I'm back... finally got DS to sleep, after some serious wrestling. Put him down and everything's fine, then 5 minutes later he's screaming because he's got himself stuck on his tummy and he's turned 180 degrees and has his head stuck under the sheet! I'm worried I'm going to need to get one of those horrible restraint/leash things when he gets older... he just doesn't stop!
Hey Girl - drop in here any time! Yes, I'm planning to go to west Africa in December to visit some of DP's family there. It's the first family gathering with DS, and I'm SO excited about it, but because it's west Africa there's some health risks involved, and it's costing me a fortune to get vaccinated and take all the necessary precautions to avoid us, but especially DS, getting bitten by mosquitoes or getting sick. Most of the medications and vaccines cant be given to babies, and there's lots I can't take while breastfeeding. Really, we should wait till DS is older, but we haven't seen family in years now, and they all want to meet Aadi.
Why can't they live somewhere like Hawaii?? Deancey must be in JetLag City by now... lucky her!
I wouldn't personally get a walker, but it's entirely your choice. I got a Jolly Jumper as there is less risk of falling over (or escaping, like I know DS would!!), and I know a few other ladies here also have them for their babies. I can only advise definitely dont use it for too long at a time and keep both eyes on Yasmeenia, because they can topple over. I know what you mean about the routine...
Sassy - bet you're having a fantastic night! Misbehave!!
Jess - it must be really interesting noticing the differences in your kids' development. Tiahna seems to be very different (from what you've mentioned) to Jordan, so I guess it keeps you on your toes, not knowing what to expect! Did you find out what that rash was? Sorry if you already mentioned it, I can't keep up! I know what you mean about them growing up so fast... I walked past a primary school playground full of kids the other day and had a bit of a reality check - that's going to be our kids before we know it! Hope you're back to long sleeps at night. I got a Pigeon sippy cup like that too, and will try and get DS to take it tomorrow maybe... and try solids again next week!
Mis_tree - YAY! Toothy pegs! Is it just one? Has it gone back down, only to pop up again? That's what happened here, and I thought I was imagining things until DS bit me!! Don't worry about the rolling, just be prepared for it to happen when you least expect it!
Abb - congrats to your DD on such great results! Sounds like Hamish might be teething too, and that could be a reason for the decrease in feeds maybe? Everything seems to go a bit crazy (or is that just me?) and things change, but I hope you get to keep the good sleeping habit!
Bec - so sorry for your cousin's loss. That's heartbreaking. It must be hard not to think about it. But good news that Cameron is doing so well. I'd be putting it in his baby book that he rolled over! That's pretty clever, using the bars. Aadi just wraps his legs around them like some kind of pole dancer and tries to climb up and eat the toys hanging off it!! It's hilarious to see, but a bit disturbing at the same time! Do you think Cameron could give us some singing lessons? The squealing around here is a bit awful... and I only sing to frighten people!
OK, bedtime now. Where did Saturday go??
