Skybie...ringlets how gorgeous!!!! My mum had ringlets as a little girl but DD has the same hair I had when I was born, when she was first born it was very dark and stood straight up on end like a cartoon that has been electrocuted! It stayed that way for 9 weeks. DH bathed her for the first time and when he came back it was there in all its glory . She also had 'frosted' tips on the end, needless to say my hairdresser aunty is extremely impressed! She had her 1st haircut last week as it is very knotty atm. Some people find out at their ultrasounds the sex of their baby, we found out 'it' had hair lol!

Maya, DS certainly sounds like he knows what he wants is little sis to have! Hope your amber beads work, they work wonders for us here. DD has been cross cutting and has 3 teeth cut but wont come any further than breaking the gums and sittihg there. But I have found the beads are just fantastic! Brings back those smiles everytime!

    Enjoy your weekend ladies x

I've been thinking of you all in the last 24 hours especially - LD, we must be on the same wavelength!!
Not much time to post - been flat out between DS, DD, packing the house and dealing with colds (and now, today, a burst ear drum from an infection I didn't even know DD had...prolly cos she's wearing her amber necklace )
Be back when I get a clear chance to write more than 3 sentences...

Hey LD, I meant to post in here the other day. We just got back from a big trip away. Both kids were awesome on the 11 hour drive, especially considering they were sick.

We have started DD on some solids, not much just a little bit every few days, she demolished it all today so might do a bit of a cook up this weekend and stock up the freezer. DD is trying very hard to get up on her knees lately, she is super determined.

    How is everyone else?

ETA ouch Maya a burst ear drum? Poor little T, I hope she is better soon I know how horrible it is when they are sick. The amber necklaces are great though aren't they.

    Both asleep, woo hoo!
Heavenly - How sad for you and your family it must have been wonderful for you to have him for so long, and for the kids to have known him. DP lost his granddad a year and a half ago and he was so active, it's still hard to believe he's gone, or how quickly he was felled. I went to a funeral of a family friend the other week and he was a great granddad - boy, was he loved, and absolutely cherished by his grandies and great-grandies! I hope i make it to old age and surrounded by the progeny of my progeny. I hope his was a wonderful life 000! T is straddling 0 already all those 000 she never got to wear!
Oz - No teeth here yet; T is soooo wanting to try food, and I'm such a meanie cos I won't give her any she's nice and round and tough(what that girl's been through with her brother overly-loving her!!) so far and it's all on booby milk...it ain't broke and she can wait at least 6 full months, he he! She'll devour solids, I reckon, not like her brother (not that it did him any harm to wait till about 10 months to properly eat something...or did it???). And yeah, I can't believe the burst ear drum, either No wonder she was so waky last night, and so sleepy today (though I'm not ruling out concussion!!).
T is thinking she can walk already - gets up to a push up position, then downward dog, and creeps her hands towards her feet till she loses balance and comes down on her belly, defeated by the whole learning-to-stand caper...keep trying to tell her crawling and sitting are supposed to come first, so I guess she has to figure it out alone and not listen to my voice of reason. Walking's for th weak, anyway - I'll be impressed the day she pops her pony into canter and over a tree log
LD - yes, love my necklace!! I'm glad I waited for my preferred colour, we rock, now - so much so that DS is offended I didn't order him one (and deigned to wear his shark tooth necklace that T was wearing for about, oh, two hours, before I had to take it off again at his request!). I'm not allowed to, though, cos DP says he'll break it whilst swinging from something or other. Probably true, too.
Got some BabyLegs at Mothers Direct the other day adn they are rocking my world (20% off, too, for subscribers to ABA!), so my cooler weather ECing issues are just about sorted. With all our cardigans, too, my issues with all the bodysuits we had from DS will be old news - singlets and cardis are warm enough when she's in the sling, or even wrapped in the buggy. She's peeing on cue and when she's not sick doing her poos in the morning, mostly - pretty predictable, making it easy to go out and not deal with smeary bums She's also starting to hold on - held on today at the doctor till I got back outside to cue her, big long wee ensued that she'd been saving and hoping I'd remember!
I can't believe she's nearly 6 months old. I keep catching myself imagining DS at the same age and wondering if I was as besotted with him...of COURSE I was, I was pathetic. Soon we'll be in at MiL's and I'll have plenty of time to admire her and spend time with her, instead of hoping she'll sleep so that I can pack just one more box.
Packing - my clothes are just ridiculous! I've got clothes I don't fit into anymore and probably never will, and out of those there are some I'll optimistically keep. I've got clothes that are too big, but the pessimist in me says 'keep, you'll kick yourself if you don't' and then there's the stuff that fits that I never wear but might want to when I want to do gardening, revegetation, house rendering etc (but I HATE looking sloppy, so may just have to dirty up some nicer, but more worn clothes that can't be dressed up anymore...so shallow!!). Getting there, though.
From here on in our babies are going to get into all sorts of hijinx - Cam, Vee, Nina, Skybie, LJ, Jen, and our other AWOLs, please report

I'm still here as well, just finding time to post is getting harder when Tara now wants to stay awake longer during the day.

No toothies here as yet, just one very determined child who wants to sit up, stand up (when supported) and try and generally move about. Although not succeeding at any as yet. Still taking solids, although some days she will have lots and others not too much so I just play it by ear to see how she goes.

We have now banished the dummy as well for sleep times, it used to be the only thing to help her setttle to sleep but she has now decided that her thumbs are much better. I'm one mummy who has no issue with thumb sucking as now at night she can settle herself back to sleep without our help . Still getting a good 12-13 hours of night time sleeps and generally 3 45min-1hours sleeps through the day as well.

Also Tara is all booked in to start swimming lesson at the beginning of next school term, so between swimming, Mothers Group and Playgroup my calander is starting to look pretty full now.

Anyway, I'm better get some breakfast before little miss wakes up for hers. Take care everyone.

    hi everyone!
good to see everyone talking in here, its been so quiet in here!
Maya im so sorry to hear about poor T, poor little thing, hope the packing is going well. it was hard enough moving while i was pregnant i cant imagine doing it with a little one!
LD are u on FB chick? much more active over there!
KT glad the spuds are feeling better.
Kelly, what a clever little chickadee u have!
Hi to everyone else, hope u and ur bubbas are going great guns!

All good here, no teeth yet, im thinking soon though. Iz has been wearing a teething necklace since about 8 weeks, not because she was teething but because that was what age they reccomended u start.
We've started half heartedly on solids, not a huge fan of cereal or mush, but she absolutely goes crazy when i put banana or frozen strawberries in her little food pouch thing!
She's nowhere near sitting up, toyed with me a while ago my getting her knees under her but hasnt done it since.
She's still sleeping well, besides the odd night when she wakes for a quick snuggle and feed. and she's a major thumb sucker! only thing i wish she'd take a dummy for is when she's having a spack attack and cant find her thumbs, would be so much easier to pop a dummy in!

    Hi all!!

Gosh, it's fascinating reading where everyone's at..

Maya- man, all of that sounds full-on!!! Good vibes for ease, joy and glory for the rest of your packing/move comin' your way!

Heavenly- sorry for the loss of your grandad

Kelly- we've been going to swimming since 4 months and she loves it. It's amazing how quickly they learn and shes exhausted afterwards

Looks like I'll have to my a into g and order myself an amber necklace...awesome to hear that they're working so well for al of you. No sign of teeth for us, yet.

Livvy's good...just mastered sitting but she's too wobbly to be left alone, lots of babbling and she's a thmb-sucker too. We're just starting to play around with Baby Led Weaning. She ate enough banana the other day to produce a foul nappy and had some success with some rice cake. Other than that, she's still lovin the boobs enough to necessitate a 2-3am feed every night.

    Have fun Vx

Hi V!!! Great to hear from you hun. How clever is your little chicken sitting up! Gosh everyone is growing up so fast! Grab one of those amber necklaces they are great! That 2-3 am feed has hit here too, DD has never fed through the night until a recent growth spurt!

Oz.....teeth hmmmm , we have 3 cut through the gums at the top but they just will not come any further then white tips through the skin. Also her 2 front bottom ones are just there under a fine membrane. They are giving her hell combined with a wonderful Wonder week this week. Amber beads are helping but she has been very out of sorts with it all. I wonder if I will get her up one morning and she will have a mouth full of teeth

Maya- I am amazed at just how clever T is with her ECing! Thats is just incredible. How do you actually cue her? EC sounds fantastic, I had never heard of anything like it before you started to talk about it. Im being a big meanie on the food front too Maya, poor DD is like Miss T, trying to steal all our food but I keep trying to tell her its not long now!!! Gonna give this BLS a bit of a whirl and see how we go.

Kelly- Wow, how great does Tara sleep!!! SOS must have been great for the 2 of you. She sounds like she is getting very strong and developing so fast. Fantastic news about the dummy....saves a lot of hard work down the track!

Skybie my love.....nah not on facebook yet. Still livin in the past . I think yep I'll join then cant decide. It really shouldnt be such a big deal but I have an extremely unusual name and I dont want certain people (from my past) tracking me down iykwim! That sounds like Im on the run or something equally as sinister . I do need to be on there though, do I have to use my real name? Is that food pouch, one of those things you put all kinds of food in and they can suck on it?

Today the Miss got up on her hands and knees and began to rock back and forth- all so exciting! She cant sit up though so I think she may have to master the balance of that before she can crawl Oh yeah and our very beautiful highchair arrived just in time!

    Hi Ladies

Another quick hello! When it rains it pours in here!

V-Love - Lukey is the same loves the boobs and still wants a feed and also loves his thumb - actually any finger will do!

LD - those teeth sound horrible! Hope they huray up and come through. I think Luke may be having a wonder week too as he has being very sooky the last week. I still haven't tried SOS am giving him to the 6 month mark and then it's time to get tough!

Skybie - I wish Lukey would take the dummy when he spats it as well. Would be nice to have something to shut them up with!

KellyD - we love swimming lessons. The calendar does full up quickly!

Maya - so much to say to you but not enough time to post. So quick hug, hope the packing is going well and the move is as stress free as possible.

Heveanly - sorry about your loss.

Oz - 11 hour drive is amazing!

Will try and catch up again soon - glad everyone is doing well.

    Bye

Hey girls sorry I have been MIA, I have been lurking though just not getting enough time or energy to sit and write!

Im not even going to attempt to catch up on doing persies (sorry does that sound rude???)
Its great reading how all the bubbas are progressing.

Miss Ella and I have been having a tough time lately - we are going to tresillian tomorrow(sleep school) so hoping things may get better after our stay. Also seeing a counsellor as Comm nurse specialist thinks I have PND which I dont agree with but I do know I am highly anxious and stressed and tired ALL the time. DD is up every hour some nights, every 3 hours other nights and occasionally sleeps 8 hours! during the day its very hard to get her to sleep through a sleep cycle so often only has 2 1/2 hour sleeps.
Her feeding is getting worse and worse, I have mastitis for thr second time because she is not draining me as is very fussy and comes off screaming and crying till we both give up and Im in tears! Im thinking she is associating the BB's with pain as she was so used to having pain cause of her severe reflux (which the new meds seem to be helping) but she is in very bad habits.

So not a very positive post from me and quite selfish but just thought I'd let you girls know where Im at.

On the upside we are doing gymberoo and LOVING it - she laughs the whole time we are there especially when I am swinging her upside down!

Not selfish at all Ery....you are doing an awesome job holding up- that all sounds incredibly hard-going. How great are you being able to find the energy to take Ella to gymberoo??? Hopefully, Tresilian will do the trick for you, hun

Oh Ery that's horrible. Good luck with tresilian and hopefully things can get a bit better for you both.

Lukey loves Gymbaroo too! He loves the parachute at the end the most but is also pretty happy upside down.
