bec: i knwo wat u mean abotu tryint o sleep when they do. everytime i try i feel so much worse cause she wakes up just as i get to sleep. i wish i coudl be like Dh and fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.
jess: sounds liek u handled the ex well. its funny how people have nothign else better to do.
girl: the whole poo thing is a load of crap hahahahahaha sorry didnt know how else to put it. if they were sloppy dioreah (sp? sorry) then yes they have to call but if it is just a normal poo then no they dont have to call and u def dont have to pick up. also with bottles legally ur not aloud to do that. everyones bottles have to have their names on it and the parent has to make it b4 they come. all the carer is aloud to do is to heat and feed.
well everytime i think jayda is getting teeth they dont show. yesterday they she was slobbering liek crazy and she was sooky this morning but i guess we will see wat happens.
she is so fast gettin around now. she wore me out yesterday. she is so funny when she is standing she forgets that she has to hang on and falls over. she also hates the pram and is starting to hate the car seat now too she just wants to be out and gettin around herself. she loves being in the trolly but it is hard if she is about to fall alseep.
oh the best thign now she holds her own bottle. so it is so good when we r shopping cause i can heat it and give it to her in the pram while walkign and not have to sit in the smelly parent room for 30min while she mucks around.
I posted and then saw that Girl was the last to post and thought OMG my post didnt work... LOl. But it just the summary... LOL...
Well its a bitter sweet day... AF showed up today.... Not sure how i'm feeling... I just passed out, feeling woozy and Blerk.... I have BAD Period pain and very heavy flow.... Sorry TMI.... I guess i expected it it has been a while.... No AF for at least 6 months....
Good thing is TTC #3 might not be so hard now if i am having a monthly... Woot on that note... But Blerk to the fact that i have it.... LOl....
Sass- DD loves being independant and hold ing a bottle herself...,. I think thats why she prefered the small bottles... easier to hold...
Oh and on the bottle note... I was shocked to see a new line of baby bottles at target yesterday.... they are made by NUBY.... which is the brand that make the shoft spout bottles. (one of) Anyways they have a range of bottles now. The actual bottle part (usually plastic) is like silicone... you can squeese it... well thats the whole idea so mums can squeeze a bit and help bubs drink.... I was a bit angry cos i dont believe babies need milk forced down them.... besides that bubs needs to learn to suck dont they.... anyways they also make a bottle sith a spoon teat.... its so you can put runny pure in the bottle squeeze the bottle and a bit comes out on the sppon for spoon feeding???
gee, where do people get these ideas from?? I could spend a brazillian dollars on stuff for Aadi to eat with, drink with, play with, sleep with, poop with... whatever, and he would STILL like the box it came in better! I think the whole parenting-peer-pressure and marketing thing is just a tad obscene sometimes. So many gadgets and stuff, it's a bit overwhelming at times.
Jess - well done on handling the ex situation. I'm really lucky in that DP's ex wife is really lovely and I've actually become quite good friends with her. It helps that she lives overseas tho!! It was wierd for a while tho because we were living across the road from her in Dubai. But now she calls me, emails me, sends heaps of gorgeous stuff for Aadi from her travels (she works for a private airline), and has insisted we come to her wedding next year. My XH on the other hand... well, he's a nutter and I'm glad we don't know where he is.
Sorry to hear you're suffering so bad with AF. Do you think it's so bad because of, or at all related to, having had PCOS? I know my old flatmate suffered from it, and once a month she would just disappear for a week and re-emerge looking like death warmed up. Brutal... When I first got AF 5 months PP it was heavier than ever at first, but it's been ok and regular since. Take it easy!!
Girl - what Sassy said! Mention it to the centre director if it bothers you, because they're over-reacting and making you come get DD. And the bottle thing, well that's wrong.
OK, time's up. DS is awake. 45 minutes fighting to get him to sleep and I get a whole 20 minutes as a result. I am soooooo tired...
I came running as you can imagine. They called me because in case it might have been some serious. For example, diarrhoea. But she looked pretty healthy and happy to me and just happy to see me. Also, I am a little scared to make a complaint about Yasmeenia feeding on another bottle because what if they mistreat her because I complained? I would be a little concerned about her. I know it might sound crazy to you guys! But I can't help but feel that. The other thing is, I stopped calling. For the first two days I called the centre to see how she was doing, etc. Now, I have stopped in case they get annoyed or irrirated with me. Do I sound crazy? I was thinking, the bottle thing was a one time off, because the Yasmeenia wasn't feeding from the bottle, so she thought she would try another one. On Friday night, I noticed DD had a runny nose and what sounded like a blocked nose, thank goodness I took extra care of her, so it was all clear by Monday. She doesn't go to childcare on Tuesday's. Besides, from Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Monday (9th), she will be going. But for that and until 23rd she will be home with me. And hopefully cut down her days. So she will only be going there two days a week. Thank goodness she doesn't cry when I leave her. She is too busy looking at the other children to notice me disappear. When I come to pick her up she jumps up and down, makes noises and grabs onto me. Lol. Almost midnight, I better get going.
Girl i can understand your concern with complaining etc, but i think you have every right to question things, yasmeena is your daughter and you are paying them to take good care of her so if she is not cared for in the way you would like then it is your right to say something. I do not like confrontation myself so i can understand you not wanting to say something but when it comes to my children i would speak up.
NaNa ikwym about everything you can buy for children these days it is a bit ridiculous, and it gets worse as they get older and sucked into the advertising themselves. My sister and i have started swapping toys around, every few weeks we swap a few toys and then two weeks later another few, it is working really well and Hamish thinks he has new ones all the time.
Jess i hope you are feeling a bit better, AF is all around the place for me, its beginning to drive me insane. Hopefully once i stop bf it will sort itself out again.
Hi to Bec, Sass, Nikki, Deancey, Mis Tree
I am meeting some ladies from BB today for lunch which will be good, am a bit nervous as i have not had a meet up yet, we were supposed to meet a few weeks ago but Maddi was not well so i didnt make it. Hamish is getting into everything and standing up all the time, in the cot drives me crazy. Anyway i best get some washing done. have a nice day...
Well things here have been going well still... DD sleeping is FANTASTIC... both day and nights. i cant believe the turn around. from waking 5 times a night to all night sleeping since formula. I just am shocked. Very jealous of all of you BF mums. so miss it... yesterday i had a silky nighty on and obviously no bra and DD without even blinking pulled down the top and latched on... I was quick to pull her off cos it was a huge shock... hehe... she cried for ages... poor darl... she still tries for booby feeds... its sad but i know now by her change in behaviour, sleep and just looking at her that she is getting what she needs from the formula...
AF sucks... i have bad period pains still, (always have had bad pains with AF) yesterday i blacked out and had a fall and luckily my DS came to my aid when he heard me crash down to the floor... hehe... he asked if he had to call police... AHAHAHA.... too cute.... he got me a drink and rubbed my big boo boo on my head and even tried to help me stand up... (he can be sweet sometimes) tink i'm not used to the blood loss... very heavy at the mo... but i guess thats normal for no AF in 6 months... so 1 month of no BF and on the pill and i actually got AF on time and according to the pill packet... hoping its good for my TTC plans end of the yr or next yr...
Abb- i have been taking toys packing them away and swapping then round etc... DD just has too much baby toys at the moment... i've told everyone no toys for her b'day... i'd like to get her a nice bracelet or bangle (thinking adult bracelet and having links taken out so she can have them added again later when she is older and she can still wear it)
Girl.... I think that you need to speak up if there is something your not happy with..... I hate confrontation also but like Abb said when it comes to the kids there whats important.
NaNa- i've always had bad period pains.... I think the PCOS may be some reason as to why i suffer so bad... Not sure... Its like bad after birth pains.... Anyone who has had a 2nd or subsequent baby would know how bad after birth pains are after #1.... Its that bad sometimes the only relief is having DS sit on my tummy.... Good thing is i'm utilising the left over maternity pads i still have... AHAHAHA.... Big surf boards are working well for the hevier flow....
Anyone else have a heavier period then usual after not having AF for a while???
Nikki - Yeah it is funny how things change so quickly, this time last year we were just beginning to feel movement (well I was anyway, didn't feel my first kick til about 21weeks), and now they are out and about and constantly on the move.
Girl - Maybe you could have a 'nice' word to the childcare centre...something like that you appreciate there effects in trying to give Yasmeenia milk by offering a different bottle, but you would prefer they only use the provided bottles in future. I definitely would say something though as this girl may not be aware it is not the right thing to do.
Abb - Good idea on the toy swapping. I don't see the same babies very often to be able to do this regularly though, but I have spread Cam's toys all over the house - so depending on which room we are in there is different toys to play with. Also got some away which I alternate. How did the meet up go? I would love to meet some of the BB girls at some point...but i would be nervous too. Suddenly internet people become real faces. I've built up images of alot of people from this site - including all you guys and it would be interesting of how close I am with my imagination (I'm usually way off though). Love your new ticker by the way.
NaNa - IKWYM about them loving the boxes more then the actual contents. We've got a couple of boxes in the lounge room which is keeping Cameron amused for ages. It may look a little silly, but hey, if it occupies him for that long and it ain't hurting...why not. How'd Aadi sleep today? Hope it was better then yesterday. Isn't it frustrating taking all that time to get them to sleep then only getting 20mins.
Sassy - It's not fair that our DH's can fall asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow - I toss and turn for at least 1hr...GRRR. You'd think after all the chasing around we do now bub's are on the move we would be so worn out we would collapse into bed, but no! Doesn't it make it alot easier that Jayda can hold her own bottle. Cameron occassionally has bottles when out, he is a bit hit or miss whether he'll hold it though...must depend on his mood, hahaha.
Jess - Can't help on the AF question...still waiting here. I can't understand why I haven't gotten them yet though, being that we don't exclusively BF all the time. Oh well, my can get pretty painful too sometimes, but I don't think as bad as yours by the sound of it. Hope this is a one off for you and the rest improve. Very sweet DS caring for you like that. I'm so glad there has been a positive made of a negative for you with the switching from BF to FF, makes it a little more 'acceptable' hey.
Well still not much happening here. Cam's sleeping is ok, though this morning he woke at 5.15am, but guess I can't complain when he slept til 7am yesterday. He's been having good day sleeps too. The last 2 days he's slept for at least 2.5hrs in the arvo. Getting him to bed is also become easier again. I didn't even get to kiss him good night last night. DH took him in, and I thought I had a moment to get down to say goodnight, as DH thought he didn't have the same nack as I do to now just lay him down and walk out. But apparently he does, as no sooner had I stood up, DH was closing his door and didn't hear another peep from Cameron til this morning.
Oh, gotta go Cam's finally woken.
Bye for now
