    Hiya ladies!!

i am needing some 'time out' at the moment as i have to give a paper this evening at uni...eeeeeeeppppp! slightly nervous as it is my first at this uni in front of these people...and also i am bummed because it wont finish until 6.30 and i KNOW that leila is not going to be happy when i get home...

great to hear from you Renee! and yes, it was quite the feat for me to get the ticker thing up and running. computers are definitely not my forte! and i would LOVE leila to do commando crawling like Rory! lol, that sounds hilarious!
you gotta love the mum days! always a much needed outlet to vent!

MD: yeah i make lorenzo do all the cooking. there is no way that i can make risotto fluffy and light...mine are all like bricks, and he just ends up laughing at it!! and i figure i married him, i might as well enjoy the benefits of the italian lifestyle and that most definitely includes the eating! and what are the sippy cups? leila has the no leak one but is getting frustrated at how hard it is to get the reward...need to find an alternative.

oh Noni you had a much better night than me by the sounds of it! leila slept until 3am but decided to get up and not go down without a fight. it's really unusual for her as she has been sleeping through (fairly consistently) since 8 weeks and has never struggled to go to sleep. i guess it's all the new tricks that she is learning (especially sitting up in her cot and banging the rails! )...12 kgs that is fantastic!! man i stacked it on when i got pg. i think i hit the 15kg mark...they made me get weighed when i was in labour (how shocking!). luckily i am starting (but only starting egad!) to get back in my pre bub jeans. tops are still a bit wacky, but i am trying to tell myself thats because of the all the bf...i live in eternal hope! maybe i should go to the pool and do some laps; i find that is the only excersise i can tolerate.

Agnes i feel for you! leila was exactly the same. she got to the point where if she saw the bottle she would start screaming...one of the ways we conquered her was to practice at home; i would give her a bit of boob and then when the immediate hunger had worn off, i would pop in the bottle (it worked really well when she was in the 'milk coma' state - you know when they go all relaxed...). that kind of the broke the ice.
and the weather was great! i found we got too hot (can u believe?!) and so we popped into the library to see what jemima puddle duck and curious george were up to. although leila started getting really excited and her squeals were echoing off the back walls - not exactly great library manners!

Hayley: congrats to Maddie! they think they are so cool when they do it dont they?! the cheeky little monsters! lol! how brave of you to have all the mums at your place. i can barely fit one pram into the terrace let alone a whole swathe of them! do you have to prepare food and drinks or is it shared? sorry the q's. we are just starting out on our own and we need playgroup ideas...and a venue (but that is turning out to be complicated...baby boom = no baby room!
and yeah, as i said to MD above, the food is definitely a bonus when marrying an italian (it also helps that both he and his brother are trained chefs back in italy...and they are competitive so when we go back there are always cook offs...i am the willing food critic LOL!!)

anyway best be off as this is raging outta control!

Good luck with the paper, Clare. I've pm'ed you a picture of the tupperware cups I mean (off ebay where else LOL). BTW that's a really good tip for introducing the bottle.

Noni, well done with the shopping, i went into my fave shop yesterday and they had lots of nice things for winter so I'll have to go back...having severe wardrobe blues ATM!

Renee, no I haven't rung the ladies yet as DH saw the lady across the road last night and it sounds like she might still have a place...so I"ll talk to her first.

We are having a big cook up here this arvo. I am making chicken and parsnip puree atm. I dug out a reallyt good book that has some fantastic easy puree recipes in it, so if anyone wants me to post some recipes let me know. Only problem is these recipes use a fair bit of formula in them...I was wondering if you can use cows milk for cooking or is that a big no no? What about a cheaper brand of formula ie heinz used for cooking only? Would that upset her tummy?

Clare - Good luck at uni, you will be fine! With the mums group we take turns at each others houses and whoever is the host that week gets some food together. Nothing big. I made cupcakes, corn & asparagus quiches and just put out some nibblies. Otherwise we have met at nice parks before as well and thats always fun. My DP is a good cook too, better than me and he loves to rub it in hehe. I am the same when it comes to risotto!!!!

Noni - I use the hiding of the shopping bag trick as well. They wont know unless they check out the bank statement!! I got my foam mat from the reject shop, do you have that over there? Maddie was slumping onto her hands when it came to sitting as well and then just yesterday out of nowhere she was sitting bolt upright. Asha will give you that little suprise shortly by the sounds of it.

Agnes - How did Will go? Did he take his milk? Why is the bubba in surgery? How sad, my worst nightmare.

Renee - You can come next time. You should have seen the house afterwards, it was like a bomb had hit it! Maybe babies only focus on one thing at a time? Because Maddie isnt crawling or rolling like Rory yet. Mind you a mum yesterday was saying her little one can sit but never spends time doing it, because she is too busy crawling around looking for action! Why sit when you can move about hehe. Aw I bet they were all crowding around Rory, he's such a cutie.

Hello everyone else - Leanne how are the boys today?

    hi all
how annoying i wrote quite a big post yesterday but it seems it never made it to the page... i hoep i can remember what i said!
Jazmum - sounds like the christening went really well and you created some lovely memories for your family! Hannah is so gorgeous!
MD - sounds like sucha good plan re FDC. I hope you get someone you like, this will certainly make it easier for you. Let us know when DH finds out if the move back home is a goer.
Noni - WTG on the shopping! I also did a big spree today, all work things.. it is nice to get back into my corporate wardrobe i must admit. I like the sound of that play mat thingy, and will be looking for one too.
Also thanks to whoever suggested the shower curtain under the high chair, will be getting this - my cleaner is mightily unimpressed with Noah's food art all over the floor!
Oh my little man isnt asleep - better go see if i can settle him. back later (sorry!)

ETA Hayley wow re maddie sitting - N also just mastered this!! Great hey. i think he is a more sit around and eat kinda guy - not v good at rolling and no sign of crawling yet but loves sitting and LOVES eating!

Grrrrrrrr so MAD! I went over my girlfriends house and a friend we both know from years back was there. She was giving Rory a cuddle and went to put him down on the floor. She tried put him down on his belly, so he was horozontal and when his feet touched the floor she just dropped him onto the wood flooring. Poor Rory was winded and he wouldnt stop screaming because he was hurt . Although she didnt mean to she shouldnt of bl00dy laughed! I guess she didnt realise that he was hurt?? I feel so bad for him, my poor darling.

Renee, hope Rory is o.k. I would have had a go at her if she dropped my kid and then laughed! Although I sometimes laugh at inappropriate times ie if DH hurts himself - it is a nervous response.

Pregpan, I would love to see a recent pic of Noah. I have hair envy at the moment - a girl at playgroup is one month older and has enough hair to wear pigtails. Will doesn't even have enough to know what colour it is yet lol

MD, hope it works out with the FDC lady across the road, that would be very handy.

Haley, well done to M on the sitting! Poo to that physio! Isn't it amazing how quickly they master a new skill

Cas, good luck with your paper. I wish I had a Lorenzo to make me yummy dinners. Instead I get duck a la shotgun pellets.

Leanne, hope everything is o.k with the boys

Cally, how did sleep school go?

Aglinra, poor bubba that is having surgery. Hope W starts taking the bottle better. My W is walking supported now, his favourite thing is to go one handed so he has one free hand to carry stuff.

Playgroup today, W decided that a 10 minute nap on the way home is enough of a morning sleep and didn't have a proper nap until 4pm. Turns out my new playgroup is in severe financial trouble and the leader hasn't been paid for three months (only a few hours twice a week but I am sure she would like to be paid for it). Looks like there is some fundraising in the works.

ive been helping asha with the crawling.. i'm a bit worried about her development so i thought she could do with a bit of help after all ive pretty much studied all of that stuff and had a few jobs in the area so i might as well use it lol.. i think its because shes too heavy lol little fatty if shes up on her hands and i help her lift her knees up she can stay there for a few secs kinda rocking and gets all happy and laughs but if she moves to up on her knees herself or i put her there when shes not already up on her hands she cant lift herself up without help... i hope she gets it soon i'm a bit worried noty about the fact that shes not crawling just at the fact shes not making alot of progress in certain areas without me helping her..
gosh renee thats awful!! how dare she drop poor rory and then laugh about it id be fuming too!!!
arte - wow thats nice of the playgroup leader to keep coming without being paid!! goodluck with the fundraising!!
pregpan - the one i got was from go lo and its supposed to be a naughts and crosses giant board lol it comes with giant naughts and crosses cut out of foam lol i bought another one today to make it a bit bigger
haley - yeah i looked in reject shop they didnt have it it dosnt matter i am happy with the one we got its orange and black squares not as colourful but it serves a purpose... wow thats interesting about maddie sitting.. Asha dosnt get to the sitting position unless i put her there lol so i dnt think its gonna happen soon lol..
