Didi how long are you going for this time?
Well it was a tooth, it made an apperance yesterday arvo....so he now has both his bottom ones, he has a very light rosy cheek as well, we had a better sleep last night which was a blessing as I was shattered.
Not much else going on today, kids will be back at school on Tuesday, yay.
-
Hi Girls,
DH is away this for a few days so I am home alone with my girls. We have just come home from shopping, spent more money than I should have, all on Lara though.
Amanda - Your course sounds exciting, yay for getting spoilt from DH too. Glad you got a good night sleep, I had a bad one, not coz of the kids or anything, I just couldnt sleep, should make the most of having the bed to myself while DH is away.
HJ - cute pics of B. I read your other thread about Duromine. How are you finding it? Any side effects?
Hollye - You'll love your wii. I use mine all the time. Did you get the wii fit as well?
Didi - I will PM u my email soon, can't wait to see pics of your hair.
Gotta go, Lara is screaming, she needs a sleep.
Have a great weekend

Hi everyone,
Olive is going pretty well now and started daycare on Thursday though it was only for 4hrs. She was happy when I left however refused to drink for the daycare lady and wouldn't go to sleep until she was wrapped. She had to mash up a banana for her which she did eat thank god. It has been really full-on working and mummying, especially for DH who starts work at 4am then gets home to mind Olive and then I don't get home until 6. We will get into a routine soon hopefully.
Olive was 6mths yesterday, my hoe time flies.
We went to clinic yesterday and despite all Olive's sickness she has put on 500g in a month and is now 8.9kgs. She is 69cm long and 43.9 HC so is growing nicely. The MCHN also said that I need to start cleaning Olive's teeth which I didn't know and that I should maybe start a food diary as Olive seems to be allergic to some foods.
Sorry no personals girls, it's hard when you've been away for a while. I will hopefully catch up soon. xo
-
ya ya ya amanda tooth is fun!!
-
Hi girls.
Didi - yep DH is doing well now. Missed the 1 day of work but is fine now. all the coughing did cause him to get hemorrhoids though which he's really impressed with. So is a little uncomfortable. Thankfully he's not the typical whinging male. I do feel very bad for him though.
Amanda - congrats on Julians new tooth. Liam just got his 1st one!!! So was up several times last night. Am hoping tonight will be very different. Feeling optimistic about it all.
Congrats on your doula course too! how exciting. Relish the change. I'm sure all your years of mummy-ing will have you well prepared for any juggling of time you need. Might just be that being able to concentrate on one thing for an extended period of time will take getting used to, IYKWIM. ;) Good luck with it! My BIL said the other night he thinks I should be a midwife after seeing me helping my sister with her birth. Really can't see myself doing it, but it made me re-consider being an ambulance officer which I always wanted to be through high school - even did work experience there. Just an idea ATM and certainly wouldn't happen for a long time if i did chose to go with it.
Hollye - I know what you mean about the funds being a little too tight to consider things like that ATM. This too will pass (.....right??!? lol). Yay for your new Wii!!!! We should all work out how to send messages through the Wii! :) After the car is fixed and the mower is sold I'm hoping to buy the Wii fit as my little splurge. Congrats on your anniversary too.
HJ - Good to have you back. Hows your new house?!
OM - I don't envy you juggling the work+mummy thing. No doubt you're doing an excellent job. And Olive is thriving! Not sure Liam is even up to 8kg yet. Got all the check ups / immunisations next week so we'll see.
Leigh - sorry about the lack of sleep. Frustrating when its not caused by bub isn't it. (hmm, frustrating when it is caused by bub too.)
Got my FIL law here for almost 2 weeks. Hopefully i wont have him feeling so unwelcome....:grimace: ...then again, it could work out quite well for me....... ;) hehehe. He's much easier company than the girls, although he's not well and has a very small amount of things he can eat - which i didn't realise before he arrived. Ah well.
Sleep well girls. I certainly hope I will be.
-
I am going over with the kids and hubby for 9 weeks! So back first week of sept!
-
Amanda - yay of Julians toothy peg!!! how cute! B hasnt got any teeth yet! she must be a bit slow in that department!!!
Still waiting to hear how ur visit with Leslie went - hahahaha
1stbub - new house is awesome - we are loving it - just spent a fair bit of money on new furniture for it!!! Hows it going with having ur FIL stay?
Hollye - How are u and Mia going? B is back on to her food! phew!!!!
OM - wow u have started Olive in day care? how did u handle her 1st day?
Leigh - i havent started the Duromine yet - still not game enough! don't think i will end up taking it tho!
didi - how is DH's groin? LOL :p
Bianca had her first train ride into the city today - she loved it! i was a bit nervous cause i havent caught the train for at least 7yrs so i had my mum come with us! hehehe
and my gosh it was a BIG day - She is down sleeping in her pram! hehehehe
Also our computer has crashed so once again im without the internet! thank god mum lives near by!
anyways twas just a quick one!
Oh before i go - is anyone's bub still not sleeping thru??
-
hj hope you had a nice trip into the city! fun fun!!!
Dh groin is better now thank goodness he is back to work, adn we are back to playgroup, premie playgroup and family daycare.. since school is back!!!
hj.. you are perscribed duromine... have you tried reductil.. my sis takes it..
-
hj - Olive has only been to FDC once so far for 4hrs. I was very nervous and still feel overwhelmed by all the feelings I have. I am enjoying work but miss my girl lots and lots. I may look into doing FDC myself in the future but right now I need to pay the bills and we also want to move to a bigger home soon. DH is going to full time soon so Olive will have to be in daycare a second day which will suck but I want her to have a permanent routine instead of being so all over the place. I have to work full time for 2weeks in a couple of weeks as my bosses are going on hols so that will be pretty stressful. I felt like I needed to get back into the work force though as I was starting to feel cabin fever set in and was becoming an internet junkie which I don't think is healthy.
Anyone else have plans to return to work in the near future?
Olive is going through a very wakeful stage ATM and is awake again now. She is in our bed a fair bit lately and last night I was lucky to get an hours sleep at a time. On top of work i am very tired. Not sure what to do TBH, just put some bonjella on Olive's gum in case her teeth are playing up.
So whose bubs are crawling? Olive is so close, she is up on all fours and kinda lurches and rocks but no steps yet.
Alright Olive just went back to sleep so i'm off too, nite nite.
-
didi - i have no idea why i was prescibed duromine - i have read that is usually perscribed for obese or very over weight ppl - and im neither of them! i will prob try reductile once i give duromine a go - i have spent almost $100 on it so i may aswell try it! even if its just to kick start things, as things have seemed to have come to a hault!
OM - im due back to work 20th September - and will prob only go back 1 day a week, just for the social side of things hehehe - if i stay at work and fall preg again than i will up my days so i can get more days paid in maternity leave when the time comes!
Bianca is up and crawling - has been for a little while yet! enjoy it while Olive isnt crawling hehehe cause when they are its non stop!
I think the train ride into the city must of warn B out last night - she slept from 2030-0445 woohooo bugga it wore me out too tho hehehe
-
hey girls,
I have been reading but too slack to post.
HJ - Seen them pics of B, she is just beautiful! have to get a shotgun for when shes in highschool me thinks to fend all them boys away! Woohooo for u going on a train ride. Mia hasnt been on anything but in a car. Im hopefull going to try and take her on the local bus soon, just for something different. lol not very exciting tho. Glad B in back on her food. Mia is going well with hers, shes still having 2 solid meals a day, a little one and a big one for dinner. She is having 4 bottles (usually) of about 150 mls on average. Somedays she has 5 or even 6 when shes sick. I agree, this crawling is insane. Mia is still commando crawling. She gets up on her knees and pulls herself around on her elbows. Shes getting quite quick tho, yesterday i was in the kitchen and next thing i turned around and she was right behind me. Cheeky girl. Mia is still sleeping through but she still co-sleeps. If she was in her cot im sure she would wake up several times a night. Hows B doing with her sleeping? Mia has dropped down from 3 sleeps a day to 2. She gets up about 7am.. goes down about 9:30-10am, sleeps till about 12 and goes down about 2:30 and sleeps about an hour then goes to bed at 7pm.
hey to everyone else =)
AFM - Mia is 6 months tomorrow!!! oh my! needles on friday =( . She has another photo shoot today. This will be her 7th since she was born =) I was actually quite excited the other day in the thought of havin another bub, tho we will be waiting a while yet.
anyhoo best go get ready for the day xoxoxox
-
Hollye - hehehe thanks - yeah i think im going to invest in a shot gun - if they have a special buy one get one free do u want one aswell? hehehe
wow Mia is doing so well with everything! food, bottle, sleep, crawling, everything!
B sometimes has 2meals a day - breaky and dinner, but most mornings does not want breaky!
As for her sleep its about 2 30mins sleep a day, and off a night time she goes to bed around 2000 and wakes between 1-2 and 5-6!
They say once they reach 6mths they dont need their middle of the night bottle for health/growing needs - but no way can i stop them!
Oooooo a bus ride will be fun - i will do that too one day but im more scared of that - bit hard with a pram!! so u can do that one first - let me know how it goes! hehehe
Mia - i just want to be first to wish u a HAPPY 6MTHS for tomorrow! u are growing into such a beautiful little girl xoxo
-
Hi Girls,
Just a quick one, Lara is driving me nuts, she hasnt had a day sleep since Thursday. I have been trying everyday but she just rolls non stop in her cot. She has always been a tummy sleeper and I was lucky coz before this she would roll during play time on the floor but never in her cot, now as soon as I put her in she rolls on to her back and wont sleep. Grrr hope she learns to sleep on her back as well as her tummy. Dh got back last night but is back at work all day today and tonight.
Gotta go, I have a screaming baby on my hands.
-
Leigh have you tired those non rolling things for babies.. I used one with ben and put him on his belly and put this under and next to him so he wouldnt roll as he was a tummy sleeper same as Jorda.. Worked well.
hj-poor babies always are so different.. sleeping patterns etc.. you get something set and then the kido changes it and wants to sleep at different times etc... I guess its to keep us on our toes.
Jorda is nealry 7 months!! wow ... the Ped says to take into consideration she was premie.. that she might be a month behind in crawling walking etc.. Which honeslty doesnt worry me at all.. they are all so different and will do things faster then others in certain things.. and slower in others... No big deal to me!!
Have a good day everyone!!
-
Didi - I tried one of the roll things the other day, it didnt work. I let her cry it out before and she is asleep now, on her back so I hope she gets used to it, well I think she is asleep, either that or she is playing in there.
I am actually hoping Lara doesnt crawl for a while yet, I like the fact that I can put her on the floor and know she is still going to be there when I come back into the room, apart from rolling here and there.
Lara turns 6 months this Sunday so I guess I will start solids around then.
-
Hi,
I'm looking for mums in Newcastle, i just moved here and need to make some friends also wanting to start a play group and walking group.
Let me know. If your interested.
-
hey Jaz - there are heaps on Newcastle mums on BB, just not in here (i dont think). Heres a link where u will find them all - https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...er-3-a-20.html
and welcome to BB!
-
Thanks for the info Hollye!
So where is eveyone from in here?
-
Leigh.. totally agree.. Ben started crawling at 5 months.. way to early for my liking!!!
My old mum group was all about.. who did what first and who was later... etc.... was so over it!
They are all so different!
-
Yeah they all get there eventually. Once theyre on the go there is no stopping them from moving and getting into everything. As Lara is my last baby I wouldnt mind if she didnt crawl or walk for a while, just means she is my little baby for that bit longer coz they grow up way too quick!
-
i dont want Mia crawling anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she needs to stop! mayb she will forget how?? wishful thinking.
-
HJ - Liam was sleeping through from 4 weeks and I felt very spoiled and kind of afraid to let other mums know. :) As of about 5 weeks ago that's ended for some reason. 8.30pm-4.30am would be a big sleep for him too (where he used to be down around 8 or 9 and up around 7am). Have spoken to the chn's about it and they have no explanation. He's eating more than he ever has so he can't be hungry - well, maybe he could but that would make 7 or 8 feeds a day, and they're big feeds. Anyway, I guess we'll wait it out and hope it returns to 'normal' again SOON!
As for crawling, he's nearly there. He nearly got there then started pushing up onto his feet/toes and then going backwards. He looks like he's getting it all together again today.
We had a 6month information thing at comm health today which was good. Mostly it was our MG so everyone felt very 'at home'. Got some good information on cleaning teeth (they suggested bubs suck clean wet washers to start with and then progress to brushing when teeth are further along in a few months - we have to brush here coz we have no flouride in our water), and some clarity on the whole feeding thing.
Grrr, just realised i've missed a new page. Will read those soon and reply at some stage. Oooh, Liam has his immunisation tomorrow. For whoever asked (OM?) it's quite good having my FIL here. He's been cooking, doing dishes and hanging out the washing for me!!!!! And he's pretty good company too. Gotta go.
-
1stbub - thats good that all is going well with ur FIL!
And how sneaky of u too keep ur good sleeping bub a secret - hehehehe
B slept last night from 1940-0400 than went back to sleep and slept until 0700 so thats the best yet!
She dosent have a toothy peg yet but i will remember the washer idea for when it does eventually show!
-
My lil girl is 6 months today =) oh where does the time go?!?! will have to start planning her first bday soon! lol
-
-
1st bub.. you are so lucky with sleeping.. I thought jorda did well starting to sleep through at 6 weeks and still does now thank goodness.. last feed at 9pm then up at 8am.. so i am very very lucky.
I had the dentist today.. joys!!!
-
Thanks, I don't feel very lucky now though. It's been about 6 weeks of broken sleep and been so busy i don't have time for a nap most days. Last night he woke about 4 times. He keeps rolling onto his tummy and wakes up and cries. Grrr. Leigh, we've been using those non-rolling rolls since he went into the cot from the basinet and they don't work for him now either. Any ideas on how to keep him from rolling anyone?? Pretty sure he would have slept most of the night otherwise. I might try just putting him down on his tummy so he gets used to sleeping like that (next week when FIL is gone).
Liam had his immunisations today. He cried more for the 1st needle than he has before, so the last one was reeeeally mean! Poor li'l fella. It didn't bother me much though, guess i'm getting used to it. :) And i've finally decided enough is enough and im getting a new doctor! Besides hardly being able to understand mine, he treats me like one of those over-reacting mums so i don't even feel like i can ask him anything. ***** we're not ******* idiots! Heaven forbid we try to get some information!
My brother flies in tomorrow - yay!!!!
-
-
wow Mia 6 months.. doesnt time fly.
1stbub, Jorda has been sleeping on her belly since 3weeks old and now she rolls from back to belly and always sleeps on her belly. My ped/specialist said unless you have pillow, teddy bears etc around babies head (which i think is common sense not too) belly is totally fine,
As i was concerned when Jorda was little puking all the time.. lying on her back she would choke.. so i always had her on her belly and she lifted her head etc I was never concerned and did the same with Ben.
Do what works and what you are comfortable with!!! GOod luck!
-
Happy 6mths for yesterday Mia, how did the photo shoot go Hollye?
Not much going on here, Julian had his first taste of solids on Sunday and he did the whole screwed up face, but I think he likes having food. I haven't given him anymore yet as all of us had a mild tummy bug, so I'm waiting for that to go, which is has nearly now.
-
Amanda - photo shoot went really well. She laughed and miled through the whole lot. Picking up pics today so ill scan a couple and put them in may gallery.
Mia had her 6 month check today.. stats are as follows
Born - 3.52kg........6 Months - 7.9kg
Born- 45 cm long.............6 months 67cm
Born - HC 37cm (34?).........6 months 43cm
MCHN was very happy with her n said she is still quite advanced for her age. Me personally, i wish she would just slow down and be a baby for a little longer.
Next check at 8 months- 23/06/09
Needles tomorrow :( I might chicken out tho and take her next week.
Got number for a sleep school around here so i can have a little help getting Mia into her cot, ill ring them later.
Mia is loving her food. Lastnight she had, sweet potatoe, pumpkin, peas, corn, Zuchini, carrot and cauliflower. Ate the whole lot and then some of my Beef stroganoff. lol. MCHN said she can now start having other dairy items, such as yohgurt (which ive tried and she wont eat) and cheese. Im glad she answered that coz i havent been too sure about the cheese. But she said she can have That cheese spread on dry biccies or toast. Didnt even think of that!!!!!!!!!
-
Hollye u havent put those pics up yet!!!
don't chicken out tomorrow - go in and get them over and done with!
so now that Mia is 6mths old is time to start trying for number 2? hehehe
didi - i wish B would sleep on her tummy sometimes!!!
Amanda - yay on Julian having his first tast of solids!!!
-
HJ - be patient now. I dont pick them up till after 3. lol Number 2? ur kidding arnt u! lol Actually im quite excited the thought of having another bub but not for a couple more years yet.
-
Hiya!!
Hey all
Just thought I'd drop a line and intro myself!!!
I have 2 beautiful boys, and AT TIMES hubby.....LOL!! My 2nd son Andrew was born on 29th October 08!!
Um....not too sure where to start etc... He's just been the perfect baby APART from his reflux (as soon as that was medicated he has been an absolute joy) Although, not sure if it's cause he's teething, or solids but it definitely seems worse at the mo :( - poor wee thing!!!
He hasn't got any teeth yet, although the back gums are so inflamed and it actually feels like a tooth? But I am sure they should be coming in the front first *shrugs* :)
Anyway - enough of me, off to read the threads and get to know a bit about you all!! Can't wait to get chattting to you all!!
Bridge :)
-
Morning All
Anyone notice anything different about me :D
Bridge - hello and welcome to our friendly little group and to BB!!! Your so going to love it on here - everyone is so nice and helpful!
And congrats on ur 2nd bubba boy!
Hollye - still waiting on those pics!!!
Starry - Thank you again xo
-
Brigette - welcome =)
HJ - oh **** i forgot. I have to to see if my scanner is plugged in. they will get up there lol
alll good here.. its raining. Going to rain for the next 7 days they tell us.
Dont think Mia will be having needles today, nurse is flatout and said i can come in at 9am or 2pm, both these times arnt good for us. But i might just give them another call anyway.
