LOL. That's so true about the crap on TV. we actually got pay tv about a month b4 bub was born for that reason. It's still crap of course, but we get more choices of which crap to watch.
Congrats James and Tanstar on your EBM success!!! I've yet to be able to express enough for a whole feed. It takes me 2 or 3 separate goes to get a 1/2 decent amount.
Hey Tan, I tried Liam back in the hammock the other day and he seemed happy enough eventually, but he gets slouched so much his chin comes right down onto his chest. I was nervous to leave him like that sleeping coz it would have to restrict his breathing (though he was sleeping for about 15 mins happily enough). Is there a trick to it, or do i just have a dodgy brand?
HJ & Hollye - I was reading up on formula a few days ago. Here's the go: In Oz they're really similar coz they have to abide by strict standards. The difference is that some have extras like more Omega or whatever, but the main difference is that some are Whey based, while others are Caseinate based. Whey based is meant to be closer to breastmilk and generally more gentle on bubs tummy. The one that kept being recommended was Heinz Nurture which is still one of the cheaper brands (general concensus is the cheaper brands are only cheap because they're not seen as a 'strictly baby formula brand', so it's only because of consumers mindset), but it's whey based and most people who had issues with other brands found this was better for their bubs. The big thing is not to change brands too often - e.g. don't just get whatever's on special, find one that works and stick with it.
The one we've been using is apparently Caseinate based, and Liam was having a really hard time getting it through his system (painful grunts groans and cries), so I think we'll try the Heinz one - although we've been using Infacol Wind Drops for a couple of days now and that seems to be working really well for him.
Enough of my info-diahrea. Hope you all have a great day!
