    Selfish post sorry

Having a topsy turvey day today with Z - wants to snack and only sleeping for one 30 - 40 minute cycle - he did well overnight 8pm - 5.45am - but when he is awake today he is just, well, crying and screaming - which is out of character for him. Hmmmmmm I have looked at his gums thinking he might be teething early but can't see any inflammation or spots, it doesn't seem to be wind .... so after dealing with that this morning I gave him a dose of Paracetomol at 12.30pm cos I just felt clueless and he had tears so was obivously in pain from something. He fell semi-asleep in my arms, put him down at 1 - he stirred 10 minutes ago and sounds like he has gone into his next sleep cycle - fingers crossed.

We are going out to friends in another 2 hours for Christmas get together so reaallly need him to have some sleep now - I am sure all is fine - just one of those days - but out of character for him as I said.

Oh well, I feel much better now for getting it up - thanks if you read it!

Well, thanks for the cheers - poor fella something is up - mummy's intuition - at the christmas thing ppl were saying - oh probably just tired, he's going into that next age phase, oh just some wind - I'm like FFS this is my 3rd everybody, I know when to trust my gut ... so I was gr8 company He had two 20 min naps there and wouldn't feed well and cried real tears again. Booohooo. He WAS overtired by the time we got home LOL

We came home early about 30 mins ago, gave him another dose of panadol, a feed on his favourite side LOL and he is now asleep. I am hoping it was just a bad day and he had a headache/tummy ache or something and he sleeps well and wakes up his gorgeous bright little self in the morning - here's hoping.

Cheers to a good night - wish I could have a few glasses of bubbles right now .....

    Gosh it's quiet on here!

Well I'm madly trying to finish off a Christmas card / Thank-you card / Christmas letter! I reckon I can get 'em done & out by COB Monday... so most people will get 'em by Xmas day.... nothing like having a deadline to get me moving...

Katones - good luck tonight, I hope he starts taking more. Does he seem his normal self otherwise? Is he falling asleep or just refusing to drink more?

SamiH - I hope the panadol and the favourite side (lol) did the trick for Z, sending you some e-bubbles for good luck.

I'm off to express and then it's sleepy bobos time!!

P.S. have to retract what I've said re MIL... she's been around a few times recently and been just LOVELY! Fed my boy a bottle, helped me bath him today and is generally besotted with him, and he's been turning on the charm... knows which side his bread is buttered!

Well I'm up! Z just had a feed and it was a good one so I am relieved about that = and no crying whilst he was up so that is great - after he went to bed last night no peep until 3.50am so i didn't mind feeding him then - but i have been up just checking on him

    Ahhhhhhhhhhh a new day

SamiH yay for you no crying at night lol... Ethan woke at 430 (went to bed a little later 830pm) and so i fed him and he snuggled with me until 630
I hope today is a better day for you

Belf - woohoo on the sleeping bags. hope they make a difference for you. Neither of my children would use sheets and i think SB are wonderful. especially when they start walking in themand look like little penguins lol
And MIL surprise you sometimes dont they!

Katones - i am sorry you have so much emotional turmoil at the moment with Jack. Just know that he is getting bigger and so he is doing fine! Ashley was a snack feeder for 7 months. only would have th smallest amount (when we went to formula would be lucky she would take 80ml a time.) but would want to feed every 2 hours.. (even overnight unti l she was 4 months). She would only be putting on 100-200gm a month, and people always tried to stress me out over it. but she was developing normally! smiling, rolling and all that stuff at the right times so i wasnt worried.

Even now with weight she is only 10.5kg at 18months (my neice is 5 months and pushing 9kg lol) but that is just her!

I hope your paed can give some more reassurance today fo ryou when you ring.

Kurazia - Please come back honey! we would love to hear how your little one and you are going

Well Ethan is cooing and ahhing all the time now. LOL so funny to hear him have a conversation. ANd Ashley loves it as she thinks he is talking to her!

Have christmas lunch here on thursday for 15 people... still trying to decide if we eat inside or outside..... outside is more room and airy but inside is airconditioned and cramp.... mmmmmm decisions decisions...

Today i am planning a NOTHING day lol. me, he couch and reruns of monk i think hehe.

Ooops Ashley is awake... time for the potty!

Well I have just had brekky - Zander is still asleep - so he must need it - that is 12.5 hours now with feed in the middle! But I don't wanna have a shower until he wakes otherwise I have to clean the bathroom afterwards from the projectile spray of my boobs

PP - Giselle is only just 13kgs and is 4 in April. Riley was 13kg at 12 months old! So yes, I completely understand how ppl stress us out with weight etc. She too developed normally, she is just petite!

Christmas in or out - if ppl are used to the hot weather and not from say Melbourne , I would eat out, then kids can make noise etc and it won't seem cramped.

It is supposed to be 31 here next Sat (my family will have arrived for our christmas) - and my dad is a fuddy duddy who will whinge about the heat - like I can do anything about it - we do have an aircon, but I better take an extra dose of patience that day.

belfie - e-bubbles - hopefully when we come down whenever next year we can have a glass and a toast to our X/Zander's!

katones - I understand re not taking much, and i know mummy's instinct etc - but we have nothing else to guide us but wet nappies, no temp, and smiles! It is hard, but if he is still sleeping well he can't be too hungry. That's what I thought about Z overnight, if he is sleeping well still, he must feel ok just really tired.

He is stirring and making a few noises - but it still could be 20 mins before he tells us he wants UP now - what a big sleep!

Hey girls.. I've still been lurking, just not posting. Don't have much to say.. Byron is doing great. I'm blessed with a great baby. I just love him more & more each day.
I did have an issue that he wasn't making eye contact. Everytime I got in his sight, he would look the other way. I got all stressed about it so I rang the Paed & he said it's nothing to worry about, it's just that some babies prefer to look at light other than peoples faces. He said just to keep in his face and keep singing to him. So that consumes most of my day. I'm seeing the benefits to it though. I'm getting alot more eye contact. Though he prefers if I do sign language with my singing (lucky I am fluent in sign as both my parents are deaf). He loves looking at my hands move.

I've been catching up with the girls from mothers group 3 x per week for a walk or yoga session. It's been great to get out and active again.

My mum is coming up from Sydney today to meet her grandson for the first time. I'm looking forward to having christmas here. She leaves on Boxing day then DH's parents come up on Saturday & his brother & fiance are coming on Sunday. I'll be pretty busy entertaining till new years.

Although I will still be reading your posts, I may not post so WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR! MMMMMMWAH!

LMAO samiH! - gotta love the warm shower water feature after a full night of boobs! hahahahahahahaha! you crack me up girl!

Georgi! how wonderful that you can teach byron Signing. They say babies are great at picking it up . And he will be able to communicate early with your parents too!

i wish i could pop out for some yoga lol... no not possible! hehe. But Ashley starts FDC in 2 weeks.... oooh so nervous for her (i know eventually she will settle in and love it but i get sad ).... So will see what i get up to with 1 on 1 time with Ethan 2 days a week

(first plan is get my hair done!!!... it is sooo overdue... i was 35 weeks preg last time i had it cut and coloured!... can anyone spell regrwoth??)

PP - Cute photo in your sig. I need to get my hair done too. Not sure when that'll happen though!

teruteru - Yeah dressing them in less clothes is a start to keeping babies cool.

Georgi - I've read that babies can learn to sign before they can talk! So you might be on to a good thing!

katones - Great news re: Jacks feeding. I still worry about Maya's feeding because she does seem to drink less now. She doesn't want to feed as often in a day now and will drink for shorter time at each feed. But being BF I can't tell how much she's actually drinking!

belfie - It's good to know I'm not the only person who'll be posting my Xmas/thank you cards on Monday! Last minute.. which is always the case with me and nothing to do with having a baby.

On Friday night I went to an Osteo cos I am still having problems with pains and numbness in my hands, knees and feet. I thought that they would have gone by now!

Anyway, I left Maya with DH around feed time and Maya just would not take a bottle. So by the time I got home she was a screaming mess. I tried feeding her from the boob for a little bit and then giving her a bottle but she won't have a bottle. Now I want to try and 'teach' her to have a bottle cos otherwise I won't be able to go out for longer periods without her!! She will accept it in her mouth if she's not crying, but she just won't suck on it. Does anyone have any ideas on how to help her learn to suck on a bottle?

tanya - why not try a cup or spouted cup?
ashley wouldnt take a bottle and she would take a spouted cup... so we skipped the bottle all together.
Ethan wont take a bottle either. so we will prob do the same and just go straight to a cup

Teru - keep a singlet on - i find this stops them sweating so much. also i have Ethan under tha fan or with the aircon on in the middle of the day while he is asleep.
you could try wiping bubs over with a cool washer every now and then

PP - that's a good tip re the singlet... X is currently in a singlet and nappy! It's hot here today! Cheers to the "nothing" day.

Tanya - I hope the osteo helps and sorry I don't have any tips re the bottle. X always took the bottle better than he took boob he's got his priorities ALL wrong lol. Good luck with it.

Teruteru - hope Dragon is managing to keep cool enuff in this heat!

Georgi - gosh that's awesome that Byron will be able to learn signing, and I imagine a huge relief not to worry re the eye contact either.

Kat - I'm glad Jack is taking some more for you, hope it continues.

SamiH - lol on the shower spray! And definitely a glass & toast to the Z/Xanders!

I've finished "designing" my Xmas card... and took some photos of my little Xander Claus! Sitting up grumpy Chrismas elf and lying down smiley Xmas elf!
He's had a very unsettled day today, so it was a miracle to get a smile too - he hates the camera and usually frowns at it! Plus I meant to take these yesterday but he did his "every 6 days" poop and overflowed onto the santa suit.... so we had to wait for it to dry again!

Oops he's wailing again, off for some settling... fingers crossed.

    ack - double post

You know it has occurred to me that I basically treat X like a rather pudgy Ken doll... fodder for dressing up in silly clothes
