Awesome News Md :)
Hi SupaB!!! Great to see you pop in. Sounds like you've been keeping yourself super busy :)
Hey Marydean, have been thinking about you. Maybe this Friday you should start soup night again? Alister is exactly the opposite with his food - starchy, heavier foods give him a belly ache, but fruit and greens (broccoli, spinach and peas) seem to be fine. Rice is OK too, as are oats. We did try him on a little bit of cheese once, but he didn't like it much LOL. I've got no idea how much he weighs to know if a diet change would affect it at all. I think his weight would stay the same regardless of what I gave him.
Pregpan, my nephew can't handle eating a lot of fruit - makes him virtually uncontrollable with his behaviour.
So much for DH going back to work - he spent the day in bed today and has now taken himself off to the hospital. He has a shocking cough and is really struggling to breathe. He's using his ventolin every hour and it only helps for about 10 minutes. Hopefully they can see him quickly and sort him out tonight. Fingers crossed they don't make him have a sleepover.
Snot bubbles - lots of them happening here! Especially when I take her away from the rubbish bin or playing in the bathroom and the crying starts. We are having full on tantrums too, head laying on the floor, arms flailing. Kind of funny to see her doing them!
Supa B - welcome back, I've got McLeods booked in to record on Wed night.
Pregpan - I am so not looking forward to the sicknesses that will come once she's at care, I'm sure N will be fine, he's just going through a rough patch.
We are getting the supertrike because it's a bit cheaper than the euro, more seat padding and I liked the colours more.
Rainy - have everything crossed there's only one in there!
Well going to go and watch something girly and snuggle up with the cat and a hot chocolate.
Hi again Girls!
As you can tell by my more than one a day posts DH is away LOL!! i can sit here as looonggg as i like!!
although am currently missing Big Brother so will keep it snappy he he he.
woot woo!!! great to hear from you MD!!! i was starting to think you had abandoned us! LOL! no nothing that drastic!!
poor wee thing being so sick. it really really sucks bum. no other way to describe it.
unfortunately if i had all that 'space' it would be full of crap still. we are living in the most bluddy narrow vic terrace known to mankind. things are just spewing from everywhere!
SupaB: welcome back! it has been AGES! ha ha, nothing like doing everything all at once!
Cally: oh dear! i hope that your DH is ok!! it sounds pretty intense. there are just soo many bugs going around ATM.
Rainy: ha ha! poor trav, he didnt stand a chance with you around! he was rather annoying though. i would like terri or ben to get it.
AFM: well it would appear that the tooth fairy has finally appeared for leila and has given her some teeth!! YAY!! the two bottom ones are battling it out for pole position ATM.
Also, dear stella is sick and i just spent a bomb at the vets....uuuurrghh. turns out she also has the flu. oh happy days!
Sorry for everyone that i have missed i can hear kyle in the background and need to get back to it!!
hi supab - everytime i see an ad for mcleods i think of you and wonder how you're going. glad you're doing well :)
cally - your poor dh - i hope he's ok.:(
clare - i hope Stella doesn't stay unwell for too long. When Ollie went back into the bb house tonight it made me cry. how cute is he!!!!!
md - i hope things settle at your house tonight. Poor little E.
re the trike - we're getting that one because we take the girls on bike rides, and it will be good to be able to push Hannah around on one also. When Zoe was little, i remember pushing her bike around with a big stick that we'd found - so she could keep up with Jess.
eta - yaayyy Terri!!!!!! I wouldn't have minded if Rory had won though - he did have a sensitive side.
Have to keep it short but want to give a shout out to a few people...
Rainy - Lmao at you wanting to slap Travis!! His voice makes me laugh I think he is so funny haha! Yes I know what you mean, when you hear other peoples sad stories it makes you smarten up and realise how lucky you are.
MD - Sorry to hear E has been sick and two docs have casually brushed off your worries. Has she improved at all?
Pregpan - Maddie has been exactly the same as Noah with sickness. I think once they get a bad bug their immune system is really weaked, and therefore they just pick up everything. Its really hard I know and you so arent doing anything wrong. Once Summer arrives N will fine again, I am forever crossing my fingers after daycare that M doesnt get sick. Its terrible isnt it. As for crawling, I cant exactly say M is crawling yet either, she kinda moves around in her own little way & rocks on all fours. N will get there eventually and you will wonder why you worried hehe. Otherwise as others have said maybe he will go straight to walking? I know it is hard when you see other bubs at the same age or even younger doing things your child isnt. From what we've all heard N is absolutely fine and developing really well, try not to worry hun he is 100% on track.
I'm off to bed as we are expecting a bad night. We had a shocker last night and discovered why the next morning, 4 teeth are coming through at once!!! The top two and the ones on either side. M also has a raised rash all over her legs and arms and has had it since this morning, I'm a tad worried but she seems very happy still. We are just keeping a close eye on her for now.
Hope you are all well ladies!
Oh H, how is M this morning? I hope last night wasn't as bad as you thought it would be. Poor little girl, I hope they come through soon.
Hey Jaz, you make do with what you have don't you LOL? We tossed up getting one of those for our kids, but never got round to doing it. MIL brought one for over at her place for them to use though.
Clare, I'm like that too when Dh is working LOL, bit norti isn't it? ;) And YAY for Miss L getting a visit from the tooth fairy at last! I hope Stella gets well soon :( poor doggie.
Cally! How worrying for him. How did he go at the hospital?
I am happy to report that I have my right ear back again LOL. It isn't quite 100% normal, but the swelling is all but gone now. So I don't think I'll need the second lot of abs luckily.
Am at a loss as to what to do today, I thought Dh would be home because his shift ended yesterday, but he has gone in again today for an extra because it was a pretty sweet one with him being in the crane all day (yep, my DH is a man of many talents LOL - he can drive cranes too) and he loves doing crane work. I got nearly everything done yesterday so today we could just faff around doing not much at all, so now I will just have to faff around by myself LMAO.
Trillian - have fun faffing around! Glad your ear is back to normal.
The hospital stuck the nebuliser on DH and gave him some drugs and he is able to breathe a lot easier now, although definitely not back to normal. I think he is cancelling his GP appt now (naughty boy!). DD and I are heading into town this morning for mothers group and some shopping so he can try and catch up on some more sleep.
MM - how did last night go? Poor little thing, 4 teeth at once!!
Clare - yay for L getting teeth!! Hope Stella is getting better.
ETA - he changed his appt to an earlier one because 3:15 is his usual nap time (at least he is still going)
Ahhh, Can't have him miss out on nap time LOL. He would need a nanna nap today though poor guy. Glad to hear he is a little better.
sorry guys i am not being a good baby buddy atm!! just not keeping up anymore!
we found our new car which is great and we picked it up yesterday.. we got a 98 honda civic sedan its very nice and we got enough in the loan to get comprehensive insuance this time which is a load off our mind!! we also paid a huge chunk of my credit card and are switching banks over to NAB which is who we got the loan with because they offered us all these benefits.. they offered us a balance transfer on the rest of the stgeorge credit card debt with no intereston it for 6mths so we can pay that off a bit and the interest when it does start charging is actually slightly less than i pay with stgeorge.. we also opened a joint bank account with all these benefits (they gave us gold cards) so u get extended warranty on anything u buy with it, travel insurance if u purchase travel on it and no atm fees at all including non NAB atms so that will all save us some money too...
ive been really at my witts end with asha lately ive just been cutting corners alot so i can have a break.. i feel bad about it but i dont feel like i can do any better.. was thinking about putting her in daycare for one day a week so i can have a rest but then i just think about how much i didnt like childcare when i worked there and it puts me off.. atm i have switched to mini weets cereal so i can just sit her in the high chair and it dosnt make that much mess.. it was suppoised to be an every couple of days thing but shes had it the last few days.. also i got out my friends travel cot and filled it with toys and put her in there when i was cleaning (i used to go on about how much i hated playpens when i was pregnant and how i was never gonna have one) but she stayed there for like an hour quite happily... ahhh idk i just feel a bit guilty atm i think...
cally - hope dh gets better asap!! hope your day out is nice too!
Trillian - glad your ear is better.. have a good day faffing around! weve been so busy lately i wish i could have a day like that lol but the washing pile is taller than i am atm!!!
mm- oh poor thing 4 teeth at once!! one tooth is bad enough! have u seen a gp about the rash? could be an allergy maybe?
jazmum - haha pushing the bike around with a big stick now thats improvisation!!
cassius - poor stella hope she gets better asap!! its hard when pets are sick.
supab - great to see you popping on!!
pregpan - maybe its all the natural sugar in the fruit?
anyways hello to anyone i missed gotta go retrieve the mini wheets that are on the floor lol... atleast the floor is pretty clean!
Hey Spunky Mumma's,
SupaB- :hello: I am glad all is well.
Cally- Glad DH is doing better now
Sherie- Good to hear your ear is better now. Enjoy your mumma time today.
MM- Hope your night last night was ok.
Jazmum- I am glad Terri won too.
We are all good DH left at 4.30 this morning for an overnighter in Emerald.
My Little brother is 22 today...
Noni, I think the playpen is a great idea if you need to get stuff done without her under your feet because you will get more done that way. And don't worry too much about taking the easier path - god knows I do it sometimes to save time or my sanity LOL
oooohh Leanne, I like being called a spunky mummy ;)
Noni, hun no need to feel guilty, sounds like you're doing a wonderful job! Lots of mummies get a lot of extra help from family members, their partners, regular child care arrangements - so when you don't have any of that it's pretty normal that you feel like you're struggling from time to time. Re the portacot - do what works, I say! If she's happy in there, then good. (I think they like it cos it's like a little cubby hole - I keep toys in there that E only plays with in there so it's like a treat LOL). Re the CC thing, have you thought about FDC...she'd love one day a week in a different environment (more toys to explore) and plus you get to choose a carer who actually cares, kwim?
Trill, glad you've got your ear back. Enjoy your day of Faffing. I usually do it the other way around. Faff all day first then confront the domestic disaster the following day LOL. Aaah, had a faffing day yesterday which means today's DomDis Day...really I'm still in denial about DH being away I think.
Cally, hope your DH is better, sounds awful.
MM how's M today? Did you get any sleep?
Clare, well we had BB on last night too, it was actually a bit of an anticlimax. We enjoyed it so much this year I kind of wished I'd started watching it in earlier years LOL. I only saw bits of the 1st 2, then last year and this year.
Rainy I thought of you when my sis rang up last night to tell me she got Foxtel IQ on! AAAH what am I going to do with my life now BB is over? LOL No point signing up for Foxtel now since it takes a couple of months to get it on and then we'll be leaving. I'm looking at signing up for Bigpond DVDs and getting some telly that way since I can't be bothered working out how to download it for free (plus my dinosaur computer can't cope LOL).
Well E is still snotty and grumpy enough today to stop me from going out to my ladies' group...better go and confront reality in the form of my DomDis I suppose...
Hi Yummy Mummies
Well thanks for all the reassurance yesterday - was feeling a bit down on myself - and i think sickness always seems worse at night etc so i was worried about him. But I know now it is just one of those things and he will get through it all and be fine... the 1st winter and in day care i guess i should have expected the worst!! he slept better last night - not great but better - and he is def better today than he was yesterday. I am off to melb tomorrow so mum can help me and it will be better i think. Anyway thanks you all made me feel a lot better!!
Sherie - so glad the ear is better - sounded awful!!! have a fun day faffing around. i have so many errands to do tonight after work and n in bed ot get ready to go... my house is a pig sty!!
MD - I hope E feels better soon, bummer to miss mums group
Noni - do it, if it will give you some time and space then get some helo if you can afford it. I really recommend FDC but also if you have time to spare you may find acentre that you are happy with. and dont feel guilty about popping herin the porta cot, she prob LOVES it!
Hayley - how is Maddie today? did the rash clear up?
Arte - what did the doc say?
Rainy - how are you feeling?
Cally - how is DH, sounded awful! LOL about his nap time!!! when are you going back to work and how are you feeling about it?
Leeanne - I dont know how u manage 3 with DH away. you amaze me!
Clare - how are L's teeth going?
OK better go, work is winking at me andi would love to get N early.
back later
xxx
ps quite impressed how many personals i did LOL!!!
just a quick one are any of ur bubs frightened by loud noises? lately asha really screams if she hears something loud?? like i drop something on the wooden floors or the other day dps mum coughed really loudly and she started screaming???
Noni, Lindsay hated loud noises and it still bothers him a little bit even now. He would freak out bigtime at the vacuum and god help us if we took him to a tractor pull or the races or something else really loud. He is only just able to deal with being near the machinery around here when it is started. Some kids are just more sensitive to noise than others.
Pregpan, glad N had a better night. And yep, sick children always seem a bit worse at night, especially when it is cold. Definately let your Mum take care of YOU a bit too.
Marydean, I did Bigpond movies once during the summer holidays last year and it was great - order them and they post them out. I was sneaky though and signed up during a 6wk free trial and then cancelled it at the end of the holidays. So the kids got to see all the latest movies for nothing and kept me sane when it was too hot for them to go outside LOL.
Noni, W doesn't seem to be scared of loud noises but he is getting shy around strangers atm. Don't feel bad about the portacot thing, that is what they are made for so I guess loads of people do it. If she is happy in there then it is all good.
Cally, my DH gets asthma too. It is a PITA. He always runs out of inhaler and keeps me awake at night. He has been better lately though, he needs it quite a bit here because it is cold. Hope he is feeling better.
Sherie, I am like MD, putting off all the domestic stuff as long as I can lol. Hope you find something constructive to do with your time
MM, how is Maddie? Could the rash be hives? Has she had anything new to eat or have you changed washing powder?
Clare, hope those teeth come up soon for L. Bummer about Stella. Did you end up getting a behaviourist re the snapping?
The doctor went well (besides the hour long wait). He is completely healthy but the doctor pointed out some eczema on his face that I didn't even notice lol It is a bit rough and bumpy but I thought it was something to do with his red teething cheeks. The builders aren't here today so thankfully he is getting his good big sleep after playcenter.
Noni, I remember being very sensitive to loud noises when I was a child, my ears would literally hurt (it was not a fear thing but a pain thing). So maybe A has very sensitive ears as well!
Arte, did the dr give you some cream or just tell you to use some moisturiser on it? I kwym about the builders, I hate it when the repairman comes, I hate having strangers in my space. The noise factor makes it a zillion times worse. Are you settling into the local social scene now?
Trill, I have looked at the price and it really doesn't seem very much (if I understand it right) given you can pay a fortune for overnight use only at the video shop and even then the one you want is usually all out!
Hello Girls!
Wow it's been busy on here today! i always miss heaps on the day i have mum's group!!
Noni: man, i have to say that i really appreciate the days that i HAVE with leila AND the days that she is at CC! it gives me a chance to enjoy the time i have with her more and the time she is away is time for me. DH and I use one friday a fortnight when is in care for 'couple day'. we go to the movies, have a bath and basically just lounge around. i love it and i think it is great for leila as she has refreshed parents for the W/E IYKWIM?
also re the loud noises some of the mums just today were mentioning that their bubs were starting to be 'scared' of loud stuff and would scream hysterically. maybe it's an age thing?
Pregpan: glad to hear the little Noah is on the mend. i hear you the nights being the worst! at least during the day we have the distraction of activities but at night and with the cold setting in, everything is exacerbated. i know that this week that i have been sick i dreaded the nights as my throat hurt more and exhaustion would just set in.
And for what it's worth, i just bought leila some brauer 'recovery tonic' to help boost her system as she has been hit with a swag of boogies and germs. maybe N could try something like that to help his system recover???
Arte: yeah i am hoping they dont take too long. both the bottom ones are competing to come through first. they are almost there...just bought some weleda teething powder and that seems to have calmed things down a bit.
we are still waiting on a spot with the behaviour guy. he specialises in the breed (maremma) that we are pretty sure stella is a cross with. but i went to the vet (for her cough yesterday) and there are group activity sessions in the local park for the doggies, and i think that it may be fun for her and get her more used to strange situations. (i think she is in too much of a rut!! LOL!)
what did the dr say to do about the eczema? i remember having it pretty bad as a kid and had to cut down on milk stuff. but then when i hit the teenage years it disappeared! weird stuff!
(just an update: leila has just found a banana in her nappy bag, peeled it and is now laughing hysterically at how smart she is while stuffing the whole thing in her face!)
MD: yeah i thought the ending was pretty badly orchestrated. there were more than 30secs there where things just weren't happening and i dont find staring at the back of terri's head, all that exciting television! LOL! i watched a bit of every season. and watched the whole first one as i was a first year media student and it was required as part of our course work! aahhh i LOVED those BB lectures!!
Leanne: i find it really weird when they leave so early in the morning. my DH does the same when he goes to wollongong. i am contemplating if it would be better for him to leave the night before as the morning is always hectic and he invariably wakes L up...hhmmm
Cally: glad your DH is ok!
AFM: well same old same old. leila is ready to burst two teeth. is anyone elses bubs really destructive?? leila loves bashing things, tearing things and throwing things ATM. i am finding it a real PITA as the other day she threw her tommee tippee and broke it, and with the price they charge for them i was not happy!
oh and we picked up some bargains on sunday: i LOVE melbourne for this reason...we went to the PureBaby wharehouse sale!!!!! it was so frikkin awesome!!! i bought truckloads of stuff including twin sets for $10, gorgeous frocks for $8 and countless cardigans and onesies for $8-10!!! i bought up the bigger sizes for summer and am feeling rather proud of myself!!
anyway best dash as Destro-baby is unimpressed. :)
hi everyone!
wow clare sounds like Miss L is going through a v intense stage - not the nice little sleepy bubba i met at coffee!! aah but it is so wonderful to watch them develop and learn about the world around them isnt it. I love your idea about couples day - a great plan, we get a babysitter every few sat nights and go out, and have decided to do this once a fortnight from here on, i think it is really important. i wish we could have a day tho ,that sounds wonderful and relaxing - whereas sometimes on a sat i would prefer to sleep LOL!
well mr N has not had a good day - brought him home from FDC at lunch as he was not drinking and had a temp and had been miserable... he still is. he has thrown up a few times so of course i am concerned but i think he will be ok. i am taking himto melb tomorrow so mum can help me, and also so i can go to work.... i hope he is ok.
oh no i hear him waking - better go in to him.
back later
Pregpan, where/how did you go about finding a babysitter...I'm up with the FDC but I've never actually looked for a babysitter per se. Sorry to hear N is not well again.
C, I'm so jealous of your sunday shopping trip! Oh I'd love to have a couple day, we usually do them every so often but the timing was wrong for about 6 weeks before DH left, there was a SINGLE day he could've taken about 4 weeks ago but he organised some stupid thing for work instead (*stamps foot*). Now it'll be 3 months (and counting)...!
Just got him back down.... i hope i am not in for a hell night!!!
MD I found my babysitter when i was looking for a nanny - but i know she also gets jobs through findababysitter dot com dot au. a lot of my friends have found sitters through there. also some friends have advertised at the university job services here and found good people. my fdc lady is also willing to do some sitting for me if we need it, though i think she has a more active social life than me LOL!
ok better go - soooo much domestic stuff to do before i go to melb tomorrow. and oh no i think i hear him waking again!!!
It looks as though Pregpan and i will be doing the midnight madness with the kids tonight...the two bottom teeth are giving leila a run for her patience. she has woken twice since 6.45pm...bwaaawwwww! no fair!
yeah, have to say that we are pretty lucky having every second friday. it gives us a nice chance to just be us. sometimes we don't do much and head straight home from dropping her off and go back to bed (for sleep!! LOL!! oh, gone are the days of lunch time quickie, sorry if TMI!! LOL!).
Pregpan: yeah i am just loving her at this stage. i am finding it really fun to hang out with her and watch her play with her friends when we go out. it's just so cool! i just wish our families could be around to see it too. they miss so much!
MD: ahh the shopping trip was great! despite his best protestations, DH actually likes shopping. and when we go together it is a crazy experience and i am the one reeling us back in. i rarely take him with me to ikea, otherwise we would end up with the place in our backseat.
just a quickie from me
re: destructiveness....well......our laptop now has no spacebar.lewis ripped it off!! makes it very hard to type
bachelor girls- did you know there is a series on channel 9 right now 12pm weekdays. i'm taping it on my foxtel iq (put that in there just for you md)
Pregpan - Oh no hope you dont have too bad a night with N. The poor thing, it will be nice to have your mum help out. You need a break! I always find Maddie is worse at night when she is sick.
Clare - Hope those two bottom teeth come through quickly for Leila. I love your couple day idea as well, and I agree daycare is so worth it if makes you refreshed & better, more patient parents. Everyone needs a break now & then. Uh oh L sounds like she is into everything, so cute, wonderful age isnt it.
Rainy - LMAO sorry all your posts lately have been hillarious. Little Lewis you terror child hehehe. Sorry I just found that so funny!
MD - The 3 months will go quickly for you!
Arte - Glad to hear W is doing well, this excema seems to be so common! I have found sorbolene to work quite well on M's excema.
Noni - Yep M has had a few freak outs at loud noises. With daycare, I was so worried about putting M in daycare at first, you can probably remember, but now we are both settled in, its great it really is. If you choose a high quality center I dont think you have much to worry about. The girls at M's daycare are fantastic! Even though I am at work on those days, its my release, I get to gossip with the girls & do my own thing. Then when I pick Maddie up I am refreshed & excited to see her kwim? Its completely normal to need a break now & then. Look into FDC like others have suggested. Otherwise can you have a set day where your mum takes her? Grandparents love that!
Trillian - Hope you had fun faffing about hehehe, never heard that word before! Glad to hear you arent looking like the elephants love child anymore or however it was that you explained it? lmao.
Leemar - Wow your little bro is 22 today! Happy bday to him!
Thanks for asking about Maddie everyone! Last night wasnt as bad as we predicted, DP and I were ready for a shocker of a night, but she was only up at 1 & 4am and all she needed each time was a little shh, dummy & bonjela. I dream fed her a 60ml bottle at 10ish with nurofen in it, so that gave her the 8 hrs pain free I guess. The two fronties have broken through & the fangy ones on either side are bulging like no tomorrow. So far tonight she's been perfect & I havent had to give her any medication..yet lol. As for the rash, its still there & we were both a bit worried tonight, it isnt causing her problems, like it isnt itchy & she is 100% happy. So I called that 1800 health number to see what they said & they didnt seem to think it was anything serious, if its still there tomorrow or if it worsens they advised me to get her looked at. Anyway we are starting swimming lessons tomorrow....wish me luck with my disgusting bright white legs HAHA!
goodmorning everyone
we had a sleep in this morning :) well a lay in anyway hehe
well i went and looked at the local childcare centre and it just didnt feel right.. all the girls were very young and i just didnt feel sure.. i have nothing against there being young employes i mean everyone has to start somewhere but they need someone to learn from too iykwim? the two people in the babies room were only certificate 3 trained including the roomleader which i wasnt really impressed with because there should be atleast one diploma trained person in the room helping with programing etc.. maybe i am just being picky i mean i only have a cert 3 but i just didnt feel good about them..
anyway aftergoing away from it and thinking for a bit i ended up ringing my mum and she has more days off than i thought so we are going to start with her taking asha once a fortnight for a few hours so i can have some time to myself :)
mm - glad you had an ok night considering the teething.. hope they pop through asap!
rain - i did see that yesterday the batchelor lol 2 hour special.. i dont usually watch it but it wasnt bad hehe.. as for destructivness asha likes to get into things like that too..
cassius - that sounds so nice having every second friday with ur dp!! i am jelous! no way she peeled a banana what a clever little thing!!
md - thats interesting re the sensitive ears thing.. is there any way to find that out or just have to wait untill she can tell me i spose?
trillian - asha cried when i put the vaccum on too and with the lawn mower.. she actually seemed scared with those clinging on for dear life lol
hello everyone else hope you all have a lovely day!!!
Hellooooo everybodyyyyyyyyyy!! (that was said in my Grover from Sesame Street voice)
I'm feeling great!!!! My house is clean! wooohoooo. I had a Diva Cosmetics party here yesterday and had 8 friends over, so had to do a big clean.
This company has all natural products - and has one which is good for eczema and other skin conditions. I'm buying a foundation that is all natural as well.
mm - i hope swimming goes well for you today. How did Maddie sleep last night?
Is the rash raised? Have you changed washing powders or anything recently?
rainy - I'm going to have to check out the bachelor!! I love my reality tv. (not that it's that real lol)
pregpan and clare - how was your night?
md - How is E feeling today?
I've started having singing time with Hannah - She loves 'der glumph' and "heads, shoulders knees and toes". Showed me how unfit i was though, because i was puffed after that one!!! I'm going to start 'Row your Boat' with her today - i love that one - especially when it's time to scream!lol.
eta hi noni - that's fantastic news that your Mum is going to look after Asha once a fortnight. You'll have to think of something nice to do for yourself on those days (maybe catch up on sleep?)
Jazmum - Lmao at your grover voice!!! Der glumph, is that the frog one? I sing that one to Maddie but I think I have the wording wrong!! I havent changed washing powder and I havent fed her anything she hasnt had before, so I'm a bit stumped. It has gone down alot today though. I might go to the doc this arvo.
Noni - Yay thats great that your mum is helping out! Well for starters thats wrong of the childcare center as by law they have to have at least one fully qualifed caregiver (diploma or uni degree) in the room.
Well I am very impressed considering the state of M's gums at the moment, as we had another decent night of sleep. Such a good girl. Anyway we are off to swimming this morning, whipped out a bit of bronzer for my bright white legs, but it'll wash off in the pool anyway lol.
Happy Birthday Pregpan  (hope I got it right this time).
Noni, that is cool that your mum is taking Asha, it will be great for all of you. I am starting to feel like I could do with a break but there is no one here that can take him. I have had a few people offer to babysit, but I am not going to leave him with people I don't know (DH's bosses kids and lady across the road I have met once).
JaZaH, I do row,row row your boat with Will, he grabs my hands and pushes them back and forward like oars now, it is really cute.
MM, glad you had a good night with M. Will has been a grumpy bum for the last few days, it is hard when they just follow and whinge all the time.
Clare, W is also destructive and into EVERYTHING. I just caught him dunking his little people car in the dog water :wall:
I definitely think toddlers are much harder than babies.
Hi Girls,
Prepan-:happybirthday: Hope you have a wonderful day
Art- I am glad W is ok.
MM- I am so glad you had a good night sleep. Have fun at swimming
Jazmum- Olivia loves songs too. lol
Noni- Thats great your mum will have Asha to give you some mumma time.
Oh DH rang me last night to tell me he had an accident. He is ok with no injury's thank god although he had to get another hire car today. I will be happy when I see him tonight.
Hello to eveyone.
Just a quick one.....
HUGE hugs for Leanne! I wouldn't feel right until I was holding him if I were you. Glad to hear he is OK, but tonight I think you might need a rum....;)
Hi Girls!
Well i have left Dh and leila at home together and have snuck into the office to do some 'work' (ie get on BB!!).
we had a bit of a night last night, leila would wake up for a quick cry every 1.5-2 hours, she wouldnt need us to go in, but it was pretty tiring and emotionally exhausting. she woke properly at 4am so i went in armed with panadol and booby, and that did the trick until 6.30. those teeth are soooo close. i can feel the sharpness already, and yet, they just havent gotten through...
OMG Pregpan: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hip hip hooray!!!!:dance:
Leanne: oh jeez! that's pretty scary about the accident. glad he is ok!
Arte: LOL! i think W sounds like a little champ! you know, i have to say that i am finding this age waayyy easier than the newborn days...i was so overwhelmed with the sleep deprivation that i couldnt make sense of the days or nights lol! although that said, being woken up in the morning to my daughter bashing her tupperware rattle on the walls as she slowly crawls down the hall towards my room is less than appealing!
MM: yep, can relate! we are off to swimming on monday, and i feel really sorry for the other patrons. i am sooooo white, almost see-through! not to mention post baby body. i am soo not channelling angelina jolie in the bounce back stakes! LOL!
JaZMum: sounds like you two are having a blast ATM! IKWYM about the fitness thing. i did the 'old duke of york' song with leila this morning and i swear that i thought my heart was going to explode. i might have to do that song a few times a day to build up the biceps.
Noni: IKWYM about getting the right vibe. have you looked into Family Day Care as quite a few of the lovely ladies on here use it and swear by it. it is also a more family environment, and you are garuanteed to have continuity of care.
Rainy: oohh yes! leila loves the laptop. i had to politely inform her that thumping her tupperware rattle across the keys was NOT as much fun as she was making out. but i secretly loved her for it as it ended up in a fit of tickles and giggles on the floor...i know i'll miss those moments when she becomes a snot faced teenager cutting her school skirt ridiculously short...
:happybirthday: Pregpan - wishing you a wonderful day~~!!
Thanks also for the babysitting finding tips. We always just used our FDC lady when DD1 was little but now that I've got my girls going to different ones it's a bit trickier. Although I think DD1's FDC lady might have E occasionally once she turns 1.
JaZaH, we've started singing too, dug out some old Playschool DVDs (couldn't believe how many songs I'd forgotten LOL). E loves "if you're happy and you know it" (because she can clap) and "Five little ducks went out one day" and also "Der Glumph"! Suuuuch good fun.
E is much better today, except for the bit where she CHOKED on some carpet fluff from the bit where the carpet joins have come apart. We asked them to repair it last year and they wouldn't (replacing it when we leave, that'd be right) but now they have to do something.
Leanne big hugs - I'm glad your DH is ok. Bummer about the hire car, they are always a pain.
Rainy thanks for the heads up on Bachelor. I will tape it on my harddrive-you-tape-on-when-you-don't-have-IQ ;). LOL I've been glued to Dr Phil cos he's covering the weird polygamy sect in Texas, and I have a secret fascination for ppl who chose to live in unorthodox family arrangements.
Noni, yay for your one day a fortnight, I can guarantee you're going to want a day a week once you start because you'll get addicted to that 'me' time! I'm hanging out for E to go to care tmrw, it's been 4 weeks since I've had baby-free time!
Arte, are the ppl across the road nice? Do you think you might end up spending more time with them?
Clare, LOL at you sneaking away to do some "work". Hope those toothies pop right through.
MM, glad M is sleeping better, it's always such a relief when you're anticipating a horrible night then it doesn't happen.
I was wondering what everyone does with their fingerfood. eg Bananas, do you cut them up or do you just hand it over? E is such a little piggy she just crams whatever into her mouth. I'm torn between letting her cram so that she learns not to do it and not letting her cram in case she really chokes. Likewise, not sure how to tackle sandwiches, toast, etc ...small pieces or give a bigger piece so she can get bits off it herself. AAAH it was never this tricky with DD1!
Happy bday to Pregpan!
Leanne - Oh no how scary. Glad he is safe and sound and coming back tonight. Is this the Las Vegas trip?
Arte - Aww Will loves the dog water doesnt he!
MD - Oh that choking incident is scary! They better do something about it now. Re finger food, I break bananas in half so she can hold one end and munch the other. Toast/sandwiches I cut into triangles and let her eat away, always keeping a close eye of course, but I'm certainly not as paranoid about it as I once was hehe. M doesnt tend to cram though so I can understand your worry about that.
Need some advice girls, the rash on M has gone red again and she feels so bumpy. Apart from that she is fine and happy. I rang the doc but they cant get me in at all today unless there is a cancellation but I'm not holding my breath on that one. What else can I do? If it was something seriously nasty it would have developed further than what its at by now right? She has had it since Mon morning. Should I be a paranoid mummy & go into town to the hospital or just wait it out? My gut feeling is that its nothing serious, but on the other hand I'm not a doctor and I'd hate to sit back & not do anything if it needs attending to kwim?
Btw she loved swimming!
MM - I'd ring the dr's surgery and keep asking if there's a cancellation, stress that it's for a baby and there's a rash and you are worried, they should do something to fit you in. IF they say there hasn't been a cancellation, ask to speak to the dr yourself (on the ph). Drs usually can squeeze another slot in if there's any concern there.
ETA - it doesn't sound so serious but you are worried and shouldn't have to spend another 24 hrs worrying, kwim?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Pregpan!!!!! I hope you are having a great day with your boys :)
H, that sounds like a reaction to something for it to come up, settle and then come up again. How many times has she been swimming? Do you thnk it could be the pool chlorine?
Marydean, with Bananas, I break a piece off, then split it into three, following the way it's meant to naturally split kwim? I don't cut it because it makes it too slippery for him to pick up and it tends to stick to the bowl. Apple I will cut in fingers, sandwiches I cut into soliders.
Clare, lets hope that by tomorrow they will be all the way through for her.
Alister is being sooo clingy today. I feel like I still have the unbilical cord attached LOL. he is a little bit off his food too, so not sure if it's teeth, he's getting sick or if he is just having a crap day. He is having a sleep now though so hopefully he will be in a better mood when he wakes up.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PREGPAN!!!
sorry i missed that earlier
Happy Birthday Pregpan!!!!!!!! I hope N sleeps well for you tonight.
sherie - i hope A isn't coming down with something. It makes it hard to get things done when they're clingy :
off to give the girls bed time snuggles - bbl.
mm - have you done the glass test on M's rash? ie put a glass on the rash, if it disappears it is generally viral.
another question - has she worn any new clothes recently?
hey there beautiful ladies,
Pregpan wishing you a very happy birthday. I hope you got spoilt with lots of hugs and kisses.
Sorry for the selfish post I dont have a lot of time to write at the moment but just wanted to say I am very excited because I just got my smart trike and have put it together. Logan loves it. I have a friend who's son works at target so he got it early and got a staff discount. I am praying it doesnt rain tomorrow so we can go for a walk. I will upload a pic to my gallery.
I promise to try and catch up with tomorrow.
Katie - Love the pic of Logan on his smart trike! How cool. Are they like the ones that you can push around?
Jazmum - Ohhhh OMG Jazmum I think you have solved the mystery rash for me!? I had her in a dress she has never worn before on Sunday, and it hadnt been washed, it was brand new & I remember taking the price tag off it. Oh god I feel so bad now. 99% of the time I was new clothes before she wears them but I didnt with this one. Must be that because we noticed the rash on Mon morning! Although I have put her in brand new unwashed clothes once or twice before and no reaction? Anyway I didnt take her to the doc, she had a big sleep & when she woke it was alot better, so its improving. Wow how does the glass test work?
Trillian - Oh no hope Alister is doing ok & isnt getting sick. Maybe he just wants extra mummy cuddles hehe. No this was her first time in chlorine today.
MD - Thanks for your advice. I decided to wait until she woke up from her nap & decide what to do then. Luckily it had gone down heaps, so I'm just keeping an eye on her. Besides I think Jazmum has solved the mystery!
