Sue, it wouldn't take much to set me crying at the moment. Our poor babies. But the alternative doesn't bear thinking about. On the local news tonight there was a report that there's been an outbreak of whooping cough in the Riverina. I've given Matthew another dose of baby Panadol after checking his temperature, which was higher than normal. I'm so glad I bought one of those expensive digital ear thermometers, very quick and accurate. He's sleeping now in his bassinet but I'm keeping a very close eye on him. It's been an awful day, not just with the needles but it was 38 degrees this afternoon. And it's still about 29 degrees. We have ducted evaporative air conditioning, but it's not very effective at these high temps and when it's humid. We just had a storm go through, hasn't cooled things down really, just steamed them up.
Matthew was weighed quickly today before his jabs and his dressed weight is 6.29kg. He seems to be taking up more of the change table now and filling his bath. Pleased I took advice to get the biggest tub I could. I'll have to see about getting one of those chair things for the full size bath.
Has anyone else been getting really sharp pains in their feet when they get up in the morning? I googled it (as we do ) and I think it's from walking around all the time barefoot on a hard surface. I'm also going to have to start working on my abdominal muscles as my back's killing me when I carry Matthew for any length of time now.
Candy Jay, wow at Madeleine sleeping for 9-10 hours. I get anxious when Matthew sleeps for longer than five hours and feel the need to start monitoring his breathing. I worry so much! I think your healthy lunches and daily activity will have the weight falling off you. I'm losing weight still and I haven't begun any regular exercise yet. Will need to start though!
Mummatotwo, omg you do sound busy! Good for you that you're still powering on with the breast feeding. The expressing, bottle washing and sterilising is a pain. And it would be good to have the bottles at the right temperature instantly when Matthew demands to be fed!
Niamh, hope you find a new home soon. I'm going to have to start looking in the new year. I'm longing to be back on the coast again, where it's green and the rain falls.
NatB, glad to hear from you! I have been wondering how you're going. Ouch at the carpal tunnel syndrome!! Sounds like Emme's doing really well after her start with the severe reflux.
Pam, yes, I'm hoping to see more of Matthew's Dad now. I know that we're always on his mind! But I can't wait until we're together more often. Has Poppy had her needles yet? She sounds like such a darling, the way you describe her twinkling eyes and smile!
Good to hear from you, Nae! I check out your pictures on Facebook, lovely renos you're doing!
Eej, I still have some foot swelling. My ob said it will go away - eventually! Hope so!
Indie, ouch at the state of your nipples! You deserve a bloody great gold medal for going as long as you have! I'd be going to the bottle to give your breasts a rest at least. Hope Molly has recovered from her jabs!
Good to see you, Bianca! Cooper sounds a delight! And very advanced!
Captain, I started applying the Lansinoh and it worked wonders. Thank you!!
Must get started on the millions of jobs I have to do that I haven't got to today. Like emptying Matthew's bathtub from last night...
