hi girls, sorry i've been so mia

big happy birthdays to our 'big' 'grown up' babies- Olivia, Logan and Hannah. congrats to you all for your first year, and thanks girls for sharing the journey with us

md- that half a week sounds like the straw that broke the camel's back to me. you poor thing. dp and i used to have a long distance relationship, so i know the heartache of being away from your loved one for long periods. it's a killer...thankfully he moved down to melbourne and has been whinging about how cold he is ever since

clare- i thought you guys were moving to the gong? have i gotten confused somewhere? i'm blaming pg brain. yes i know what you mean about melb house prices. lately we had been talking about moving- but once we started actually looking we decided to stay right where we are thank you very much. instead we're just going to make some improvements on our house.

arte- aahhh sleeping. well, um i actually took a lot of your advice, in that he is always put to bed between 7-8pm, and once he is in there, he doesn't come out. even if i have to go in there and shove a boob in his mouth 3 times before midnight, i don't care. i think i was putting him to bed too early before -6.30ish, so now sometimes he doesn't go till 8pm. he always wears his sleeping bag, has a lullaby cd playing and hugs morris the blue sea turtle (dp named him). we leave a bar heater going in there so he's nice and warm. he still wakes but he does much longer stints now, 4-7 hours instead of 1-2. it's much better

i've just called up a doula but she was in a meeting so she said she'll call me back this arvo. already i like the sound of her better than the last one i called, who never called me back btw!!! so hopefully this one suits my needs and we can come to an arrangement.

Rainy, housing in the gong is just as exxy as it is everywhere else. Hehe about your DH whinging about how cold he is, all the better to snuggle up to his toasty PG lady, I reckon!! Soooo pleased to hear the sleeping is working better at your house, I bet you feel like a changed woman.

Cinta love the idea of the leaning tower of cupcakes, ah if only I could perfect my cupcakes. Mine always turn out wonky and there's always some where the batter has oozed out the top. You'll have to post a pic of the cake your cousin dees.

Noni, love your party food ideas, esp the sunflowers! That'll look great.

Clare, you could always move to Adel, plenty of affordable housing there still... See you there in the new year, how about it???

Thanks everyone for your words of support. Tried to talk to DH about it last night but he's so far out there in army land he's forgotten how to communicate like a normal human being and it just made me even sh*ttier. It happens every time, they switch off the more evolved part of themselves and start acting like apes with guns. (*sigh*) Sorry for the vent, ladies, but you know you all keep me sane. s to everyone.

LOL, Ozstar Happy Birthday to Logan for Wednesday

Clare, come over here! Melbornites would be able to buy mansions in rural NZ! Happy Birthday to Leila if I am not on tomorrow!!!

MD, sorry your DH has gone from SNAG to PITA after a month surrounded by army guys.

Rainy, glad that L's sleep is so much better, I would dream of 6-7 hours if I slept long enough to actually dream lol Hope this doula works out for you.

Cinta, I have seen a wedding cake made out of a cupcake pyramid, it looked fantastic!

JaZaH, hope Zoe enjoyed her birthday presents

Cally, we probably aren't doing a party but when we have birthday morning tea at playcentre I usually let him eat a biscuit or two after his normal food. He even had some twisties the other week, loved them! I figure a bit of junk every once in a while won't hurt.

Gee, this time last year we were renovating our kitchen lol, I managed to paint the entire room with my big belly hanging out. I remember logging on every day to see if anyone had popped overnight! It is a bit trippy to see the new Babies Born Sept 08 threads starting!

I am going down to mums for a few days so might not get on much so HAPPY BIRTHDAY to anyone I might miss.
