Yep!!! i am Kerry, although after my CS with my first son i bled like a period for 3 friggen months!!!
But this time its not quite as bad, but i am still using the HUGE maternity pads!
Nath is going well, seems a bit windy so i have cut out all the chocolate and caffine out and am eating to the strict lactation diet so hopefully that helps a bit.
He still wants to sleep with me every night and is breast feeding like a friggen champ! Please dont hate me anyone that is having a little trouble - but i still cant beleive how easy and wonderfully this has come to us. Still no problems or supply/nipple issues... or am i nieve and is it yet to come!
i am going to ABA meet ups to help support me in this, and to also keep going with it! i want to do it for at least 2 years!
WEll sweets, must head off, got to get the kidlets ready to go to the supermarket - wow thats fun now.
Take care and hope you are all have lovely milky nights with your beautiful babes!
Had my appt with the hospital lactation consultants and they agreed to try medication to increase my supply thank fully, so I started it today. I also double pump on the expressing machine now, DH thinks I'm like a milking station... good way to put him off haha
Turns out that both Madeleine & I have thrush which has been causing us all the issues with latching, the severe pain in my breasts, fever & headaches, so we both have started treatment although it doesn't seem to agree with Madeleine to much.
Kbowman, I was around that time, its almost stopped now, so hopefully it will be the same for you.
Calebsmum, thanks for your kind words, it's pretty tough this BF & you can really feel the pressure but at least there is plenty of support, if this medication doesn't work well I wont feel bad as I did all I could.
Better run, she has just woken up, take care everyone
CJ, that's good news that you've found the problem. Hopefully the treatments will work and you'll be able to bf.
Mummatotwo, having to cut out chocolate!!! That's what I look forward to each night, though maybe that's why Ashlyn doesn't like sleeping in the evenings.
Kerry, yep still bleeding here too. I actually thought it had stopped and then wham, it started again. Can't wait till it's finished (neither can DH, lol!)
Kell, how are the night wakings going? It's so exhausting being awake at night while everyone else is snoring away. Do you get much sleep during the day?
Eej, how's the peanut shell going? I've got a sling but haven't used it much yet, just trying to be careful after the c-section. Think I'm ready to really get into it now though.
Ashlyn is doing well. We have a visit with the health nurse today. She'll be here in an hour and both the girls are fast asleep. Danielle still needs to get up and dressed and have breakfast! We've had a bit of a stressful week though. MIL had major heart surgery on Tuesday. She's doing well though and should be out of intensive care today. But unfortunately my Gran had a heart attack and passed away yesterday. She was nearly 90 so it wasn't unexpected, but still feeling a little down. Poor Danielle is still not entirely understanding what's happened. She was asking if the ambulance was going to bring her back.
Hope everyone is doing well and starting to get some sleep!
Kerry ~ After DS I bled for a full 12 weeks and it was ridiculous. It was like a constant period! Found out it was due to retained products. Still spotting on the odd occasion and Seven is now 6 weeks old - OMG - but it is easing up. Matthew is only 2 weeks old, so it should start to ease up for you soon!
MT2 ~ I cut out caffiene and some other things from my diet as well, and cut back on the chocolate - I can't quite give that up!!! We are using a combination of Infants Friend and Brauers Stomach Calm with Seven before every feed and it is really working wonders! She isn't as grumpy now and easily brings up her wind and farts!!!! Don't feel bad for succeeding at BF! Congratulations!!!
Candy ~ Glad you have got some things to try to help with your supply. I am crossing my fingers it works for you!!!
Captain ~ Seven is still sleeping in bed with me, and we are now feeding 3hrly overnight, and most of the time we are both still asleep when it happens! Hooray! We started getting Seven off to sleep in a different room of the house then once she is asleep, she and I head off to bed and snuggle in together and for the past 2 nights she has stayed in bed, happily sleeping and feeding until morning! So hopefully this continues to work for us!! So sorry to hear about your Gran. May she rest in peace.
Hi ladies,
Please excuse my lack of capitals i am typing one handed while i pump.
Captain- Sorry about your Gran and your mil. the peanut shell is great, really good for doing things hands free.
CJ- I'm glad ur getting the meds. It good to try everything. i double pump sometimes, you do end up feeling a bit like a milking cow when i pump dh sings "pump, pump the cans" to the tune of pump the jam! its pretty funny.
kerry- good to see you in here.
Well i am loving weekends... DH has decided he will do the night feeds (one good thing about expressing) while i sleep! Its been so nice.
One thing thats not nice is my clothes not fitting, i had to go out and buy some bigger things. its very disheartening. i have been walking but will have to do lots more.
Just stopping in quickly while Molly naps. We are going great guns here. My In-laws have been here since I had my c-section and they finally went home today. While I loved all the help I was gettinng its also nice to be home alone. My mum had been here for nearly 3 weeks before I gave birth so we haven't had the house to ourselves in so long. But in saying that this will be the first night we are home alone and I am a little nervous
Molly developed thrush from me taking antibiotics or I gave it to her . So we are currently trying to break the reinfection cycle that happens while BFing. I think we may finally be winning. Molly's attachment has improved and BF doesn't feel so bad now.
Molly has been sleeping well. She feeds 4 hourly but overnight that can stretch out to 5 hours.
I am feeling much better after my c-section and can feel my energy comin back. We actually have been out a few times for walks around the block. The first time I took Molly out there was a slight wind and I had to laugh at how uncertain she looked about it all.
Oh dear my Mollycat is calling me. Sorry for lack of personals but I will be back
