    Afternoon!

Just got back from a big birthday and Christmas present shopping spree at Mattel. A friend forwarded a discount flier and I got 30% off everything! Any Melbourne girls interested, the offer is until this Saturday at the Mattel Playhouse in Collingwood. There is 30% off all stock (Fisher Price, Mattel, etc.), including off already reduced items. PM me with your email address if you want me to forward you the flier .

Saffi - L definitely sounds like a clever little man . K is copying off us too, he learned to wave when I showed him once the other day and to high-five. Now I have to think of more tricks! I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't like Mamma Mia! Pierce Brosnan should not quit his day job :P.

Kazaraz - Sorry you had such a blurrgh night . It's horrible when they both keep you up. My eldest sometimes wakes us all up because he's lost a sock . I hope you are taking it nice and easy today.

Celtic - I'm glad to hear Ryan is doing well . How annoying that he keeps getting ear infections. Ryan sounds like he is developing nicely! K is still commando crawling, he's so slow to do things. Joel was doing what Ryan is doing at the same age. I thought he wouldn't be far off walking, but he didn't start walking properly until 14 months. Good luck TTC next month, how exciting!!

Dragonbub - I was going to suggest getting Caden looked at too next time you see your GP or MCHN regarding his snoring. None of my boys have been snorers.

Pish - I'm glad Tiera is happier today. How cute playing with her little friend! Yuck at those needles

Nic - Wow, it sounds like a busy time of year for you! Those invites sound great! Poor Nixon, what a horrible procedure he has to have .

K is meant to be napping atm, but I think I stretched him out too long and now he is sooking in his cot. Think I'll have to get him up and start again...

Hi everyone, long time no speakie!

Fell off the radar there for a month after we moved as we had no internet connection. I ended up sacking our provider and getting a new one.

Well we still haven't fully settled in, we only managed to get the house mostly decorated so still have the rest to do and subsequently there's same boxes everywhere but it's beginning to come together!

The children are doing great - Harry is 1 next month and is walkIng holding onto my hand, blowing kisses, waving and shaking his head for no. Very cute! Emily is just such a big girl! Has taken to wearing only fairy/princess costumes and refuses to go out without a fairy wand or tutu on!

    Hope you're all well x

Nic - that would be really scary to have N booked in immediately for surgery like that. But at least it's being attended to now while he is still young.
Dragon - L doesn't snore as such but is a heavy breather. He has been sick more or less since he started at daycare so I guess it is to be expected.
Celtic - I'm too old to have the guardisil shot. Did have a pap smear test today tho (sorry TMI). I remember you saying very early on that your DP wasn't very keen on spending time with Ryan. I think its hard for men in the early days. But as they grow and become more independent that's where Dads really come into their own. You'll probably find with the next baby that he's more confident around newborns as he's done it all before.
Claire - glad to hear that you're settling in. I would die if I didn't have the Net for even a day. How cute, fairy outfits. I suppose the boys will want to wear a super hero outfit or something soon enough. As long as its not a fairy outfit (not that there's anything wrong with that LOL).
Trish - I wish I was in Melbourne so I could go to the Mattel shop! Our house is like a F P showroom as it is.
Kaz - hopefully tonight will be better for you. That's one thing that scares me about having 2 kids. Its hard enough to manage one sometimes.
Tiff - I love watching L interact with his little friends. L's still at the stage where he's happy playing on his own or being close to me (which I love).

Think we are teething again. L's been rubbing at his ear. When we picked him up from daycare it was all red and looked like blood. They were very quick to reassure us it was paint. Sure enough it came off in the bath. L's got 8 teeth so I guess its probably molars now (is that right?).

Day off tomorrow so heading out to our State Library for their children's activity time.

    Have a good evening all.

    HI everyone
Sorry, I've been lurking a bit too, but thought I'd actually say Hi today!

Mo - weekend swimming lessons are hard to come by around us, they are all full! So we thought we'd start midweek and then maybe move to Saturday when a spot becomes available

Trish - congrats on your anniversary. Might have to take you up on the offer for the Mattel voucher!

Pish - I meant to ask, how did Tiera go in Fiji with the weather, flights etc? There is a possibility we will be going next year (YAY!) for a wedding and I wasnt sure how Tahlia would go?

Nickers - best of luck to Nixon for his surgery, I'm sure he will be fine. Will be thinking of you

    Julia - Welcome Back!

Not much new with us, Tahlia has been really miserable since about Monday, I'm wondering if there are some teeth on the way. She hasnt been interested in her solids at all, and is also less interested in b/f's? Does that sound normal for teething? I actualy woke up engorged this morning, and had to express a bit cause it hurt! That hasnt happened for a long time!

We are also starting to think about the birthday party. Have ordered some invitations, and I'm now thinking about the cake. I got one of the womens weekly party cake books for my baby shower, but they all look so hard! I really want to make it myself though

    Have a great day everyone!

Morning girls, we had a slightly better night last night. I think I am going to have to take my 2 year old to the doctors, something just doesnt seem right and she is getting hysterical for no reason. She is also chewing so hard on her dummies that she has split two in the past week, so I am wondering if there is something wrong with her teeth?

Anyway one other thing I wanted to ask, we are in Melbourne (Hampton Park) and I need to organise a cake for Tay. I got one for my husbands birthday a couple of weeks ago and it was ordinary, so has anyone got any suggestions of who does nice cakes around here? I wanted a sponge decorated. This is the hardest thing about being new to our area, I have no idea about where to get these things!

Tay's party plans are well under way I just cant believe my baby is one!

Kazaraz - cant help with a suggestion for a cake place, cause I am over the other side of Melbourne, but it might be better to post this question in one of the other threads as more people will see it (and hopefully someone who lives near you!)

    Good Luck!

    Afternoon all
No news! Today is MIL b'day we are all going out for dinner, but thts about it.
Trish - Your shopping spree sounds fantastic! Wish we had something like that around these parts!
Saffi - I bet your little man enjoyed his play time at the library! We dont have anything like that here... I really wish we lives in a bigger town purely for the social activities for kiddies
Kellie - Great tohear from you! That pic of Tahlia looks just like my cousin! lol She is so cute! Tiera did really well on the flight over... It is such an early flight that she fell asleep as soon as the plane started backing out from the terminal and slept a good couple of hrs. Over there she was an angel and loved going for a swim each day. Oh also the resort staff would just walk over to me and take her off me! hahaha They love having cuddles and the men are just as bad as the women! It was fantastic. As for the flight home she did play up a bit but only cuz she was over tired and I was really sick so my mum had to deal with her. After T carried on for a while I put her in her sleeping bad (which when that is on she know she its time for a sleep) she was sleep a couple of mins later and woke just before we were due to land. There was another baby on that flight and the take off and landing really effected him... He would cry the poor lil thing! Fiji is beautiful so if u do go over there you'll have a great time!
Kazaraz - Glad to hear u had a bit of a better night last night! I hope ur 2y/o is ok and not in too much pain!
    Take care all

Kazaraz - Sorry, I can't help you with cake shops in your area either. I get mine from a bakery in our local shopping centre. To post a new thread, go to the section you want to post it, then scroll down to the bottom of the page. There is a button on the left-hand side of the screen that says "New Thread" (directly above the heading "Display Options"). Click on the "New Thread" button and you should be able to create your thread. HTH

Kazaraz can't help either, A Friend of the family is making Maddi's & i think she lives over Oakleigh way.

Amber doing ok here, I have a head cold, sore throat & i feel like carp.

Had our 12wk u/s yesterday & Cookie was very active.
Cookie was waving at us, showing us their feet. Alot more active than Maddi was.
We even got the same sonographer who did Maddi's u/s! She loved seeing Maddi.
Hopefully I'll get my NT results on Monday & then i can start to relax
Had my OB & G.I app today & everything is going well with them both.
Got to hear Cookie's hb today as-well, it's so nice hearing it!

So much to catch up on I can't do it!!! I just hope everyone is well and will keep in the loop a bit more from now on.

Max is a zoomer of a crawler now and has started pulling himself up and standing like a big boy, he also walks when I'm holding his hands. He wants to do this constantly. His sleep has totally gone up the creek though....30 min naps which are driving me a bit insane (hence not being able to read everything!) and night time he wakes maybe 4 times! I don't know what the deal is! I'm not one to leave him to cry either so meh! I just deal with it! I gave him panadol the other night before bed just to see what would happen and he slept better so who knows! The only night he slept through was the other day when DH went out and got drunk, so I was awake thinking about what a moron he was being instead of making the most of Max sleeping thru! At least I know that Max can do it!!!

Anyway, must go, hope everyone is well (Mo & Ange with your bumps!) and happy!

Trish- probably a good thing I don't live in Mel, be so tempted and we haven't got our tax back yet! Gratz on the savings every bit counts . Thank you for the well wishes, DP was told he couldn't have kids so we are hoping things have repaired and not just a lucky once off 'shot' lol. Shall see how we go. Can't try TTC till a month after my chicken pox shot in October can't wait to have all the needles out the way until all the preggie ones again! I keep getting flash backs of things I'd forgotten, the craps, the sleepless nights, making me think maybe I shouldn't go back again LOL.

Saffi- Yeah I need one of those, I'm sort of over a year late... dum de dum *acts all innocent* do you think they'd believe I'm still a virgin and Ry was an immaculate conception? :P. Yes it was really upsetting he didn't have much to do with him for a few months when Ryan just sort of laid around and didn't do much but since about 6months onwards and especially lately he's been spending heaps of time with him, they have pillow/wrestle fights on the bed all you can hear is Ryan peein himself laughing and laughing and DP holds his hands and takes him for walks around the house and plays 'aeroplanes' with him. Whether he likes it or not he's going to be more involved :P Even if it's distracting Ryan while I deal with the iddybiddy.

Kazaraz- is there any local bakery's near you? Got my DP a mud cake covered in cream and strawberries and chocolate shavings was absolutely massive for $19 which is pretty reasonable for a bday cake

Anyone else got the household itch? I've been cleaning and rearranging all day I'm exhausted!

Hey girls, so I took Mia to the doctors this morning. She has a sore throat and an ear infection again! So after two sleepless nights, lots of crying and us getting upset because she is upset at least we know there is something wrong. The thing is, everytime I have been to the doctors in the last few months, 4 times, she has always got a sore throat and an ear infection! My DH wants to go to the ENT Specialist and see what they say, I am more hesitant to wait, I think because I am hoping that its just another virus! Roll on the warmer weather!

Anyway, I posted a thread regarding cakes and a few of the girls have made suggestions so that is great. I made Mia's but am not so keen to do Tay's myself. I really should.

Celtic - maybe I could get you to courier one down to us in Melb, as that sounds great haha

Trinity - glad to hear your pregnancy is going well, how exciting! I am starting to really get clucky about having another baby. I said to my DH one more is it (much to his disappointment). I said I just dont feel done, he said you are going to have to stop having babies one day, how sad is that prospect. I cant imagine life with no baby around the house!

Trish - thanks heaps for your instructions on posting a thread, sometimes I think I am a bit dopey haha. I used to be so much more computer friendly before I had a husband that knews everything about computers! Now I just get him to do things for me and help me.

Anyway, thanks guys for your suggestions and thoughts on the cake!

    Enjoy your night x

Amber - it was excellent. There were heaps of bubs and kids there today. Also the Writers Festival was on so there were school kids and people everywhere. Not going to go for the next couple of weeks as it will be school holidays. Let me know if you want to go and I'll meet u there.
Kaz - thats no good about Mia's ears/throat. Going to the ENT may be a waste of money but then again it could be peace of mind.
Mo - great that the scan went well. You're only 12 weeks? Seems like you have been pg forever already. Did you happen to see Cookie's bits?
Tiff - I've heard Fiji is very kid friendly. Been thinking it might be a good place to go for our next holiday (whenever that will be). Plane flight not too long either.

I had an afternoon nap today. L had a marathon sleep after our outing and slept for 3+ hours. I had to go in to wake him so I could pick DH up from work. Amber - another reason to go the library as it wears bubs out.

Oh well. Better think about heading off to bed.

I'll check in over the weekend.
