How are you both going? hope the children are all doing well and growing lovely.
Danni - hope your cut is healing well, i cant imagine how sore it would be and to answer your question about falling - Dylan falls over all the time specially when he is tired. He usually bounces back though. Ive found that if i just pick him up and play or laugh it makes him less likely to get sooky about it. But when he is tired i do give cuddlles and usually bed time. My main fear is our wood heater but he has been pretty good with it he hardly goes near it - we do have a guard around it but i worry that will still get hot on him.
Kazz - How is the bottle/cup going? we are trying to get Dylan to use sippy cups but he isnt overly keen on them. Will just have to keep trying
Not much has changed here with us, Dylan has started to splash soooooo much in the bath he loves it. Unfortunately i get covered in water lol So far so good about having the baby down here, the Dr just wants me to see the anethatist first then i will get a yes or no. There should be no probs because ive had 3 surgerys in the last few years and the c section last year with no problems at all.
Kazz - Doesn't 2 months make a big difference at this age! My gosh how they have all grown and change in the last 10 months is unbelievable! Damian is the same in that he won't take a sippy cup or anything, usually the most success we get with him drinking liquids at all is by hand feeding him a regular cup so he sees us drinking and does the same thing, but his constipation is back and he is refusing any type of liquids which is driving me crazy (water, juice etc) so I really hope it's a phase. Obviously he's still bf though which is good for hydration but not enough. So, good to hear Macey is still breastfeeding though... you made it way past the time with Amelia, how are you finding it? .... Just saw the photo of Macey Yes that looks more like the baby in the other photos hehe she's so cute! Now that looks more like Damian's age
Tammara - Ouch to the falls lol, do his fingers get stuck in things? I get sooo scared when he tries to open drawers as all he does is almost get his fingers caught, I wonder if they ever learn lol. That's good you're so confident and able to let him do it all by himself and just sit back and watch, that's still a learning process for me hehe I'm a bit protective I think :P And Damian LOVES splashing like mad in the bath too, he's been doing it for weeks and yes it does get quite wet doesn't it hehe. Good news re the birth - how are you feeling with this pregnancy? Are you feeling heavy or uncomfortable yet?
AFM... Thanks for asking girls... my nipple has STILL not healed! It is definitely getting better and isn't painful anymore which is good, so all signs of infection have gone but OMG it just won't stay sealed. I go for nearly 24 hours without feeding and it looks closed, but as soon as he feeds again it re-opens. It's been a week now so obviously my supply has dropped HEAPS and I just want it to stay friken closed lol. But the worst is over so that's the main thing I guess. The salt rinses and lanolin have been what has helped immensely. I'm just at a loss of what to do now.
Had a really tough night with Damian last night. He wouldn't sleep for aaaaages and kept being really upset and crying, even though he was obviously tired. I can see his gums have changed shape up the top so I think his teeth are moving in his gums and getting ready to come through. Should get the amber necklace ready.
Damian has started blowing bubbles in cups and now in the bath hehe so cute... he waves, claps and hi-fives and copies sounds. He is really good at doing things with his fingers (pressing butons etc). He loves grabbing onto everything to try and stand and even from sitting he lunges forward on all fours and gets into the position (feet flat on floor) ready to stand! So close hehe. But I still can't see him walking anytime soon either, he has always been really good with being on his feet from a few months old but he doesn't have the balance yet.
Also... has anyone elses bub started throwing mini tantrums????? LOL i think I'm gonna have a tough gig with this little man hahaha!! When I take something away from him that he's enjoying or something like that, he will just randomly scream and throw his arms around etc for about 10 secs lol like full tantrum style. Oh boy I know he has a strong personality but really????? haha I hope I'm not the only one in the world this is happening to haha.
So yes, at the moment we are in a bit of a rough patch - constipation & teething troubles but hopefully this will pass soon!
Tantrums, YES! A is not a tantrum thrower but M sure is. If you take any food away from her before she is done, even her plate and spoon then starts, if you take her off the swing, trampoline, slide before she is ready she starts, if I am to slow undoing my bra she starts, if I am walking around the house and she is trying to follow but can't keep up she starts and if we close a door she is trying to go through she starts. Luckily she only throws very short tantrums, lasts about 20 seconds, she realises it is getting her nowhere and she stops
I have found one bottle that she likes to drink water from It is a Nuby one. I found (thanks to her sister sharing her juice) that she will drink from a straw, I hope that is was not the fact that it was juice that made her do it though. So I am going to buy one of the Heinze straw cups and see if she likes that.
Tammara, that is great that everything seems likely to happen close to home this time. M goes crazy in the bath, luckily DH baths the girls so he gets drenched
We had a really unsettled night here too with M, she was waking every half hour so she just slept with us. I think she might of had a tummy ache because her #2 this morning was horrendous
When she was in her cot in our room, it was right up against my bed and I had removed the drop rail so her matress was right up against mine (same height too) so when she could crawl she would wake up and just crawl on over to me. If is was not for DH snoring she would still be in with us. DH is away all of Oct so she may just be back for a while.
I hope Damian has a better night, teething can be hard on some babies. Luckily so far both my girls have had it easy, although I know the worst teeth are still to come.
Hehe, I just looked over and A has fallen asleep on the lounge, I tried getting her to have a nap but she refused and now 10 minutes later she is fast alseep with M trying to reach her. Just wish I could get them to have naps at the same time.
LOL wooohoooo... another little tantrum thrower hehe!! Sounds just like my little man
That's a great idea how you had the beds set up in your room... Damian still sleeps in a hammock but I want to wean him off that (and the rocking, as it hardly seems to work these days) sometime soon and get him in the cot (don't know how on earth he would fall asleep in there as he refuses to sleep unless he's being fed or a mixture of rocking, singing, bouncing - you name it). But I guess I better not do it too soon as the whole house move thing wouldn't be easy on him with all this change but you've given me some ideas for how I will try the bed set up one of these days... How do you get Macey to sleep? Is she the type of baby that will just happily fall asleep lying down when she is tired? I bet she is... hehe lucky you.
Hope Macey feels better soon too. OMG poos these days STINK!!! I sooo miss the exclusively breastfeeding days... his poos then seem like heaven now! LOL
My girls are alseep at the same time, I can't believe I just said it would be nice and that is what happened Yay for me. Now I can have a HOT cuppa in peace.
Yeah M is a pretty good going to sleeper, it is just the staying asleep part she is not to good at. If she is really tired then all I do is put her down and that is it, sometimes I stand there and pat her back for a couple of minutes. If she is fighting sleep a bit I cuddle her and put her down just as she is dropping off so she knows she is getting put to bed IYKWIM. When her cot was next to my bed I could lay down next to her, upper body on her cot and slowly move away.
Must be all the good luck vibes on this thread Kazz
Yeah I quietly slip away once Damian has fallen asleep feeding... some days are easier than others!
And I was just thinking... I was told by my naturopath that goats milk is much more nutritious for babies then cows milk and a little more like human milk in uts composition so just thought I'd let you know in case you wanted to give it a go. Apparently it's good for constipation so I may go out tomorrow and try some for Damian...
Hope everyones babies are well Have a great night.
Hey tammara... Not sure where you live (I *think* you've mentioned Sydney before but sorry if I'm wrong lol) but just in case I wanted to let you know that kazz and I are in the process of organising a meet up in my area (out penrith way) and if you do live anywhere around I'd love for you to come so we can all meet each other for the first time after over a year of sharing our journeys!!
Ahhh bub is calling (man this daylight saving thing is driving me nuts lol but I must say I do love it).
Catch up soon ladies - hope everyone is well!!!

So far I have had nomtrouble with the girls adjusting to DLS thankfully, I am sure once it heats up more though it will change.
DH left last Saturday for the states. So far so good, except M has been having shocking nights sleep the last 3 nights. She goes down her usual time, about 7pm sleeps great till around 11-12 and then she has been waking every 45min or so. By about 4am I bring her in with me. I can see 2 more bottom teeth sitting there ready to break through so I think that may be the reason.
Otherwise we are going great. Going away for the night next Monday night, to Canberra to see floriade and then to batemans bay for the night in a beach front cabin A will love it. We will then go to Mogo zoo on the way home. I have got my bestie coming with me, she is M godmother too
I also have to go have the return to work chat with my boss I guess soon, I only want 2 or 3 days a week, but 2 would be best. A wants to keep going to DC and I think M will enjoy it too, she has really opened up over the last month or so, not such a mummies girl. When I drop A off M gets so excited watching all the kids playing. I would actually like to wait till next year to go back to work so I might just put M in for a half day once a week at first. I don't know what to do really.
Maybe I could give goats milk a try, I hand raised my dog on it and she did great
Ohhhh that's right (I remember now about the hospital)... Its actually Heidi that lives in Sydney lol... Makes me wonder how all those ladies are we havent spoken to in ages are...
OMG kazz I feel your pain Damian has been not sleeping til like 1am some nights and some nights waking at like 3am for a few hours... It's soo exhausting but I can also see his two top front teeth sitting there about to come through. We went to the baby expo in the city on the weekend and poor bub was crying in pain so we really didn't get to enjoy the time (very unusual for him to be like that out & about). Damian has always been a late sleeper late waker which I'm really struggling to change lol so DLS has only made that worse lol...
And talking of the little man... Gotta go but I'll be back to finish later
Have a great day ladies

..... I'm back ! He's still asleep. Wow that holiday sounds awesome kazz! I bet you're so excited I'd soo love to be going there! Sounds like some fun girls time. Good luck with your going back to work plans. That's fantastic your employer is flexible. I personally still feel damian is too young for dc and dont think he'd do well wifh any lengthy time away from me atm... But obviously every baby Is different! Would love to hear how she goes if you decide to send her.. Didn't Amelia go around this age? And wow your DH has gone for aaaages!
We are actually taking Damian up the coast to a beachside holiday house for a family holiday on his 1st birthday as he just loves the water so I know he is going to love it! Can't wait for that!! Have bought some prezzies for him but am not sure what big things to get him yet... Hmm. Maybe I need to go to a toy shop or something lol. He has so much already!
Duty calls...

Only a few days and your little boy is 1 danni. How exciting. I hope you have a lovely time away and Damian enjoys his big day. Have you got all his presents sorted.
M are all sorted now. We call her MooMoo so I ordered a cow necklace and earings for her as a main present and then just some toys and a new shelf thingy for her toys (not an exciting present). We have a family and few friends party next Sunday for her. Her Godmother is buying her a blow up pool so she will no doubt spend all day in there. She LOVES the water too.
Let me know when you are back and I will come for a drive out again
Hey kazz thanks for thinking of me! Yes OMG I just cannot believe my baby is 1 on Wednesday!!!! Wow! So looking forward to the beach holiday, we are leaving tomorrow he's really crawling around and getting into everything so will need to be careful as its a double story beach house.
yep prezzies are definitely all sorted, just need to wrap them LOL. He's getting a keepsake poem, a "first year" framed print with a photo of him every month of his first year, a bag of blessings that has little stones/crystals for protection, happiness etc with a poem. And for the fun stuff... A ball coupe (with all those little balls you jump around in inside a blow up car thing) bubble machine, puppet & name blocks.
Would so love to catch up again soon can't believe christmas is now only around the corner too! And not long at all until Macey's birthday either. Are you having a party for her?
We are going out for lunch on Saturday with some relatives and will do a cake there.

Hi Danni. Hope you had a lovely time away and Damian enjoyed his birthday. We had a fantastic day yeasterday, thank you for thinking of us
Could not have asked for a better day, except maybe for my arm not to be hurting, I have an old injury and it is really playing up at the moment
On Wednesday I am heading out to Penrith with my mum to meet up with a friend and her kids for earlish lunch if you wanted to join us. I am not exactly sure yet but can let you know tonight if you are interested.
Oh great, will talk all about it when we meet up. I am supposed to go to mothers group mid morning Wednesday but I'm happy not to but if you could just let me know (you can reply or send me a text/email) what time and where I'll let you know for sure if I can... But should be fine ATM

sorry, i have been meaning to reply all night and just could not find 2 minutes to do it. We are going to go to some markets near panthers in the morning and then somewhere for lunch, I still don't know where yet but I will call my mum in the morning and find out and text you.
Hey Danni, how have you been? How is life with a 1year old?
We have had a interesting few weeks. First my arm has been really bad, then my tooth then all this week the girls have had high temps with no other symptoms. Yesterday they got a rash so I know it was Roseola. Thankfully they are all better. My tooth is fixed and I can eat and drink whatever I like again. I saw my surgeon yesterday and have been refered to a ortho that deals with nerves too. I don't think they will risk taking my plate out though to be honest, the risk of damaging the nerve is to high. Will see I guess.
M has started Day care for 1 day a week for a few hours, everytime I dropped A off she would play a little and cry when I picked her up to go so I decided that just for a few hours a week wont hurt. Yesterday was her first day and she did alright. She got a little upset but when she saw A she was fine. I really was not prepared to start her this early but she was giving me the signs that she wanted to. Will see how she goes and if she does not look to be injoying it anymore I will just pull her out.
We are down to 2 BF now. One in the morning and one a night (both sides). All by her choice. Makes me wonder if she will wean herself soon. I am just happy to have made it this far after A self weaning at 9months
