HeyGoodLooking At first when I checked my notifications I thought there was a new member to our group....love the new name. Glad to hear your MIL was able to bribe Tiahna for cuddles with chocolate...I had a look at your FB photos, I see she enjoyed her bunny.
Sassy - Ain't that always the way...they never perform when you want them too. I am a little jealous Jayda and Tiahna are walking though...I can just see Cam's going to take his first steps when he is at child care - I think I'll have to tell them if they see he is about to walk to push him back down . I also had a look at your FB photos too, Jayda loved her chocolate egg too.
How was everyone's easter?
Well I wasn't planning on giving Cam easter egg, but then I started to think about it more and I thought its probably no worse then giving Cam birthday cake and fairy bread, plus we don't have a problem with fussiness with foods, he loves his vegies so a little treat here and there couldn't hurt. So when we went shopping on Saturday I bought him a little Lindt bunny (couldn't find any kinder ones). We gave it to him and knew exactly where to put it. He did an ok effort, but didn't guts it like I thought he might, only nibbled down half the ears (its one of the smaller Lindt bunnies) - so it was good to see he is not a chocolaholic like his parents yet
Nothing else new here, but I did have a quick question...
Have all your bubs soft spot closed over yet? Cam's hasn't yet, I'm not worried though as I know it can take til 12months, and it is getting smaller (its a little smaller then a 10c piece now). Was just curious.
Well, thats all from me for now. Off to get ready, we are meant to be going to a BBQ at a friends house- but it is pouring rain here, so I guess it might be an inside event now.
Bec- I keep seeing it and thinking where is my post... LOL... Hopefully the name change will be all worth it once i can save some cash for the business i'd like to start. Well at least it will be meaningful... lol
Soft spot still there but yeah closing a little... Probably can notice more cos i have a baldy... LOL... Loving all the hair that everyones bubs have... I picked up some very cheap brand new clothes at the local markets,.... DD is so long i brought an all in 1 size 0 looked enormous so i thought it'd be ok got home put it on and it just fits... need to stick with seperates... She is wearing 0-1 pants... needs 1 for length but 0 are still big in the waist... lol. Thank god i'm using cloth now and it takes up more room... lol. we now have 8 teeth,,, waiting on the other 2 to come up properly... cant believe it. so many teeth but she looks so cute when she smiles and shows them off...
NaNa- the cover over the Maz Nappy worked a treat... Now i'm not so much of a newbie i found the others really helpful but OMG that threat goes fast.
Abb- have been MIA for a while... Hope everything is ok
Where are the rest of u ladies... Hope ur lurking round somewhere.
DD is only on 2-3 bottles a day now and i have decided to go up to the next toddler milk already... She eats very well and i ahave spoken with my GP and the MCHN and they both feel there isnt much difference in the 2... Its $10 a tin cheaper though....
Hey everyone sorry i have been lurking but not posting in here. Just get on and dont have alot of time to post.
Things are good here, with my health i will fill you all in soon when i get my last test results on thursday.. I am crossing everything for the all clear, i have not told anyone about this other than dp, so i want to just wait for the results and then deal with whatever happens then. Ok enough of the bad stuff. Easter has been good, hamish has had a great time and we have spent alot of time as a family doing things and the weather is great here atm. We spent today at the gardens and he loved feeding the ducks and playing in the leaves etc. No steps here i think he is happy cruising around furniture atm and standing unassisted for ages now.
Bec - hamish still has his soft spot also, it is smaller but still there.
Jess - thanks for asking about me. Hamish also only has 2 feeds a day..
Sass - jayda is so gorgeous, loved the easter pics
NaNa- i hope your new cot routine works for you, i cant imagine how difficult things are for you. We were suppose to be in Melbourne this week but Dp wants to do things around the house and has to work away thursday, friday & saturday so we wont be coming now :-(. We will meet one day soon i hope.
Better be off and get some washing done.. will try be back in next few days if not will be back thursday for update..
Abb- We all hope ur results are all good but if u need to talk just to get things off ur chest just let me know... U have some great support friends that i know on here... (kinda makes me wish i lived closeer to u all... HUgs... Keep positive Glad easter went well... Is hamish having formula now or r u still BF i forget now...
Thanks Jess, i am the kind of person that does not like to worry anyone else about things concerning myself, i actually cant believe i have even mentioned it on here to be honest but i am trying my utmost to not worry until i need to if that makes sense. I guess what i mean is i dont want to stress about something that doesn't exist, so i will wait until Thursday.
Hamish is on formula heinz nurture .
Abb- i understand u not wanting to post about things that might not be 100% certain... But just so u know we are all here for u...
well i tried DD on the sample sachets of Karicare toddler and no change with DD at all... so i am switching to it full time from next tin. Got some more MCN's today... SO in love with them but so addictive...
DD is back to 2 day sleeps but all out of wack... she is wanting to sleep at 3.30 in the afternoon and sleeping til like 6-7 if i let her... if i wake her up she is super grumpy... she has had several wake ups between 12-4am and wont go back to sleep cos she is all charged up... Not that i'm whinging...
NaNa- hope things are ok with u... Hows the sleeping going??
Mis- hows stank?? things have been rough on u too...
Trac- ur old AGP sounds like my old one... with DS i was told i had no milk and to put him on formula and also it would help his reflux... Pffftttt... if i had known then what i do now... Have u spoken to the docs bout meds to boost supply???
Amber necklace- if u can get one... works wonders here. even cutting 4 teeth we only had few sooky moments 1 screaming match (but i noticed no necklace on it had come off) I was super worried bout it at night also but she has been fine. Its short so they can really see it. she never touches it and its a plastic screw on clip so if u pull it it comes loose. i only take it off at bath times now. DD doesnt even realise its there. If ur worried they say u can put it on their ankle or wrist while sleeping... Or u can buy bracelets also... i was thinking bout getting DD a bracelet also just for extra amber strength,..... lol... They also say there good for adults also.
Sounds like u've had ur hands full... poor stank. If u think he is too lathargic (spl) then i would get him checked out hun... and thanks for the name change comment... Hope u all dont get too confused now... lol. Once i get my store running (months away now) it will have so much more meaning...
Mis: sorry to hear about stanks hope he gets better soon and ex vanishes so it makes ur life easier lol.
jess: i still cant get used to ur new name lol.
Abb: i hope things go good with ur results.
someone said somethign about softspots. jayda still has a little one too about 10c size.
her nose is green again.
ok now some advice is needed. DH's best friends gf is preg. she is so confused and doesnt knwo wat to do she is only just 17. they r great together and he wants her to keep it but she isnt sure. the main reason she is freakin wat her mum will say. she want sto talk to me about it tomorrow night but i dont want to tryt o push her to keep it cause i am so excited for them and want them to have it lol. so any advice on wat to say to her. i had a good talk to DH's friend last ngiht and he is so excited but he said i feels like he cant show it cause gf is so confused. this guy is like the last person out of everyone we know that we thought would have kids anytime soon so it is a big deal for him but yet he is so happy.
Sass - re ur friend... i had great neighbours whom we got along with great...w e wold sit out the front and chat etc... We'll just call her K.... her DP was always asking me to get her to want to have a baby... i had DS at the time... we used to talk bout it all the time... eventually she decides to go off the pill... she falls preggas and he decides he's in love with his ex divorces her and makes her get rid of it... i never forgave him and never made friends with the new GF... K and i are still friends... she now has a great hubby and beautiful son...
So from my experience... Dont try to frce ur opinion... just offer a shoulder and a ear to listen. GL...
Sassy, I think the most important thing for your friend is to have support from friends and family. Having a baby at any age is hard work, but it's made so much harder if you're young and haven't got your mum's blessing or support! It's probably a terrifying time for her, and she'll need positive input and guidance to make the decision that's right for her, and not just because her boyfriend wants to have a baby.
Also, I have a question for you - as a FDC worker, how would you handle having to look after a high-needs hyper-boy like Aadi as well as the other kids you look after? If someone asked, would you be willing or able to take care of a full-on baby like my DS for a couple of afternoons a week? I am looking at taking DS to FDC, but the way he behaves ATM makes me reluctant and hesitant to inflict this mayhem on someone else who has other kids to look after as well. I need the respite, but I get the feeling DS would go onto some kind of childcare black list for his tantrums and I'd be stuck with never getting a babysitter for him ever, like Bart Simpson...
Mis_tree - hey you! Having a hard time, girl... poor Stanks really copped it with the ear infections and allergies! I have been following what's been happening with you (I lurk now and then, but don't post) and I felt so bad that you got such pathetic treatment from your old GP. It's so hard finding anyone who can do their jobs properly these days, but getting crap like that from a doctor when you're down and vulnerable is just WRONG. ggrrrrrrr.... I hope you have the time to look into some of the allergy support groups, and you get all the help you need to manage that so it's not a big deal for you or Stanky.
Us, well, it just gets better... *sigh* we've gone from having just the one tantrum between 3-5am to having 2+ hours of tantrums at 9 every morning, as well as the one at 3am, and sometimes one at midnight too, and any other time I go within sight of the cot with Aadi in my arms. I'm wasting my days trying to get him to have a day sleep in his cot, and end up walking miles with him in the pram by 10.30 because he's been screaming and kicking for over an hour and a half. I'm killing myself with trying to be consistent. It's pointless. He's slept in the pram a couple of times, but he's also continues the tantrum for an hour or so before finally crashing. I'm knackered from walking so far too. Afternoon naps I don't even try to get him in the cot. I gave up. So he's been sleeping (sometimes) on our bed again. By 7 he's exhausted and falls asleep in my arms after a feed, and it's just a matter of putting him down and shooshing him a few times and he's asleep. But only for a couple of hours maximum. He always stirs and cries, and needs resettling. The major problem is that he goes from 0-100 in a split second! He's sound asleep one moment, and up and crawling and climbing before he's even opened his eyes. Or he's screaming and slapping before he's even fully awake. Sleep school can't help that. I even tried the Polaramine today, just a small amount. It did nothing. Tomorrow I'm going to try Pain Stop. DP is uncertain about using medication, and I am too, but I have to get some rest or I'm going to crack.
So the mothercraft nurse has put me on to an unsettled babies clinic at the children's hospital, but I have to get a referral from my paed or GP, and make sure that it's marked urgent because we're going away soon, and I'm DESPERATE. Also, I'm going to get a visit from a MCHN at home now and then, just because. And I'm not going to the useless MCHN up the road from me anymore. Apparently lots of people have complained about her and end up back at the next suburb over, but they're fully booked now. I have another one to try, tho, and they're supposed to be good.
About the fontanelle/soft spot, DS had quite a large fontanelle (two actually) at birth, and it's still there. It can take around 2 years to close over completely, I think.
Right, DP is resettling Aadi now. I have to go take over... hmmmm.
Sorry its always so long in between post's but ever since we have been back from Adelaide everyone has been sick. First Abbie and Lachlan were sick(now they are fine) and now Dh myself and Cody are sick. I have Pharengitis which aparantly cause from an allergy i have to something. Grrrr I only had it in november, its horrible. Lachlan is now toilet training YEAH and he is going sooooo well he dissapears and i find him in the toilet doing a poo WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo now only 1 child in nappies you have no idea how good it feels;-)
Nana i really feel for you honey. Lachlan is one trying child too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With him sleeping in your bed honestly as long as you are sleeping who cares, we used to put cody in our bed he actually co-slept for the first year and then there was not enough room and he kicked us too much so we put his cot mat on the floor next to our bed and put pillows down the side so he did not roll under the bed(althoug sometimes he did lol). Honestly whatever works for you. Some nights we have massive fights with lachlan to go to bed but do you know the longer we fight with him the longer he stays awake so we just turn off the lights lay in bed and ignore him and the quicker we do that the quicker he goes to sleep. I am not saying its going to work for you but anything is worth a try:-) Goodluck honey and if you need to chat i am here or on facebook:-) Hope your test results come back all clear for you and i understand you not wanting to talk about it when i was waitin for my ultrasound to see if my thyroid was cancerious or not i did not want to talk to anyone not even my family, thats just the way i wanted to deal with it i suppose, so good luck ;-)
Jess love the new name but when i first came on i thought ohhh we have a newby lol. I cant believe how many teeth tihana has omg Abbie still only has 4 Both my boys nearly had ALL of there teeth by the time they were one. She is obviously just taking her time. Yeah on the business venture sounds great cant wait to hear more about it. Abbie is also in 0-1 pants but i am only buying her 1 shirts and stuff cause she is quite long too and they are a little big in the width but she needs it for the length in the arms. Oh just a quick one on your fluff lol If i wanted to put abbie to MCN then what should i buy there are sooooo many different ones and how many will i need and do i need covers ohhh its so confusing lol .............
mistree sorry to hear about stankys health issues at the moment must be hard, i am finding it hard with everyone in my house being sick.. I hope that everything sorts it self out soon for you. And i agree with Sassy hopefully XP vanish's for you:-)
