AJ - how scary! Glad he's ok. i suspect i have many incidents in my future like that, with this little adventurous son of his father (...and his mother really - i was always up trees or on roofs, flipping and tumbling..)
Stary - yep, i'm with you. The less said about Mums Day the better. Where can i upgrade my DH to include an application where he cares about special days....????
Didi - sorry u have a cold. Hope it gets better soon. Has bub caught it?
Leigh - glad you had a nice night away.
HJ -thanks. im lovin it. :)
OM - sorry bout your cars. Makes it so hard when they're not running properly doesn't it. Ours is at a local repairers today being looked at to see what the problem is so we can find out if its covered by the warranty of the repairer who replaced the engine on the Sunny coast. ...I'm kind of waiting to be screwed over actually... If it's decided their workmanship isn't at fault it's apparently another $3000 out of our pockets. Would have been much better to just get a new one. Fingers crossed it's covered by them!
-
Oh ya she has got it all right and teeth at the same time. that 4th tooth that cut through the other day is now coming down more.. So i guess she is in some pain!
Drugs Drugs and more drugs for us all!!
-
DH has got a head cold and is sniffling around, DS is back at school today feeling much better, me on the other hand I was waiting for the school to call to come and get him, but it didn't happen luckily.
-
Oh my goodness I am so excited 44 days till we leave... I guess we are now thinking of moving there this year sometime for good!!
Woo hoo!!
-

amandaj- it sucks when everyone is sick, have you had it yet? if not, I hope you dont! glad ds is a bit better.
1stbub27- yep, I would really like that upgrade too, maybe an emotion sensitivity chip as well!!
om- hope work is going well for you and olive is enjoying dc.
hj- you still around??? everyones been a bit quiet lately.
sorry if ive missed anyone, jababy is waking lots at night again, mind u, due to this sleep study thing I have realised he sleeps waaay more than I really thought, thats all done now though, just have to post back all the stuff today.

hope you all have a great day.
xx
-
just had a look.. bubs around this age should be sleeping about 14 hours out of the 24. Even tho Mia has dodgy day sleeps we usually get to 14 hours, so thats good.
-
Starry - LOL Yup!
Hollye - sorry about Mia being sick, and about the tiredness. Hope you get a chance to catch up on sleep sometime really soon.
Didi - are you from Canada or Australia originally?
AJ - hope your household is sickness and injury free today!
Hi to everyone else. :hello:
-
Hi everyone,
Just put olive down and am enjoying a glass of wine and waiting on pizza. We are going pretty good here. Olive has been sick so Hollye, I feel your pain. She has had her first cold and has been sick for nearly a week and waking heaps. She has also got another tooth down the bottom and 2 more coming through. those top ones have been nightmarish for the poor darling. Olive hasn't beent o daycare this week due to her sickness and as mum is having 2 weeks off while I work these extra hours I thought I may as well keep her home. I have been good but am looking forward to getting my extra hours back. I am getting 2 moles cut out monday week, one of which is on my boob so am not looking forward to that!
Hollye - How was your MD, did you get your slippers?
Not sure if I mentioned that Olive has been officially crawling for about a week! She is also saying mum and bub really clearly and seems to be weaning herself off night bottles. I can't believe my girl is 7mths on sunday.
Anyone TTC?
Hi to everyone, have a great weekend!!!
-
Hollye sorry to hear Mia is sick, hopefully she will be better soon and you get some more sleep too.
1st bub nope DH is still sick and now I've got a scratchy throat, not going to be happy if I get sick :(
Starry no I haven't had it yet but I think I might be getting it, hopefully not to bad though.
OM mmm wine, I've got a bottle in the fridge that I haven't opened yet. TTC not yet, if I can talk DH around to having another it wouldn't be until at least April next year. Why are thinking of starting soon? I hope Olive gets better soon as well and owwies on getting moles cut out.
I've had a bad night food wise cause DH is sick and I'm not feeling to crash hot, we got fish and chips so will see how much weight if any I lose this week. Not much else going on. Have a great weekend :D.
-
I am originally from Canada.
my mum is Australian and dad is Canadian so i get both passports and so do my kids!!
Ya we are definilty thinking of moving over there!
-
Didi - my dream is to go to Canada and Alaska one day! i want to go for my 30th!!!
Hollye - awww i hope Mia gets better soon
Starry - yeh im still around - i have been dealing with a sick bub also! however today she seems MUCH better! good to hear that jbaby is enjoying his swimming - i have been meaning to ring up a few places to get B inbut i keep forgetting! with us now having a pool i want her to have some concept on swimming before summer comes
OM - sounds like u had a nice night last night!
Amanda - enjoy ur bad food night - ur entitled to it once a week!!!!! as long as it not a massive binge! not looking forward to my weigh in - i have been pretty slack and have been into the chardoney a bit lately! hehehe
Well B is soooo fast at crawling now days - i have to get one of those fence things to stop her from getting into the kitchen - yesterday i put her in lounge room while i went to make a cuppa and next thing she is right behind me! so could of been bad if i was carrying my cuppa!
She also hasnt stop saying MUM MUM - however said DADDA for the 1st time last night - ihave been drilling that into her head cause i think DH was feeling a little left out!
I also went into get her from her nap yesterday to find her kneeling up in her cot chewing on the sides!!! what a cheeky bugga! i think its time to lower her cot - i want to put some pics up on here but for some reason its not letting me!?
Hello to everyone else and their munchkins xo
-
I'm so excited, this morning when I went into get Julian for a feed he said BUBBA, his first word it was so cute, then he kept saying it, but when I want him to do it for DH he didn't want to say it anymore the cheeky little monkey. Forgot to say last night that he is 7mths, boy has that gone quick, their first birthdays are fast approaching, it's all too soon :(.
-
hello all,
amandaj- thats so cool, jacob is still just sounding out vowels, but I do think he says "oh yeah" sometimes!
hj- I still cant believe that some of us have mobile bubs now! jacob is desperately trying, he gets so frustrated cos he just cant get it together...;) I dont mind tho, it will be nightmare when he does, I seriously need to do some babyproofing around here!
sorry for lack of persies, but i have got sooo much to do today, was up late last night making curries (in the slow cooker) and naan bread, now I need to make gingerbread for my neices birthday, which includes all pretty kinds of decorating...
oh yeah, jbaby had his first yogurt last night, loved it! just kept gobbling it up, didnt seem to have any issues after either which is good.
about to give him his first go of some organic baby rice cereal stuff.....see how that goes....
xx
-
Wow speaking of words..
Jorda is saying Bubba Bubba Bubba all the time.. she doesnt stop.. NO hopfe for saying ma ma ma... why do they always say da da da FIRST!
-
Didi - Bianca didnt say DA DA first she said MUM MUM MUM first and just before mothers day! apparently Dada is easier to say, but every bub is different!
OM - are u TTC??? DH is under the impression that it will happen when it happens for us - we arn't taking any precautions - however im pretty sure i know when im ovualting some mths so i stay clear of DH than - i wanna enjoy B by herself for a bit longer. Also i have big plans for next year and a 2nd bub cant be in the picture!
Starry - how is Jbaby going with his solids? what else have u tried him on?
Hollye - im so sorry u had to make a visit to the hospital - i so hope lil Mia is much better today (BIG MASSIVE HUGS)
Amanda - yah on Julian's first word! its pretty exciting hey! and oh my gosh 7mths already - we are so going to be celebrating the big 1 soon which is a bit sad!
B gave me a heart attack this morning - i though she had been kidnapped - i put her in our room while i had a shower, and i put her near the sliding doors so she could chat to the dog outside like she always does when i shower - when i got out she was no where to be seen so i was running around the house in a big panick calling out to her!.................. i found her in our walk in robe chewing on my shoes laces - she had kicked the door almost shut - hence why i didnt look in there - when i found her she looked up at me and gave me this evil cute cackle laugh that she does and continued sucking on my shoe laces!!
MY GOD THAT GIRL CAN MOVE!!!!
-
HJ - how scary!!
Liam loves to sit at the sliding door and talk to the dog too. The dog who, at first loved him and was super protective whinging at the door whenever he cried, then seemed to dislike him as he realised Liam meant less time for him, now seems to be keen on him again - i think he can see a potential play mate. Very cute! (not that I'll ever leave the 2 of them alone together).
Liam was saying mumm mumm a while ago and did it non-stop for a while. Then i said 'dadad' whenever he said mum and he started saying dad (with his tongue between his 'teeth' - cute!). now he doesn't really say either.
AJ - sorry you're sick. Plenty of rest for you! (*sarcastic hahaha* - with just 1 bub and a house to look after that's not a reality. I bet it's even less likely for you. Sorry )
OM - we're TTC, in a VERY loose sense of the word. I'm not on any contraception but I'm not timing anything yet. If it happens ATM it happens. In a few months I guess I'll get a bit more focussed on it. One of the mums in my MG is preggers again, she's a little older so they wanted the next one ASAP, so it's good news for them.
Oh! Happy 7 months to our bubs!
-
Hi Girls,
Hope you're & your bubs are doing well. I have been MIA for a while again and been trying to read all your posts to catch up.
Guess what? Lara got her first teeth today, both bottom ones. They werent there yesterday. Poor little girl getting both on the same day. I know most of your bubs have got teeth now but its an exciting time for us!!!
HJ - That would've been scary when you couldnt find B, cheeky little monkey she is. She is so clever with her words too. I agree, probably a good time to lower her cot.
Didi - You and your kids are lucky having both passports. I envy you!!!
1stBub - I am excited on you (kind've) TTC again. I can't have anymore kids so I envy you too. I loved the excitement of trying and finding out I was pg.
I've got to go and start getting dinner ready. Sorry for the lack of persies, I will try and BBL to finish.
-
Leigh - WOW on Lara getting both her bottom teeth at the same time! we are STILL waiting for Bianca to get her first tooth!!!!
1stbub27 - what type of dog have u got? we got a german sheppard - who is getting a bit old but i think he is hoping to be around when B is old enough to play!
I have lost my ring that was given to me from my parents for my 16th! im sooo upset - i have searched high and low and cant find it - it has been on my finger for almost 12years and now it has gone :(
-
hey girls,
just a quick one.
AS HJ said, I took Mia to the hospital as she started vommiting blood. Shes still a little sick with a viral infection but is a little better. I brought a Vaporiser yesterday and that made alot of difference lastnight.
Re - tooths.. nah none here either. Think it gonna be quite a while before they decide to make an apperance.
Still waiting to hear about a house i applied for.
xxx
-
leigh26- yay! how is lara coping with the toothies? Jbaby still only has the bottom 2, cant wait to see some more, but then I think I will miss his gummy little grin!
hollye- oh no, poor mia! is she ok now? bugger about the house, how long does it take these days???
hj- B is definately gonna be a mover! what a fright though! sorry about your ring, thats horrid, I hope it just magically "turns up!"
didi- Jbaby has just started saying dadadada!! Am trying to make him say mamama but its not working....he just then says babababa...oh welll....at least daddy is happy!
hi to everyone else, took jbaby to docs yesterday, our gp is sooo nice, much more reassuring than the er doc! have to test his urine again, she said they stuffed the test up in the hospital and was inconclusive...idiots, anyway, have his first lot of needles booked for friday....not looking forward to it....hoping to get fluffy mail today, yay!!
oooh, I also have my first (well in afew years anyway!!) driving lesson today....not nervous yet, but I still have an hour and a half to go! wish me luck!
have a fantastic day ladies,
xx
-
GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT??????????????????
i had a shower this morning was getting dressed, grabed a pair of undies out of my draw and heard something fall on the floor! i was thinking no it couldnt be, so i turned on my light and there it was............... MY RING!!!! I am so happy :leap:
it must of fell off when i was doing the folding the other day!!!
Starry - how did the driving lesson go? are u doing auto or manual?
Hollye - glad to hear that lil Mia is feeling better - how u going? have u heard anything about the house yet?
-
Oh HJ.. thank goodness!!!
-
Hi girls. It's POURING with rain here ATM. I was going to go over to my sisters this arvo but thinking i might can it now - too hard with a 3 door car still, umbrella, and massive puddles.
HJ - so glad you found your ring!! I've had sentimental items like that lost for months before i find them in a sofa bed or something! :)
We have a red heeler. He's gorgeous. He's about 8 years old now, but he had some blood clot things in his ears so now they're permanently bent over like puppy ears. I love german shepherds! My aunty and uncle used to breed them.
Leigh - im so sorry you can't have any more kids. I don't like too many people to know i'm TCC (it's a little different in here), especially when we're really trying. It makes me nervous, like I'm then suddenly under pressure to produce results QUICK! :) Silly i know. But I loved being pg, and i look forward to having our bigger family. I'm always talking about plans for 'when the boys are older' or 'once the kids are at school'. Nothing's guaranteed though of course... The best laid plans of mice and men, and all that.
Hollye - how awful for poor Mia. I hope she's fully recovered soon. How long was she in hospital?
Starry - good luck with the driving lesson!
-
Hi all, have been trying to read all the posts but i've given up lol.
Meara still doesn't have any teeth yet and is not sitting up or crawling. I think I might have to get her back checked. I think she might be close to getting a tooth tho, her little cheeks are very red. She loves her food too lol. She eats a whole weetbix for breakfast : 0 She is nearly in an 0 (how did she get that big that quick lol)
I have 2 dogs that have grown up around all my kids. The older one is a jack russell X god-knows-what-because-his-mum-was-a-tart lol and the 2nd is a german shepherd x kelpie and she is gorgeous. They are 10 and 8 years old.
Hollye - how is Mia. Hope she is better soon. How scarey for you. Hope you hear about your house soon.
Hi to everyone else. Will try to keep up-to-date on posting but i'm pretty busy. Hope you all had a great Mothers Day
-
Kim - why are u getting Meara's back checked? i havent thought of trying B on weetbix - but now im going to go shopping for them tomorrow - thats such a good idea!
-
HJ - u can get kids wheetbix which have added iron and calcium. These are the ones we will be using. Mia hasnt had wheetbix yet.. as she doesnt eat breakky. Shes actually dropped down on her solids a fair bit. SHe has 1 solid meal and bits and peices throughout the day (like fruit etc) No i havent heard about the house yet :( mayb today...
Mia is still sick. She is getting abit better tho. The vommiting has stopped. I brought a vaporiser the other day and oh my! what a god send that has been. Getting much more sleep than i was getting.
anyhoo... betta go xoxox
-
Hi Girls,
HJ - Yay on finding the ring. What a relief, I hate it when things go missing, especially things I love and that mean a lot to me.
Starry - How did your driving lesson go? Hope you werent too nervous. Lara is coping well with her teeth, I wouldnt even know they were there coz she hasnt been sooky or anything, touch wood she stays like that. I must admit I will miss her gummy smile too. Did you fluffy mail arrive?
Hollye- Any word on the house? Good luck with it all. How is Mia today? Poor little bub!
Kim - Good to hear from you. I've only not long put Lara into size 00, Meara must be thriving on her food! How come your getting her back checked? Good luck, hope everything goes well.
1stBub - I was the same when I was TTC, I didnt want many people knowing coz it does put pressure on. Fingers crossed it wont take too long.
I'd better go and start cooking dinner. Hi to everyone I have missed.
-
Well what a day!
Went to specialist and hospita for Jorda's US and x-ray.. 4 hours later find out its a group of blood vessels on teh back of her neck.. Not serious but needs to be removed when she is 2-4 years old. So that was the morning.
then this afternoon! oh my gosh.
jorda has been flu/coldish so i took her to my GP.... well she went blue and couldnt breath as she has so much junk up her nose and in ther throat and from being premie... she is not as developed as others with esophogus.. So off to EMERGENCY we go.. and she has bronchitis and ear infecton, and did have a urinary tract infection. So she is now drugged to the eyeballs and sleeping coughing like crazy.
So I am a little on edge now!
-
didi - oh my gosh i would be on edge too - bet u didnt sleep much last night - how is Jorda now?
Hollye - please tell me u have got the house!!! also Mia has dropped her solids and B has dropped her bottles - im lucky to get 2 bottles out of her these days?????!!!!!
ops gotta go - be back with more later
Hello to everyone
-
Didi - I hope Jorda is ok. What a day you had yesterday.
-
Ya we are still not out of the woods... but was awful so upsetting and scared when she stopped couldnt breath
-
oh no didi... how bloody scary! I hope she gets better soon! Do u have a vaporiser? it has been a godsend here.
Mia is still sick.. oh joy.
STILL havent heard about the house.. i rang them wednesday and she said that im in the final 3 and now they are just waiting for the landlord to make a decision.
wooohooo Mia is 7 months old today!
-
Hi everyone,
I'm flooded in at the moment so will take the opportunity whilst not at work to finally get around to posting.
Olive is doing really well, she's over her cold (except for a bit of a cough) and is crawling like a manic now. Everyone seems to think she will be an early walker as she is already pulling herself up and trying to work it out. Heaven help us then! She has settled into day care well now and loves playing with other kids. At MG she's a bit of a bully though. As she is the only one crawling, she just goes up to the other babies and tries to take their toys and sits on top of them. As she as she sees other children she starts laughing, so cute. I was going to get her weighed today but can't now so will do that next week when i'm back to my normal work hours and routine.
She has also slept through the last 2 nights, yeah and yesterday had a 3hr sleep in the arvo. Man I hope it stays that way. She has 3 teeth now with 2 still about to break the surface, she must be through the worst of it hopefully. She even has a blood blister on the top one.
I really hope that my parents house doesn't flood this time, fingers crossed. I have decided to close the childcare centre as it's to risky with all the rain and wind up here.
didi - Hope Jorda gets better soon! Hoiw scary
Sorry for lack of persies
I was wondering if you could all let me know what you are feeding your bubs for each meal, I need some fresh, healthy ideas.
ATM a typical day for Olive is porriage and either fig, banana or avocado. For lunch (which she only has sometimes) usually mashed avocado or avocado on wholegrain or spelt bread or she will have a snack of dried pineapple or dried banana. I also made some fig jelly last weekend but she wasn't to keen. For dinner- Last weekend I made a batch of sweet pot, cob of corn, carrot, zucchini, squah and basmati rice pureed and Olive loved it!!! I have frozen it into portions and that has been a huge hit. I do jars half the time as it's easier after work and to give her some variety. She tried the Heinz Organic chicken and sweet pot and the butternut pumpkin pilaf and she loved these. I might poach some chicken breast and try to make my own creation this weekend. Looking forward to hearing what you guys feed your bubs.
-
Been very busy here as well, Julian has a cold as do Wyatt and Cody, so have 3 snotty and grumpy boys. Then we've had a crap load of rain which flooded some of the roads around here, plus we're looking at houses to move and there are heaps of people and not alot of houses. We've got another inspection today with a house that we like and hopefully put the application in as well. We put an application in for one yesterday so hopefully we will get at least one of them.
Julian has his physio appointment at 11am today and fingers crossed this will be the very last time, as he is now up on his hands and knees for a few days now and that is what they wanted him to be able to do.
Ok off to do some housework before I leave. Have a great day everyone.
-
OM - For lunch some things Mia has is , Yogurt, Avacado on toast, Fruit ( so far shes had rockmelon, watermelon and banana) umm.. n what evers going. Tea time.. usually what ever we are having. I was using jars but they are gross and full of crap. They make her poo's like tar lol. But that being said I am guilty of giving her one every now and then. My god.. they smell so bad. lol. She likes the tomatoe based ones more. Um.. i do her vegies (brocolli, cauliflower, peas, corn, carrot and zuchini) every 2 weeks. It gets cooked all together and frozen in icecube trays. I have some baby pasta in the freezer too which i have mixed with chopped roast chicken breast and a little white sauce. Even if what we are having doesnt have too much goodness in it i mix it with her veg and sometimes pasta to make it much more nutricious.
-
We nearly have teeth 3 & 4 :) poor little man...they must hurt soo much :( he is biting everything...
Hollye we got told by our nutritionist that making a bulk lot of vegies and freezing them is not good. That when they have been cooked and then frozen then defrosted ALOT of the nutrition is taken out of the vegies.... just food for thought...
Jack does eat what we are eating and eats jars of baby oats (organic) with figs and other fruits in them.
-
still no teeth here.. no nothing...
kat- thanks for that info.
-
Just on another topic..
When you go to the shops do you tend to buy toys for your little one?
Are you into having lots of things for him/her?
So may cute things you need them??
-
Hollye - Not sure which jars your buying but the ones we have here are always organic and only have vegies. The only ones that I have seen with spices was the butternut pumpkin one Olive had last night. They are perserved by airlocking not by preservatives. I am very health food concious and always read labels for Olive's things. I agree that baby food products are sometimes full of sugar and salt though, especially baby yogurts and cheese. I steer clear of salty things as I don't want heart disease later on and for Olive to get used to always having seasonings.
didi - I do buy new toys occasionally as Olive gets bored with hers and we do a bit of rotating as well as she has heaps. Now that she is crawling she is into everything we are doing anyway and doesn't play with her toys for long! I give her spoons and stuff like that and she is quite happy. I'm do buy lots of clothes though, both new and second hand but then I love clothes shopping for me to:)
