Lulu, Blake has been teething for a couple of weeks now. The crap thing is, they will goup and down a few times before the teeth actually erupt. It's absolute hell.

Aw Danni - did your Pop pass away? I'm so sorry hun *hugs*. I hope Mason's sleeping improves soon, and he gets better from his cold

Sarah - is Noah still taking 5 feeds a night?! I don't know how you do it - I'm grumpy enough when Mia wakes during the night and has a few cries, let along having to get up and feed her! Poor chicken.

Michelle - hope you feel better soon. I think the cold/flu has really done the rounds this season!! It's amazing, I think everyone I know (including Mia!) has been sick this season. Hope you feel better soon.

Kelly - poor little man, I think you've done a wonderful job perserving as you have!! Nothing wrong with formula if you think that's better for your gorgeous boy - you're the mummy and you know what's best for him!!

Lulu - OMG teeth?? AMAZING! Hope she gets through the first few ok and the rest are just as smooth!

Well, I'm seriously considering doing some children's photography professionally.... am I mad?!?!?!

Had another practice shoot yesterday with a friend of mine... actually, I've uploaded some photos into a portfolio here on BB so people can have a peek - are they good enough?? I'm so unsure!!

Just a quick one, things are so busy here!!!

Kristen, the shots look great, I say go for it!!! Yeah he was up 3 times last night, it is enough to drive you mad. I will get sleep one day is all I keep thinking

Ash and Lulu, I am in the same boat, Bonjela has been a godsend as well as Gummy my teething dummy. Oh the joys, it's a good thing they don't remember these things when they get older.

Ok, Noah has just filled his pants for the 2nd time in 10 mins and my brekkie is burning. Will try to catch up later!!!

Sarah-Bonjella isn't helping, either are teethers or rusks. The poor kid just screams at me, won't take a dummy AT ALL now (he rarely did before but now not at all). He is feeding ever 1.5 hours, it's nuts.

Kristen-Your pics are beautiful, I would definitely love you to photograph my boy! Go for it!

    Hi Girls!

Thanks sooo very much for all your encouragement - its been pretty tough for us lately but amazingly we're still feeling pretty good and enjoying everything (well everything apart from feeding). Luke is just the perfect little boy - appart from feed times!! Its crazy. No-one believes the dramas he's causing me, because he's so good when we're out (as I just can't bf when we're out). I'm not letting it get to me though and we're still busy little beavers. We even went to a Mums and Bubs movie session today, it was GREAT!! We saw the movie 'Hairspray'!! Luke was soooo amazed by the big screen, he was LOVING it. It's got heaps of singing and dancing too and Luke was going crazy - his arms and legs were going a hundred miles an hour - soooo cute.

So, we've given him four bottles of formula now and tonight he took the WHOLE lot. I've just been giving him formula at night and then during the day, either trying to bf or giving him ebm. I'm really worried about drying up my milk supply and don't really know how to go about it - any ideas?? I'll chat to the paed about it on Tuesday aswell.

Ash - You poor thing, I'm sooo not looking forward to teething!! Knowing my luck, I'll just get the feeding sorted out and he'll start teething!!! Someone from my MG was talking about a great natural medication that you can get for them but I can't remember what it was - Brauwers or something like that - does anyone know?? They were saying it was great and was all natural!!

Kristen - LOVE your photos, definately go for it!!! I just love photography too but I'm not any good at it!!

Danni - Hope Mason is feeling better!!

Lulu - Hope the teething is going ok, sooo not looking forward to it. Might have to email you too and get some more formula advice - just need to get my head around it all!!

Michelle - Thanks so much for your support and thoughts - it really helps!! I hope all the coughs have settled down but its great that its not bothering them. Oh yeah, I probably should book in for Luke's 4mth check too!!! Ooopps.

Tan - Enjoy the catch up on the weekend and best of luck for the big needles tomorrow - Luke handled them really well - had a bit of a cry but that was it and he was fine for the rest of the day, it didn't affect him at all.

Big hello's to everyone else!! Well, I think I need to make the most of Luke's sleep, so I'm going to bed early. He's still waking once or twice at night for a feed and doesn't always go back to sleep like he used to. He also thinks 6am is morning, not nice - I just want that extra hour - 7am is fine but 6am is just a bit too early for me!!

Take care everyone and thanks again - all your encouragment means soooo much to me.

Hi everyone. Lots of chatty people to catch up with!!

Ash - I know what you mean about the disappearing teeth. Izzy's are there one day, gone another, and then back again. Poor little thing has a cold now too so she's really suffering. I'm not finding much relief for her either, but the Brauers teething remedy seems to be the best of it. Otherwise, she seems to like me rubbing her gums the best.

Sarah - I wish Izzy would take a dummy. She hasn't taken one since birth, and I really tried when her reflux was so bad. I hope Noah's teeth don't take too long to settle down.

Kristen - your photos are beautiful. I think is a great idea - you're your own boss, you've got flexible hours to fit in with Mia, and it would be so much nicer than being in an office all day long. If I lived over east I'd definitely be getting you to do some photos for me.

Kelly -yay for Mums and Bubs. I was going to go to Hairspray but Izzy's such an unhappy little camper decided not to. Not sure that I can give you any encouraging advice about formula feeding but still expressing so your milk doesn't dry up. When I first put Iz on formula as a trial I expressed at what should have been her normal feeds. I was getting heaps to start with but it very, very quickly dwindled. Don't know if my body knew the difference between a pump and a beautiful little bubby, but I found within a few days that I getting significantly less. As for formulas, email away.

Well, not having much fun over here. Izzy now has a nasty cold to go with her teething so she's really not a happy girl. My MS is pretty full on now so I'm finding it hard to deal with a cranky, snotty, dribbly baby without being sick - yesterday Izzy threw up after a feed and I threw up right along with her (actually on her!!). Poor little mite. I feel so guilty that I'm not playing with her as much as I used to but I just can't at the moment. I really hope it passes soon.

    Yay Olivia!!

Just a quick selfish post from me too! Angus has been so naughty lately I don't know what is going on. He has been up every couple of hours during the night crying and wanting to feed, but is an angel during the day, having regular sleeps and very happy. Is so confusing (maybe he has teething pain also), who knows!!! Dan, glad Olivia took a bottle for ya! I am leaving the kids with Mum for a bit tomorrow while I go out with my preg friend and have a pedicure!! Angus has never had a bottle, so will be interesting! If he is hungry I spose he will take it! I will prob be back before he is due a feed anyway, but am leaving a bottle of EBM anyway. I havent left him with anyone before so hope he is a good boy!! Anyway, I have to clean up this messy house, have been out all weekend and the house is disgusting!!

    Take Care

Quick one here too - sorry, just wanted to find out if anyone knows where my 11 hour a night, self settling baby has gone????

She wakes anywhere from 1-4 times a night to feed and where she used to grizzle herself to sleep during the day - now she goes down screaming til I feed her to sleep. Shes also feeding every 2 hours or so during the day.
Love her to death but shes driving me nuts right now - better be a phase!!! Although its been a 4 week phase so far
Hope you are well - will try to catch up on personals soon!

Tan-Same here with Blake, it must be a phase! I can only feed him to sleep at the moment, and he is waking at least 2 times a night. Won't take a dummy, can't pat him to sleep, nothing. Driving me nuts tooooo!

    OMG ME TOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Ever since Mia had her 4 month injection on Friday last week, she's been a complete and utter pain. She will only sleep in 1 sleep cycle increments (if I can get her to go to sleep at all) and will grizzle and whinge and whine all day and all night..... it's doing my head in. At night, she's waking after each sleep cycle and grizzling for about 20 mins. Every night we've had to settle her at least twice (some taking over an hour to settle her)...AHHHHHHHHHH!!

    Hi ladies,
I think our babies are conspiring (sp?) against us at the moment and testing us all out, yet again. Olivia is doing the same thing as all the other babies here too. I just want her to sleep through the night . We are starting to play with cereal in the morning. I wouldn't say she's eating it but I am putting some on a spoon and she is playing with the spoon. I put some in her mouth and the look on her face is priceless. Everytime! Dave and I are going to try another bottle again either tonight or tomorrow. Fingers crossed she takes it again for us.

Kelly - Hi gorgeous. How is Luke going with his bottles? Are you formula or EBM in his bottles? When is your paed appt? Has his feeding gotten better? I couldn't imagine how hard going it is for you guys at the moment. You are amazing to still have your head above water. Sending you heaps of **hugs**

Ashley - How are you feeling in yourself at the moment with Blake being unsettled? Are you still trying to relactate?

Tan - I wish I knew where your 11 hours self settling baby has gone because I'm positive that my other Olivia is hiding with her and by the sounds of it just about all the May babies. Have you given the bottle another try or are you going to wait until Izzy is more settled? I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the tommy tippee closer to nature ones. I just love Izzy video of her in the bath. It is just gorgeous. Are they just amazing?

Michelle - I don't know how you cope with more than one babe when they are sick or not sleeping/settling. I am struggling with just Olivia and I have no idea how you do it. More importantly than anything enjoy your pedicure and kid free time with your g/f tomorrow. Hope you love being pampered.

Kirsten - Is Mia still taking the bottle for you? Are you still trying to stick with the routine you have set or are you just getting through your days?

Sarah - My gf is getting her little man (3 weeks old) c'ed this friday with the bell that Noah had his. How long did it take for it to fall off? Is Noah still feeding heaps overnight? How's your website going? Have you had your exciting first order?

Lulu - Hi there mummy of 1 and 1/2. How are you feeling with your m/s, settling down? Is Izzy over her cold? Any toothie pegs showing through permamently yet or they still just moving. It is so funny seeing a pg ticker agian. I love it! I'm sure Izzy doesn't mind mummy playing a little bit less at the moment cause her brother/sister is making her feeling yucky. I know it's early but are you going to find out the sex of bubby?

Danni - Hoping that you are feeling okay after your pop's funeral. Have you got a booking day for Mason at sleep school?

Well the time has come that I have to start looking into childcare for Olivia . I don't want her to be in care but I've got no choice. Has anyone else starting looking? I have absolutely no idea what to look for and what kind of questions to ask. How do you tell a good place from a bad place? It is so confusing that I just don't know where to start.
We are off to the MCHN on friday and I'm really looking forward to it so I can check on her weight gain and growth but more importantly ask about these settling/feeding issues. I wonder when our babies will be easy!

Did you end up meeting up on Saturday? If so, how'd it go and are there any photos?

Sending out heaps and heaps of ****settling vibes**** to all of our babies. Fingers crossed they get them and decide to be nice to their mummies.

    Chat soon gorgeous mummies,
    Luv Dan.

    Hi everyone,

I'm sure you have all forgotten about me! I had a quick read to hear how you were all going.

Lulu - I hope the morning sickness eases up for you. You must get exhausted! Isn't teething horrible! Julian screams and kicks me when he is sore. I can see two little points of white on his lower gum. I was quite surprised when I found it.

Tan & Dan - Julian went through a similar phase a couple of weeks ago. I think he was having a growth spurt. Fingers crossed lately he has been good though every day you never know what to expect!

Danni - sorry to hear about your grandpa. I hope you are OK.

Kelly - how are you going? When do you see the paed? You are doing such a great job.

Hi to everyone else. I will catch up eventually. Julian was 5 months yesterday. I couldn't believe that it had sneaked up on me so quickly! I'm really looking forward to his 6 months, that definitely deserves a cake! I've got Julian on a feeding and sleep routine and it has definitely improved my life. He has exzcema (sp?) so I have to be careful with the bath products I use and he gets rashes quite often. I'm starting to think about solids but not too hard! The doctor said if we can hold out to 6 months that would be advisable. We transitioned him from the bassinet to cot over the weekend and after a couple of days of mischief he was fine last night. I hope he stays that way! I think I had more problems with it than he did, My heart felt like it was going to break not having him sleep next to me Oh well I guess we all have to let go abit sometime!

    Take care,
    Jan

    Hello!

Jan - so great to hear from you!! I'm glad all is going well.

Dan - Congrats on Olivia taking a bottle, I hope she keeps it up for you!! Thanks for asking about me too - I'll give an update below!!

Tan - Luke has just gone through an unsettled week too - he's really good again this week though, so maybe it is just a growth spurt!! I still think you're lucky to have just had 11 hours of sleep - I'm still desperately waiting for something even close to that!! Luke still wakes at about 2am every night!!! If I'm lucky thats it though, so nothing to complain about.

Lulu - Haven't had a chance to email you yet but we're sorting out the formula issues. Do you make up bottles in advance and put them in the fridge - then just heat up when you need them?? I'm still working out a routine for that. And do you just heat them in hot water like ebm?? All very complicated!! I'm finding Luke doesn't like to take all the formula either but I guess it's heavier than ebm. I'm only giving him formula twice a day so far but hoping to increase it in coming weeks.

Sorry, don't have time for any more personals but I hope everyone is well.

OK, so I've been back to the paed who made everything sound so normal and ok. He said that Luke obviously doesn't want the boob anymore and to not take it personally. It's quite common at about 4 months as they get lazy and the bottle is easier for them. I actually don't think Luke ever bf properly, as it's a different sucking action and he NEVER latched on correctly - he was just lucky that I had such fast flowing milk and now its all just too much for him. So, I'm doing the right thing by introducing formula but will try and give him as much ebm as I can until I run dry!! My right boob is almost dry already, as he's been refusing it for a while now but the left one is KILLING me - its so full and hard. I'm reluctant to express too much as it will keep the milk flowing but am also worried about mastitis - can't win!! We'll get there though! I'm still bf'ing him three times a day, giving him ebm in a bottle once and formula twice!! I'm still praying that he cuts out the 2am bf but so far no such luck!!

Anyway, the paed also wants to take him off the Zantac and see how he goes. We're hoping he will have grown out of the reflux but I'm not holding my breathe, its still been there on and off, even with the Zantac but we'll give it a go, would be nice to get him off it!!!

Well, better go, have to try and sort something out for dinner - have had a busy day cleaning the house!!! Oh and one of my friends is being induced tomorrow night - we'll have another bub around - yay!!! Can't wait to hear all the details.

hey guys...i posted last night but for some reason it disappeared??

basically i said that yes it is a phase of the bubs not sleeping as well.

Mason has been sleeping like hell for the past 6 weeks and is only starting to get better now. So your bubs should be following suit shortly.

Mason FINALLY took some formlua tonight for the first time. I have been trying for a while and he just flat out refused. Tonight i mixed EBM with it and among a lot of tears...and much screaming....he finally gave in and drank the whole bottle.

I feel so guilty, but anything to try and get some extra hours in his sleep tonight

    to everyone...but good night xx
