    hidey ho girls...

sorry I have be so remiss in posting. I have been reading, just too buggered to type...

managed to get out this week! YAY!! and aston has had two great days of play dates. Went down to see Nelly yesterday - it was her birthday - poor chicken is as sick as a dog!!! Aston and Jake had a lovely time playing though.

Christy - I reckon aston would LOVE having kittens in the house... would love them to pieces I think. I want to get another cat - and inside one, seeing as how my puddy cat has turned into a farm cat, and we only ever see him when he comes for dinner
Good luck with the cook book. I'll put my hand up to try some recipes. especially if they are budget friendly.
I'm glad Jovie is ok - Laura had some sort of bite on her back last night... seems to be better this morning, but I spent the night checking on her to make sure she was ok. and unfortunately because she is such a drama queen - i never know when she is for real or not! she had a HUGE hissy fit last night - which went on for a couple of hours, lots of tears, sobbing, chucking it hugely... I hate myself, I'm fat, ugly... it was fun - NOT! She was stuck in the red zone, and i just had to sit with her until she calmed down. she had a shower with aston, and he can always make her smile, so she managed to calm down. poor darling - bloody hormones!!!

Kim - i have that word document - thanks. good recipes in there eh. Have you starting packing yet?
How's chelsea doing today? started eating yet? Jasmine didn't come down with it did she?

Jols - how's your little miss? I have no idea how much aston weighs - heavy is all I know! i'll get him weighed when he has the chicken pox immunisation. has the rash gone yet?

gigi - thanks for the info on elimination communication - I will check out those websites. You sound like you having a rough time of it hun at the moment :hugs: if you ever want to talk irl let me know - i'm a good listener.

taralee - how funny are these little folks now? nathan taught aston to shhhh, hold his finger up to his lips, and then he starts whispering... it is very cute. he plays hide and seek with nat, and when he is hiding, calls out to me... mummmmeeeee...babble babble babble (come and find meeeee) lol. hows that bump of yours going?

Blanche how you doing hun? how's that little man going in there? soccer player in the making? any news about whether you are going to have a c-section or not? How is miss Emelia doing?

Nelly - hun for yesterday. I hope you are feeling better today - and are looking after yourself!!! remember I will be checking on you

Ann - any news to share yet????? lol

got nat home today for a "mental health day". are hoping that by spending the day with me his behaviour will improve - am I deluding myself??? I guess I can live in hope eh.

have a good day everyone . Mwah

just reread what I typed - lots of questions for everyone lol

:hugs: Jols - those days are horrid... when I think if I dont have 20mins to myself right NOW i'm gonna scream, I put aston in his cot with books and toys, and shut the door for a bit. he sits down reads the books, and then proceeds to chuck everything out of the cot, but i usually manage to get a cuppa down, and a break!

Been so busy girls. I've been dropping in but not posting as i've been feeling fluey. Just so run down and tired (dont know if i'm up the duff Vicky, just trying not to think about it).

Some good news. I got a promotion! I'm now the head of my little department with 4 people to manage. Its going to be interesting with Ella but they are fine with my cutting back to 3 days a week i need to. The pay rise will help too (well help us pay the bank back)

I kind of think we missed my ovulation date so i'm not thinking i'm preggers. But you never know. I will be checking at the end of next week.

My friend just had her 2nd baby. Eva Ariela Flemming. 2hr labour! so jealous. I was her emmergency person and when it came time my phone was flat!!!

Sorry no personals i'll catch up with soon. Just want to sleep.

Happy Birthday NELLY! maybe you could have a delayed birthday celebration when you're feeling better hon?

I got diagnosed with mastitis today, so am on medication for that, doesn't taste too bad luckily (due to tracheostomy scar, i can't swallow pills).

Got a referral from my GP for bilby to see a hospital paeditrician too. for the eating and sleep issues. I'm floundering with her, truely. Feel like i'm drowning. I am in no state to have a house guest, and every three months, SD comes to stay - i feel such a mean stepmum, the only chance the poor kid gets to see her daddy and i really do not want any extra pressure - we;re in such a small unit, it's impossible for her to visit without that putting extreme pressure on me - by virtue of us being on top of each other all the time. there's nowhere to escape to (in the unit or outside).

dh just pointed out to me too, even if we found somewhere else to live (highly unlikely, huge rental shortage here), we would have to come up with the deposit (6 week's rent) which we don't have, and the rent would be minimum, $50 per week more than we currently pay, cos we would no longer be paying housing co-op rent.

Starting the Learnign thru Play course on wed started me thinking about so many things.

she's developmentally behind - not experiencing messy play - nowhere to do that in our unit

she's behind in eating - we are not cooking, no dining table set up - babies learn thru watching us model behaviour - she doesn't witness her parents eating at a table with her

she's behind in fine motor skills - combination of last two

i can't think of a way to change our situation.

we have too much stuff for the size place we're in (after combining two sep. households and previously being in a good sized 3 br house with sheds, carports, verandahs.

neither of us seems to have whatever it takes to make this better. Each time i cull, i do it in a depression, then regret what i threw out later on. I guess i want Trinny and Sussanah to swoop on our unit, and advise me, keep this, get rid of this, and i would do exactly what they advised. dh and i can't seem to make those decisions if our lives depended on it right now. we're in a fog that never clears.

ANN - congrats on your promotion, what a compliment to you and your skills.

Oh Gigi, I wish I knew of someway to help. I can't think of anything. I wish I had some way to help you..either by being there or to deliver a truckload of money to your door! (not to sound patronising or anything...). I know they say money doesnt make you happy but it sure does make things easier.
Sending lots of prayers your way

gallstones heh Kim? sounds VERY painful!
has your GP given you list of foods to avoid, to lessen the attacks (if that is possible). ARe you on a waiting list for surgery to have them removed? Good luck for getting them treated.

How are your girls faring at the mo? are they still sick as well?

I went to my Mums Over 30 group today, the main talk was about how their babies get put to bed at 7pm and wake up at 7am the next day - i just said nothing. How they "wouldn't put up with anythign else". I just sat there feelign more and more like a failure.

And someone else had a complain about how her baby had been up UNTIL 10PM the other night. God, what they would have thought of bilby's 4.30am stunts!!! i didn't dare say anything. (yes, me, staying stum - i pick my places - HERE i can say stuff that is real, at the this playgroup, i don't feel safe to say very much at all).

There was also talk about controlled crying, shutting the door for 12 hours and being strong enough not to go back in until morning. One person said, what if you wanted to check on your baby, what if they fell out of the cot, cried so much they vomitted etc - the people talking had no answer. One person said she knew a baby who cried so much, he made himself throw up. A baby could choke on it's own vomit, i'm sure that's a medical possibility.

The one person i feel connected with, in that group, said that she has tried controlled crying, and the longest she lasted was 20 mins, and that she found really hard to consciously ignore her child's distress. That's the way i feel too.

it's midnight and bilby is on her daddy's lap, he's watching a dvd of Firefly, she is in no mood to go to bed.

I am happy to report that the mastitis liquid medication tastes tolerable.

THanks everyone for your kind words. we have got lemons, i just gotta work out how to make lemonade.

Last week, dh applied for two jobs with an internet service provider, he had a 20 min phone interview with them today, and next Tuesday, they want him to come him for two hours, to be put thru a battery of tests. I so hope he gets this job!
