Hollye - I am glad Mia is more settled for you and eating more, fingers crossed it keeps up!
Amanda - I hope the physio works for Julian, poor little thing, has he got a flt head from it as well? James seemed to favour one side for a long time but the hammock seems to have helped but now I feel he is too big for it!
OM - Yay for Olive! What a clever girl! That is great that you have an ABA group - I love my MG and being able to get together with the girls. We are still so close and nearly all of us stll go nearly 2 years on!
1stbub - Don't ya hate that. I swear the computers know when we are typing a big post and lose it deliberately!
Cathie - Glad the twins are doing so well! NIce to hear from you!!
sneakiesparkle - Good to hear from you - its a challenge juggling a toddler and bub too isn't it! Epsecially when one is feeding and the other wants an "ug" (hug)
Hello to everyone I have missed! DH flies in tomorrow! I am stalking him on flight tracker again and so far no delays and he is in Chicago! Hopefully his flight from LA won't be delayed either, we pick him up at 930 tomorrow morning, gosh it's gone fast but slow too and I just can't wait to see him!
Should hear the sound James is making, he is under his play gym on the floor and has been chatting happily away at it but I think he is hungry now so it's a combo of Im happy/hungry/ upset that grandma put me in sposie.... Off to sort him out!
Hi
Hollye - You would beable to do it, it's amazing what you have to do when you are put into a situation where you had no say in it. 2 babies was not what i was expecting, now I would'nt have it any other way. How's Mia ?
Tanstar - thank you for your for your kind words. How's James?
Tan, I was reading your other post about James' feeding and I could have written the exact same thing! I'm glad to see my boy isen't the only one fussy about! Hopefully its just the heat and once we go back to normal melb weather they'll sort themselves out!
We are off to the eye speacialist tomorrow! I'm really hoping we get an answer as to what's going on with his eye.
Anyway gotta go wash the car seat, we had a lovely poo explosion in the car on the way home! What fun!
Hi everyone!!
Sorry I haven't been on, we've been busy here with a christening for my nephew and then I got conned into working this week so it's been flat out!
Hayden was bare weighed on tuesday and was 5.96kg and 63cm long, he's going to be tall from the look of it!
Last night he slept from 8:30pm to 5:30am it's the second time he's done it now and I'm hoping he keeps it up, normally he wakes for a feed at 4am-4:30am!
How are you all going???
We've decidied to venture up to the gold coast in march and booked our tickets tuesday night so we won't change our mind! I've never been up there before so looking forward to it! Has anyone used a quicksmart stroller before looking at one for Hayden to take with us!
Anyway better run and get dinner underway before the monkeys destroy the house!
Counting down the minutes till Britney goes back to school had enough of the sibling love they've been giving each other!!!
Popping in quickly to say Hippie - these monkeys keep us on our toes dont they - James has had a few better feeds today but still fast - only around 8 mins!
MCHN check up today - J man is 6.540kgs! I thought he would be a bit heavier! 61cms long and head is 43.8 cms - hehe boof head!!
I weighed Liam yesterday and he was 6.25kg with just his nappy on.
I've been having feeding issues and did a thread in the BF forum, and some of the girls mentioned bubs often get fussy again around 3 months as their feeding pattern changes again. The general gist was that they're adjusting and feeding becomes more efficient so they often don't feed for as long. Some said their bubs fed for around 10-15 mins only some feeds. I've never heard of that before....
Why don't we get all this information somewhere?! Having a baby is frustrating the way things are now. Once upon a time women would have seen other bubs at all stages of their growth and had others with them to calmly and naturally tell them things. Now, each of us have to work it out for ourselves and hope we stumble on the right bit of information. Meanwhile we have MG's that are often all 1st time mums too so we're all just stumbling thru it together. ...I think we all do a good job given that, which says something for the inate abilities of women, but it could be easier...somehow.... *gets down off her soapbox*
Anyway, congrats Hollye on Mia increasing her feed so quickly!!! That's gotta feel good! Really hope it keeps up for you!
1stbub- James feeds for 10-15 mins max one side only per feed. The last few days it has been 5 mins per feed. It changes all the time - just take your lead from bub and you can't go wrong! Our village is much smaller these days and in many cases nearly non-existent. I love my mg though so nice to hear how others are going and to share stories about our terrific toddlers!!
dont know what the deal was yesterday coz today it says she put on 120 grams overnight!!!!!!! So for this week its a total of 140 grams so she is now... 5.84 kilos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She is drinking about............... 120-140 mls which is all good for her weight. She still spews but shes not in pain from it anymore and is more of a happy chucker and a big one at that.
I was wonderin... about re-lactating.. what are your girls thoughts on this? can it be done? keep in mind i stopped BFing about 8 weeks ago.
Went to mothers group today.. theres 1 little boy in there that is 1 week older than Mia and he is just a little bigger than Mia so i dont worry about Mia's size anymore. She is getting quite chubby! lol
Hollye - I have no idea about re-lactating but would love to know if you can or not.
Lara is stressing me out with her feeds now. She is a bottle fed bub and for the last couple of days not finishing her bottles and really whingy while drinking them. I thought maybe the flow from the teets were too slow or something now so I went and got ones for 3 months and she is still the same. Its frustrating. Hope everything goes back to normal with her feeding soon.
Gotta go, sorry no personals but she is screaming!!!
Relactating is definitely a possibility hun - the ABA can give you heaps of info and I would post in the general breastfeeding section as well. Basically you let bub attach and suckle frequently to stimulate supply and there are other things as well. Good luck if that is what you decide!
Hi everyone - Up at the pump so thought I would say hello.
Olive is getting a tooth! Her cheek was really red last night and she has been drooling and sucking on her fist so had a look before she went to bed and she has a big white spot on her gum. How long will it take to come through? I hope it doesn't cause more BF problems and while it's exciting my girl is growing up far to quickly.
Whats everyone doing for the long weekend?
DH is working saturday so i'm going to meet one of my sisters and her kids with my mum and helping her find a dress for our younger sisters wedding. I need to get some shoes and a new black bra to wear and some baby shoes for Olive as well so should be a nice day out, I love shopping. On monday will probably listen to jjj hottest 100 only it will be sober this year.
My MIL is coming over to see us and do some yard work today which is lovely of her. She is a teacher so is getting a bit bored I think and is just one of those people always on the go. She cleaned my windows for me last fortnight. I was originally a bit funny about it but have learnt to accept more help since having a baby and it makes her feel good I think plus DH is working 6 days and gets up at 2:45am so is pretty tired come the weekend. MIL is so excited about babysitting for my sisters wedding but i'm not. It will only be for 4hrs though while we go to the reception and she'll be much happier at home and will help prepare me for when I go back to work.
Have a great one ladies.
OM - Mia's first tooth has been sitting there for about 2 weeks now. Her cheeks are getting real red but it doesnt seem to want to make an apperance. She very frustrated by it. So it could sit there for months..
Hollye - i was reading a post a few weeks ago about re-lactating cause i was thinking of giving it a go - is that weird????? apparently u can do it but it takes a long time for it too happen - and u can get medication from your doc to get things started again - do u have any milk left? can u squeeze a drop out at all - i was able to until about 2wks ago now i have nothing
Tan - Hubby gets back today - are u excited???? where is his flight now?
Olivesmummy - i got a few weddings comming up this year but im taking B along with me - i still cant leave her with anyone - i was thinking of maybe leaving her with my parents while DH and i go have dinner or something on valentines day but nope i know i just cant do it! wish i could tho - a little break would be nice!
How is everyone else going?
Bianca has slept thru EVERY night so far this week - she goes to be around 2000/2030ish and wakes up between 0500-0600!!! how awesome is that?!
Hollye I've heard that you can relactate, I hope you can get lots of info and it will help you, like Tan said ABA would be a great place to get the info.
Tan no he doesn't have a flat spot luckily, I keep trying to move his head especially when he's awake, he gets tummy time and sits on my lap just so that he doesn't rest on it to much.
HJ that's great that B is starting to sleep through, hopefully she will keep it up and give you some much needed rest. You should check into the relactating as well it couldn't hurt.
OM her tooth could be just moving around it may come out in days or months you just never know.
Leigh big , maybe she's just going through a fussy stage, hopefully she will stop the fussing at the bottle soon.
Not much going on here, have got everything for the boys to go back to school, just have to cover their books.
Amanda - i found out after i gave up BFing that B has a short fenulum - hence why i had soooo much trouble with her BFing - no one told me this at the time mind you!
The pead didnt even pick it up at her 6wks check up - and if he did than he ignored it - cause apparently according to my gp and the nurse at the chemist they are very common and usually fixes itself! So im not even sure we would be able to BF, as much as i want to give it another go, i felt so bad and felt like such a failure for not being able to do it first time round, if i still cant do it than it may just make me feel even worse, plus she has been on the bottle for so long now, i doubt she would be a happy baby going back to the boob, when the bottle is so easy for her!
DH is back! SO nice to have him home finally! Off to do some stuff while all three kids are in bed! Back later if I can. I won't be around BB much anymore - long story but I spend way too much time on here and invest too much time and energy that could be better spent elsewhere. Will still pop in though - maybe just once a day or so instead of a million times a day!
Hi girls. Having a crappy day - too hot, too broke, too tired etc. Should be all good tomorrow (I think the hot and tired have a lot to do with it). Went to the doc today, he said sometimes the body doesn't disolve the stitches so it forces them out which is obviously the case with me. The rest of them will come out eventually. Apparently the other layers should be fine. I think they use other stitches or something for them. I asked about when is too soon to have another bub after c/s, he said 'they' recommend at least TWO YEARS!!!! Then went on to say it can take a year for your body to be properly healed after a c/s so they recomend at least 1-2 years. So i got a script for the mini-pill, not happy about it though. (ha, not happy about much today :P).
Meanwhile Liam's been good, but hardly slept all day coz of the heat and we went shopping and he must have gotten overstimulated - just means i have to shop more so he gets used to it right?
Ive got my nanna babysitting Liam for a few hours next week while i get my hair done. I've left him with DH before for a few hours at a time but this will be the 1st time without either of us. At the moment I'm not worried by it. He'll love the attention and its only a couple of hours.
Well HERE is my offical goodbye ladies, it has been so nice getting to know you all and watching our bellies and babies grow! If you want to add me on FB just pm me!
Take care and I will pop in from time to time!
ETA: First bub - most places recommend 18mths for a VBAC babe but think about it - your scar is STRONG and already healed. I had 17 mths between mine and yep I ended up in another c/s but that had nothing to do with my scar. Read all you can and make your own decision.
