Bath - cake as always looks beautiful, you make them look so professional. I bet Niall will love tucking into it tomorrow. Fantastic news that the tablets are working and good on you for perservering with it.
Rory - glad the party went well apart from you all being unwell. We want to see your cake pics too! It is so nice to reminise (sp?) what was happening this time last year, esp if your baby was born during "normal" hours. Chelsea was born at 4.58pm so we lit a candle at the exact time on her first birthday. Marley was born at 3.35am, so I don't think we will be lighting one that day!!! Hope you manage to take the day off tomorrow and try to rest up and get rid of that cold.
Julie - don't worry about the take away thing! I have given Marley Red Rooster chicken before. Thats great that Will had no reaction to the egg, but most don't after the age of 1. There are so many foods that contain egg solids that you prob would have noticed a reaction before anyway. Its great that you have a regular walking group, wish I had some motivation to get outside! Thankfully it was raining today so spent the whole day inside with the heater on.
Nic - I wish I got you to show me some scrapbooking tips before you left. I still haven't started yet! Maybe I should do one for Marleys birthday. Your poor SIL must have been in labour for a while, hope you hear something soon.
Bath will go look at Niall's cake, but I'm sure as usually that it will be great, hope you have a fantasic birthday Niall.
Kailen is going great he got a bit of his hair shaved so that they could put his stitches in, looks a bit funny. I think Lockie got a shock with the amount of blood when it first happened, oh the joy of having boys, lol.
DH made me a really nice card last night for my birthday (made me cry), and I got a female hand of the mother goddess holding an infant baby (it's symbolises the same thing as the madonna) very nice and thoughtful from DH.
I'm going to watch Kailen at his sports day today as well.
We went to Sydney for the weekend to have Caitlyns party with some family and friends.. (party number 3 for her) . I am glad the rain held off on the sunday so we could have it outside..
Amanda glad that Kailen is doing great with the stiches. Nic hope your SIL has had the baby.
A little about me for those who don't know.. I live in Canberra with my DH and daughter.. Love BBQ, coffee , reading . I used to cross stich but haven't found the time. I am thinking that I would liek to scrap book. I keep reading about digital scapping and think that looks great.
I've missed so much! I've lurked a bit for fleeting moments before being yanked back to reality here with my books.
Happy Birthday to all the babies who have turned one already!!!
Amanda - you earth mama, you - the card sounds like it would have turned me to mush, too I love those images of mummies and babies.
Mel - Yeah, 3.35am is a bit optimistic! We got so caught up in Oscar's ideal birth that we forgot to take the time and had to use powers of elimination!
I've been feeling poorly since yesterday, but today I'm a bit better so we're off to Booby Club soon.
Monday we went for a drive to Mirboo North to the Brewery for lunch...it was only just a bit divine and fabulous.
Sunday we had a 5th Birthday party and we have a 3rd birthday party on Saturday. Birthdays all over the place!
Well, little over a week to go and my exams start. Better go, I think the kid is waking up...
Good morning! Just home from collecting Wade from Kinder and Niall's immunisation needles! Thankyou for all Niall's "Happy Birthdays"... I think the best gift so far has been a very gentle nurse who gave such a delicate injection (if that's possible!) that Niall didn't even wince! But I think the fact that I was undoing my maternity bra at the time might have had something to do with it... just a tad distracted as I hadn't given him his morning feed up to that point! LOL I co-ordinated attaching him immediately after a quick succession of needles... and luckily the nurse agreed to give them in his legs (they usually recommend arms at this age) but because he is not a chubby baby the lags were ok. I hope Marley's needles go as smoothly Mel!
Happy Birthday Amanda! I didn't realise it was coming up... your card sounds lovely, I hope you have a peaceful and pleasant day! Good to hear Kailen is ok... did you give him a shave all over? Your boys would look smart in no. 2's (crew cuts)... it wouldn't suit Wade... he's defiantely a long ontop, short around the ears kinda guy.
IK: good to see you back in here but there is certainly a place for lurking now and again. Hope you enjoy Booby club... I've had excellent results with the relactation tablets as you have probably read... Niall drank for a whole 10 minutes from my smaller left side at the doctor's today! That's the longest stint in months (at least 3). Drive to MN sounds wonderful... I'm hanging to get out of the city... been ages... going up to Castlemaine for a weekend in July though. When our babes are older we should do a day trip up to Healesville Sanctuary/Yarra Valley dairy, lunch at the dairy is also a bit devine
Hiya Emishka I also think about my neglected cross-stitch projects... would just loooove a day spent stitching! I still haven't started a birth sampler for poor Niall
Happy Birthday Niall & Amanda
Glad Niall's needles went well and that Kailens head sounds ok.
Just a fleeting post as have to get ready to meet some Perth BB girls for coffee and cake - im sure ill be late as usual as Will has just gone to sleep - grrr
hope you all have a good day, hopefully bbl
Julie x
Hiya Julie Hope your meetup goes well... I know how hard it is to get out the door somedays! Oh and BTW Australia had Firecracker Night (GF's) until about the mid/late 70's I think until the govt. deemed it to be too dangerous.... doesn't stop people from setting a few off anyhow... we hear them go off around here at all times of the year... New year mainly...
"I wanna another sandwich!!!" <-- being yelled at me... I swear Wade reserves his manners for public occassions only *grrrr*

i have a new nephew! Cooper Thomas was born at 8pm last night. 8lb 11oz ad 55cm long! we had freinds of ours have a baby boy last sat night also named Cooper and 9lb 3oz!
Anyway couldnt get into to see them last night because SIL had to go and get the placenta removed after it did not come out. Bub was born not breathing and took them a while to get him going, must have been a scarey few minutes for them. But mum and bub are both well now and unfortunatley i am at work today. I will leave work, go pick up Nix and pay a quick visit tonight. Tomorrow i will go in again for a better visit.
we lit Nixon's christening candle on his birthday at the time he was born 5.08pm.
Has any of your bubs had their hair cut yet? i wanna get Nixon's cut cause its got real long over his ears, DH doesnt want me to get it cut!

Hi.
Hoping I can join in on the convo in here.
My daughter is turning ONE on the 24th of June!! Can't believe it.
She is our second beautiful bub in the house. We have a big brother here.
He is 2 turning 15 in August HAHA
Everyone ready for the birthday parties, or any good stories of the parties that have just happened?
So many new people - welcome!!
Bath - I did have a warming of the heart moment when you posted about your left boobie playing the booby juice game again Good one! Where would we be without BB?? I hope Niall's had a marvellous day, apart from being jabbed!
Mel - sounds like the funeral went really well, which is what you want to be able to say on these occasions
Nic- congrats on being an aunty!
Julie - hope you had a great meet up today.
Booby Club was good today and I felt bad that I went even though I have this cold, but I had committed to giving the group leader a lift there! That and I was desperate for their company.
Tomorrow I have some appointments, but in between, I'm heading to the Mothers Direct shop because they are having a stocktake sale and I'm in for the 'up to 50% off maternity bras'!! I'm well overdue for a fitting and might as well buy on sale.
Oscar's had it, gotta go...
This time last year I was starting to think about pushing... Kelly was beside me encouraging me through the worst of the contractions... as was DH... the oxytocin drip had been finally turned off thankgod as they were getting waaay too strong and close for my liking. The radio was on (Gold 104) playing hits of the 80's... we were having a bit of a laugh in between contractions joking about which song was going to be playing when I pushed him out... honestly this was my only sanity-saver! I don't usually like that station! (Music was my main source of focus this labour... previous ones had been in silence and I found that having something to listen to really helped) Anyhow, I was well and truely over it all as I had been in the same room all day (after an induction at noon, had been at the hospital since 7am)... things got really tough toward the end... Niall's head got stuck and they were talking about the vacuum suction... a doctor went in search of one... anyhow I heard Kelly say "c'mon, you can do this! You've come all this way!" etc. "Footloose" was playing on the radio... I could see the humour in the whole situation yet I was scared out of my wits. I knew the doctor was going to return with the dreaded suction thing (which Verity was assisted with and resulted in her having a huge lump the size of 1/2 a tennis ball on the back of her head) and I was determined that this baby not have to endure that so i gave one helluva push and "ooooouchy!!!" out he came! Soon after I heard exclamations that he had been born with his hand up next to his face and I had sustained a graze... leading to excruciating internal examinations. Anyhow, eventually i got to hold him, after DH and Kelly had had long cuddles while I was being checked out. He was, of course, gorgeous and attached for a BF pretty much immediately.
Oh and he was born at 8.53pm... we're just about to light a candle too Maybe play "Footloose" LOL
Anyhow hope you don't mind me reliving Niall's birth here tonight... I don't think I ever ended up writing a de-brief in BB as Kelly wrote a detailed account for me and gave to me as a typed hardcopy. I always meant to get a digital copy to put here on BB and Nic reminded me enough times... but it just never happened. Oh well... so many new girls now... you might want to share your stories here too!
ETA: Thanks for posting the birthday list again Nic You read my mind!

Bath it's great that we got to hear your birth story, wasn't it Aneta born with her hand beside her head as well? I'm glad that your left boobie is back making milk, yay. They only shaved around the cut and they both do have crew cuts, and Wyatt's is longer with his cute curls, lol.
Welcome Isabella, you have gorgeous looking kids.
Nic glad your SIL is ok, same with your nephew glad all is well with all of them now. I usually get it cut when it gets long, I think that Kailen was 17mths and Lockie was closer to 2. Just get the ends trimmed DH most probably won't notice, make sure you get the hairdresser to save a lock of his hair.
Julie I hope that your coffee with the Perth BB girls was great.
IK I recently got a new maternity bra, hope you get some great bargains tomorrow.
Hi Emma and Mel.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes, we went to Fasta Pasta for lunch and poor Cody has been throwing up this arvo as well, I think he has a stomach bug, poor mite. Off to bed now.
Amanda - sounds like you had a lovely birthday (apart from a spewy bub LOL!) and so nice of DH to go to so much trouble, makes the card/present so much more significant. Glad Kailen is feeling better. I'm sure Lockie has learnt his lesson, poor bugger must have really ***** himself with all the blood.
Emishka - what is digital scrapbooking? Sounds pretty cool, might get me motivated to actually start some on paper!
IK - welcome back! Was wondering where you were. I really notice it when you don't post. Sounds like you had a fab weekend and good food/wine too!!! Lucky girl.
Bath - glad to hear Niall was a brave boy with his needles, goes to show how well a distraction works. Thank you for sharing Niall's birth story - I had to PML about "Footloose"! I love 80's music and what an appropriate song for the occasion!!! I would have done exactly the same thing to avoid that vacum thing - looks frightening!
Nic - congrats on your new nephew Cooper! Glad to hear he is doing well now. Must have been very scary for you poor SIL. What a great idea lighting the christening candle. for Nixons b'day. Re the haircuts, Chelsea got her first haircut aged 2.5. Much easier to let girls hair go. My GF cut her sons hair when he was 5 mths old, he had that much. I think Nixon would look very cool with a haircut.
Julie - hope you meet up went well, tell us all about it?
Mumzy - welcome and I agree, you have 2 very cute kids.
Such a busy day today! My dad, SIL and I went to the funeral of my nans dear friend who passed away last week. It was a lovely service and nice to be able to go on nans behalf. DH has the next few days off so he stayed home with the girls. Chelsea has had a mild cold and she has been coughing all over Marley. This morning Marley has the snots and is miserable - thanks Chelsea!!!! DH didn't take her swimming and will see how she is tomorrow, don't want her getting another ear infection so close to her birthday. After the funeral I had to help my dad unpack his things. Men are so hopeless, he hadn't really unpacked anything! Then I cleaned all the kitchen cupboards (they were clean but had to give them a quick once over!), his fridge, washing machine, etc. Glad DH got to experience a day in the life of a SAHM with sick kids - he suddenly has a new found appreciation of me LOL!!! Not sure if Chelsea will go to kinder tomorrow, will see how she is in the morning, she won't be happy if she doesn't go as their baby bunny rabbits are almost ready to open their eyes and start hopping.
Good morning girls, just a quickie while Niall and I have brekkie again... about to get ready for French Music... Nic: I forgot to say that my kids had and have hardly any hair when they are babies. I think Wade had his first haircut when he was about 1.5yo. Niall has even less so might be closer to 2yo.
just got a call from Verity... she forgot her leggings... needs them for school... gotta drop them off meaning I have to leave early... better hop to it!
well my hubby is hoe for the week which is great to have a helping hand again so yesterday i made him come with me to get kai's needles as her big sis had to get her 4 year olds aswell and i wasn't going to do that by myself, all went well may only cried with the 2nd one but has been milking it ever seens but kai screamed so much and so loud that had to move the other people out and close the door everyone at the doctor looked at us when we left you could tell the ones who have kid as they were almost laughing at all the fuss that was made she is normally pretty good so i think it was a big act for daddy. Wish I still had boobie juice as it was much easier but i ran out with both girls at about 4mths and no one up here was willing to help me except to say that i should feed more offtern and express between feeds but as i had starving baby i just ended up on the bottle. But aslong as they are happy and healthy that all that matters.
just had my 7yr old eye tested and found out he needs glasses my poor baby i feel very bad as i now wonder how long he has had truble seeing but he gets them next week and will be the first kid in his class with glasses so hope he want get teased at school .
hope everyone has a happy birthday and i would love to hear more brith stories
Hi all, gotta be qucik cause I am at work. Bath I have a midwives appointment at Heidelberg Mercy tomorrow morning at 9am (I think) wanna catch up somewhere for a coffee? I know it is hard with Wade and Niall to "go public" (LOL!) but I have a cold and being out of your house will hopefully prevent me infecting your brood! From memory Eaglemont station is a few stops in after the one near the hospital - we could catch up at the E'mont Village shops?
Oh Tali your poor lamb with glasses - my DH wore them as a kid and had a hard time because of it, but I think it is because his parents had 4 kids and could only afford the cheap-o "thunderbirds" thick black rimmed glassess - he looked like a little "Brains" as a kid
