Tan - woohoo thats great news!!! maybe its cause he is a boy tho and they will take what ever they can get - where as we girls are a bit more fussy!!!!

1stBub27 - thank u very much for that interesting bit of information - i now have Bianca on Karicare (not gold) and so far i think its going okay - much better than the S26 anyway - i want to try the Heinz one now - but i better not changer her again! what formula are u using?

Hollye - do u have to keep rubbing it in on how much sleep u are getting? LOL
I had a crap night last night, and low and behold i was by myself! i knew the night before was too go to be true! Bianca cried her self to sleep and ended up asleep at 2305 - was up at 0230 - back to sleep at 0330 and up at 0456 and stayed awake until 0800!!! i hardly had any sleep! DH is getting up too her all tonight! and wats the bet she either sleeps thru or only gets up once?!

Picked Bianca's photo's up from PixiePhotos today and my gosh do they look gorgouse!

1stbub - Im not sure about the head thing hun, James tends to put his head to one side while sleeping and he is a big boy too - over 5kgs so that might make a difference?? His head doesn't slouch down much at all - in fact its down further in the car capsule... Sorry not much help - I will post a pic of him in it next week if you like to see what it/he look like in it - can't do it now because of my downloading limits.

Kylie - I have the Avent manual too and love it = easy to use!

Phwoar! I love my new avi that Trillian did! I wish I looked like that in real life!! Hehe! Getting my hair done was great - so relaxing and nice to know my little man was fine with dad! Off to get the kids ready for bed! Have a great night all!

Liam is 6 weeks today!!! YAY!!

We're using Nesle Lactogen. It hasn't been too bad - with the Infacol drops anyway, but I'm looking forward to trying Heinz. HJ, If you're looking at changing your formula again, just run it past your Dr 1st. Perhaps mention it at your 6 week checkup. I've been reading a lot of people haven't been happy with the s26. But I guess it depends on your bub.

Tan - that'd be great, thanks. He is deffinitely better in it since he's gotten bigger, so maybe it'll just get better as he gets bigger.

Olivesmummy - yep I was shocked by how little the payments are, too! I don't want to be ungrateful since I'm getting something for 'nothing', but........
And 'ahhh, Tommy Tippee'. I've got a few things of theirs and been really happy. I have an AVENT pump which is supposed to be really good. I might keep practising with that, but if I get nowhere I might try the Tommy Tippee.

Kylie - I made a stew the other night and threw all kinds of hot spices in it, the next day Liam chucked soooooo much!! And he's not a 'chucker'. Think I'll avoid the Indian and Mexican too. My DH gave him a bit of Dutch Licorice (which he ADORES and I HATE) to try last night - just put it to his lips for his tongue to taste, and he loved it. Is that dangerous for them in anyway? (you know, apart from having that awful taste in his mouth!! ) I think he's just discovered his tongue too. He keeps half turning it and running it through his mouth with that 'discovering things' look.

    hi everyone!

tan-youre looking great girl!! love the new avvy! I have requested an update too, its a little sad though, I remember how excited I was to get a belly on mine

I have an avent manual pump, love it, works great for me, as long as you put it together properly.... there is this little disk in the pump that goes in a certain way, put it in wrong and it doesnt work! took me a while to figure that one out.

1stbub- Jacob has been doing the tongue thing too, yesterday he was so awake and alert, ALL day, dp was sticking his tongue out at him and Jacob started copying I thought that was pretty amamzing, he tries to copy facial expressions too, its pretty funny.
I dont think theres anything wrong with letting bub taste something like that, its not like they can choke or anything just by licking something, but the licorice might give him the runs, probably not in that quantity though!

olivesmummy- I think I worked out that I would get a measly $20 a fortnight, so we didnt bother, too much bloody paperwork for such a tiny amount! I am not liking being dependant on dp for money, I am so used to always having my own cash IYKWIM?
I had my hospital appointment (complications from the csection) on wednesday and caught the bus in, left Jacob with his daddy for the forst time it was soooo weird, I kept having this feeling like I had forgotten something.... anyway, before I left I expressed a bottle for Jacob and managed to get almost 125ml in about 6 mins I was stunned, the milk was just spurting out! I even had to put the bottle top under my other breast to catch the let down from that and got another good 10-20mls just from that!!
I am going thru so many breast pads its not funny.

hj- I hope you had a better night last night, Jacob has been having the occasional bad night where he decides he is starving and wants to feed every 1 1/2 hours, not good for mummy! he scared the ***** out of me on tuesday night though, I fed him at 11:30 and he went down to sleep at around 12:00, Iwoke up at 4:45 with sore boobs and thought omg, he hasnt woken up!! I lept out of bed and jumped to the bassinette thinking the worst, and there he was sleeping peacefully- hmph- then woke up 15 minslater, so 5hrs!! then after his feed he slept fo another 5! im hoping thiswill be a continuing trend.
he is soo awake during the day now, has no interest in sleeping, just wants to hang with his mummy and have the odd15-20 min nap in his bouncer.
I am amazedat his head and neck control already, hes been pretty strong sice birth I guess, he is always headbutting people!

big hello to hollye , kylie , blizz and snoops and anyone else i have missed, hope you all have fantastic days with good well behaved bubs....

    Hi everyone,
Olive is 6 wks today. Just to show me what a big girl she is she slept for 7.5 hrs last night, my boobs were about to burst!
How is eveyone going with exercising? I was really good before bub was born, riding my exercise bike for 30mins everyday even through pregnancy. I had lost 13kgs and kept it off for a year but right now it's pretty low on the priority list to be honest. I do some crunches and pelvic floor and thats about it. I'm not stressing to bad about it though, seeing as I just had a baby it's ok to be a bit pudgy for a while. I keep thinking I only have 7kgs to lose to get back to where I was, half of what I lost before. My sister is getting married in march which is kind of good as it gives me a goal to work towards.
Another thing low on the priority list is housework. I mean I do the basics but having a baby really does take up a lot of time. I'm just lucky hubby helps and doesn't really care about the housework anyway, it's more when people come over especially his mum. A lady at the baby clinic said "your children remember how much fun they had with you not how clean the house was." So true!

hey olivesmummy, congratulations on 6 wks!! I cant believe how quickly the time has passed!! they do grow up too quick...

in regards to exercise....hmmm....I was never much of an exercise buff, I was probably 10kg overweight prepregnancy, about 74kg, I did lose weight in my first trimester, but I got up to 100kg by the end, luckily most of it was fluid, by two weeks post partum I weighed 76kg, I was pretty chuffed about that!
I dont have a pram yet, dps sister is giving us hers, but she hasnt brought it round yet, I have a hug a bub and Jacob loves it but due to the c section it is quite an ordeal to wear him for more than an hour without it becoming painfull, evn just walking to the shops by myself takes it out of me.
when we do get the pram I am hoping to be able to get out a lot more with bubs, I feel so saggy and baggy, just want to tighten it all up, my legs are covered in stretchmarks from being so swollen
its amazing what pregnancy does to the body (not in a good way!) but its all worth it.

housework- thank god I have my dishwasher! the floors havent been cleaned as often as usual, the washing maybe gets done.....depends how I feel! but now Jacob is so awake its a bit harder to get anything done as he wants to be on me or have me talking to him constantly.oh well, wish I could afford a cleaner, dp does nothing around the house and thinks hes great cos he changes the odd nappy!!

Arrgghhhhhh we had the night from hell - not James though, Izzy was beside herself with a tummy ache and all I could do was stroke her hair and cry with her She had a fever of nearly 40 the other day and the Dr again today thinks it is a bit of a sore throat but nothing too serious thank goodness but I am pretty tired.

I need to start exercising desperately. I have lost 15kgs of the 20 I put on with James but that still leaves me 5 kgs heavier than I am happy with so I have 10 to go. I am going to start walking/running each day with the kids or without them so I can run, and also slowly doing tummy exercises because I have such a big separation. I feel horrible about myself but I know it's only been 6 weeks tomorrow.

I do whatever housework I can = James is often happily awake in his bouncer so I vacuum around him, and Iz just follows me around with a broom! We have a new dishwasher - lifesaver, and I do bits of dusting, mopping foldng washing when I can. I've given up on a "tidy" house with a toddler but it is clean!

1stBub27 - i know the formula u are using - i have seen it! for now i think i will just stick with Karicare - it seems pretty good!

Starry - DH was home last night so he got up too Bianca and let me sleep - however would u believe it she wasnt too bad last night - went to bed at 2300, woke at 0300 back to bed at 0400ish and was up again at 0700 - she is getting harder and harder to put back to sleep tho - and what is with her going to be so late - we just cannot get her into bed earlier she is wide awake from about 1700 until we get her too bed which mind u is hard!
Gee what a good boy is Jacob sleeping for all that time! isnt it funny how if they sleep for 5mins longer than they usually would we are wide awake and checking up on them!
B holds her head up pretty well also - when burbing her she has been known to slam her head into ours and than she lets out a blood curdling scream - Does Jacob do that?
Before we know it our lil bubs are going to be crawling!

Olive'smummy - woohoo on the big long sleep! apart from the sore boobs i bet u were pretty happy with that!
Exercising????? what is that? its just like Sleep - im surprised i can spell 2 words that i dont know the meaning of hahahaha
I have lost 10.6kgs since having Bianca - im lighter than what i started at - i lost that much pretty much straight away and have somehow managed to keep it off - would love to lose more but i think im going to have to exercise to do that! but with not having time and it being too hot (i hate to sweat) i cant see that happening anytime soon!
wouldnt mind joining the gym - but too expensive!
However im on top of my house work - i make sure i do a bit every day - im a bit of a clean freak - and everyone says i should sleep during the day while Bianca is - but no can do - too much stuff to do!

Hi all, sorry I won't do personals but I've read all posts and will try and make comments on things I've read.

Head control all my boys have had great head control since birth and Julian isn't any different, it's so great that they are strong.

Exercise I'm like Tan, I've had a big muscle separation and have to be careful so will be talking to the Dr about it when I can get there. I've been walking the older two boys to school since Julian was two weeks old and now I've been doing the pick up as well so been getting there.

Formula my older three have all had Hienz Nurture and that's been good for them, I think you just have to find one that is right for bub and if that means trying a few then so be it.

It's been so hot here today and I've got Julian in just a nappy and singlet and he's still a bit warmish, but he's also finding it hard to sleep, even though he has a fan in his room and we have the air-con in the lounge/dining room. I got my hair all cut off and foils put in last Saturday and it feels so much better and cooler. I also went to the Brissy BB xmas dinner last Sat and it was great, had heaps of fun and so did DH.

    hug xoxo
