PP You're so clever making those nappy covers for Amy.They are fantastic. I wish I could sew.

TERU Byron sucks on his hands like theres no tomorrow. He gets a stinky head sometimes. He sweats way too much

KATONES Byron use to happily tummy sleep but not anymore. He's too busy being a turtle with his head poked right up to see whats happening around.

TANYA Hope the hearing test went well

As for the wrapping.. I still wrap Byron. There is no way in hell he would sleep unwrapped. I must say though, I'm a great wrapper. So use to wrapping my nieces. I would love to wean him off it but not sure how. I think they say they have that startle reflex till 4/4.5 months. Byron is still only 3 months corrected so I guess I have at least another month before I should consider it.

He had such a terrible day & night yesterday. He woke up at 2.30pm after only napping for an hour, then wouldn't go back to sleep. I fed him at 3.30pm, tried to put him down at 5pm, nope, so tried again at 6pm, nope, so I thought he may be hungry so I fed him again. I then tried at 8pm to feed him before putting him to bed & whammo, a massive projectile vomit, everywhere! And it smelt terrible. So I guess that's what was upsetting him. He went straight to sleep after that. But then he woke at 1.30am for a feed. Woke again at 4am, DH settled him, then I settled him again at 5am, then he woke at 6am. I hope this was a once off. This is how he was when we first got him home from the hospital.

My shark bite is ok. It is so bruised & swollen. But not too painful.

    Hi to everyone

Well i am at a crossroad girls.

DS breastfed this morning at 4am and then threw the whole feed up. Everywhere i had to change his sheets and liner because they were so soaked!!!! Then i tried to express at630 and got 100ml total from both breasts.

I think my expressing and bottle feeding has effected my supply. i have read that switching to reflux formula makes it worse than breastfeeding and so i should continue bf-ing... but i dont know what to do

Formula - DH can help, forced to feed upright (i get lazy atm with feeds and often feed laying down which i know is part of the problem), he seems to suck the bottle better than breast

Breast - natural, better for him, no reason why i cant physically breastfeed

I dont want the judgement and questions "why arent you bfing, why did you give up, you know it is better blah blah blah and feel this will happen if i do!!

    arrhhh *sob*

PP - its up to you. But one word of advice. When i had Mia on the reflux formula she found it so hard to bring up her wind coz it was heavier than normal formula. so fix one and get aanother iykwim. Not that it fixed her problem, her spews were just really thick so she would gag on them every now and then. Expressing does mess with your supply... have you thought about getting him a thickner to take before a BF??? that way hes having thicker breastmilk and may be able to keep it down better?

    Hi - just a quickie

PP - I feel the same way at the moment with b/f, but cos of Z's biting and fussing - but he is obviously growing with good weight gains just like E. I just keep trying to think of the extra work bottles are (no offence anyone!) - but with others I like to take any shortcuts I can!

PP - I don't have any wise words of advice, but good luck with your decision. I think dealing with the judgement is really difficult and whether we try to ignore it or not, it still influences what we do... but at the end of the day, if there's a happy mummy and a happy baby that's all you need. And sorry, but just a thought - have you tried ringing ABA and seeing if they have any suggestions?

I was in Target yesterday and the pathway got blocked by a mum with her three young kids. I stood and waited until they'd cleared the way (took a little while) and as I walked past, the mum looked over at me with my pram and declared: "don't have more than one, just don't do it!!!". Cracked me up big time

Re wrapping, we don't wrap X any more. He started getting out of EVERYTHING and travelling up his cot leaving all bedding/wraps behind... so we love sleeping bags now. He doesn't seem to startle in them either.

Oh and Georgi, X sucks on his hands all the time too... only he's "mittened" 98% of the time, so he just gets soggy mittens... I'm forever washing them. But if I leave him un-mittened he can do an astonishing amount of damage in a very short time. So it's turkey drumsticks for him!

SamiH - great on Z's weight btw (going back to an older post I think!), and I reckon he's longer than X too (but a bit lighter) - he is looking gorgeous... ahem... handsome in your sig pic.

Tanya - good luck with the hearing test.

    Hmm what a disorganised post

oh and my most important happening - AF is back!!!!! I'd checked with my mother & sisters, and they were all at 3-4 months, so no surprise really... but bah, coulda lived without it for a bit longer!!!!

PP hun you have to do what makes you & Ethan happy....
i wish i was able to still be BF'ing..BUT i highly doubt i would have been able to..my supply was shiat!! and that was because of my meds.. and NO amount of trying to boost my supply would have worked...

    Hello all
Busy day here for me, I decided that the fridge and freezer needed to be defrosted and cleaned, It was getting a bit much. So up early and all the good unloaded in to cooler bags power off and I was ready to go. I must say it all went pretty smoothly and now I have the bestest cleanest fridge in Cairns if not Australia.

The rest of the day I just was a lazy bum. I had my nap with Bethany and yeah that was about it.
Andrew got an exercise bike today from his grandparents so is merrily peddeling away in the other room (along with the drying clothes junk etc!) he has rigged up the other TV and DVD so you can watch things as you peddle so who knows we could all become super trim anytime now!

PP~~ I hope the feeding thing works for you, I think the important thing is whatever works for you and Ethan and that you are both happy Maybe check out the ABA site??

Bethany is a real hand sucker too at the moment that and the endless drool. Although the drool seems to have let up

Well I should go and do something about dinner and the squealling wiggle worm on the mat...
    Back later maybe!!

PP - I'm also in awe of your sewing abilities. As for BFing I agree with the girls that it's up to you. But if you want to continue maybe you can consult someone for help?

amy - Can you come clean my fridge?

    Hi to everyone else!

Yeah Maya sucks her hands all the time too. Sometimes she tries to stick both in her mouth at the same time and they don't fit together. She also keeps making herself gag by sticking her hands too far down!

Tomorrow is my niece's 1st bday and I'm not looking forward to going TBH. Everyone is going to want to look at her and hold her and she'll cry when they do! And then all I'll hear about is wind and that I should burp her! arghh! They never think she could be crying cos there's too many people around her.. it has to be wind.

TERU Sorry I can't give you any advice. I just wouldn't know what to do.

Ok. So it's been 2 nights now that Byron has woken up for a feed. Last night, or this morning should I say, he woke up at 3.30am. Whats doin??? Then about every 30mins from there till 7.30am. I took him in bed with me from 5am & just patted him every time he woke up. He slept really well during the day yesterday. He didn't have any long awake time like he usually does but he fed really well too. 6 feeds in 24 hours. I hope it's just a phase. I know SAMI & AMANDA have just gone through it. Fingers crossed he'll be back to sleeping through in a couple of days.

I'm still resting up my leg so doing nothing today. Not even cleaning! DH has gone back to work today so i'm on my own again. He's been great, cooking & cleaning, looking after Byron while I rest this leg. But the problem was he always rocked Byron to sleep, no matter what I said. So today it's lots of crying to get him back into his routine, while DH isn't here cause always tells me to pick him up

he will sleep through again. Mia goes through fases... the longest one lasted a week where she was sleeping for a max of 2 hours o/n. not fun. But it does get better... we had a late night last night so she slept in the car and we got home about 12:30am and she was asleep by 1am and is still asleep now.. thought she would have been starving by now.. oh well, she will let me know.

teruteru - what do his "episodes" involve? yelling...screaming..punching walls...or like sitting by himself?

2 more sleeps till Mia's appointment!! yay!

Mayb try and get him into a hobbie.. even if its pool or drinks with friends so h can get abit of a release from home time? i know its hard hunny, but everytime he is hving a moment just think "its ok, tomorrow is another day.. its just for today" I do that with Mia.. i take deep breaths and i say to myself "its ok, she wont scream forever". HTH Hugs

Mia is no better.. 60-80mls throwing up heaps.... i hope i get some answers on Tuesday!

Teru - what does he say or do when you suggest help? Does he recognise he has a problem? Perhaps organise some individual counselling for you and they can give you some strategies to use to help him? *hugs* honey! we are here for you.

Hollye- pooh on the vomits. Ethan has been realitively Spew=free today which has been nice. I have stretched his feeds out (no less than 2.5 hrs between), and fed (BF) with him sitting upright and then having him in that same position for at least 20 minutes before moving him. And so far that is working for us

Girls - Ethan has been waking through the night again too. They change their routine all the time. in 3 months they will get teeth and be up all night again and this is go on for up to a year of uncertainity in routines until all teeth are through too. yay huh lol.

Ethan woke at 230am and did the biggest poo ever lol. He is in sposies overnight now so it doesnt matter too much - too hard to do cloth. Then i got him down on HIS BACK WRAPPED!!! from 3.30-6am woohoo... i was very proud he lasted that long on his back. He woke at 6am as DD woke then.

DD has been in her big bed for 2 nights now. We leave the door ajar so she can climb off and come to us in the morning , i think it helped her transition a lot better. When Ethan is big enough he will have his cot transfer to a toddler bed so wont be just a big transition like DD had from portacot to a trundle bed

OTherwise we have had a nice day. I bake raspberry and banana muffins and DH and I have been watchng movies while the kids slept and had a good 2 hrs to connect as people again (never seem to find the time!!).

Thinking of trying a baby bjorn for Ethan.. i have a babyrock sling but i find it hard to juggle him in it with holding ashley. as he is often to one side. SO i was going to see if i can ebay a cheap front carrier to try..... then sell my babyrock sling.

Decided i am going shopping tomorrow, look for new shoes, handbag and go to the target baby sale to get huggies

What wipes do people use for their babyes bums? I only use them on dirty bums otherwise i use water and a cloth to wipe over wee bums but might see if there is a gentle wipe out there?
Ashleys Nappy rash since going to sposies part time is shocking. poor thing. i hope she toliet trains soon in the mean time i let her run around naked as much as i can

Jack fed as soon as we got to the shops..layed around for abit then got grizzly and went off to sleep in a flash..and slept for the next 2hrs

KATONES. I'm planning to baptise BJ catholic too. But I want to do it in Sydney as most of our family are there, plus I want to have it in the Chapel I was christened in, but just haven't pulled my finger out to make the enquiries. Naughty mummy!

PP. Yay for less spew! I always give BJ 20mins in his rocker (locked, not rocking) after every feed. Glad he slept well too. I'm guessing Target have huggies on sale? I need some

HOLLYE. Only 1 more day to see the Paed. I hope you get all your answers tomorrow "hugs"

TERU. I think PP has a good idea there. Get some councelling yourself. That would have to help immensely, I'd imagine.

Well great news. BJ (my new abbreviation for Byron John) slept from 8.30pm to 6.15am without a peep. It was a bit cooler here last night so I dressed him in long arm, long leg jarmies & a thick wrap. I think maybe he was cold the other nights. Hmmmm, who knows.

My sister & her girls have been up since new years day but are going back to Sydney tomorrow.... Boo. We are going to Sydney in Feb so not too long to wait.

Just gonna try to do some cleaning today. I don't know how my leg will hold up as it seemed to be bleeding again last night. Just a little. Maybe I should take just one more day off!
