Mo, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.

Amber - Margate is near Redcliffe.
Claire - Alma Park Zoo is up that way. If you're going to Australia Zoo you probably don't need to go to another zoo. You can do trips down to the Gold Coast where all the theme parks are or into the City to the galleries, museum, and Southbank. Can do a trip on the river (or cheaper catch a ferry). I'll have a think about more activities.
