Tara for you? Knitting, reading, listening to an ipod, cross stitch, scrapbooking, painting, drawing, playing with photography....

    For bubs? reading stories, massage...

    Our night routine is dinner/bath/quiet play/breastfeed/tooth brush/story/bed

We start around 5pm and everyone eats together most nights, then quiet play is usually with a DVD on for Matilda as well as playdough or puzzles something not encouraging running around. I feed Jovie and then we go to the girls room after teeth & read stories and get into bed. Most nights Jovie is in bed by now (not tonight though) and Matilda doesn't go to bed for another hour or so.

Gosh Christy, no wonder your knackered! I don't know what I 'd do if my crew weren't in bed by 7.30. That's during the week though. they have an early start at 6, so they are usually looking for it. They go to bed at 7, read for half an hour, then lights out. Aston goes down between 6.30 and 7.00.

blanche NO toothpaste!!, just water on a baby brush is fine, you can use kids paste but cant remember from what age, maybe 2 or so, no adult paste until she can spit it out which will be a few years yet!!

i was told u can do it before teeth come with a wet cloth.

    found this too:
Just brush the teeth gently on both the outside and inside surfaces twice a day. Brush his/her tongue as well (if they will let you) to dislodge the bacteria that can cause bad breath. One quick swipe is enough.

blanche is spot ona cloth is fine otherwise just give chelsea the brush to chew onin the bath or something, that way she still gets used tothe feeling of the brush in her mouth, dont force the issue though

God I'm furious!!! My big kids father would definately have to get the Worst father of the year award. I just got an email from him informing me that he will not be picking them up on Friday night, but on Saturday morning. (in direct breach of the court orders that are in place) this is only the second time he has had them this year!!!! arghhhhhhhhhhhhh. I swear he is not interested in them at all.

    Sorry.

ah Vicky thats awful, didn't he do that last time as well?? I would be angry for them too.

I use water and both a cloth & a brush, just getting her used to it really. I started a week after her first tooth came through. Matilda has such issues with us brushing her teeth I thought it wouldn't hurt starting early with Jovie getting used to it as part of our night routine. Plus, Matilda has a suspect tooth & I'm now ultra paranoid (waiting a visit to the tooth fairy dentist).

yep - your right he did the same thing. I'm trying very hard, but not succeeding very well, not to be upset, but its put me right into a downer. I'm so tired of it all - and its never going to be any different. I have to come to some reconciliation that this is the way it is, and try not to expeed energy on it. It creates so much tension between DH and I as well, because he gets so angry for the kids too... sigh...

Oh Vicky, i wish i could say or do something to help! my girlfriend has 8 children and is divorced, 6 of the kids are still dependant and all he has to pay is $20 a month!! thats all the child support he has to pay cos he's on "disability". what a load of crap.
the system is absolutely f**ked, it favours the wrong kind of people etc etc..i'm sure i'm preaching to the choir!
