Ange/Trish - what model maclaren do you guys have? Think the day tripper is the most basic model but to be honest, can't justify spending $200+ on any of the other models considering the amount it will be used and how much we've already spent on prams, bassinet attachments etc etc. It looks like it will do what I need and it does recline so if he wanted to sleep he could, alhtought he hardly ever sleeps in the pram, we have the ergo for that

    Nic - happy bday!!

Kim - good to hear from you, glad you and the girls are doing so well.

Ange - DH taught L to high five too, that was one of his first tricks!

Happy Birthday Nic .... just think when the kids get old enough how spoilt we will all get at birthday tiems! Mia is just starting to get to the age where she comes and asks if you want a kiss, and like to do things for you! So it does happen soon than you think, considering she is only 2 and a half.

Tay has been up on all fours rocking for the past couple of weeks, so I dont think crawling is 2 far away for us either. Mia commando crawled from 7 months and crawled properly at 10, so Tay is on par with her really. Funny how they are doing things on the same timeline! I love watching their similarities, I am especially loving their playing together and Mia's ability to make Tay laugh her little heart out.

Hi Kaz i meant to say welcome in my last post sorry.
I also have a 2yr old, he is 2 and a quarter and starting to come out with more and more words all the time! the boys are 18m apart and yes its been a challenge i think it goes in waves. the begining was hard getting everyone used to it, then we seemed to get into a pattern and it become easier, then when bub is on the move and the older is mucking up it gets more challenging again! but i love seeing the two boys interact and look forward to watching them play en more so when Ty is walking! i THINK i want a 3rd but have a few yrs up my sleeve so to speak, in my idealistic world id like to maybe have number 3 maybe the year Nixon goes to school or the following yr when Ty starts. I will then have some one on one time with bub which unfortunatley Tyron very rarely gets.

Welcome to our little group Kaz!
Speaking of next babies, DH and I were talking about it last night and we were thinking about trying for number 2 middle of next year. I would rather sooner rather than later, being 31 already, butDH is only turning 26 in December so he thinks he has plenty of time up his sleeve. We did originally decide that we would TALK about it end of next year but something last night brought up the conversation and we made the decision we did.
Crawling- We are not any closer at all to crawling. Although she is clapping now and doing the high five thing. She claps and waits for you to clap and cheer for her and if you don't she gives you the FILTHIEST look! Its funny!
Now I can't remember who it was but someone said that had one of those laugh and learn play house thingys from Fisher Price. I WANT ONE!!! I cannot find one anywhere!! Caitlyn has one at daycare and she loves it!!
Saffi- That's great about the 4 days in daycare! Nice to be organised in that respect and know whats going on. I know what you mean about the predictability! That was one thing that i disliked about where I am working now. They expect that if they ring me at 8 in the morning to change my hours that it wont be a problem. I recently asked them to give me more notice if they want me to change my hours as it throws Caitlyn's routine out.
Strollers My in laws bought a stroller for us....I think it was a cheap KMart job cause its not the best. It does alright and Caitlyn falls asleep in it but we dont use it vey often. I did get her one of those convertible stroller things....I dont know how to describe it. She can sit in it like a bike and there is a handle coming out the back that I can push and then when she is older it changes position and then it turns into a trike for her to ride when she is older again. I havent used it yet....had LOTS of stuff to bring back from Townsville so some things got left behind until DH goes back again at the end of the month.
Caitlyn is still pretty much sleeping through the night from 7 until 630. However last night/this monring she woke at 430 and I bought her back to bed with us. DH has the day off today so he held her while I got some sleep.....we got a new puppy yesterday and she whined and whined all night and kept me up - of course DH slept right through!
Anyway - works calls. The girls are all looking at me all funny cause they know I dont have a lot to do. We have been gossiping pretty much all morning. Have a great day ladies.

    Hi everyone

I couldn't get on the site yesterday to come back and say hello properly.

I had an awful night with Max last night. His top gums are so white and bulgy, I wonder when they will pop. He is also tounging his gums again and did another projectile spew last night after some lumpy food went in! So I am TIRED!

Hi Kim...nice to see you in for an update! I often wonder how you are going, coz I also see you busy with your sale on too. Come back and let us know if you get your prince or not!

Strollers - I got a 'childcare' one in the target sales for $99...it's fab. It reclines, comes with rain cover and sun shade thingy, and is very manouverable....I haven't compared it to a Mclaran though, but it does the trick for me. Going to take it to the UK with me.

Max has made a BIT of progress moving....when I attempt to put him on his tum, he goes onto his knees straight away, and can push himself up into sitting.....I guess that is good! Now I just have to get him to go from tummy to knees! At least he's not being as stiff!

    Nic - Happy Birthday

Well, sorry I'll keep this short, don't want to rot away on the computer while Max is actually asleep in his bed and not asleep on me!

    Take care all

We brought a Valco stroller which come with a sunshade and a weather cover and it has been fantastic. SO light, easy to manouver and we have also taken it on holidays with us. We have just brought a twin stroller, because we were having issues with our 2 year old never wanting to walk (I think its because Tay gets the pram and MIa thinks she is missing out), so after much talking about it we brought one. Its a Valco again, it was the lightest, easiest for me to fold and easiest to push. We spent 2 hours in Baby Bunting putting the kids in and out of prams and pushing them around. It cost us $239 and they gave us 5% discount. I hav been out and about with the girls twice this week with the pram, as well as going for a couple of walks and its the best thing we have brought for a long time. So now I have our Steelcraft, Valco and Twin Stroller. I need to get rid of the Steelcraft, but its such a beautiful pram I am putting it off. But the single Valco stroller has everything the bigger pram has, and I think its even better. So that one gets my thumbs up! Trying to remember how much we paid for it, I think about $179 from memory!

Thanks Mo! Tyron just gave me a wonderful bday present and decided he can crawl lol! he's going great like he's been doing it all along.
on a not so great note i went to my car today to get the pram out and both the drivers door and passengers doors were open. when i looked inside the glove box and the middle console were wide open........nothing was in thecar to be stolen thankfully but its a bit eery. Any other day i would have had the GPS in the car but i went out in a friends car yest and took it with me so it was in the house. Im going to report it, obvioously someone is around the area, but i must have forgotten to lock the car so better be more careful in the future....
Julie- thats great max can move to sit he must have stong tummy muscles!

Yay for Tyron! What a smart boy to do that for you. They always come through dont they.

Bugger about the car! Just before we left Adelaide we come home from a day out, to find that someone had smashed our kitchen window and gone through our things! They stole our video camera which I was devastated about, as it had a lot of Tay's firsts on there and Dad's 60th. We had the kids sleep with us for the rest of the week, I am so glad we moved the same week as we were all pretty freaked out that someone had been in our house and through our things. INcluding our bedroom, my jewellery and bedroom drawers. You wouldnt believe this though, the police did a raid on a house and the guy had heaps of stolen good there, one being our video camera! An 11 year old aboriginal boy had taken it that lived close by and was selling stuff for bags of pot. Its sad.

    I meant to share...........

We had a poo'n'poke incident yesterday. Having a little nappy off time after dinner before bath, i was cooking our dinner and noticed that i'm-up-to-no-good silence. Off i go to investigate and find her investigating her own poo......

At least she didn't eat it!

Ange - That is so gross

Amber - Poor Myles! It's funny how things all happen at once. K had a shocking rash all over his body. It was so bad that I had to get a cortisone cream from the chemist. I only put it on once to take the edge off (which it did) and after that I put QV bath oil in his bath each night and I lathered him with moisturiser. I also made sure he was wasn't overdressed when at home because overheating makes the rash worse. His rash has completely gone now thank goodness! I hope Myle's rash clears up soon.

Nic - How scary about your car! I'm glad they didn't take anything. My old car got broken into once via a smashed window. They only took loose change, for some reason they left the hundreds of dollars worth of Myer vouchers (from our wedding) behind.

Willow - I have the Maclaren Quest, but I'm sure the other models are just as good.

Julia - I hope you have a better night tonight!

Just wanted to give a Woohoo! K actually commando'd forward tonight! (I know, I know, your bubs are way ahead of K and this is pretty lame LOL) He was on his tummy and he spied a balloon just out of reach. I HATE balloons, I have a fear of them popping so I never let him play with them. So of course he HAD to get that balloon . He kicked and pulled and did the most awkward commando crawl I've ever seen, but HE DID IT! He obviously just needed something to motivate him to move. Now I just have to find some other "untouchable" items to entice him, I don't want him playing with balloons!!

    hi everyone

Happy Birthday Nic! Hope you've had a great day.. Bummer about the car break-in

    Welcome Kazaraz!

Ange - gross on the poo'n'poke incident!

Trish - woo hoo for Kieran! When Tahlia first started, the thing she would be enticed by was the tv remote control! Now if she sees it on the couch she tries to stand up to get it! What is it with babies and remote controls???

Not much new with us, Tahlia still has no teeth - is she the only toothless one in here now? Had mothers group today, its getting quite hectic at mg now, with all the kiddies moving around, but it is fun seeing them all interact with each other!

Hope everyone has a good night!
