OH Wow! so much news to read I love it LOL.

Busy here - yesterday was preschool day and Alister and I went to our first Baby Bounce session at the library and it was so much fun! There were only 4 other mums there and Alister was the oldest - the others were 2x 6mths and 2 x 4mths and only one girl, but they are all really nice (two of them I already knew anyway) and it was great to have a cuppa and chat afterwards with them. You also get a resource book with all the stories and rhymes in it that you do in the session and the baby's all got a board book each to keep. He enjoyed it while we were singing, but trying to keep hold of him when we were just getting instruction was like trying to hang onto an octopus LMAO - arms and legs going everywhere!

Mum and I also checked out target, but we only have a small target country and they got bugger all in this year. All the DS bundles were sold out and they weren't raincheckable, but on ebay they have them for cheaper from the US anyway. They didn't have any pink smart trikes left, only 1 red one, but I didn't like that they had so much fabric on them - out here in the blistering heat during summer it would just fade and perish. I realised though when I saw it that that's what my sister got for my niece Leiah - she has mild cerebal palsy from birth and my sister thought it was great because she could strap her into it (Leiah doesn't have a lot of muscle strength so she can't sit unaided for long) and Leiah just loves it. So what I did get was the budget barbie camper bus for Paige which was $49.95 down from 99.95, one of those voice activated diaries for Erin which was the same price, a lego star wars battle ship for Lindsay and some duplo lego for Alister and some wooden thomas things for him.

Hayley, don't worry about M's size. Some people who are only used to seeing their own bubs will think that anything bigger or smaller than them is exaggeratingly bigger or smaller kwim? She's gorgeous as she is. Come the time they are 2yo you wont even be able to tell who was bigger or who was smaller.

G, glad the scan went well for you hun. Great news that your ob is cool with you feeding L. If you play it by ear for now he may wean on his own, or you may reach a point where you think you've had enough. If you want to tandem feed it wont be all that hard. Check out MummaB's thread on tandem feeding - she has a newborn now and is still feeding her 2yo DS - it might be helpful for you I think if you are happy with your ob then keep her, as you know they don't do a lot at the time of the birth. I think a Doula is by far your best option.

Hi Girls, quick one for me as the outlaws are here and staying the freaking night

Thanks for your reassurance re Maddie's weight. I think she looks so cute with her chubbiness, it just made me feel very paranoid iykwim. Not nice when someone makes comments like that, and Jazmum DP said exactly the same as you about people commenting on small babies too. Sherie I think you are right when you say people compare your child to their own.

Gracie & Falguni - Hope you are both doing well and finding time to rest/relax...if its at all possible hehe. Falguni sorry to hear about the ms you poor thing.

Jazmum - Enjoy the Miley movie!! I am a HM fan as well so can understand your excitment.

Trillian - Good on you for getting some bargains!

Must go sorry girls....will catch up asap

No H, it's not right that others feel the need to comment in such a way to make you feel bad. People just don't think sometimes. I hope your night with the IL's is going well

OK, you all have to measure the length of your babies feet and tell me how long they are. I forgot to say earlier that I got Alister a new pair of shoes now that he's walking because he needed ones with really flexible soles, so anyway the guy in the shoe shop measured them and said they were really long for his age - they are 12cm long! But I have no idea if that is really long or not because the other three all have really wide short feet so I can't compare them - I know at 3mths old when I did his prints for his baby book, they were 1cm longer than Lindsay's and nearly 2cm longer than the girls feet at the same age.

Trill, I just got out the tape measure and W's feet are 11cm. What was the name of that online store you got kids clothes at? W has outgrown most of his clothes and we aren't planning to go to civilisation for another 6 weeks so I thought I would order some online.

MM, I was looking at pics of Maddie on FB and she is a cutie. She is a bit chubby but certainly not one of those 'my 1 year old weighs 30kg' tabloid stories lol. My neice had the biggest bubba thunder thighs ever, now her mum has trouble finding clothes to fit her skinny waist so I don't think it is an indicator of how she will grow up.

MD, the lady across the road seemed nice, but not really my cup of tea. She is one of those people that spew out their entire life story within 5 minutes of meeting them.

Rainy, glad you are happy with your Ob. Hopefully you won't go so overdue this time around. That must have been really cute with L asleep on your DP's back.

Leanne, have a good time at Dreamworld. The boys are at a fantastic age to enjoy it now.

Pregpan, what is the birthday secret?

JaZaH, I talk about my online mother group sometimes. I think people think it is a bit weird, but it isn't like I am selling all my worldly goods and moving overseas to marry anyone.

Well the Carrot Carnival wasn't as exciting as I was anticipating lol. There was a bouncy thing that W might have liked but it was too cold to get him out of the pram. There wasn't a lot, just a few bake stalls, food vans and home made jewelry.

Yay for sisters that live in the big smoke!! Mine has ordered us a pink trike. Might not make K's birthday though - all that means is I get to buy her some other toys!

Trillian - will try measuring K's feet when she gets up. I've been thinking of getting her some shoes too.

Arte - sorry the festival wasn't as good as you were expecting. At least you got out and about though!

Well I went back to bed for a nanna nap this morning. Got up 3 hours later - must have been tired. Then DH took us out for lunch so I've had a pretty good day.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend.

    K's feet are 11.5cm long.

(I notice the cheeky little soles website has 6-12 month olds with 12.5 cm feet so A doesn't have huge ones)

Thanks for the reassurance on the feet LMAO. he is wearing some slippers that Lindsay didn't wear till he was well over 12mths old so I had no idea if he was normal or not.

Cally, WooHoo for getting the trike from your sister - you've had a great day all round then LOL. I got the 6-12mths size from cheeky little soles and they don't stay on his feet because they are too short - but they are the slippers and with the lining I suppose they are smaller on the inside. His shoe size was a 4.

Arte, it was gymboree.com that I got the stuff from. They have an excellent turn around - they only take a week to get here to me. LOL at you not going into civilisation for a while yet.

Yeah Rain, i hear ya loud and clear! I would've been booted out of birthing centre too at 38weeks when PE started, i was so happy i went private last time. I think due the 12th March, can't remember. A thursday anyway. Awwww lewis asleep on you dp's back sounds very cute. mmmmm ranges was nice.

Cally- That is bizarre they will rain check one color but not the other. At least red would be handy if you have a boy?!

MM- Thanks for your condolences re my MS. I don't get much sympathy around here, self inflicted and all! The full time nausea has set in again, i was hoping to just get normal in the morning kind of nausea, not 24/7. ah well, no point whinging! How'd you go with the outlaws?

Lu's feet are 11.5cm too. Maybe the dude was new to the shoe shop. Or another person who makes a comment to make a comment!

Arte: No carrot racing? Or carrot picking competition? What kind of carrot festival they running over there?! Bummer it was a let down. Did you at least get some homemade raspberry jam?
I went to a watermelon festival on our trip around oz. It was a bit of a hoot. They cut watermelons in half, it was a race you had to dig out the flesh and then put them on as shoes, and slip across some plastic with detergent on it. It was pretty funny, but it was lucky no-one broke a leg! Dh came second.

Cally- i am jelous of your nap!

We have to move house again. The other manager resigned so DH is picking up alot of his workload, so need to move more central to the other properties. The upside is the house is nice. The downside is we're further away from melb, AND i have to pack all this crap up AGAIN. We have moved so many times in the last 5 years it aint funny!

    Hi Girls!

R: glad the scan went well! it's breathtaking that first looksie! and yeah, with Leila, DH's first question was: how many????! (we have a couple of sets of twins on both sides...).
I didnt realise birth centres were so strict. i knew they were tricky to get into, but didnt realise they had time limits! hmm all the more trickier!

MM: i wouldnt worry about the weight either, as the others have said, they all grow at different rates. Leila is constantly being commented on because she is small, and i am always defending myself saying that she is a healthy eater etc etc. (she eats like a horse LOL!).

L: aww you are lucky! i went to buy the trike but they were all gone! went in on the friday, and it was completely decimated. not happy. bought a FP lawnmower thing, but so not as cool.

MD: the cot side thing has happened to us a couple a times now too. it is terrifying! and dont feel bad about it. it's just one of those slips, and she's alright! (in fact she's perfect, but you dont need me telling you that!)

Ange: bummer about the whole day m/s. i too had that with L, and it was the pits!
sorry to hear about more moving. i hear you on the crapness of it all. we have just moved to melbourne and it looks as though we may have to move to wollongong. i'm not impressed and am hoping it will all just go away and i live happily ever after here!! that something else turns up before january! so where are you moving to?

AFM: well i had an interesting day today. saw the belly belly pregnancy centre (YAY!). it is really awesome. they hold really awesome birth classes (very vocal!). sounds like fun and really community IYKWIM? DH and i went there for the pre and post natal emotional support group and it was really good. what a service! nice to know that we're not alone at the very least. they hold the group once a month, so i am glad that i get to go back there and check the stuff out. i highly recommend the services to anyone living in melbourne. i know that if i was UTD again, i would be going there, it seems so much more informative and 'real' than the poxy 5 classes that our hospital provided.

anyway best be off, DH is away again tomorrow and tuesday for work... so will get in some last minute cuddles!

hope the bubs sleep soundly tonight...
