Hi Mo and welcome to the thread. Maddison is just gorgeous and I do think she might even be hairier than my Elisabeth (my DD1 was nearly a baldy when born so it's a bit of a novelty for us)!

Noni, Elisabeth hasn't had any really unsettled patches at night *YET* but I did say to DH if she does we should put her in bed with us in the snugglebed as that way we call all relax together.

Cally, my contingency plan if DD is ever too unsettled for daytime naps is to pop her in the baby bjorn and take a nap in my recliner - I'm too scared I'll drop her if I fall asleep otherwise!!

Sherie - LOL at kids pestering you even tho DH is there - (same thing happens at my house, divided by three I suppose). Mummy must be the person they get the quickest results from!

Leanne - glad you enjoyed your shopping trip - I was surprised the other day when DH and I took Elisabeth out how much longer it takes with a baby (I only dimly remembered this) - but E is a much quicker feeder so my life is already going to be more efficient than it was with DD1.

OK, well I'm practically completely weaned from my panadol habit LOL but still ooooh so tired most days. I'm getting hours more sleep than DH but I find it soooo hard to wake up to feed still. I guess that's just a normal part of the healing process.

We've had a bit of a shocker here this morning. Alister has been really windy and unsettled today which is really unlike him. He only slept for an hour before waking again and usually he sleeps for 3hrs in the morning. He is asleep again now though but I have no idea when to expect him to wake up.

Marydean, the first time we went out with Alister it certainly brought back the memories of how long it can take to get ready to go somewhere LOL. It gets quicker with time though thankfully. When I sleep with Alister in the recliner, I have a pillow under my arm to keep it propped up and he can't go anywhere - it really is quite comfy.

I had a bit of a scare last night too. I had a heap of fresh bleeding (and I mean gushing) and then I passed a huge clot nearly the size of a tennis ball. I got a bit freaked out and DH was nervous of me having a haemorrage (which can still happen for a while afterwards apparently) but I had no pain, so we didn't go to hospital or anything. The bleeding has settled down again and I feel fine, so we are assuming it was just from the clot coming away.

Wow Sherie that IS really scary - do be careful for the next few days won't you! I worry constantly about my wound - it looks like it's getting better but it has *TMI* this awful smell to it. I mentioned it to the OB but he just said it was looking good and didn't address the smelly factor at all...every time I get even so much as a wind twinge I start worrying again! I might even make a pain of myself and go in there again this week.

Those recliner naps sound like bliss - hope Alister is a bit more settled for you this afternoon.

MD- Try bathing your wound with Dettol diluted in Warm water then pat dry this is what we did. Last time when we came home my wound was terribly smelly so my mum did this for me everyday and it got better quicker. I also did it this time just in case.

    Hey Kez,

Now I am not the only August mumma in here. Welcome to the group, everyone is here is supa lovely.

Logan had the biggest sleep today, I was so impressed. Took a while to get him to go to sleep though. I am thinking maybe the heat up here has made him sleepy?? He seems to want to feed for about 10 mins at a time all day long too, its quite frustrating when I want to get things done but feel like i am stuck on the couch all day.

Sherie hopefully the worst is over with the bleeding now. I got a little fresh blood today.

Noni great to hear everythign is going smoothly for you. I too have hundreds of pictures of Logan already, pretty much a new one or two (or three or four lol) everyday.

HERE WE ARE! I was wondering when our Sept forum was. And i have just noticed that there is a whole other thread that I have missed DOH! No wonder I was so far behind on al lthe baby goss! I feel left out now haha

Marydean - I just commented in the Sept belly buddies thread that you havent been telling us how you are! Now I know why LOL, we have a baby buddies group....im a bit slow still haha.
Im still paranoid about my wound too! I hope yours heals up quick smart. How long do they say it will take? I have stopped taking the abs and my apatite is back but still not in full swing just yet.

Sherie - I dont like the sound of that blood clot either. Like Marydean said, take it easy please! I have also had a few large clots lately but im keeping a close eye on them. We had to bu yRory some colic relief drops when we brought him home. He was in quite a bit of pain but it has settled down now.

I have been trying to get Rory to sleep by himself for the past hour but it didnt work. He wants to be rocked asleep THEn put down. I popped him in his vibrating papasan for a moment to jump on the computer and he is now fast sleep haha.

oh oh oh check out Rory's website, I have uploaded a pic of him smiling! A tickle on the cheeks and he smiles away He is so smart

Leanne - thanks for your Dettol tip, I have been bathing it with salty water and drying with a hair dryer but it hasn't made any difference yet - obviously need something stronger. I am soooo reassured that your wound was smelly the first time - up until now I haven't been able to find anything that indicates this might be "normal" so good to hear I'm not alone (as I have really been fretting)!

Kerry - Welcome to the group! Wow 17 hours - you must've been pooped! Sorry to hear about little Alfie passing, it's always soo sad when you loose a pet (they are a part of the family really). What sort of furry was he? We have a few ladies in here with furkids they are besotted by so you'll fit right in!

Katie, breastfed babies often nurse more frequently in hot weather - it's because the foremilk contains more water and quenches their thirst. You might find he nurses longer in the evenings when it's cool...?

OMG Renee, a vibrating papasan...? Aint never heard of that - sounds like something you'd get in a seedy back alley in Thailand! LOL I love that Rory is smiling, Miss E also smiles - mostly when her tummy is full and she's comfy and drifting off to sleep - tho sometimes I get a really quick smile when she first sees the boob in front of her LOL - she doesn't actually smile at us though - yet - can't wait!! Anyway glad you found the thread - tho for some reason I thought you'd already made your way in last week...???

Hi Kerry and welcome! How is Aiden settling in for you?

Alister had a better afternoon yesterday and had a huge 5hr sleep. I woke him at 6 and then we had lovely big feed and then he was back down again at 10 after another feed (I swear this kid has hollow legs LOL). He had a good night too. As for me, I am going to call the hospital this morning as my bleeding has picked up again and last night I was very uncomfortable in the pelvic area. I still feel fine but this isn't *normal* lochia for me. This afternoon I am going for some more Bowen therapy, and I might get her to look at Alister too.

Renee, I nurse Alister to sleep most times too. I tended not to with the others, but he is my last baby and he wont be my *baby* for long so I want to make the most of it kwim? And you wont be making a rod for your own back either, just do what you want to do. I don't get a lot done sometimes because of it, but the washing will still be there when Im done.

Katie, it could be the heat making him sleepy. My summer bub was quite sleepy on the really hot days too. It would explain his feeding pattern too - he probably gets too hot to feed for too long, but then isn't fully satisfied, so he wants to feed again soon after.

    hi all
good to see gracie, ella and queenie in here - our group is nearly complete!! (we just need your babies and Fianne - where is she??). Queenie - your due date is coming quick and fast my dear - before you know it you will be a Mum!!
Well girls, wish me luck - today is my frist day with Noah by myself... DH is back at work... am sure all will be good. Noah has started to be a little terror in the mornings, after the 5 or 6am feed he wont sleep til at least 10 or 11. I have just fed him again and no sign of sleep - I think he is 'waking up' but doesnt yet know how to be awake LOL!
Sherie - the bleeding doesnt sound good, I am glad you are checking it out with the Dr. I also tend to nurse Noah to sleep, not bc he is my last bub but.. well I cant resist him! I tend to pick him up pretty quickly if he cries also, I figure as with you, he is just a bub and all the other things I have to do will wait...
Renee - I am off to check out your pics now! I also think Noah is starting to smile a bit... and he is getting great at controlling his head... clever boy!
have we heard from Mbear since Sam was born? I hope she is OK and the gastro has passed...
    Hope you are all well...

Hi Pregpan. Noah sounds like he is being a bit cheeky for mummy ATM. When I do the 3-4am feed, I take Alister and sleep on the lounge with him as he settles quicker that way and I get a few more decent hours of sleep in. Are you able to have a snooze when he does go down? And you will do fine today too.

I was thinking about Mbear and SupaB last night too - I hope all is well with them and they are just too busy to pop in.

I just called the hospital and spoke with the midwife and she said that the clot was just holding things up in regards to my uterus contracting and the big bleed was caused by it coming away and now that it's been passed, the uterus can start contracting again (explaining why I feel so uncomfy) and push the rest of the blood out. She said it wasn't unusual for this to happen when the placenta was large like mine was (it was the size of a dinner plate - enormous) but all is good. So I am more than a little relieved to hear that.

Yay for Queenie, Ella and Gracie all finding their way in here - I expect Fianne will pop in soon...if she's not "busy" today, that is !

Sherie - Hope all goes well, it does sound very worrying and you've got to listen to your body - do you think the hospy is going to tell you to go in? I'm going in today to get checked out as I'm having horrible pains and I'd rather go straight to the horses mouth instead of fluffing around at the GP.
ETA - Well thank goodness it all sounds normal...hope you start feeling a bit more comfy soon!

Pregpan - good luck with DH back at work, I'm sure you'll go wonderfully! (I still can't believe DH had no leave last time...I'm still not ready for him to go back to work this time round after three weeks)!
