kazzo! Sounds like you have had a tough few weeks hun! I hope it gets better... We all have really off weeks sometimes (well I know I do lol) but I really do hope you can get those issues sorted so you can get past it! Not fun, especially when it's where health & comfort is concerned
Wow to Macey going to dc though! That's a big step!! She was so adventurous last time I saw her so I can imagine she'd love all that play time! It's good you're just taking each day as it comes & working out whether she likes it or not. How does it feel to have a few hours of Mum only time? Bet it's just a tease lol. And how is life for you with a 1 year old and toddler hey :P I wonder if it will get easier as they get older with 2, I'd imagine so anyway.
Damian is going well. He's such a big boy now!!! Gone are the days of lots of holding & sling wearing & sitting on my lap. He's one very enthusiastic & thrill seeking baby lol he just loves getting into everything & everywhere - i just do not know where they get all their energy from lol. Life changed soo much & so quickly when he became fully mobile with his crawling & cruising. Once they work something out then it's all full steam ahead from there isn't it lol! We have started gymbaroo lessons (well have been to 1 as part of our trial) and he seems to love it. Well, playtime that is, NOT mat time (he just screams lol, not one for sitting still now :P). Haven't been to the mothers group much as I just haven't been able to click with any of the mums, but go sometimes just so Damian can have some crawl time away from home in an open place, so he can explore etc. We will be starting swimming lessons soon I hope, I have been meaning to but always forget to book myself in lol. Still not a very good sleeper lol waking up every few hours, but I manage. Would kill for a solid block of sleep lol but I guess you kinda just go with the flow really. Wow to macey being down to 2 feeds too! You may find she'll continue on those for a while for the comfort factor too maybe, I know of a lot of toddlers that just do the 2 for a long time, but who knows I guess! Bet you were happy to get past 9 months anyhow gosh Damian still breastfeeds so much, i think you're right in us making it to the 2 year mark for sure! But I guess nothing is certain with these little ones is it hehe. They always surprise you.
When things calm down for you & you start to feel better I'd love to catch up if you come down my way sometime. I hope you & your family are having a great weekend
And if any other BB group Mummies come past this thread again one day.. HELLO and please share an update on how you & your babies are, we miss you! (but I've pretty much lost faith in that happening... You have disappeared, ladies, why!!) lol.
How have you been? We have been super busy and the weeks are just flying. Had my best friends wedding on Sunday, now that that is over everything is quiet until Christmas. I have nearly finished all my shopping, just a few things left. We will be putting the tree up on Thursday, M was facinated by a friends so it will be interesting to see how she goes with wanting to always touch it.
Damian sounds like he has really gained some independance. That is really good. M is a little girl now too, gone is my little bubba. She has started to wean herself, just like A did. At least I got this far. She does not want to be BF before bed now so we are down to just the early morning BF. My poor boobs though, I am hoping they catch on quick smart. My lefty is killing me at the moment. M just wants to copy A with everything and wants milk in a sippy cup like A and wants to lay down on her little lounge to drink it. It is really cute to see them.
M swimming is going so great too, she loves it. She loves jumping into the water to me. She has had 2 days at DC now. They say she likes it, if she gets a little upset they send A in to her and she is all happy again. She does get a little clingy for a couple of days but then when I take her down she gets all excited.
Gee they really are not babies anymore.
Have you got your Christmas presents all sorted. It will be here before we know it. I got the girls Santa photo yesterday (I will add it to the album for you to see soon). I was expecting M to cry but she has the biggest smile A gave her funny forced smile but still looks cute.
Hows Gymbaroo going? Sounds like some fun.It is a shame that MG is not that great for you. It can be hard finding people to click with, but like you said, atleast he gets to play a little.
Well I am off to bed, I am still recovering from our very busy weekend (also had a 21st to go to on Saturday night).
Sorry it's taken me a while to write back on here, (it's good we've been keeping in touch other ways though), but I just wanted to get on to my computer, (as I'm always on my iPhone) so I could have a look at the photos you posted with santa but i can't seem to find them in your album. Hmm.
So, how's Macey going with the tree touching? Damian has his moments in times of boredom, but for the most part he's pretty good and has stopped touching it, and actually listens when we say no - wow! lol, well for the most part anyway, sometimes it's like a game Has Macey weaned off breastfeeding yet? I bet you are really happy to have gotten this far regardless of what happens now. Over 1 year is such an acheivement - we should both give ourselves a pat on the back So does Amelia understand the concept of Santa now? Is she all excited for Christmas, I bet? Can't wait til Damian gets to that stage, how fun!
I have done all my Christmas shopping, finally! Now I've got DH's birthday to think about in Jan and my aunties 50th in beginning of Feb. Oh when does it end lol. So what are your plans for Christmas this year? We are going to my mothers brothers house Christmas Eve and doing the relative thing then, but have organised to just have a quiet Christmas Day as a family, having a BBQ and hopefully a swim in our new blow up family sized pool (haha sounds like fun) my auntie got us for Christmas (puts our Santa present for Damian to shame, its a kid sized giraffe blow up pool lol). With gymbaroo - Damian was way too restless during mat time and really didn't enjoy that part of it, which was half the class. He just seemed a little advanced for it tbh, and they said to move him up to a walkers class but they're all in the early morning and we can't make it cos Damian tends to sleep in lol so no gymbaroo atm either and I've given up on mg, it just didn't work out. Mmmm so I'll try & see if there is anything else around in the new year but have had no luck finding anything so far. He loves going to those play centres where he can have free play on everything so maybe I could consider those places more, but i have to be careful cos of the older kids etc. Do you do any scheduled activities for Macey?
I'd love to hear an update on how you & the girls are, even when we catch up next but for now I want to wish you a Merry Christmas & hope you enjoy your celebrations and I really look forward to catching up in the new year (ps I sent you mail yesterday).
I LOVE shortbread. Thankyou so much, I got it 5 minutes ago and I put the kettle on straight away and have had half the packet already. The girls loved the book too. Very cute. Again thankyou so much. I sent something to you on Friday, gosh I hope you get it.
M still wants her 5am BF and so far shows no signs of stopping so I am happy to keep going till she does I am very happy that we got this far and that it was her choice when she wanted to stop. I am so happy to be wearing normal bras during the day though
Every now and then M goes for the tree but she stops when I say no too which is good. A has a small idea of Christmas and that something big is happening this weekend but she gets confused because then she starts telling everyone it will be her birthday She gets super excited whenever she sees a Santa though. On Christmas day we will go to DH familys Christmas lunch and then see my family on boxing day. Then we have a rest day and then a friends little boys 2nd birthday party, so a few busy days but I love this time of year spending it with family and close friends.
Your weekend sounds lovely though, I have not had a quiet Christmas since I could walk I think. Damian will have more fun in the little pool I think anyway. That is a shame about Gymbaroo but it is better doing something he enjoys 100% then sticking with something he does not like much. Maybe you could look at some toddler music classes, I just don't know where you would start looking.
We were doing swimming lessons on a Monday, shopping and a park on Tuesdays, Amelia at DC Wednesdays so Me and M got a day together, Thursdays library storytime and a play at home day and now Fridays both girls at DC so I spend it cleaning. A really likes have structure so I try and keep it like that for her, but she does cope fine when things get changed around.
I forgot all about the santa photo, I will do it right now
Merry Christmas to you and your family too and I hope it is a lovely day for you. Iwill keep in contact. Was thinking about coming out your way either 1st or 2nd week of the new year
Awwww I'm soo glad you all like your prezzies!! The shortbread is so yummy hey
Omg jealous on the normal bra thing!! Ahhhh that would be sooo good. That's one thing I will love when the time comes that Damian is ready to stop breastfeeding, normal bras - wooo! That's good for you. I just can't imagine what 1 feed a day would be like, Damian still wakes up soo many times at night to feed! Arghh. Ah well, I'm sure it will sort itself over time.
That is sooo cute about Amelia and Christmas! Yeah I love having some quality family time over Christmas just us, it's not often DH is home for that long as he works full time. I have tried my local library for story time - none. and I can't seem to find any music classes around either - I know he would love that. Ah well, search isn't over lol. In the meantime just gotta keep being creative at home.
OMG the photo is soooooooooooo adorable!!!! I'm getting Damian's first Santa photo done tomorrow (he didn't have one last year as he was waay to unsettled at that age). I'm really looking forward to it. So cute!
I'd love to see you then - whenever you can, I know this time of year is crazy, hopefully the start of the new year is much more relaxed
Just a quick hello and merry christmas to you and your familys. Wow only a couple of days away, i cant wait to have Dylan open his presents. Its really like his first christmas he can actually do things now so it will be great!
Baby update - everything is going great, we have had 3 scans where they said girl so kind of getting excited about that still have some doubt lol Bub is soooo active compared to Dylan, she kicks around flat out which is very reassuring. Looks like we are going to have another big bub, so far the weight is 5 pound 3 and in top 91%, so im thinking will get a least 8 pound might even hit 10 pound this time lol We have been given the ok to have baby at home which is GREAT!!!! and if all goes well and i dont go early we will have her on valentines day - best pressie ever!
Dylan is going great too, he really is a little boy now, no more baby lol He has FINALLY started sleeping unbroken - he usually goes down around 7:30-8:30 and sleeps till about 6ish so i get good sleep now. Just in time to start the no sleeping for next bub lol How many naps do your little ones have during the day? he was having a morning and arvo nap but now only seems to go for morning. he fights the arvo nap so much.
I hope you and your familys have a happy and safe christmas and new year. xxoo
ah yes, they really aren't babies anymore are they, my gosh! So glad to hear Dylan is going well, and woohoo to sleeping through the night! My Damian generally has 2 naps a day but on the odd day like today he's only had one, but that's not too much of a bad thing because it generally means he'll go down to sleep earlier (my cheeky bum is a little night owl lol).
That's great that your pregnancy is going so well, how nice that you may have your little girl after all, (then you'll have a pigeon pair, hehe). Anymore after this next one?
All the best to you also and many happy wishes for a wonderful Christmas and new year to you and your family
ETA: ooh tammara, I forgot to mention.... YAY to the birthing at home!!! Aww I know how much that means to you, I bet you're soo relieved I'm even considering a home birth for when I have another bub some time in the (not for a few years yet) future there's an awesome homebirth thread in here you can join too. Sending lots of good luck to you for a wonderful birth too!

Great to hear from you Tammara and with such great news on all accounts. It is great you will get some good sleep in before your little (well maybe not little) girl arrives. Are you naming her Maddison? I am reaaly happy that you don't have to travel for the CS. I hope it all goes smoothly for you and what a romantic birthdate.
Danni, how did the Santa photo go? I hope you got one. Tammara is not having a homebirth, she is having a C-section at her local hospital so she does not have to travel to the bigger hospital this time.
M got an early present of 2 more bottom teeth. So now all up she has 8 teeth. She is walking so well now. She has been walking a little for the last month but choosing to crawl more because it is faster but now she will try and walk everywhere more. She is a climber too. She gets up our play thing out the back so easily and moves her little chair around everywhere inside to climb on things. She can climb onto my bed so she is always in there. M started only having 1 nap a day when she was about 10months old, she will usually nap for about 2.5 hours though. She wakes most nights at about 1am but normally goes straight back to sleep.
Have a good Christmas ladies and I hope Santa is really kind to you all.
Wow kazzo!! YAY to the walking!! I soo thought that was a long time coming judging from how mobile she already was when we last saw each other! I bet having Amelia around probably encourages it too. Has much changed since she started walking, like is it harder for you? I keep hearing oh you'll never catch them and they can change completely when they have the independence of walking, but I'm not sure whether to believe it lol.
Yes Damian had his Santa photo and CRIED. lol oh dear. He was fine at first then started checking out who this crazy looking person is that he is sitting on then lost it lol. So we have a sad face Santa photo haha (the people weren't helpful at all trying to distract or make the kids happy though- grrr) but then DH & I decided to do a family one so he looks a bit better sitting on Mummy's lap instead, but still not very impressed lol, we spent a small fortune though on the photo packages and frame, as it's all very exciting getting the first santa photo!
Oops re the homebirth thingy - someone got a bit carried away lol. I just thought of that when she said she had been given the clear to have bub at home but now I remember what she means, lol
HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE!! yay how exciting. Today we are finishing the cleaning of the house (oh not so exciting, yuck I hate cleaning haha) and buying our seafood for tomorrow's feast (not looking forward to the rat race) before the celebrations begin tonight! Have a lovely time everyone, and let's hope this weather stays bright and sunny for a change
Hi, Well our BF journey is over. I am having some big issues with my period and I have had to take some meds that I can't BF while taking. M did not even bat an eyelid when I offered her a cup of milk yesterday morning instead of breast so I feel good about it. In a way I am glad too that I did not know that Saturday mornings BF was going to be our last at the time so I could not sit there dwelling on it.
M had been walking a little bit for a while, but crawling alwys got her around faster so she would not walk much, then one day she just started walking everywhere and now she does not stop. I don't believe the whole you can't catch them, I think it is harder to keep them away because they follow you everywhere
It is noce having a family Santa photo I think. A great memory. We had really lovely photo takers so I think we were lucky otherwise I think M would have freaked. I do think that it is a skill to take photo's of babies/kids and some people just don't have it.
I hope you had a lovely new year eve/day. We went to a BBq but were home by 11pm. I stuggled to stay awake till midnight and I gave DH a quick kiss and we both feel asleep. I have never been a big new years eve partier and now having kids means I don't need excusses anymore
I have been having some mobile problems. My silly phone keeps turning itself off for no reason so I will take it to get looked at tomorrow so if you have sent me any sms I have not been able to see them. Oh and I got a lovely coffee machine for Christmas which I pick up tomorrow. I CAN'T WAIT. I hate instant but love real coffee.
