Well im assuming that everyone is either on holidays or just too damn tired!! lol
Have had a couple tiring days with Kaden's wind so got some Infant's Friend which he absolutely hates the taste of, makes him do some ripper farts!! He seems to be settling a bit better, he isnt a cryer at all but does make the pain faces and tenses up etc. and will wake about 2 mins after putting him down. So I pick him up, he does a couple of little burps, then goes back to sleep. Repeats this about 3 or 4 times before he actually has a decent sleep. Even then he will wake after 1.5 - 2.5 hours.
Today I started bottle feeding him (EBM) as the flow from my boobs is so fast that he cant keep up and chokes and splutters all the time which i think might be causing the wind issues. It also gives DP the chance to take part also which he loves!!
Just wondering about the amount of milk I should be feeding him. The first bottle I expressed 160mL (only took 10 mins off one boob with manual pump!!) to see how much he would drink, guzzled down the whole thing!! Have been reading a few other posts that suggests he should only be drinking around 120mL. Is it possible to overfeed at all? I figured that he will stop when he has had enough. He definately seems to drink more from a bottle than my boob. He has put on alot of weight tho, even fits into some of his 00 clothes!! My MIL said that DP was a huge guzzler when he was a baby. I have been writing the times and how much he drinks to see what the overall daily mL's are.
Other than that, things seem to be going pretty good. Had a lovely christmas. Went to my sisters for brekky and lunch, then off to FIL's for dinner. Too wet to go anywhere else. Hope that everyone else had a great day!
Eza - sounds like you are having the same issues as we are with wind and sleep! i was actually thinking of trying infants friend - but with breast feeding how do u give it? do u give it with EBM in a bottle?
As for how much they should be drinking i have no idea - but i agree that he will stop when he has had enough! he could also be going through a growth spurt! but its interesting to hear that he is having 160mls! i have been manually expressing some milk for when i have appointments with my follow through mums and DH may have to look after Em but all i have been getting is about 60-70mls! guess i better keep stocking up heaps more!!! LOL

I have just been giving the Infants Friend to him via dropper.. You can add it to the bottle but I'm afraid he won't drink it because he hates the tastes of it. The face he pull makes me giggle a little bit.
As for the new year.. I am not going anywhere. Have been very busy over the last couple weeks so am aiming to stay at home for a while so i can get Kaden into more of a routine. I put him down about half hour ago and he was still unsettled but i decided to leave him in the bassinet and he eventually settled himself.. Have been tempted to give him the dummy to soothe him but dont really want to go down that path. Maybe I should stop mothering him so much. Can't help it tho.. He loves being snuggled and its too cute.
Also the amount of times I started reading your birth story and have gotten interupted.. Hopefully I will get through it this time
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have been so tempted to give Em the dummy also! but nope im determined not too! we can support each other on that one hahahahah

Have u tried putting Kaden to sleep on his belly? have been doing that with Emily for her day naps (that way i can keep checking on her) and she loves it and sleeps for ages! i end up having to wake her!
No I haven't tried putting him on his belly yet. Will give it a go. He seems to like it when I lay him belly down across my lap to burp him.
He has been sleeping very well today so I have been able to catch up on sleep also yay!! Poor DP.. I have been so moody towards him.. Told him I would have a drink with him tonight, have extra supply of milk handy in the fridge
Hi girls! Even though our fashionably late little lady has me belonging in a Dec group, I can't keep up with them!
Nellie is a tummy or side sleeper for sure, she loves it. Even when we do put her down on her back, she eventually flips to her side, if not straight away. She also loves to lie along my arm on her tummy while I sit on the fit ball to bounce her off to sleep.
She's feeding really well, but we do have occasional issues with the right hand side - I think she just doesn't like lying on her left. So we are trying some different feeding positions to see if that helps.
We had a shocker of a time getting her to sleep tonight. She had her bath, then was having a feed, but lasted three minutes before coming off screaming. We did a few house laps, and she eventually settled, lying on my arm, but not for long as she was hungry again, and then just fed and fed and fed. The comfort sucked for aaaaaaaaages, and finally doped off in bed. She's a born sucker, but I am also fighting the dummy!
Problem is, when she doped off in bed, she wasn't in her night nappy! So have to brave changing her at some point. I've had two great nights in a row, so should probably just harden up!
Wow.. sounds like a few of us are having problems with wind... we are aswell. I've been trying Infacol with Campbell and just give it to him before each breastfeed. I'm also having issues with fast flowing milk and poor Cambpell has trouble keeping up with it. He's generally pretty good (better than DS1 was).. but when he does pull off early in a feed we have milk squirting everywhere.. not a good look - LOL!! I'm hoping it will settle down (although it didn't with DS1 so won't hold my breathe)!! So I don't have trouble expressing either.. but am trying not to as I don't want to increase my supply anymore.. although I have got a nice little supply in the freezer already!!
We were trying to hold off the dummy too but had to give in a few weeks ago.. the wind and tummy pains got too much to handle and I just couldn't keep feeding him (he's MASSIVE already)... so he's got the dummy now and I have to say it's been a life saver.. he's much happier with it (and so are we)!!!
I had my post bub check up with the OB today and can't stop laughing at her comments about Campbell.. she couldn't believe how big he is already!! Her exact words "Oh my god".. followed by "I didn't deliver that baby"!!! LOL. All good though and I'm recovering from the c-section fairly well. Still have a bit of pain every now and again but you get that!! She also told me just how scary it was after they did the spinal block.. she said that another couple of seconds and my heart would have stopped and they would of had to commence CPR.. very scary indeed. Lucky we had a very experienced anethaesist (sp?). Still finding it hard coming to terms with all that and thankful that I'm here to enjoy my gorgeous boys!! So definitely no more kids for us!! Which is good.. we only ever wanted the two and I'm really happy with two boys!! They're the best!!
Anyway must go.. the little man has just woken.. after only a 40 minute sleep.. not enough little one but you get that! We're still waking a fair bit at night too... so I'm very tired.
