or even search Elimination Communication on BB - there's a few of us who do it and the most recent thread on it gives you a good idea of what it's about ALso known as Natural Infant Hygiene. Your DH's abuela probably used it with her kids, I know mine did
Thanks Jen You seem to be the only one who answers me here.
I've been ok, struggling, but really pushing myself to be better - Hope your ok and how's everything going with little miss?
Aww, LJ - I feel like I'm hitting and running in here all the time, no time for decent responses, that's why my quick notes appear on FB instead, where it's not so rude to hit and run!!
Wouldn't ya know it, young master is asking for more food and I have to go again, before he wakes his sister up
Hi Jen, I also make sure Tara has pears as well to make sure no constipation occurs although so far she hasn't had any problems. As for the rolling.... ahhhh she will be on the move very soon.... Tara only rolls one way, to the left, she has started to work out how to get from her tummy to back but not yet mastered it. But I don't think it will take long which means rolling to the left all the time, which means able to move around. I think DH will be baby proofing the house this weekend.
She has even tried rolling over in the cot in her sleep, and has woken herself up grrr. So I have had to resort to using the 'safe sleeper' which we used when we first put her in the cot to stop her rolling. Although on the cooler nights she sleeps in a sleeping bag, which restricts her ability to get her legs over so that helps is some way as well.
Hope you are all doing well, it is so interesting to hear how everyone is developing..
Just dropping in to let you know that baby proofing the house has begun... including the installation of barrier gates. Why, you may ask?? Well, Tara has decided that she is getting the hang of how moving is going to be accomplished so we think in the near future she will be on the move, albeit slowly at first but wanted to be prepared.
Apart from now attempting to roll from her tummy to her back (after she has rolled to her tummy in the first place) and only to the left, means that once she gets the hang of that then rolling will commence in earnest. Plus the new trick, if you are on your tummy and can't roll anywhere why not pull you legs up under you. Freak... once she gets some strength in her arms liftoff will occur of the crawling variety.
Also solids are going really well here, now on 2 solid feeds a day (along with her usual bottles) and any new flavour offered are being taken without drama. Fingers crossed she stays a NON fussy eater.
Hi all hope your all doing well.
Kelly glad to hear solids are going so well. My DS was a great eater until he turned two lol.
How is everyone else going?
DD is currently fighting off a nasty chest infection, it is horrible seeing her so sick. The antibiotics are doing the trick though so hopefully it clears up quickly. We are off to Sydney this weekend, cross your fingers for me that both children behave on the mamoth drive lol.
Erybery I might give you a call while I am in your neck of the woods and we can catch up.
How horrible, Oz I can totally empathise.
Kelly - I love the gate-buying stage...not! We went away for the weekend and stayed in a place with a pool. DS scaled the pool fence. Nuf said. Grrrr!!
DD is going well - was a bit unwell last week and still velcro baby, so I've ordered an amber teething necklace, and one for me. She's crawling, albeit backwards, and with no great speed about it (thank goodness!) and does seem to like her push ups. She's not nearly as pesky as DS was, so I have some reprieve.
Better go and catch up with emails - have a massive inbox after not loggin on since last Thursday night!
Hi Ladies - very quick pop in. Sorry I have being absent for so so so so long. Sounds like everyone is progressing nicely. Things are ok here but Luke hates the computer so it makes it hard to get on whilst he is around and when he's finally asleep DH is hogging it and I am trying to do some housework.
Luke started rolling last week, loves his feet but is not sleeping at all through the night. In fact I think he is getting worse. I may have to try your SOS Jen. We are doing gymbaroo ( I love it too!) and swimming lessons which are fun.
Anyway the little man is due for a feed so I will be off, but hope to get back in here a lot sooner!
XOXO to all of you.
cam just want to point out that sos is not for everyone, or every baby id hate to say its going well for me & another mother has hell with it so borrow it & read first u may not like it. Sorry to hear that, i hope u start to get some sleep soon
Oz, sorry to hear your little one is sick. Poor little thing. Hope your trip to Sydney goes well, enjoy!
Ery- Gymbaroo, a job opportunity, that sounds exciting! What a great environment to work in.
Jen- I hear you about the boobie squeezes, DD has just started that and then smiles so big all the milk spills out the sides of her mouth. Great that the solids have helped Jade's reflux as well, that must be a relief.
Heavenly- Great growing that little Serenity is doing! Thats fantastic. Love kittys name too, I had a budgie called 'bird' when I was a kid lol.
Liz- you ok hon? I hope everything is ok xx
Maya- Way to go T on the backwards crawling! DD just started backward worming today, I dunno if that even makes sense but she wiggles on her belly backwards for about 3 metres- does that count?!?!
Kelly- Tara looks so happy in her highchair like a big girl! Great to hear the solids are going well.
Cam- Sorry to hear Luke isnt much of a sleeper, I tried the SOS with DD and honestly I was one of those ones it just didnt work for, I didnt like it at all but then I didnt try very hard with it either. DD hates the computer too, isnt that funny, its not something you would think would be such a big deal but it must annoy them in some way!
My big story for the day is, today I was able to put Mimey's hair in a pigtail with a proper hair band, have always used clips and tried a band once but it had to be tight and I didnt want to hurt her head but today it was the real thing! A part on the side and a real little pigtail . We are hanging out on starting solids too atm!
awww LD id give anything to be able to put either of my girls hair up!!!! Iz has nothing at all!!! just a fine whispy covering. DD1 has a fair bit of hair now but it wasnt till she was about 18 months that i could start putting clips in it. she's almost 4 and her hair only comes to her shoulders because her ringlets are so tight! it hasnt got enough weight in it yet to fall so she looks a little ronald mcdonaldish!! and she hates having her hair tied up too!!
so so jealous!
We just can't win, huh? T's hair is great for tying up in either a clip or tiny bands, but DS pulls them out as soon as he can! Just cos he doesn't like HIS hair tied up...grrr!
Teething necklace is on backorder (in the colour I wanted), so playing the patient waiting game for it to turn up and see if it makes a diff - hoping mine will give me back some much-needed Zen!
Glad to hear we're mostly going well. How many of you have read Pinky McKay's stuff? I have found it supremely helpful and liberating
I am actually starting to get my Zen back, slowly but surely - just able to take a step back (with DP gone for a few days for work!!) and start discarding a few things that snuck into my parenting toolbox that I most definitely don't want. Mainly for DS, but really wanting to lose the yelling cos DD doesn't need to be surrounded by angst Plus, my voice was husky on the weekend and I was really afraid it was permanent, but it's coming good now, thank goodness!
I went to bed far too late last night so tonight I'll tuck in with some mags and books (all on building, landscape stuff and an Amnesty mag for variety!), to make up for the frenzy of productivity I had.
Hope we all have a good night and lovely weekends
