Wow - so much to catch up on! I have been stalking lately because I haven't had much time to reply...

Hoody - great to hear bubs is back to boob only, but I know what you mean about her development. I have 2 mother's groups, and one of them is a bit more judgemental (or maybe it is just me). It is like "oh, doesn't he do THAT yet?" and I'm like "no, all in good time...". Don't stress too much, DS doesn't like his tummy either, and although he is strong, he just gives up. I figure when he gets stronger and can roll off it whenever he wants he will be a bit more happy with it.

Twinsis - I can't believe how cold it is there! It was supposed to be 39 degrees today, but luckily it only hit 29 degrees. Bummer about missing a first, but at least your DH got to see it, and you will see so many more "firsts" as time goes on. I know I would hate it too, and I don't think I would believe my DH until I had seen it with my own eyes

June78 - sounds like you are having a rough time. Apparently bubs have a 45 min sleep cycle, so it sounds like your bub is only sleeping for one cycle and then can't self settle. Is he ok when he wakes up, or is he still grizzly? Cos if he is ok, I guess you are stuck with a non-sleeper, but if he is still grizzly, he might be still tired and needs to stay down. It has taken ages to get Caden into a good routine where he goes back to sleep. He is good at home, but when he is out and about he will wake up after only one sleep cycle. Then he is ok for a while but will get grumpy alot sooner than he would've done if he had had a good 2 hours.

Suse - hope you are feeling ok?

As for the night sleeps, - a good tip I got from a book was to express in the morning (when your supply is at it's best and the milk is also the fattiest) and give this to them before bedtime at night. Caden pretty much started sleeping through the night as soon as I started this. I end up giving him about 220 ml, which is more than I can express at this time of night, so he takes a bigger feed and doesn't need one until morning. It is worth a try for those that are able, if it doesn't work after a few days, just go back to the normal routine! I get DH to do this feed, which gives me a break, and the milk I express instead of feeding him I just put in the freezer for spare.

Well, off to hospital tomorrow for a small procedure where I have to have a general anethsetic. DH is looking after bubs for the day which should be great experience for him! I have never had a general before, so should be interesting.

Have a great week ahead ladies!
