Busy here - yesterday was preschool day and Alister and I went to our first Baby Bounce session at the library and it was so much fun! There were only 4 other mums there and Alister was the oldest - the others were 2x 6mths and 2 x 4mths and only one girl, but they are all really nice (two of them I already knew anyway) and it was great to have a cuppa and chat afterwards with them. You also get a resource book with all the stories and rhymes in it that you do in the session and the baby's all got a board book each to keep. He enjoyed it while we were singing, but trying to keep hold of him when we were just getting instruction was like trying to hang onto an octopus LMAO - arms and legs going everywhere!
Mum and I also checked out target, but we only have a small target country and they got bugger all in this year. All the DS bundles were sold out and they weren't raincheckable, but on ebay they have them for cheaper from the US anyway. They didn't have any pink smart trikes left, only 1 red one, but I didn't like that they had so much fabric on them - out here in the blistering heat during summer it would just fade and perish. I realised though when I saw it that that's what my sister got for my niece Leiah - she has mild cerebal palsy from birth and my sister thought it was great because she could strap her into it (Leiah doesn't have a lot of muscle strength so she can't sit unaided for long) and Leiah just loves it. So what I did get was the budget barbie camper bus for Paige which was $49.95 down from 99.95, one of those voice activated diaries for Erin which was the same price, a lego star wars battle ship for Lindsay and some duplo lego for Alister and some wooden thomas things for him.
Hayley, don't worry about M's size. Some people who are only used to seeing their own bubs will think that anything bigger or smaller than them is exaggeratingly bigger or smaller kwim? She's gorgeous as she is. Come the time they are 2yo you wont even be able to tell who was bigger or who was smaller.
G, glad the scan went well for you hun. Great news that your ob is cool with you feeding L. If you play it by ear for now he may wean on his own, or you may reach a point where you think you've had enough. If you want to tandem feed it wont be all that hard. Check out MummaB's thread on tandem feeding - she has a newborn now and is still feeding her 2yo DS - it might be helpful for you I think if you are happy with your ob then keep her, as you know they don't do a lot at the time of the birth. I think a Doula is by far your best option.
