hi everyone
sorry have been rather MIA - have had a reeally busy time at work. and now DH is sick so looking after him too.. poor guy has a bad flu
MM - I saw heaps of Oobi (girls ) stuff at kids central in chadstone the other day - so that could be a good bet... i wish they had more boys stuff, it is so boring with boys clothes. just bought N a whole heap of 'basics' from american apparel - looks great and comfy so good for day care days and around the house. he also needs some more groovy stuff though - but i am a mad shopper so i must admit he has quite a bit!
Katie - so great the molars came through without too much trouble, i need to check N too but he wont let me get close to his mouth - has been madly drooling for about 3 wks now so i am guessing there must be some action happening on the teething front.
Ange - so glad scan went well. cheeky you!!

Clare - Wow didnt know collette dinnigan did baby clothing, far out. Leila must be the best dressed bub on the street! The snazziest we have is baby gap and even then the items were bought by her grandparents when they went to London not long ago.

Pregpan - Thanks I'll check out kids central when I go. Is Chadstone anywhere near Parahn??? Thats where we are staying. Oh no sorry to hear N is sick, M seems to be forever sick as well, its daycare. Sucks doesnt it.

Just took M for her 12 month needles, and she screamed the surgery down, poor thing.

Trust me H, Chadstone is worth the drive to go shopping there. When I was visiting my sister in April last year I spent 6hrs there shopping LMAO. They have an Esprit Kids shop too - far too easy to spend a ****e load of money.

Ange, that's great news about the scan. Did you not want to find out or was bubs not co-operating?

Clare, are you SERIOUS about the Collette Dinigan? Who pays that much money for baby clothes! *wanders off scratching her head pondering this* LOL.

I tell ya, if someone came and offered to take Alister away I would gladly accept their offer today! The little monster keeps getting up onto the dining table and there is no where safe that the kids can eat cause he climbs up and gets their food. Even when you take the other chairs away he climbs up on their chair. He's already fallen off the table 3 times today alone. The house looks like a bomb went off cause he's uncleaning as fast as I am cleaning it up. I feel so stressed LOL.

Hugs Trill, the dining table must be scary! Oh well at least he'll have a good head for heights when he's older, there's a whole world of activities awaiting those who love to climb (ie NOT me). Also, sorry but I gotta LOL at "uncleaning" . That is such a good word to describe what I call the relentless tide. :lol:

MM - poor Maddie, hope she's feeling better. Gotta get E's done soon, I've already had The Letter to remind me! Re the milk, IMO the toddler stuff is totally not necessary, it exists solely so the formula companies can advertise their product without actually advertising "real" formula. I'd give it a miss and concentrate on introducing a big variety of interesting food plus regular dairy. And I meant to say, re your Krudd money, just slap it into your mortgage, then redraw it later if he says he wants it back, then you've saved interest in the meantime. Money for nothing!

Ange, yay on the scan, I was thinking of you yesterday wondering how you got on. Bummer on not finding out, I hate the suspense! My SIL had her scan yesterday too, she's having a lil girl, they've already picked and announced the name.

Arte - yerk re the ciggie butt. That's so foul. I found E playing with the cat litter tray the other day (ewww) while I was in the dunny. I really don't want to think about whether any went in her mouth before I found her!

Ok, well my big news of the day is I signed up at the Granny Gym! Did my first session today, all good. No mirrors, no treadmills, no skinny things in lycra, just real women of every shape and size and age getting their exercise in. Very comfortable environment.

MD, Danielle is my middle name! I never liked it, especially after I found out mum named me after a girl she had a crush on at high school!!!!! I went to school with a girl called Daniella - the other kids called her fanny-smella so I kept really quiet about it lol. Congrats on joining the granny gym. I would like to go to one of those but the only ones on offer here are A: tourist gym filled with swedish babes or B: Army gym filled with buff, tanned army dudes. I wouldn't feel right about showing my moonscape thighs in front of either.

Trill, wanna have a little mummy strike getaway with me?? I have started dreaming of a whole day to myself - just a comfy chair, a sunny day, banana milkshakes, a good book and packet of cigarettes. Seriously, I never get any time to myself and I am starting to go mental. The only thing I have done for me in the past year was one short horse trek. Everything else has been based around W or family time. I haven't even had a haircut! I was so looking forward to our holiday and then it turned into a dud which left me even mored drained.

Rainy and Clare, lmao at the complaining about the lack of programming on Foxtel. I don't have an ariel so I don't even have normal t.v stations. We get by watching an episode or two of a tv show dvd at night (currently Babylon 5). I think that is one of my main motivations for getting out of the house so much lol

Re Jovah, it was a name that 'came to me'. I did resresearched it and found a reference to someone with that name in an old American civil war enlistment list, around the Tennessee area. If you google it there are a few around the place, but it's a very rare name, no info at all on meaning. I guess you could make up your own ;). Kinda sad I didn't get to use it, after all. :(

Yep, teething is a nightmare. I suppose compared to horror stories I've heard it's not too bad. But its exasperated by being in such close confines and not having my sister and mum to help out. DH is good but works a fair bit. One molar is completly through, another has one point through and the other two have very white gums.

Thanks MM for reminding me about needles. I need to get Sarahs done soon. Was wanting to wait until she was over her ear infection and I think thats cleared up. Figure I might as well make her crankier and get them done now. lol

Sherie - I have to laugh at A uncleaning your house. I am so thankful that S isn't at that stage. Although, every morning I have to pick the cat food/water bowls off the ground, lift the rubbish bin off the ground and shut doors and gates. Then its a matter of what else has the little monkey found and gotten into.

Art - OMG how do you survive without tv? I at least need it going for back ground noise.

trill - your day sounds a lot like mine. We now have to make sure that every chair is pushed into the table, the bin is on the bench, the stools are on the bench, the dirty clothes basket has to be pushed up against the shower door ( she gets in and gets all wet). She pulls all the magnets off the fridge, the books off the bookshelf, the alfoil off the roll. I think i could write another paragraph :o Aren't they just the cutest little things though.

Ange - great that the scan went well. I didn't find out the sex of Jessica and Zoe either. I was happy to get the suprise. With Hannah, I had to find out, because if she was going to be a boy i had alot to organise!

My missy E is into everything too, loves sneaking into the shower while it's still wet :rolleyes:. Books, dvds, toys, etc are all fair game. She has learnt to case the edges of tables and shelves to see what she can reach. Last night, I wanted to put my jammies on and watch the telly. WELL one slipper was in the front room, the other in the hallway, the remote from the family room was in the front room and the remote from the lounge was near the bathroom (I had already intercepted it once earlier in the day on its way to the TOILET)! It took ten mins just finding all the bits I needed to sit down on the couch!

hey everyone..
think i am coming down with something.. last night we were standing at the butchers window and i sware i was gonna puke it was so awful erghh and then when we got home i didnt even open the chocolate biscuits we bought!! something seriously wrong there!! this morning i was trying to eat some yoghurt but couldnt stomach it and choked down some toast instead.. asha has a bit of a chesty cough so i am wondering if its a stomach flue man i hate being sick because i dont get a break where as when dp is sick well u all know the story i am sure!!
uncleaning lol we have alot of that here, clothes come out of the basket and onto the ground when i am hanging them on the line, clothes, bookes, dvds, toys all come back out when they have been put away and it drives me batty!!
gymberoo yesterday was really good, asha had a really good time and the program is very educational they even send u home with ur own word association book and u stick in the word and a picture from whatever was in the treasure bag that way.. was very impressed with the different range of cognitive and gross motor skills they are teaching and was happy to learn it was run by early childhood teachers (which is more than i can say for the local pree schools baby room)..
mmm its finally sunny here today after a long stretch of rain so therell be lots of washing today mm i am rambling lol oops..
md - congrats on the de-schlumpandinking i needa take a leaf out of your book lol sometimes i stay in my pjs all day and then when i have a shower at night i just change into fresh pjs lol shamefull!!

Hi ladies,

Just popping in quickly to catch up and say hi.

Been busy. H went well with his needles, cried a bit but has had no ill effect from them thankfully, He always ran a fever with the others.

Worked the last few days and was flat out learning my new job. I think I'll like it. The best thing is I can stay put for a good few years in that position. So after this bub is born I can go back to 2 set days a week and not have to do shiftwork or nightshift - so big yippi !!

We got some ****ty news about the house we are renting the other day. The owners are putting to auction to 4 weeks :o So major inconvenience of regular open houses and inspections before then, first one is tomorrow so we got 3 days notice - nice !!! It also means that we'll be moving from here when this bub is 4 weeks old - great !!!. Our new house will not be finished unitl June so we'll need to find somewhere to live for 6-8 weeks then move again - Not happy Jan , but what can you do ? Scream ??

Have read thru all post but can't reply ATM. Hope you all have a great day and awesome weekend. We r heading up north to stay with Joels' family, will be back tuesday. It's always so relaxing up there. I can't wait.

Noni - have you started with ttc yet? The whole butcher incident makes me wonder.......;)

hi everyone - just back from N having his jabs - I didnt do the MMR, decided tyo do that in a month or so...he is ok but seemed to be ina but of pain and temp went straight up so he had some panadol and is sleeping now. poor boy! was so scared he was going to do one of his blue attacks there and then - he didnt though and a bowl of blueberries and strawberries at the drs cheered him up immensly!
i asked the dr abt the blue attacks and it is nothing to worry about too much just something we have to live with i guess. i was als a bit concermed he may be ehind on his gross motor skills but dr said he is v strong and just to watch him for the next 2 months or so. he said he is v far ahead w speech and interaction etc so not to worry, they all do things at diff paces. that said in the last day N has been trying (and succeeded 2 times ) to pull himself up to stand so i guess he is progressing. so thats our news.
MD - wtg on the deschlpuping! i ama gym member just need to do it!!
when is dh home?

had a busy time with work but had a night to myself on tue when i was in syd. stayed at the hiltona nd just relaxed in the evening, did face mask etc and got about 10 hrs sleep. BLISS!

PP: yeah those blue attacks are pretty intense. we had a friend with a girl that did that from when she was about 6 months old. her mum got to the point that they would splash cold water on her face or pinch her thigh!! it was scary to watch.
yeah L is also going for all her shots minus the MMR. we have a CO letter from the GP, cause i want to wait until she is a bit older for that one.

JaZMum: was it exciting learning about the gender of the bubs when they were born? i found out about L at the scan, and i have to say that i loved knowing and calling her by her name (esp for the baby shower). but i dont know what i would do the next time round...hhmm

AFM: all pretty good here. spent an absolute FORTUNE on a dashing Melbourne Cup hat (even came in a big fat hat box!!). i love it! we decided to splurge as we are going with friends that have a horse in the big race. so we wanna take loads of photos next to the horse before the race...gotta look ma best ppl!
L is pretty good. she has this runny nose that wont go away. not sure if she is unwell though, she seems pretty chipper and has no temp..just booga trails... anyone else faced this conundrum?

Clare - have to say that it was incredibly exciting - a bit like looking at a present with your name on that's been sitting under the tree for weeks. Having said that, with both Jess and Zoe it was about a minute after that we thought, is it a girl or a boy. We were just in love with our babies :) How exciting getting all dressed up for the Melbourne Cup. You lucky thing!!!!

pregpan - poor little N. The needles really affect him don't they. It must be a nerve wracking time for you. yay on N pulling himself up!!

clare will you be in a marquee - i am doing corp entertaining at spring racng - def derby day and maybe cup - if i am there we should meet up. though i wotn have N with me so no one for mis L to play with... yay on the hat - it has to be done esp if with owners of the horse!!! is it a chance?
jaz - thanks, it has been worrying but i feel alot better after the dr. poor little guy does suffer a bit with the jabs but he is awake now and doing ok, had some lunch and is now having a great play!

Granny gym = Curves. Man those post menopausal chicks were rocking the equipment!! The instructor said at her last one there was this 87 year old that would come in every day and do a circuit. I thought man I have no excuse!

We've had a busy day here today. I had a Tupperware party to do this morning, then an appointment with a solicitor at 3pm, then had to meet my manager at 5pm and get ready for another Tupperware party tonight. (Yep, I'm a dealer). Flat out! Just got back from the party tonight and am winding down on here before bed. It was a Girls Night In and the host raised heaps more than she expected and I got some decent sales and bookings from it. Stoked. I even won a prize from the raffles of a pedicure and a giant mug filled with marshmallows. Noice. :dance:

Wow thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! 23 today!! I had so many msgs on facebook that I havent been able to say thanks individually, so THANKS GIRLS! Just had a relaxing day at home, the weather was pretty crapola today so just enjoyed the indoors with missy M. DP came home with a bottle of wine so we've been enjoying that tonight. DP got me a $100 voucher for dymocks, lol very romantic my man but I love reading so its a very practical gift that I can definately use.

Oops I am so uninformed when it comes to immunisations....I did the 3 shots all together. I really have no clue and just go with what the doctors tell us mums, whoops.

Kate - Oooh tupperware I am a sucker for it!

Rainy - Haha the weather better be good when I come over!

MD - Granny gym lol. I know what you mean though, I had a fitness first membership and some of the fit looking women could be quite intimidating. Must say I didnt mind having a perve on the buff guys though ;)

I had a good nights sleep for a change. Dh got up to Hannah through the night, and even got up when the girls did to make them breakfast. I got to sleep in until 7:30, which was just wonderful. Hannah's been eating dirt this morning. She's such a cheeky monkey.
Has anyone bought the Better homes and gardens mag? I'm getting some great ideas for little gifts out of it. I'm thinking of making some Santa Sacks for the Lollipop Ladies at school.

Oh, we don't have the snot trails here, but just really rank nappies still. I did think they were teething poos, but now I'm thinking it's a viral bug he's got as he had a viral-looking rash on his back and belly yesterday.

MM - actually I've read Mem's autobiography and she worked long and hard and juggled in the early days, she was living in a car at one point. I'm not defending her, I think she's just trying to point out that a lot of ppl today consider certain aspects of expenditure as 'necessities' when a generation ago ppl wouldn't dream of making those choices, kwim?

Raino - :o at sunburn. I guess that hole in the ozone is getting bigger and bigger. My hairdresser was telling me she got medivac'd to the burns unit in hospy after less than 3 hours out on the lake. She's been waterskiing for years so it was a bit of a shock. It was third degree burns and she collapsed (!) So slip slop slap everyone, that sun's getting nastier than it used to be.

Kate the girls night in with Tupperware, what a great idea! Noice raffle win too.

JaZaH I bought the BH&G maggie 10 days ago and haven't looked at it yet :lol:! I'm starting to think towards Christmas too as it's going to be craaaaazy with the removals, etc. I've got an advent calendar quilt panel but not sure it it'll get sewn this year! GL with the fete committee, we're currently organising our stall for the Guides fete. I had the brilliant idea of doing a "confectionary" stall as the cake stall was already taken and it was a complete winner last year. We sneak a few craft items in there too ;).

DD is being a complete royal PAIN today since her sleepover friend left. She's about to get her MP3 player confiscated if she's not careful.

Trill, sleepover was a complete success and her friend is such a lovely thoughtful kind and genuine girl, I'm just soooo relieved. It's doing H a world of good to have a special buddy after all this time. I guess i started to doubt that there were any other families bringing up their daughters to be genuine people but it seems like eventually they find one another! No muffled giggling, we watched Muppets Wizard of Oz (hilarious by the way), well actually I fell asleep on the couch and they watched it. So it was sort of an early night for me!

I told E it was time for a sleep, and she toddled into her bedroom ready to hop into the cot (!!!) She's been utterly exhausted these last few days. I took her to the dr as she had a bit of a temp and has been horribly whiney and clinging but he couldn't find anything wrong with her either. So now I'm wondering if she's just been overtired for some reason. I wonder if she's been awake at night but I've been too tired to hear her?

Ohh gosh too much wine & I just had to go and get on my box didnt I hehe. Marydean I know exactly what you mean, people putting their plasmas and flasho cars before their children. I can definately see her point, and I've learnt alot about young babies being put into f/t daycare (so not right) at uni, it just made me get the guilts about M.

The weather is so horrible here today and we have to go & meet with a marriage celebrant, really cant be bothered...

Rainy - Yep, cupboards are pretty full. Still the odd cheap chinese take away type container that DH uses for his lunches (I don't trust him with my tupperware, it comes back three months later with mould growing :wall:) A lot of my tupperware though is in my kit which I rotate around, so am constantly updating both my kit and subsequently my cupboards.

Jaz - yep, Rock N Serves. They are awesome for freezing and reheating. Just let me know... ;) Also, am very jealous of your sleepin. S has been getting up around 5am consistently (if not earlier) and not going back down until her mid morning nap. You'd think after so long of her waking at that time that I would be used to it...but nope, still knocks me for six.

MD - So cute about E toddling off to bed. Poor thing, hope she gets back to normal soon

OH boy Kate IKWYM! I have my "approved for DH use" cheap stuff in one cupboard and then all the 'good' tupperware in another as he completely ruined a container once by taking it to work and putting in the microwave. he also puts the rock n serve stuff in the pie warmer at work too! Q for you though, why is it that the US gets differnt tupperware than we do locally? I have brought some great stuff from Ebay form the US because it's not available here.

Marydean great to hear of the sleepover success. IKWYM about the attitude though, Lindsay is always like that after a sleepover at a particular friends house and it takes him a few days to have an 'attitude readjustment' ;) ie me telling him he better cut it out or else LOL. But I hope it doesn't come to that with H.

H, don't worry about the daycare, I really don't think she *directs* it at those who have to work, because she knows that it's unavoidable to use it, but I think her ire is mainly directed at those that use it excessively when they don't need too kwim?

md- yeah you're right, i think the sun is definitely getting hotter. i need to get lewis a hat that ties on and has a really wide brim, any ideas? might try pumpkin patch....

kate- so true about not trusting dh with containers! i don't trust mine anything. he tried to steal my bellybelly mug to have his stupid noodle soup in:o i don't think so....

hayley- how did you go with celebrant? it's all so exciting...
