Lis - huge hugs for you. Unfortunately I know just what you're going through with Elena. I've just come through two weeks of hell with Izzy (she's exactly two weeks older than Elena) so maybe its a development issue with these colic/reflux babies?

Best of luck with the formula trial. One question though - who suggested it might be your milk that was upsetting her?? Not saying its not, but please don't think its TOTALLY your milk. I cut out dairy and then slowly phased it back in and it seemed to help Izzy. I also know not to touch garlic or chilli at all. May not be what is affecting Elena, but its worth a shot.

One final thing - the colic mix I am now giving Isabelle seems to be fantastic. It is completely natural, she likes the taste and it really seems to be helping settle her stomach and get rid of her wind. Please let me know if you want to try some - I'm more than happy to pack a bottle up and post it over. It may be coincidence, but she is certainly far more settled now.

Crossing my fingers things settle down soon for you.

Thanks so much girls, my mum is here today so I can get some rest but poor Elena is still really unhappy.

Lulu I've tried cutting out dairy, onion, garlic, chilli and a million other things. I also don't eat any processed foods or take away food, my diet is really bland and simple at the moment. It was my MCHN that suggested that it might be my milk, I'm not convinced but I'm willing to give anything a try at the moment. I've also got a natural colic mix as well that is made up by a naturopath, not sure if it is the same as yours? It does help her a little but I think this is more than colic now particularly as now she is so much better at burping all that wind out.

Ash and Tan thanks heaps, I'm so clueless lol!

    Hello girls!!

We went to Melbourne as usual for Noah's foot and were expecting another plaster and then the tenotomy next week on Wednesday but Dr. P had a look and said that Noah has made great progress and he would like to put the tenotomy on hold. So Noah got fitted for his boots and brace and we go down every 2 weeks to review and make sure that he is progressing still. The boots and bar stay on 23/7 for the first 3 months and then for sleeps until he is 2 or 3. I will try to get pics on my webpage over the next couple of days of him in his new fancy shoes. These ones cost $550!!! Lets hope he doesn't need too many more...

Lis - to you. It is hard to see your little one so distressed. Just try what you need to and I hope you find something that works. Have you tried something for reflux? I can't remember if you had sorry.

Tan at the nappy thing, I am always having issues, today Noah had poo all up the inside of his singlet suit and all over him.

Ashlee - Have you still got the flu? Poor thing, you look after yourself hun!

Danni - I love the photos, they look great, what a gorgeous family you all make!

Dan - I am so happy for you that sleep school worked for you! Is Olivia keeping it up?

Well the boy is crying again, he can't handle not being in my arms and I have so much to do, I might have to take off the bar and put him in the wrap until I get things done. Talk to you all soon!

    Hi Everyone!

I am so computer illiterate, have been arguing with mine all day aaargh!! Can anyone help - I am trying to put photo beside ticker but it says file is too big! I have been trying to reduce size and have nooo idea!!! I have been at the ticker website trying to work it out and am getting so frustrated, surely it can't be so hard everyonbe else has nice piccies of their babies!!! Please help!! Other than fighting with my comp, Angus has been a good boy today, has actually slept in his cot!! Went to sleep talking to his new mobile and listening to the music on it, what a good boy!

Lulu, Isabelle sounds like Angus, I had to cut out garlic, chilli, cabbage, lentils and stuff cause he had chronic wind the poor thing! Lis, I hope the colic mix and formula lets you have some rest, poor Elena. Sez, Danni, being a Mum is the best job in the world hey. I have 3 but am trying to convince my DH for another one!! Sure there are times when I pull my hair out, but on the whole it is so rewarding!!

Anyway my boy just woke up and thinks he is hungry. He has been snacking a bit today, not sure why?? He is a big hungry boy!! Take care everyone!!

    Hello!!

Thought I'd better pop in and let you all know that I'm still here!!! I've just had a really crazy week and haven't had time to post!! We've been out and about quite a bit, which has been really great, but I'm just soo exhausted from it all, so a day home today has been just lovely!!

We've had a few dramas with Luke throughout the week too - he's been extremely upset after feeds and at one point, was refusing to feed! It was sooo distressing but luckily we had an appointment with the paedetrician (sp?) and as I suspected, he does have refux. He's always been a sicky baby but it wasn't really upsetting him until now and it's certainly hasn't been affecting his weight gain (the big boofer)!! So they're reluctant to do too much about it at this stage but I think I'm going to have to go back as it's really upsetting him now. I've just had him screaming at the top of his lungs for the last hour and there's nothing I can do. Actually the doc told us we could give him a little bit of mylanta, so I might run out and get some - it's so distressing seeing him so upset - he's obviously in soo much pain, my poor little man!! Thankfully, he's asleep now and he's not doing it after every feed, so I'm still praying its going to improve again!

On a brighter note, we had our first long stint between feeds the night before last. My good little boy went 7.5 hours between feeds. Of course, it started at 6.30pm, so I didn't quite get enough sleep out of it but it's given me hope. I'm just trying to work out how we managed to do it coz last night, he was back to about 4 and 5 hours between feeds - still good but man, 7.5 hours would just be heaven if it happened at the right time!!

Anyway, thats enough from me right now - sorry for another selfish post.

    Good evening mums and bub's,
I really quick post from me because I'm using someone else's computer and Olivia is upset and crying. Our sleeping has generally been going really well but she has had a few upset sleeps the last two evenings. Wondering if this is going to be her witching hour or if we are doing something wrong with our settling.
We are off to Melbourne for a week which I'm worried about because I have no idea how Olivia is going to cope being away from home and in a cot for the first time. Fingers crossed it will all be alright.
This going to be my last post until next weekend because I am going to have no internet access at all so I'm going to go into major BB withdrawal but catching up for lunch on Wednesday should get me through.
Sez - It's fantastic to hear that you are enjoying being a mum. It is great isn't it? How Nicky's weight gain going?
Sarah - that is awesome news about Noah. What a relief that he doesn't need this op. Hope he's adjusting to his new boot and it isn't bothering him too much.
Kelly - Great to hear from you. It's good that you've got it diagnosed that Luke has reflux so that you can do something to help him out now so he won't be in as much pain after his feed and hopefully he'll be able to sleep a bit better during the day for you.
Can't wait to see everyone for lunch on Wednesday. Olivia and I are really looking to meeting everyone face to face.
Hope all these gorgeous babies are being good and letting their mums get lots of rest and sleep.
    Luv Dan.

Sarah - great news about Noah (although not good news about the price of that boot!!) Still, if it does the trick I guess its worth it.

Dan - good luck with your trip to Melbourne. I'm sure Olivia wil adjust well to her road trip and hopefully keep the decent sleeping going so you aren't so tired and can enjoy your trip.

Lis - how's the formula trial going? I hope its working and giving you some respite and Elena some comfort.

Kelly - sorry to hear Luke has reflux. Its awful isn't it when there is nothing you can do to help alleviate their pain. Hopefully the Mylanta will work.

Michelle - can't offer any help on changing your photo unfortunately. I have a computer geek husband who does all that sort of stuff for me! (he's not here right now so I can't ask him for you) but I think Sarah will know for you.

Michelle, Sez and Danni - I'm really glad you are all enjoying motherhood. I have to say I'm not - there are days when its ok and days when I truly hate it. I love my little girl but life at the moment is pretty miserable except for the very occasional enjoyable moment. Like today - she fed 3 hourly through the night and has been awake and screaming for hours now. I'm supposed to be going to my in-laws this afternoon for FIL's birthday and I'm just dreading it. Hopefuly she'll turn the corner soon and get more settled so that it can start being fun, but my plans for a quick No. 2 are definitely on hold!

kelly: try gaviscon. Sarah and I use it for our boys and it really works. you can get it over the counter at the chemist too. Hopefully he outgrows it quickly...Mason seems to have gotten over the worst part of it.

lulu: I am so sorry to hear you feel that way hunny. If she is so irritable, something must be hurting her? Have you seen the nurse or doctor? could it be reflux, colic etc? i really hope she becomes more settled soon :hugs:

Well Dale, Mason and I spent the weekend with Sarah and her gorgeous family! Our bubs were on their best behaviour and we so cute together. will get some pics off sarah soon! xx

Hi ladies - hope you have all had a great weekend!

lulu - hugs to you hun, I really hope things improve for you so you can enjoy your little girl. :hugs: It must be so hard for you - I hope your afternoon went ok too today. I know what you mean about number 2 - I just want my body/bbs/etc back for a while... maybe when shes about 2.

Kelly -I hope the mylanta works for you too hun - poor little Luke. Yay on the longer sleeps - Izzy does the same going down between 6-8 for quite a long time - anywhere from 6-10 hours! like you said - you dont necessarily get the sleep at the same time but I find i can spend time with Al and just relax a bit. Especially as shes quite unsettled leading up to this sleep.

Dan - only 3 more sleeps! Cant wait to meet you! Heres hoping Olivia sleeps for you - they are pretty resilient little things arent they though! Izzy has slept in her pram, on friends beds and couches, friends arms and grandmas cot -so far so good! I posted the other day about Izzys sleeping and I really think they all have a time each day that they just crack the s***s and wont settle even if they are bathed, held, fed etc.. they just want to have a grizzle and then get over it!

Michelle -I use photo studio to resize my pics - i choose the photo and then left clcick on open with.... photo studio and then when in that i go to edit= resize photo. I then save it as tcker or something like that. Having said that I havent had to do that with lilypie maybe my camera resolution isnt that high though. Sounds like Angus and Izzy both love their mobiles- although she doesnt fall asleep to it - but she just loves it in there and i love puttin her safe in there while i have a shower! I also figure Im getting her used to her cot!

Sarah - yay for Noah! You must be so pleased - but that boot and bar sounds expensive - heres hoping you dont have to update it too often hun. Have you decided about what you might do on Wednesday yet??

Danni- it was quiet in here wasnt it - has everyone been in the live chat - Im obsessed! Mad woman. Cant wait to see you and little spunk man again on Wednesday! Hope hes been a good boy!

Sez - yay for Nicholas - isnt it fun watching these little monkeys grow and learn!

To all you gorgeous mums and bubs that Ive missed!

Well ladies we have been really well- Izzy is really in a good sleeping pattern now - with the exception of her witching hours - which as i said before - i think is so normal, she is so good for the rest of the day and night that I thnk she deserves a few hours of grizzling and cuddles. Especially after she slept for 10 hours last night ! From 8pm to 6am... typical though - we had friends over and I didnt go to bed til 1am!!
Not sure that it will happen again because i put her to bed at 7 after her feed and she was still grizzling and sucking hard on her dummy at 8 so i gave her a little feed again, so i thnk thats what did it... not sure if i should give her a little feed every night 2 hours after her last one.

Shes also so responsive now to everyone.! We get so many cute gurgles and excited kicks and smiles now! Even Al was saying to someone today, no matter how tired or hung over he is !! when he goes in to her room in the morning and sees her little gummy smile it wakes him right up!

Well we got the Strider 3!! After all our dramas - took it out today - its great, I would have like a more outdoorsy pram but really - Im not that ourdoorsy so the latte pram it is!! Ha ha!! I love having her facing me too - thats the best bit about it i think!

Well ladies - Grays is about to come on and i need a rest from staring at this screen!

Danni, Alex and Dan - cant wait til Wednesday!! Anyone else joining us???? Kristen, lis, Sez..anyone else in Melbourne????

    Catch you all soon!

    Hi girls,

Huge hugs Lulu - I know exactly how you feel hun and OMG I could have written your post exactly. There are some days when I think I just can't do this anymore and others when I absolutely love it. I hope things start to improve for you soon. I'm with you on not rushing to have no.2, maybe when little miss is toilet trained so I don't have two in nappies lol!

Hi to everyone else, sorry don't have much time for personals. We had a great weekend with long sleeps and being much more settled but today she screamed again for hours. I just don't know what else to do. I'm going to see the MCHN again tomorrow so I'll see what she says.

Tan would love to meet you all but I'm so scared of Elena screaming like she did today, we haven't been going out much apart from visiting family and the short trip to the shops. Sigh I hope things get better soon so that I feel more confident taking her out.

Hope all the mummas and bubbas are doing well, sorry I'm a bit down today

    Hi girls

Sorry i'm never around - i've just been flat out. Spent the wkend in Cooma (4.5 hrs away from my home) visiting Mum and saying goodbye to my Grandad who is dying and not expected to last the rest of the month. It was a tough, emotional trip but very worthwhile. I feel blessed to have been given the chance to say goodbye to my Grandad and have him meet my beautiful girls.

Tia is doing really well. We have a cardiologist appointment on Friday so we should get an idea of when her open heart surgery will take place (fingers crossed it'll be closer to 12 months than 6).

I have no idea what's been happening on here with all of you lovely mums and bubs but i think of you often and hope all is going great and that you are all enjoying motherhood as much as i am.

Lis - big hugs to you and Elena. I'm so sorry you are still battling against her horrible colic. You are an awesome mummy for soldiering-on the way you are when it must be incredibly difficult. I truly hope this passes very soon.

Ash - miss you honey - hope you and Blakey are doing well.

We have all disappeared the last couple of weeks!!! I might have to make Wednesday a miss I am afraid. I would really love to come but a combination of a lack of funds and now I am sick makes it a no go now. We will have to do another Melbourne meet up when the weather is warmer.

Dan - I am sad that I won't get to meet you this time but if I go back for another visit to Mount Beauty I will have to make a trip over your direction to meet up. That means me getting on my P's because Juz won't do the 7 hour drive on his own again

Danni - It was great to hang out over the weekend, we will have to plan to come down to visit you very soon. Noah has copied Masons bubble blowing

Tan - I think it is stupid the boots cost so much, theres nothing to them. Also considering the fact that if he had the tenotomy they would have been given to him at no cost. Definitly have to meet up again soon since I am missing out this week.

Ok Noah has cracked it again, I will have to wait until he goes to sleep to finish my personals. Have a great day!!!

    Hey All,

It sounds like everyone has had a few bad weeks! We have all just got over the sniffles, then wouldn't you know it we have all had a 24hr gastro bug. Poor Angus 2 nights ago had really bad smelly diarhoea, wouldn't feed and basically screamed all the time. Poor little thing, I had to get a friend over just so I could have a bath and a rest!! Then yesterday my 3 yr old vomited all day!! She seems heaps better today though, but now I have about 10 loads of dirty washing!! Am waiting for my 8 yr old to get it now!!! I can look back and kinda laugh at our disastrous few days!!

Sarah, I hope you get better soon, nothing worse than trying to look after a baby as well as yourself when you are sick! Especially breastfeeding, and getting in and out of bed in the cold!!!

Lis, I hope things start to look up for you soon. Hope the MCHN helps you out, and you can get out and about a bit more.

Rae, good to hear from you, hope Tia's cardiology appt goes well. Sorry to hear about your Grandad, but it is nice you got to say goodbye.

Alex, what are the sleep secrets!! I was so excited that for the first time Angus slept for 6 hours last night!! 11hrs would be a god send!!!

Anyway, better go, it is a bit warmer now so I can finally give Angus his bath, was way too cold earlier!!

    Take care all!!

    Michelle
