BK: glad ur kiddies r feeling better, was gonna ask, as im being induced i *may* need a CS, how long after ur 1st CS could u drive/clean house etc? cause DP wont do it and i dont hav eany help e.g. mum or anything??
hi girls! We are all nearly holding our joyous bundles - (((HUGS))) for TM! Soon!
I have been home for 2 nights now, and Reuben is doing really well! He is only really waking once during the night (after a 11pm feed). He really is the sweetest little man! I had forgotten how wonderous it is to have a new born baby! With flu going thru our house at the moment, Reuben & I are in quarantine in the bedroom, but it's starting to look up, with our last child now in recovery mode.
I am having some issues with my recovery, with the incision taking a little more time than normal to heal - it's a repeat c/s thing....a little tmi for you girls (pls don't take offence - it's something that repeat c/s girls don't even like to talk about...).
I reckon tomorrow I will be able to sit at the computer long enough to post a picture!
Xxx

Hey TM, even you are induced you might be fine, that was the only intervention I had with Milo and everything else was fine after that.
we came home from hospital about 10 hours after I had Oscar, b/f is going a lot better this time than last, its much easier when you have milk coming on on day 2-3 than day 5-6 though, and your bub attaches a bit better.
ATM sleeping in the day and partying at night *sigh* hopefully this sorts itself out soon enough.
HE doesnt really like sleeping anywhere other than on mychest or in his car capsule, which i know is not a good thing for him to be doing. mw said give it a week or so letting him sleep anywhere, til my milks all in and we're a bit more settled.
best go check on him..
CONGRATULATIONS NELLY!!!
Welcome little Sophia
Too tired and busy to do more personals sorry ladies... I barely was able to skim over your messages I'm sorry to say
Just found out my Grandmother has lung cancer... I love her dearly, but the stuborn old girl has been smoking like a chimeny for as long as I can remember, so she's lucky she's dodged the cancer bullet this long as it is. Still she's very upset that I live so very far away and that she will most probably never get to meet little Phillip. Anyway I had better stop typing before I burst out in tears thinking about it.
I just don't think we can really afford to fly over there now, esspecially since the hospital bills have all started flooding in... Oh man. Ok I have to go.

Oh Nat, I'm so sorry.
Hey TM - I hope it doesn't come to an induction for you, let alone a c/s......*fingers crossed*.......But in answer to your question, my first c/s was after a long 'spurious labour' (15 days), and then a failed induction which resulted in a 27 hour labour with only 1 1/2cm dilation.......so I had been put through the wringer.....but I was discharged on day 5. It was tough for a while. I was told that 6 weeks was how long before I could drive, and DH made me stick to that! But, I haven't been told that since, and I have to admit that I drove my DD to ballet yesterday as DH was with DS1 at cricket. As for housework, aside from the usual tiredness of a new mum, you do get sore quickly and I find that I just can't do the things that my eyes see, telling my brain that I should do. Careful, consistent pain management and pacing yourself is the answer......but it is difficult early on. I am on day 10 now, and am still very sore - requiring regular pain meds and loads of rest.
Nat - ((((HUGS))))
BK, I'm sorry you are still having to take it so easy. Re the driving thing, the midwives were saying in the hospital that the six week limit is mostly an insurance thing, that most insurance won't cover you if you have an accident driving less than six weeks post partum.
Hope everyone's having a nice weekend doing whatever they are doing. We made it to church today (went to a friend's parish as dh is on leave) and that was fun, but I'm pretty exhausted. I just wish I could get more than an hour or so's sleep in a row :-( I keep reminding myself it won't last forever, it just feels that way! I have never had a baby feed so much, ever - I'm losing weight like billy-oh which is a good thing, I guess! Thank goodness I'm getting a sleep in during the day or I don't know how I'd cope. I have to sew up school uniforms this afternoon, and dd is coming over with her fiance for dinner, and the house is a mess. Sigh.
TMTM: i dont have insurance anyway only 3rd party so shouldnt matter... i just dread having the house a pigsty...maybe u can get ur DD to do a quick vaccum in exchange for dinner tonite?
Nat: so sorry to hear about ur grandma
BK: yeah i hope it doesnt end in a CS, they said im fuly effaced but not dialated, that was 5 days ago and still no BH's or anything, she must be too comfy in there, interested to know whether im dialated a bit now but too sore/inflamed down there to have a feel sorry TMI!
so nothing much happeneing here, baby hardly moved yesterday and only once or twice today even though ive had a can of coke, thinking if i dont feel her for a few more hrs i might ring the hossy and see if they can just check her for me, i doubt theyd put me on induction today though being sunday and all.?
TM, with that amount of movement, I'd be asking for them to do a trace.
whats a trace? like fetal monitoring? its been a couple hrs and only felt her 2 or 3 times, usually when i poke my belly she jabs me back but nothing, had coke and chocolate usually shed be all over the place but only a few swishy movements...what should i do?
I'd go for a trace Emma, it is painless and you will get to relax and listen to Jade's heartbeat. 2 sleeps at most!!! So exciting! By the way, some babies settle down in the womb just before labour begins.
TM - I agree with TMTM, it's a good idea just to get it checked because you are officially overdue. It's also nice just to hear bubs, and have the reassurance that everything is going along ok.
I seem to be unable to post a photo of Reuben to the gallery....I am uploading, but then it doesn't show up....grrrrr - frustrating.....it's not like I have huge amounts of time to sit at the computer.....!!!!! Reuben is sleeping at the moment (it's 4:15pm), and I am getting a kick on with dinner, cause he's due to wake at exactly the wrong time - actually I started dinner at 3:30 - and the kids were all confused! lol! DH was having a sleep in front of the tv (football), and although he is not getting up at night (actually he said that he's getting the best nights sleep that he has for the past couple of months) - he's been pretty much under the pump with me in hossy, commuting back and forth twice a day, and dealing with the kids 24/7......so I am letting him sleep until he's ready to wake. It's his birthday tomorrow too, so it's a good opportunity for me to get the kids to make cards and draw pictures for him.
hi all, just got back from hossy, got a CTG thingy, they said im having mild contx 5 mins apart (i cant feel them though but it showed up well on the machine) and the MW is sure i wil go into labour tonite...told us to go home a DTD![]()

So much better than being induced! Actually when I was in labour with Ethan and was on my way to hossy there was a long period where I had no movement and I started to panic and was prodding him, eventually he moved so I knew he was ok but it's pretty scary. I'm so glad Jade has finally decided to stop being a mummy's girl and come out to meet her parents!
Nat - so sorry to hear about ur g.ma.hope u start to feel better soon. I wonder if there is someone over there with her who has skype so u could chat to her and she could see Phillip and Mia?
I'm on my phone so sorry for no more persies. Things are going well here. We got Ethan a portable glider swing y.day. He loves it! I love it! Means I can load the dishwasher and mop the floors etc and actually finish the job! The long sleep he has in the morning is my shower time and weekends are family time so I need to get it all done during the week. DH and I take turns in sleeping while the other cuddles Ethan, had my nap last night and DH had his thismorning.
I had my first projectile vomit shower care of Ethan tonight! Lol his poor bellyhe was happy after tho. I'm sure we got a smile out of him, didn't look like a wind smile it was a huge beaming happy smile and a happy 'coo' to go with it!
hee hee
Yay tm!
