on the solids front, Tori is having about 2 tablespoons (thats mixed) of farax with apple added to it and we mix it with formula. She had that for dinner and tomorrow i will start it for lunch too, she would have more if i let her!
She is still not sleeping through though, is up at 3 for a quick top up! And she does that no matter what time she goes down unfortunately. She wants to sleep on her tummy all the time now does anyone elses bub do that?
SHe has been pretty chucky the last few days which is a pain, im not sure if its related to the solids or not. She is actually waking up like an hour or so after her feeds whether it was just the boob or not and chucking.
I had a terrible day with her today at work, she is really clingy today, not happy unless she can see me or herself! I have worked out how to stop her crying though, just put her in front of a mirror and she smiles away no matter how upset she seems to be.
Gotta go, she is calling
-
Cindy - my MCHN said that if they seem to be more chucky than usual it could be from apple because it is quite acidic. How cute about the mirror!
-
Cass - I would love a copy of the flyer if that is ok. Email me at sophieandmick@dodo.com.au
I have just been giving Lucie pumpkin mainly, but thought, why not give her a combo and see how we go! And don't be envious of the movement. It really makes life a whole lot more difficult! Lots of head bumps and i have now learnt to change a nappy with Lucie standing and crawling. Very frustrating though!
Jo - Yeap I think you are right about the little ones. Certainly a lot less to lift! And I couldn't even begin to think about packing for a family of 6
-
Hey Jo buggar the bikini, just a bra would be fine ! ! lol Camping?OOHH no thanks!! Says the wife of a man who lives in the bush!! Re the ttc, yeah for Zac but if it were up to me I'd never stop having children, but i think just one more because that would make 5 it would be kinda like having 2 seperate stages of children iykwim, like teenagers & toddlers it's weird now, but I so love it. My hush hush op will have to wait until we decide what we are doing re kids, I am afraid I wwont be able to have anymore after & that is such a terrible feeling ( after payng 6 grand to be fixed i don't want to loose the choice for the sake of vanity) ahh decisions.
Cass, not sure what you mean about the tooth, Zac's started out kinda wonky, but is perfect now hth :smt043 at the image I have of you just now!! Have a great night out!!
awwww Soph you're describing my days with Zac too, 1 feed is terrific, the next one sux! What are we supposed to do? I just simply do not worry anymore, if he hasn't had enough milk he will most certainly let me know.
YAY for you doing all that cooking! I'll give you 10/10 & a gold star too.
Thanks for letting me know about the washing. I will just chuck his stuff in with ours, after all his is part of the family too!
Grr, Bill has gone fishing yet again, funny though, he never brings any fish home, just reeks of them!!Maybe he is living a double life or something
Ok must go & start dinner, you know I have done nothing at all today, not even sweep the floor, how slack am I? :cryinglaugh:
-
Oh Jo you poor thing. Harry was (is) very similar to Kaleb. He is getting better at social situations now he is older but he could be very difficult when he was younger. I felt exactly the same as you do and I did tend to avoid things like play group and mother's group because of it. I stopped going to mothers group after I had Grace because he was too rough around the babies - not that he didn't like babies, he just didn't understand to be gentle and naturally the mothers were less than impressed so I never went back. Anyway I use time out or the naughty corner (whatever you want to call it) and now that he is older I can give him consequences - like 'if you do that again we will go home'. As for whether to persist in socialising, it does depend on the situation - as I said, I stopped going to mother's group but I thought that best considering there were small babies and the mothers did not like having a rowdy toddler around. If you are starting to dread going then maybe stop for a while, but at the same time Kaleb is not going to learn how to play nicely around other kids unless he is put in social situations. I am sorry I don't really have an answer for you, but don't think it's anything you've done, he really is acting normally and it will pass as he grows and learns how to handle his emotions better. But if play group is starting to stress you out then maybe have a break from it.

Hi!
Melissa - Thats great Bens sleeping so well also!
Cindy - I think if they want to sleep on their tummy its o.k. Louis doesn't budge from were I put him down in the cot! Lazy boy - hehe.
Not sure about the chucking... it could be just a burp she's not bringing up. Louis still burps as soon as I pick him up whether he's had 40min or 2 hours napping! Perhaps try another fruit other than the apple to see if thats the problem as Linda suggested...
It can be so hard when they won't let you walk away. As I've said - Louis was like that so badly and it's only now that he's settled down a lot and seems to be able to start amusing himself. If he's tired though I've got no hope. Hopefully it's just a stage they all go through.
How long are your bubs staying up through the day before going down for a nap? Louis stays up around 2 hours and then he's ready for a sleep. I thought it would start to get longer by now...mind you I enjoy the break after 2 hours - hehe.
-
Those little people things are so cool, i couldn't resist buying Lily a car with a person and a baby with it. She loves it. good thing i had a david jones gift card for it, so didnt have to pay for it!
I know it's a long ay off but i was thinking of buying Lily a little trike bike for xmas. Would that be suitable for a 2yo?
Jo - I have no clue on how you could stop Kaleb from being so aggressive. I hope when the new bubby comes he isn't like that. Lily hasn't really been around other kids(don't know any) so i hope she won't be like that 8-[

Hi ya girls,
Storm, I do James stuff separate, and we have enough for 2 small loads a week (front loader so only uses as much water as it needs). He often goes through 2 changes of clothes a day and several bibs, plus spew cloths and 2 sets of sheets (1 at home, 1 at childcare). He drools like no ones business - reckon I could solve sydney's water crisis if I could figure out how to harvest it....and I use Amolin cos he had trouble with excema, so I eliminated washing powder as an irritant. I cuold probably stop now tho cos his skin is so much better now. LOL at your blonde moments - thanks for th thought though!
Jo, very envious of camping, we did so much when we lived in Darwin, but now in sydney we hardly ever get away. But for 6, now thats a challange! James hasnt bitten me...yet....I live in fear! But last week at mother's group one of the other little boys bit his mum while feeding, and she first tapped him on the cheek with a finger (just to get his attention)and said "no, please dont bite mummy" twice, then took him off the third time. She said this week its worked and he's stopped biting.
Cass, sounds like you've had a couple of crappy nights, poor thing. Glad James isnt the only sweat-box, and he gets so smelly too! Last night we put him down without wrapping, but he woke up about 330 and after an hour I wrapped him - still had to pat him back to sleep tho. Tonight it took 20 mins to get him down, wrapped just bottom half. We will persist a while and see how we go. Sorry about the jinx 8-[
On Kaitlyn's tooth, I think I know what you mean (maybe) - James top two teeth are visible as an outline on the outside of his gum, not the narrow part IYKWIM. They havent come down tho, been like that for 6 weeks or more.
Oh, and yes pls me too on the routine/moods flyer. Have a great night out, you big shelia's blouse you! :cryinglaugh: You forgot the "lions and tigers and bears, oh my!" when you go camping :cryinglaugh:
Soph, it really makes my heart light to hear you so relaxed today, sweetie. Really. Sounds like you need to make yoga a permanent appointment in your diary. Lucie is such a champ, pulling herself up. On the lookout for one of the rolling toys you mentioned, but yet to find one.
Have you "baby-proofed" yet Soph? Has anyone? One of the mums in my group was talking about it yesterday, about the best plug covers and stiar gates and even whether to take all the little orange nappy disposal bags out of the box and tie knots in them. What the...? Her boy is only just sitting up! Man, I havent thought of any of that yet! In german they have a (tongue in cheek) phrase "rabenmutter" which means "crow mother" cos the crow just boots the chicks out of the nest to fend for themselves, is "uncaring". Need to get my act together!
I had a shocker last night - awake between 1230 and 5am; James was alseep (unitl 330 anyway) but I just had work and stuff going around and around. Including the stupid songs from one of James' toys grrr :fuming: I finally got an hour or so before and then after James early feed, but am wrecked today. Visitors this weekend, so tomorrow will be shopping and cooking and cleaning.
Good night everyone, sleep tight!
-
i have found chantelle trying to sleep on her tummy aswell.i have been repositioning her though,is it safe at this age for them to sleep on there tummy now do you think,i spose if she is able to get out of that possy if she wants to it wont harm her i guess,
as for solids chantelle is still only breast feeding and has not really been having much of her night time formula bottle either.i fed both my boys from 4 months but she just doesnt seem to be really interested at this stage,i will check next visit with the nurse to see what she reckons but she is now 5 months and i spose i will be able to tell soon enough if she needs it as she approaches 6 months.
chantelle is still having very bad nights, she has been waking twice for a feed and then grizzles from about 4 am till 7 so ends up in bed with me and latches on to my breast every half hour or so,not sure what is going on there as she was fantastic since birth and only ever woke for one feed.not sure what to do about this as i am not keen on the control crying thing.i would never leave her just to cry herself back to sleep.it would break my heart, she still has a cold,so until that clears up i will assume that is what is causing her to be so unsettled durinb the night, your thoughts on this would be appreciated.
i just bought some tickets to the boxing semi final for my oldest son and dh for the commonwealth games, very exciting....

Hi Ladies
Well we went to our MHN check up and...... are you ready for it.
Jordan weighs 10.9 kilo  he is 66.5 cm long.
He is now off the charts with everything, length, weight and head circum. My little man isnt so little. The MHN was a new one and she couldnt beleive he was exclusily breastfed and not on solids yet.
I think I should sell my breastmilk off to the people in the starving countries
Krisvee - Jordan is very much like Louis. He is awake for 2 hrs max and then ready for a sleep and he might sleep for 2-3 hrs. He has been asleep now for 2.5 so I might wake him before I go to bed for a feed.
Cindy - dont worry about Tori not sleeping thru, I am still getting up for an early morning feed. somewhere between 4.30 and 6.00, it always varies.
I am glad to hear that all the bubs are enjoying their solids.... I have yet to start Jordan but it will be interesting to see how he goes. I think he is still too little, he isnt showing any interest at this stage.
Did anyone read womens day? there was a lady in there who was breastfeeding her 9 yr old  I nearly fell off my chair, that is a little weird I think.
When do you think you will give up breastfeeding? I am thinking around the 12 mnth mark.
Hope you have a nice night ladies and a good sleep.
-
Hi!
Nikki - Maybe you could try Chantelle on some rice cereal and see if that helps her sleep through the night??? Maybe she's filling up on milk but its not keeping her full iykwim?? Just a thought....
Tracey - Wow what a big boy you have there! hehe. I wouldn't stress about solids yet either!!
Hmmm 9 yo is pretty full on - I would think the child wouldn't be interested anymore...
I'm hoping to go to 12 months unless I'm p/g with no.2 by then and then I'll wait and see how I feel.
I've been feeling a little crampy for the last few days like I might get af but nothing has turned up. I think it's time for another hpt just in case! hehe.
-
Tracey - I think I will wean around the 12 month mark too. Wow on the weight gain!! Thats almost double Emma & shes nearly a month older!! (she weighs 5.8kg) He must be getting the good stuff!
Nikki, I would say it is the cold keeping her up, it must be awful for her. I hope it clears up soon!
-
Oh - Kristie - I keep remembering this when I'm away from the computer! You know how Louis stopped sleeping through for a bit? My MCHN said that she has noticed that in some babies rice cereal cause them to wake more. I dont know the reason & it doesnt seem to affect Emma, but I thought of you straight away. Just a thought?
-
Maybe - although he'd been having rice cereal and sleeping through before he stopped. He is still having it but he's always just had it for breakfast and not for any other meal....worth considering though, thanks.
He's been quite unsettled tonight already so I'm not expecting another big sleep....on that note I think I'll get ready for bed...I spend way to much time on this computer!
-
LOL Georgie at one of Jame's songs going round and round. I have been know to rock a bag of potatoes in a shopping centre..funny what sleep deprivation can do 8-[ I havent started babyproofing yet at all. The girls are a bit past being interested in power points and such lol...so will have to do it soon. Have a lovely weekend with your visitors wont you.
I know exactly what you mean Storm with your kiddies in two different stages. Ive actually questioned it myself now with the girls being clumped in their ages together and Sammy on his own...we will see :-k LOL at Bill leading a double life.....nenenene(eerie music)..lol
Well we are off in the morning for the whole weekend...so will chat to you lovely ladies when we get back..have a wonderful weekend...Lucie and Zac please be good bubbies while Im away and eat lots please. ;)
Jo
-
Jo - Have a brilliant and relaxing weekend, hope the weather is good and the mozzies leave you alone. And Sammy - sleep well for mummy! Forgot to say that I love your cot idea, well done!
Storm - Yeah I have tried not to worry as much. If she has a bad feed, I sit her on the ground and just say 'Well if you won't eat then too bad!'. Still kinda gets to me though. Maybe Bill just goes to the pub and one the way home goes to the fish shop, buys afish and rubs it all over his clothes hehehehehhehe. Nah he's probably just as hopeless as we are. We love going fishing but never catch a thing. I caught a starfish about 5 years ago and DH and I are still arguing whether that can be classed as a 'fish' or not! And yeap I bet you do have another munchkin, and then Dolly P eat your heart out! Go girl, that's fantastic!
Thanks Georgie. Trying not to fret so much! My sister got the toy in Melbourne. I'll ask what the shop is called. I think she said it was one of those educational kids places. And re baby proofing - yeap we are. We will probably move in a month or so though so we haven't got gates yet. I do have some power point plugs, and Lucie can only go into the lounge and kitchen with all the doors closed. We have done things like put chairs, chests etc in front of electrical cords, vacated the lounge of anything baby unfriendly and stuff. But I tell you what, babies have a knack of finding every bit of dirt/rubbish on the ground and putting it in their mouths. Unbelievable! Hope the sleep gets better for you. Soooo annoying when bubs is asleep and you can't.
Cass - Not sure about the tooth thing either. When Lucie's were coming through you could see this kinda grey/clear line and teh top of the gums. I am sure it will be through in no time!
Well Lucie seemed to like my cooking last night - that is until we had power spew, and just after a full bottle  And not an overly wet nappy this am but what can I do? So I think I might dilute the vegie mix 50/50 with rice cereal until she gets used to it. Maybe it was a bit strong.
Off to Brisvegas today. The contract on our house goes unconditional today so [-o< all goes well! We are packing the rest of our stuff up to bring back. I have to drive Lucie by myself - 2.5 hours! DH is driving the ute. Fingers crossed she doesn't scream the entire time.
-
fingers crossed for your contract going through Soph, and hope the drive goes OK. James has taken to yelling when we go anywhere at all, so Im getting really good at "the wheels on the bus..." and "old macdonald", although we had to change to Old macdonald had a zoo and Im not sure that cows and sheep are allowed on the bus these days! The things we do...I must look like a mad woman to people looking into the car, singing away at the top of my (very bad) voice!
LOL at Bill in the fish shop hugging a tuna....
The rocking thing is kinda embarassing hey Jo....I push the trolley back and forth too!
Travel safely everyone who's on the road, and have fun!
-
Tegan - We got harry a little trike bike for his first birthday, at first he didn't know how to ride but over time he learnt and by the time he was 2 he loved the thing. Then it got broken  . Grace has a little ride on car that she loves too, so I think that sounds like a great present.
I am tempted to go out and get Grace a little people set she would probably love it!
Bon
-
I think the trike is also a good idea Tegan, Jess got a push along 4 wheeler for this xmas cos at 15 mths she was too little for most trikes. But this next xmas she would be just over 2 and woulsd probably be able to ride it.
Not doing much, trying to get the 2 boys off the Xbox cos that's al they have done all day. It is nice outside and lunch time too so I want them out.
have a good one

Dylan has cut his first tooth! At 4 months and 3 weeks! It's only a white speck at the moment, but a friend said she reckons it will be fully through within a week. He has been waking more through the night in the last week, and I was wondering why, so maybe that's it!
Has anyone else's bubs got teeth yet? I can't remember reading any, but my memory is appalling, so who knows!
I've just been offered a great job starting next term for 2 days a week which I'm really excited about. It will fit quite well with dh's roster, and on the odd occaision it clashes my inlaws can babysit. \:D/
Kristie - did Loius sleep better last night?
Bonnie- I sympathise with the slobber... Luckily my dog has learnt which are his toys and which are Dylans... the biggest problem we have is Jo tries to lick Dylan's hand, and of course the hand then goes straight into his mouth. Still, they say it's better to expose babies to germs early on. LOL
Tracey - I haven't had Dylan weighed for over 3 weeks, but I reckon he's not far behind Jordan. I might try to get him weighed this afternoon...
-
OMG Donella - a tooth! wow! I think that's the first October bub to get one! How exciting! I think 6months+ is average, but of course that varies heaps. Congrats on the work next term - 2 days sounds perfect!
-
Girls would you believe I was just about to start a post and dear little Kaitlyn has decided to wake...I will try and log on later although tonight is take out and DVD night so I will see how I go !.
Hope you are all having a nice day ...hope your trip went well today Soph.
Cass
-
Rofl Fletch!. I've always wondered what I would do in that situation.
Ahhh cass if I had a $ for every time that has happened to me.....
Hope you all have a great weekend.
Be safe those on the road, And * shudders* camping.
-
Krisvee - Will is up anywhere from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours. His 'up' time gets less as the day goes on. ATM he is having 2 half hour sleeps in the morning and one 2 hr in the after noon, then sometimes another half hour b4 dinner. I am trying to join the first two sleeps into one big sleep and then we will be in the 6 month routine of two sleeps per day.
Nikki - My guess would be the cold, Will did the same thing when he was sick. Once that goes away hopefully things will improve, although Will then got used to sleeping with me and playing during the early hours of the morning, so then i had to get him out of that habit...
Tracey - 9 yr old is pretty scary  I gave up feeding Molly at 8-9months and Will is already ff, I guess you go as long as you want to :)
Donella - Wow on the tooth, Will has been showing signs but none through yet. Molly didnt get any through until 7 months, and had no problems with them either which was nice. Congrats on the job, are you looking forward to going back to work? I havent been working for over 3 years now, I actually didnt realise it had been so long until I just wrote that  . I am looking into going back to uni in the next 2 years so i can start work when Will starts school in a new field.
Kell
-
Priceless indeed Fletch! I wasnt really sure it was you (well it was Zane' gorgeous brown eyes I recognised), and thought you were going to say something cos I was staring so hard at him! Then I thought "what the hey" and could just do the ditzy thing if I was wrong....glad I did! I dont usually stalk people in Big W 8-[ but it was really nice to meet you guys too.
Mmmmm, take out....I wish....damn DH's diet! Enjoy Storm. We are going out for lunch with our visitor on Sunday to a super yummy place in the mountains, so Im really looking forward to that.
James and I had a nice day cruising the shops and then pottering in the backyard this afternoon. Cleaning tonight though bummer :(
Storm how are you going with wrapping Kaitlyn? James slept last night without wrap, woke up just once. Its taking longer to get him to sleep initally, but I think we're making progress.
:smt039 to everyone else and have a nice weekend.
-
kell how did you break that habit with will????????????
that is what i did,i went to uni when my youngest was 2 and am now qualified as a nurse and was in a new position when he stared school, even now although i am not working it is wonderful to know that i can get back into the work force without any problems and there is always a demand for nurses.
nikki
-
Thats hillarious that you girls bumped into each other in Big W !.
Well we have poilshed of our pizza and garlic bread..mmmm so yummy!. And we forgot to get DVD and are to lazy to go get one hehe..I am happy as I get to ebay and do general email stuff.
Soph how did you go with the house today? Contract all finalised?. Are you guys doing to buy another house or just relax for a little while?.
Georgie I think I have to persist with trying to get Kaitlyn out of the wrap as well . Today for her afternoon nap she slept with one arm out but she was more unsettled then normal but that is ok . So I think I will try and get her used to one arm out during the day ..then move onto the evening , then move on to two arms out. I guess there are two approaches I could try the quick one but to be honest I am to lazy I think hehehe. So I will take the slow but hopefully easier way hehehe. I also just hate her being upset and because she has been wrapped since birth she gets really upset if she is not wrapped ..she just loves the material being close to her .
Well I am feeling a little worse for wear after my girlie night out last night. It was not even big ...just a two glasses of Champagne and in bed at 1130pm but at 330am when Kaitlyn decided it was time to feed I was feeling not very happy about getting up  Anyway we made it through the day with a couple of coffees !. Funny how different it is now ...makes me feel so old...geeze talk about 29 going on 60!.
Made a great fruit combo today girls..highly recommend Red apple and nectarine..mmmmmmm even I thought it was yummy hehe.
Sorry girls I know I have missed lots but I am tired so I will try and catch up on more tomorrow .
Hope you are all relaxing ..lots of  vibes!
Cass

We just watched all the video footage we have of Emma since she was born - OMG!! How awesome!! It really makes me realise how much she has grown up & changed! Wow!
-
Hi Girls
Jo-gee - hope camping goes well and lol at Sammy being a vampire, Maria just gums me, very painful at the end of a feed.
Soph - grr at the power spew, Maria didn't like her pureed vegies last night but at pumpkin soup today which was the same vegies cooked in chicken stock???
Storm - I wash all the clothes together except for whites which I wash with DH's white shirts.
Cassie - glad you enjoyed your night out, did you get a rest this afternoon?
Georgiek - hope you sleep better tonight.
Maria had her 6-8 month checkup today, she is 6.3kg and 60.5cm long, I can't believe she has grown soo much from the 2kg and 44cm when she was born.
I went clothes shopping for myself for the christening next weekend (hate clothes shopping for myself), I wanted a dress or skirt/top that I could breastfeed in and didn't have to adjust, and would you believe it the first store I go into they have exactly what I want a dress that looks great, has a button up front and is exactly the right length (I'm a shorty) and was under $120. I was expecting shopping to be a great big hassle (Maria hates the shops) but it was great and I had time for a milkshake before her checkup
-
No teeth here! She has been chewing madly on everything lately though so I doubt it will be long now!
Linda- i wish we had a video camera, we keep looking at them but cant decide which to get. WHat is your one like?
Oh, I have a new ticker, had to keep up with you all with pics of your little ones on them!
-
Cindy - the pic in your ticker is just adorable!!! We have a canon camera, not top of the line, it was about $800 & worth every cent. There are more expensive ones, but they do things like still photos & we dont need that. It's so worth having one! Even to remember what her cry sounded like brought back so many memories!
-
Cindy - we just got a refurbished video camera on Grays online auctions. It was $350 and worth $900. \:D/ And it comes with a warranty...
-
Woo Hoo I did it guys, Zac has a website \:D/ I so proud of me!!!!
I will add some more photos when I get some time.
Welcome to August Babies B456!!!!
-
We have our first toof as well \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ Sooooo exciting!. Explains Kaitlyns late night waking and why she has been so clingy ..so exciting.
Louise unfortunately there was no rest for me yesterday afternoon or today as DH did not get home from work until 6pm. Go Maria on her growing ! She is changing so much.
Storm I cant wait to check out your site. I really must get off my bum and doing for my missy moo.
Fletch .....I am not on Ebay..I dont know what you are talking about  I have been off for at least 5mins hehehe ...yep still obsessed with JJ. They actually are on sale at babies galore so I am thinking of splurging on a new one . Congrads on the new toof I felt like such a proud mummy buying teething gel tonight  I hear you on the wrap ....I have fully wrapped Kaitlyn tonight , but she seems to be sleeping during the day with one cute little arm out and waving about. Hope you are enjoying your baked dinner.
Welcome Broke and Charlotte! i have a little chubba bubba to ......I am having a check up on monday so I will give you all a weight update!. Sending you :pdust: :bdust:
Fletch/Bec is the catch up on the 27th?
ahhhhhh so proud with our wittle toof......we will blink and they will be at school!....Our babies are growing up hehehe
I got Kaitlyn some arrowroot biccies from the shops tonight ..I know how some of the bubbas love them so I thought I would let Kaitlyn have a try.
ohhh I know it seems silly girls but I am bursting at the seams with pride over a toof...IS THAT NORMAL  Ok ..wont go on about how chuffed I am anymore hehe.
Soph how did your trip go? You inspired me the other day so I have a truck load of veges and fruit to cook up tonight and tomorrow.
Well better run and jump on Ebay... hehe just kidding we are going to watch some Bgrade DVD.
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend!
-
Donella - Benjamin has got the teeth sitting in the gums, we can see them. None have cut through yet.
Tracey - Wow! It's amazing how quickly they grow. Don't stop with the good stuff!
Nikki - Benjamin prefers to sleep on his stomach. At first we used to turn him over and re-position him, but after a while we gave up, and he breathes fine with his head on the side. It's when they sleep face down that's the worry. Benjamin automatically turns his head to the side now.
I'm sorry if I've missed anyone.
Melissa
-
Snuck in for a quick peek after dinner....
YAY Zane and Kaitlyn on toofies!! \:D/ \:D/ How exciting! Nup, not abnormal to be so proud of the toof Cass, I was so chuffed to, I was sticking my finger in James' mounth all day!
Poor Fletch, shedding a tear, its all happening too fast! Fingers crossed for zane getting his crawling going. Any day now, Im sure....more tears!!
And welcome Brooke and Charlotte!
Better get back to my dinner guest, just needed a quick break! How rude am I! 8-[

nikki
-
Welcome Brooke and Charlotte! Our DD's share the same birthday and the same formula! Lucie is a light weight though - weighs in at about 7kg, not too much into solids and especially not milk, but I'm slowly learning to live with that! Looking forward to getting to know you too. And wow that Charlotte says mumma and dadda, Lucie has never been much of a speaker really, just noises. And don't worry about crawling, there's heaps of time for that! We have #2 due in September. Good luck with the TTC!
Way to go Zane and Kaitlyn on the teeth!
Cass - Normal to be proud I reckon. We saw heaps of people on the weekend we haven't seen for months and I was like 'Have you seen her teeth?' etc etc. Sad proud mummy! How did you go with the biccies?
Georgie - Wow on meeting Fletch!!!! That is amazing. Must be so nice to put faces to the names in person. One day girls I reckon we should all actually meet somewhere if that is ever possible.
Fletch - That boy is going to be zooming along in no time! How was the baked dinner? Yummo!
Storm - Gotta check out this website later this arvo when I finally get unpacked. I can't wait!
Louise - Maria sounds like she is coming along in leaps and bounds, that's fantastic. Your dress sounds great too - I bet you will look stunning!
Ok sorry guys, I have heaps to unpack and clean up. My soon-to-be sister in law is coming tomorrow for the week. Will be nice because DH is away on camp Monday and Tuesday nights so I won't be lonely. And we get to plan her wedding. Yay! The trip to Brisbane was ok. House is now unconditional so it's definately sold. I don't think I'll make it back up before settlement, so I was a bit teary (how unusual for me  ). Lucie screamed for the last 100km on the way up, but last night I drove back after her last feed and she slept basically the entire way. A friend babysat on Friday night though (even though DH was home anyway - he had friends over). Every time Lucie stirred, she'd go and pick her up and bring her into the lounge room! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr, no wonder she wouldn't sleep!
Ok must go, so much to do. Will catch up more later.

Our video camera is also JVC, we bought it when molly was born, i love being able to watch old dvd's of molly and seeing how like her Will is :)
Nikki - It took a couple of days to break Will's habit of sleeping with us etc. We would put him in bed when he was tired and then stand there with him while he drifted off and then leave the room. If he cried we would settle him using pats on the belly, talking, cuddling etc then when he was settled again we would put him straight down and move away from the cot. we would keep doing this until he got the message that he had to sleep in his own bed. It took a couple of days but was worth it. How do you enjoy being a nurse, I always thought it would be one of the most under-appreciated jobs!
How do you all feel about the bf debate going on ATM? Being a forum full of mothers i dont imagine there would be anyone opposed to bf in public :) Can you believe these people who find it offensive?!?! :fuming: I mean if a guy walked down the street with no pants on I could understand some people being offended (even then I would probably laugh :)) but a bf mother is feeding her child! Millions of people eat in public, and even if they are messy, piggy eaters nobody complains about being offended. There is such a movement towards rights for children, respect for children yet these people want our babies to be fed in dingy public toilets, what about their needs and rights? Also it's not like you can see anything while a baby is feeding anyway, its not like there will be breasts flapping all over the place  In actual fact this is what breasts are FOR, it is secondary that they are a sexual organ and that is something society has perpetuated anyway...
So what do you all think, sorry for the long post....

ditto to all you said Kell - it just shouldnt be a big issue. Have we gone so far from nature that feeding a baby is offensive? FFS - it's been going on as long as we have been here!
