Just popping in to say Hi. Will try and jump on tomorrow am to buggered tonight.
Ange, good luck for the scan
BBL for personals
OH I can vouch for the poos!!!! He did about 6 in nappies and then one in the shower last night! luckily I had already gotten out LOL. But they were all caustic teething poos so it washed down the drain pretty easy - I wasn't even going to attempt to scoop it out LOL. he is getting an entire molar at once, not just one point at a time and his left cheek felt like it was on fire it was so red. he is otherwise fine though, still sleeping OK which is a bonus.
Ange, good luck with the scan hun and don't you DARE toy with us unlike someone else did :nahnah:
Cindy, I hope H goes OK with his needles today too.
omg guys i was commplaining about 3 sometimes 4 poos a day here atm lol seems i should stop complaining!!
feeling blergh today like af is coming but it just dosnt u know.. its not due for about a week now anyway so its just teasing to make me feel extra crap grrr sometimes i wish i was male!!!
i have read everything but i am so tired my minds gone a bit blank so hope to bbl when i am a lil more coherant and post :) have a great day everyone!!
quiet morning in here!!
rang up this morning to start asha in gymbaroo.. theres not many classes around here for little ones gymbaroo is the closest and its still a 20min train ride followed by a 20min walk and thats if dp drops me at the station lol.. i really wanna start her in something tho i do feel shes getting bored staying home all the time.. we dont have much money but asha has her own savings from my grandad so we are gonna take some out of that since u have to pay upfront..
re those kiddy lounges, asha got one of them a while ago and she also loves it and got really excited when she got it lol she still jumps all over it and sits on it with her teddies..
sherie - oh we had the buring cheeks yesterday i thought it was a rash at first and freaked out lol..
ange - goodluck for the scan :)
ok so where is everyone??
I'm here!!
Noni, gymbaroo is a great idea! I reckon there MUST be some things/classes closer to where you are, if you tap into the playgroup scene other mums will tell you about stuff that they do. To find a playgroup, ring the playgroup association and they will tell you what's on. The church ones are often really well run and friendly (I have found even tho I'm not a christian) so if you're feeling shy that might be a good place to start? I found out about music and singing that the Salvos run every week that way - they NEVER advertise, it's been going for years purely on word of mouth. Miss E goes with the FDC lady now. Other good places to look for info is by visiting a community house in your area and also the what's on board at your public library. I'll be doing all that in a few months when we move!!
Feeling perkier today than yesterday. Little BettyWhineyBots slept like a log until I woke her up just before 9. Pure cranky tiredness yesterday. She wouldn't take the boob last night, she was totally hyper on lack of sleep! We're down to only 1 or 2 feeds a day but I'm not sure she's ready to give it away, doesn't feed very long either so my supply is dwindling. :( Feel so sad but there's another part of me that knows that it's a natural by-product of DH being away and there just not being enough of me to spread around as far as two parents would normally go.
On the plus side, it's Trixie Belden and the Case of the Rapidly Vanishing Bosom here, all the excuse I need to go (lacy) underwear shopping today. ;) The quest for de-sclumpadinkment continues...
I'm here Noni
Gymbaroo sounds good. We go to an activity most days, W gets cranky if he is at the house all day. Usually we have playcentre/music/mothers group in the morning and go for a walk in the pram in the afternoon (weather permitting). He is so busy all the time, we run out of things to do at the house and I get sick of reading a zillion books to him all day lol
I guess we got lucky poo-wise - he is a once a day boy lol. Yesterday he had three, twice right after I changed him and then in the bath. I think that may have been the cause of the really unsettled sleep we had the night before.
So after my complaining about all W's comfort feeding, the other day he only fed in the morning and before his nap so poor righty didn't get used all day and I ended up with a blocked duct. Ouchie. It seems a lot better today though. I think I undid all the work cutting down feeds because I kept making him empty that side :wall:
Ange, how can people not understand the ittibitti fastening system? It is all colour coded!
Rainy and Ange, get the Phil and Teds! Support NZ companies lol (although they are probably made in China)
waaa i just had my post almost finished and lost it!!
yay people are here!!
i put ashas cot into a bed yesterday lol she had a day sleep in it but when it came to night time it just didnt feel right and she slept with us lol i will be converting it back today.. shes just a baby lol dunno what i was thinking.. she wakes herself up so many times from banging into the cot ughh just have to ride it out i think.. shes quite a big girl and i think thats the problem...
arte - wow an activity every day asha would love that.. but not being able to drive that would be a massive hastle and cost alot of money for me.. hopefully gymbaroo will help break things up a bit tho and give her something to look forward too as well as the once a fortnight to my mums place..
md - wow i had no idea there were so many ways to look for activities.. will suss out gymbaroo tmw and see how we go.. have to be there by 9.20 so depends alot on how i cope getting up early and getting everything ready to go haha.. will be good to get out tho...
Congratulations Rainy thats excellent news!!!!! So come one tell us the other news, please tell me you are getting married too?
Noni, MD is right - there should be lots of stuff closer to you. It is different here because there isn't a playgroup organisation as such, you just have to look around for flyers. Most towns here also have a playcenter which is a NZ initive where parents are involved in the education of the children - we go and play and learn but the parents stay with the kids. MD's suggestions were all good. You could also post in the playgroups or meet-up forums and see if there is anyone on here that lives near you that you could organise something with.
Morning Girls,
Firstly.... CONGRATULATIONS TO RAINY... Yippeee 2 boys....
Re: Pram : I have a Twin Mountain Buggy for sale. Its black.
Poos- Livi has not pooed in the bath or shower yet but Xavier use to poo in the shower all the time. Jordy never.
ATM: All is good DH goes away again tomorrow but will be home midnight friday night.
Kids are all good and Livi got one of her molars which explains why she was cranky last week. She is growing up so fast and she is just so cute. She just really loves playing with the boys.
MD:hug:
Whoops better go I am at work and stressed out..
i'm here, just got back from swimming with ange and lu. it was so good, lewis had an absolute ball, he was laughing and yelling out. so funny!
hayley- you just have to be patient, i can't tell you all the secrets at once!
leanne- i was looking at the mountain buggy but changed my mind, how did you find it?
well i looked up playgroups in my area and they are all really hard to get to.. none i could walk to in under half an hour.. i really thought thered be some closer but no joy..
what about a library noni? they often run classes
im not close to anything lol.. its all atleast a bus trip away..the library is a good idea tho might look into it..
Rainy-re the Mountain Buggy. It was so easy to use. I know they are expensive but I found they were worth the money.
Glad to here swimming was good. We have lessons this arvo.
Even better - Mountain Buggy's are NZ owned and are actually MADE here too! (I seem to be having a patriotic day, don't know why - Helen Clark certainly isn't handing out $1000 bucks)
so you're saying i should take my k-rudd grand and spend it on stimulating the nz economy?
i like it!
where is oobi made? lol
how's the bfing going arte? is he having more cows milk?
Yes, that is fantastic - you should all spend your Rudd money on NZ goods, lend us a hand before we sink lol
Oobi isn't NZ, but Cariboo is if you want to spend your entire grand on a blanket lol
W was really keen on the cows milk for a couple of days but now he won't even look at it again. That is what happened last time so I gave up offering it...
EWWWW the grossest thing ever happened the other day. We were at the park and W always tries to put the woodchips in his mouth. Anyways, I saw he had something in his gob so I went over and told him to spit it out and it was a filthy old ciggarette butt! Yuck Yuck Yuck!!!
Noni, that is a pain. What suburb are you in?
hahaha u guys are so funny!! its a good point tho krud cant garauntea we will spend our money on boosting the australian economy can he?
well i rang up a library and signed up for baby rhyme and story time lol i will have to catch a bus there but its free apart from that so its an $8 day out provided i take drinks and snacks with us.. thats on a monday so with that and gymbaroo thurs and my mum taking ash every second friday things should fill in a little better i know asha and i are going nuts staying home all the time!! hope the weather is better tho was about to walk to the shops and it started raining (asha was out the front in the pram and i had just locked the door and set the alarm grrrr) when we came back in ofc she wasnt at all impressed.. tmw i have a 15-20min walk from the train station to gymbaroo so fingers crossed its not raining atleast!!
arte and rain - ash is the same with cows milk she was having one bottle a day of it and then two and then the dr said she should only have 3 bottles a day and 2 should be formula we cut one out and since then she stopped drinking the other cows milk one too only having 2 bottles now grrr coz the toddler stuff recomends no more than 2 a day lol.. she will occassionally drink milk from a cup.. she gets offered it daily but often only drinks a sip or two..
Afternoon Girls,
Art- Yep they will put anything in their mouths.
Noni- How are your wedding plans going?
Howdy everyone
I have been reading and not posting today sorry.
Noni I hope you and Asha enjoy the library. I keep meaning to take L to the reading sessions.
Arte ewww at W eating ciggarette butts. They will eat anything though wont they.
Rainy how long do we have to wait for the second surprise? Anymore luck with names?
Ange how did the scan go?
H how are the wedding plans coming along? You been dress shopping yet? Maddie is going to look so adorable all dressed up.
MD glad your feeling a little perkier today. Hugs to you re the BF, L has just weaned and I am still sad about it.
We had hail here just before and now it is freezing. It is very dark outside and looks like we are in for more rain. I think DH and I have decided that we will officially start TTC in December, I keep changing my mind lol. Wel lbetter go and play with my little man who is pulling everything out of every draw he can open.
arte- i can't beleive w is smoking already! lol
lewis can't get enough of cows milk- drinks about 3 bottles a day.
noni- great news about the library, you'll love it
hayley- if you're looking for a nice dress for maddie for the wedding, i bought my friend's dd an oobi dress for her birthday party and it looked absolutely beautiful. people were asking her all day where she got it from. check it out on cradle rock website- oobi marilyn dress in pink. it's hot!
katie- patience is a virtue.....
re ttc- i kept changing my mind too, then next thing you know i was pg! oops
sherie- you're a crack up! justin is dp :)
Rainy - i love the Cradlerock website - i've bought a few gifts for friends from there.
Hannah loves cows milk too, although i've found that she prefers it with the chill taken off.
Arte - yucko!!
Katie - That is so exciting! Just a month away. I wonder if we'll get those storms up here today.
Noni - maybe you could start your own playgroup. I'm sure Playgroup Australia could put you in touch with others from your area.
eta - Sherie i was wondering the same thing.
hey Rainy - the other day on FB you said you like K Rudd. I was thinking of K Fed, and i thought he must have given custody back to Britney!!!!!!
We will be getting the $1000 from Krudd too, but more than likely will have to pay it back after tax time next year. We had to pay back all our family tax benefit this year, we underestimated our income by mistake. Its hard as DP works on commissions so his wage is up and down. So might just tell Krudd to stuff his $1000 because he'll want it back by tax time LOL!
Rainy - Ohh dont you encourage me, I'll end up with an Oobi addiction like you lol! Thanks I'll check it out. Come on I am hanging for your second surprise, I am hoping you & I will be planning a wedding together and can trade tips!
Noni - Ooooh whats this you are planning a wedding too!? HOW EXCITING! Asha will love going to storytime at the library.
Katie - YAY for ttc, I'm sooo excited for you. Thats a perfect time I think, L will be a good age once bub arrives. No havent gone dress shopping yet, I've become very relaxed about this whole wedding thing and thats the way I like it.
Arte - Ohhh yuck W! Hehe little munchkin.
Leemar - Those mountain buggy's look awesome!
Re Milk: Maddie is on cows milk now & has been for about a month, I've just been giving her normal coles brand full fat milk. I've noticed the toddler milks but they are expensive! She has 3 bottles a day, should I be paying extra for toddler milk or is it a scam? We havent even used the toddler step 3 on her. Seems to be going fine on coles milk. (Just to clear it up, I'm not the stingey one, its my DP - stingey Italian lmao, no offense to anyone)
Must say, I am having such trouble keeping Maddie in a pram these days. Now that she is walking its all she wants to do. Went to the shops today, what a nightmare, she just wanted to walk everywhere. Went into Pumpkin Patch & I can see we've got a little fashionista on our hands, she was walking around picking things off the rack & bringing them to me as if to say i likey can I have! Dad wont be impressed hehe.
Ohh Rainy the dress is gorgeous. I'll definately keep it in mind, thank you!!!
Hey ladeez,
Scan went well, i can prodly announce we are having......
a baby! :p Sorry didn't find out the gender! But all was well. :D
Had a great time at swimming this morning i'll upload some pics to FB tomorrow, the kids had a cracker time.
Sorry havn't caught up, but will later. ;)
jaz- ha ha k-fed.....too funny!
ange- glad it all went well. i just realised i have an appointment on wed nov 5 so will have to skip swimming that week. dp loves lewis' t-shirt.
hayley- we just use safeway full fat milk. he loves it. i think you should splash out on some oobi!
LOL G, you've been on FB then. You could have been more specific, but yes, Justin is a boys name I love buy could never convince DH to use it.
yeah i love it too:D, maybe we should have it as a middle name:)
Hi girls!!
Noni: it can be a real PITA getting around huh! before we (mums group) changed venues i had a 40 minute walk up my sleeve. luckily it went past a cafe and i would get my latte to help with the energy LOL!
great news on the library session. i'm sure she'll love it!
Oz: Dec seems like a nice goal to aim for re the TTC. we fell pg with L around the 15-18 dec...great month! :D
oohh i heard about the hail! big as tennis balls!
Ange: YAY! on seeing bubba! i loved that scan.
Rain: ooohh i LOVE that dress too! will have to buy one for L for her christmas dress (always need an excuse! LOL)...;)
MM: i cracked up at M waltzing around Pum Patch. so funny!
re the milk: Leila is only really managing one sippy cup a day. but she has milk in her cereal and loads of dairy in other stuff so i am not too concerned. she is healthy and thriving.
it's COLD here tonight. (no doubt freezing where you are Rain!). i have the heating on again.... :(
yes i have the heating on too!
that dress is the best- you need to get the matching rosette hair clips :)
Hi guys
Just a quick one from me. S has been getting her molars thru and we are both like death warmed up. Hope everyone is well...will try to bbl
I checked L's mouth for teeth tonight as he had REALLY bad nappy rash the week before last and what do you know he has both top molars. They are quit they way through too. I checked late last week but obviously didnt do a very good job lol, I was expecting another bottom tooth he still only has 3 on the bottom.
Anyway thats my bit of news lol. Can you tell I am bored tonight.
ETA Ange glad the scan went well, when I saw your post I was like hang on she wasnt going to find out the sex, your as cheeky as Rainy.
no one's as cheeky as me ;)
i'm sooooo friggin bored! i seem to be spending so much time on bb atm- i think it's cos there's nothing decent on foxtel lately, has anyone else noticed that? all the trashy shows have finished up.
katie- congrats on top molars. L has had really bad nappy rash too, hopefully that means he'll get his too.
kate- are you ok? just sleep deprived??
Thats a good idea Clare, I might get it as a chrissy dress too.
Hey Rainy are there any places in Melb that you can buy Oobi, that you know of? We are coming over in Dec for a quick family visit so if you know of any stores I'll pop in.
Ange - Very glad to hear that bub is doing well. Did you find out the sex the first time around?
Clare - Well I am boiling hot lol. Its been quite warm here the past few days and our house is like a sauna.
Kate - Hope those teeth come through quickly.
Katie - Haha well thats good that they came through with not much hassle.
hayley- i usually buy all my oobi stuff online from either cradle rock, ten little indians, the rocking horse or the kids store. i don't think i've ever seen it in a shop. mmmm maybe i should open an oobi shop....
Definately! I'm sure it would go off!
MM: hmmm not sure of a place that has loads of oobi stuff. i mean, there are some gorgeous little baby stores here in Brunswick/Fitzroy that stock oobi, but yeah, online is best (just cause you get all the choice!)...trust me it is as good as it looks LOL!
Awww i wanna move to Perth!! i can't stand the cold...think i am allergic to it. i have grown up in the tropics, and my body just isnt able to cope. or maybe it's just the dodgy rentals we have lived in...
Rainy: i so get it. there is nothing on ATM. so BB has been my entertainment. pity that it was crashing so much earlier in the week...could have racked up way more hours LOL!
oohh i FORGOT about the clips! ha ha! i have noticed that Leila's wardrobe has been getting really daggy. it took me awhile to realise that it's because all the clothing (ie pretty and expensive stuff) were presents and she has grown out of them!! arrghhhh!! no more country road, oobi or collette dinnigan in sight!! need to go splurge shopping...need money. darn it...my plan of winning lotto is taking longer than i first thought! LOL!
Oz: holy moly girl! two gorgeous molars!! BONANZA! we are still tripping the light fantastic here with 6 (4 on top and 2 on bottom).
Kate: oh no you poor things! teething is the pits...cant wait til they get all their munchers on board.
AFM: well i forgot to mention that we all headed off to the world's greatest pram stroll here at albert park on sunday. it is run with beyond blue to raise awareness on PND and to welcome new parents into the community. it was pretty fun and we met some nice families. problem was that it was freezing, so walking alongside a lake with ripping icy winds really reminded you that you were alive...Leila loved it. she likes the cold. egad.
