Buzzie - I'm glad Asher's meeting went so well with his dad. Must be such a huge relief.

With regards to the shower, I try to do it while Kai is settled or sleeping, but some days I just don't get that luxury because I have to go out. Kai is mostly unsettled in the mornings, so it makes it very hard to get ready for the day when all he wants is to be held. Yesterday I put him in his bouncer by the bathroom door and talked to him the whole way through my shower. Poor guy was screaming his head off though.

    Ok, I have 2 issues...

    1. During the day I put Kai to bed in his cot so he can get used to it. Well my wiggle bum of a boy ended up laying across the bottom of the cot. So do I have the mattress raised too much? Or is there something I can get that will...I don't know...tie him down?

    2. So I took my forms to Medicare yesterday to make a claim. The lady processed them and then gave me a little slip with a phone number on it and told me to call the number and give them answer the questions on the slip. Questions like your bank details and annual income. So I called up today and they asked for my 6 digit pin...which I don't have.

So my question is this, when you made your claim did you have to call familyassist and give them this information?

I thought I put my bank details on the form. I don't know why, but this has stressed me out tonight.

Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for a bit of a selfish post. Got to get tea...

Bron: first ? why is the mattress up? and yes that might be the reason.. Maybe lower it down a smidge

not sure on the 6 digit pin.. I was given a slip with our new medicare number on it... then our cards arrived a few weeks later...

Miss Olivia is still not happy.. I don't know what to do with her.. At the moment she is laying across me and a little whiny. I have given 2 doses of IF today. not overly keen to give it at every feed..

Question? I know BF babies can go 10 days without pooping but can they get constipated? Olivia seems to have so much gas but no poos. She had one tiny skid today and a small poo yesterday but thats it.. up until the other day she was doing 3-5 decent poops a day...

it wouldn't be so bad if she didn't scream so much... Altho the smiles i get when she is happy makes it all so much more bearable..

Hello EVERYONE! Im Kristie Im sure lots of you will already know me from Our belly group so woohoo we should all have had babies by now! (Last one of us through today!)

Finally made it here to the December Thread! Yayee Hope none of you mind me crashing in?? as My Bub was supposed to be born 28th Dec....But she had other plans 9/01/08. She is absolutely gorgeous and very tiring So I really have to get to bed and get some rest as she usually keeps me up from around 1am-4.30am not sure what Im doing wrong yet.... but will hopefully sort it all out soon as all this feeding and pooing and weeing at those hours is killing me! Im sure she's a Milk Vamprire only needs a big fix at night! Haha

Hope you are all well?? and will talk to you all again hopefully soon!
    BBL Kristie

Bron81- Regarding sleeping gizmo's with my first I had him in a mattress type material thing (sorry dont know what its called) It wraps around the whole mattress and has an insert Valcro attachment on top for bubs and yeah velcro/tie them in! Haha works a treat and is good for sids etc I got it from baby bunting or you can get these wedge things for them too that are easy just sit on bed lay them down and push the wedges together to hug around bubs. Do you have the cot sheets and blankets only made up at the end of bed? So that there feet are near touching end of cot that may help. Goodluck

    Byeeeee!

Bron we are having issues with family assistance too. We filled in the form then you need to either do the phone interview (for half an hour, who has half an hour to spend on the phone!) or do it on their website. They do want to know heaps of info. We opted for the website but now they have 'lost' some of our paperwork so am still waiting...

Bron- I think there is something called a safe T sleep (or something like that) that goes around they mattress and then velcros around the baby to stop them wiggling away.
As for the 6 digit pin for c/l can you just opt and say you dont have one, I have rung them a few times and when asked for the pin I just say I dont have one.

Kristie- great to see you have finally made it across!

Nic- I am pretty sure I have read that BF babies dont get consitpated- we are actualley going throught the same thing with Liam, he has gone from pooing every couple of hours, to not having done one for a couple of days.

Well I am completley exhausted today after an unsettled day with both the kiddies, I am just waiting for Liam to wake for his next feed and then I am heading for bed.

I had one of those safe t sleep things but never used it and sold it on ebay las year lol..

I always thought Bf babies couldn't get constipated either but it is almost like she is. and her farts are so smelly.. like she has done a poop but nothing there.. she is well settled now. I gave another dose of IF mixed my my milk as she doesn't like the taste so she now takes it with ease. and about 40 mins later she fed and farted like you wouldn't believe and is now out like a light....

AliI hope you get a decent night tonight.. you sure need it after an unsettled day

Nic - Sofia is gassy but not pooey as well, I feel it is somehow related to the 2 month old immunisations as she was having 5 pooey nappies a day before them.

Nic - Kai was like that over the weekend. Really smelly farts, lots of grunting and groaning, but no poo's until yesterday. I was a little constipated (sorry if TMI) myself so I drank more water and some metamucil (sp?). I don't know if its helping, but he did do a big poo yesterday and he's seemed a lot less grunting and groaning.

I have him raised for his reflux.

Thanks for all the info on the sleeping things. I'll get on to that.

    OK back to bed.

Ah thats right. You posted about his reflux.. Sorry I had forgotten.. I have been a little the same in the bottom end of things and wondered if the 2 were related...

SO I hear I sit at 4:30 exhausted.. SHe woke at 3 like usual but simply will not go back down.. SO i figured I may as well do something.. What I don't get is for once she is happy to just lay here but I tried just putting her in my bed and she could do wjhat she wanted and I could get a doze but oh no.. she screamed the house down so we got up.. *sigh*

Bron - we didn't have to call anywhere either... we just got our New number on a piece of paper, like Nic and are waiting for new cards now... although i do recall DH doing something on the website, just like Alicia says!! maybe that was it!

    Nic

hi everyone, I'm lara (to those who don't know me) and HI AGAIN to those who do. i'm assuming lisa is a mummy now so it makes no sense to post in the old belly buddy group, so here i am. My precious 2 yo Olly just deleted my post, so i'm writing it again, hoping Mylo doesn't wake up b4 it's done.

Mylo was born 1/1/08 but he was definately a december baby to me! officially he was a day early but my body was telling me he was a week late. I couldn't entice him out for love or money until he was "due", so i figure he'll either be stubborn or just really laid back. but he looks like he was overcooked by a week - still all red and peeling, and my placenta was very gritty (they asked if i was a smoker!)My gp sed scan dates are always a week late, in her experience. did anyone else have different dates to their official due date? which was accurate?

right now i feel ok, but i was nearly crying last night with tiredness: it seemed every 1.5 hours he was needing a feed, and a new nappy, which he would immediately poo as soon as i changed it, and pee all over me/him when changing, so i spent hours changing him and would fall asleep with him bfing in bed, and when i'd wake to put him in his own bed so i could sleep with out worrying he;d get squashed (DH is a heavy sleeper), he'd wake up and decide it was booby oclock and nappy time again! i reckon he does 20 poos a day.

i'm so gonna have a sleep when olly does this arvo! oh good, mylo's awake!
at the same time he's awe inspiring and a beautiful calming influence on me. its nice to hear we are having the same issues
