    hi girls
i've just gotten home and everything is fine here, lots of leaves and branches everywhere but thankfully all ok. i'm just so thankful and feel so lucky that we got through this weekend. i can't stop crying watching the news and thinking about all the suffering that people and animals have gone through.
poor ange, going through this and being pg, it's just horrific. i feel so bad for her and her dh.
i just can't believe all this has happened

Oh Ange, it's such a relief to hear from you! If there is anything at all you need, just let us know OK? I hope you hear that your friends are OK soon, it's awful not knowing. I hope that the damage to your house is minimal too

G, great to hear that you got home safe and sound and all is OK down your way.

Rainy, thank goodness all is ok at your place. I've been fretting for you all weekend. I think you should turn the telly off now, you need to rest up right now. Yes it is terrible but Ange is strong and will come through this, she has plenty of offers of support. xxx

thanks girls, i'm going to turn it off now. i just really wish dh was home, he's heading home now but has to go the long way because roads are blocked. the boat race that he went away to see was cancelled at the last minute as all the emergency services people had to go to the fires, so it was a waste of a trip anyway.
this is all just so horrible, a town not too far from here called marysville has been completely wiped off the map. there is only one building left- the bakery cafe which dh and i actually went to on a 'date' once when we first met.

Ange - Thinking of you & your family during this terrible time, I hope the damage to your house isnt as bad as expected. I'm so sorry to hear about your dog and live stock. Definately let us know what we can do to help, feel so helpless watching the news from perth.

Rainy - So relieved to hear you & your house are safe & sound. I was worrying about you, knowing that you are home alone & heavily pregnant. Your dad is something special he really looks after you!

Thanks girls for the reassurances re leaving M behind, we are going to do it, but no doubt will feel guilty like no tomorrow.

As for my hair, I'll sort it, I just kind of wanted it up & loose & not too severe looking, so I guess if it doesnt go to plan on the day I'll tell her to whip it out and blow dry it nice & straight.

    Hi girls,

i hope everyone is holding up today. i think the reality of these fires is only just starting to sink in today for me as we gather at work and realise that some of us won't be coming in.

rainy: hope your DH gets home soon. bet that's gunna be one good hug!

MM: that's pretty much what my friend did. they did these tight curl things in her hair and after they left she teased bits of them out to give a more natural look. she looked great too! so where there's a will....

AFM: well i am having *issues* with my laptop not lettng me log onto BB anymore. DH was mucking around with the battery yesterday and i think he has wiped the system and it's gone into meltdown. hope the Phd is fine, luckily i have a backup but still, pretty fuming. so i may not be on for a while until i get it sorted (am hitching a ride on a work colleagues computer ATM).
miss L is not great ATM. not sure what it is, but she is very unsettled. up all night for 2 nights now. and during the day she just wants to be held and cuddled and not leave our side. as much as i love the extra attention i am concerned that it is hinting at something deeper iykwim. something tells me that she isn't quite right. might take her to the pg tomorrow.

hehe Md - I was thinking the same thing.
Clare - are your workmates Ok? Has L got some teeth coming through. Hannah has been restless for the past 2 nights - tossing and turning all night - and she has some big toothies coming down.

Clare - hope L is feeling better. goodluck with the computer.

Rainy - hope DH is home safe and sound now

Ange - have everything crossed for you, hope you get the chance to go home soon and see if anything is salvageable.

AFM - have donated to the Red Cross appeal so am feeling a little bit better about the fires. DD and DH got big hugs last night, it was just so upsetting watching the news.

DD sounds like she is getting sick again. To be expected I suppose after going back to childcare after the holidays. She was coughing most of last night and after going from Tues morning without a bfeed she had one Sat evening, Sun morning and evening! And I was thinking on Sat morning that I might be able to go to the doctor soon and get a pill script to do something about my stupid pimples! Oh well.

    hi girls!

MD: i know, i know! i tried to change the 'pg' to 'gp' but it kept crashing LOL! i seriously have nooo idea what is up with my laptop. i just can't log in, and if i do, it logs me on at the time i logged on yesterday...so weird.

Cally: sorry to hear that there is a sick bubba at home. i feel ya pain!

JaZMum: my office mate has had some loss of friends. so it is a quiet time today.

AFM: well i think i will put my hand up to transport injured animals from the fire. i used to do this back in the ACT and the RSPCA is needing some help ATM so i'll see if DH can help us with this. like many of us, i just want to be able to help in some way.

Clare - so sorry that your friend has lost loved ones. Must be an incredibly devastating time for her.
That sounds like a fabulous way for you to help out.

Cally - I hope K is on the mend soon. I'm on the pill that helps with pimples, but i think the chocolate is winning at the moment

    Hey everyone.

Clare, i've got loads of clothes that I was just going to give to Vinnies, but I'm going to call the red cross about donating to them instead. Are you able to give blood or not? I wish I could, but can't cause of the MTX. I feel really helpless. I hope the PhD is safe and sound, I would be devastated for you if you lost it all, even if you do have a copy.

H, I hate it when you have an idea of how you want your hair and they don't quite get it right. Have you got time for another trial? I'm glad to hear that the IL's are coming around on the food front for M now, it must be a relief for you, plus you still have time to work on them about it. I would be all for leaving her, only because this might be the only chance you get to have a proper honeymoon kwim? I know so many couples who didn't do it at the time, saying that they would do it in a years time etc, and they never do.

I hope Ange is OK at her Mum's - I heard the army were going to be bulldozing firebreaks around Yea.

Well the temp has dropped 28degs overnight!!!! Can you believe it?! I woke up at 4am freezing my ass off under the air con and freaking out cause I could smell smoke, but then I realised it was just blowing up from the fires. It's a lovely cool day today, but a bit humid cause the smoke is trapping a lot of heat kwim?

Clare so sorry to hear about your workmates loss. I don't think there will be anyone in all of Vic who is not affected one way or another, the scale of the disaster is so huge and overwhelming. Maybe L is just picking up on the general angst and trauma around her at the moment? Some of these little ones are really very perceptive.

Jazah - good to hear from you! We'll have to have a pimple-off. I reckon I'd win on account of my d!cky liver LOL. The only thing that's working for me is to smother my face daily with witchhazel (I think it's the alcohol in it that does the trick). I *know* it's not chocolate either cos I haven't had any for 2 months and the pimples are still as bad.

MM, I hope you get the hair situation sorted ASAP - that's the sort of thing that can undo you at the last moment LOL. I agree with Trill, go for a 'proper' honeymoon, it might not come together like that for you for a long time (DD1 was 5 yo before DH and I managed to get away for a weekend together LOL)! Plenty of time for family holidays later on.

Cally I hope K's immune system is up and firing and she doesn't succumb to the lurgy.

Well I can't really give blood because my veins are so shiatt (it's hard enough to get out a vial or two for blood tests) plus with surgery on Fri not the wisest. I've given DH a push though cos he pumps out the red gear by the litre. LOL We're gonna send some $$ and I'm thinking in the longer term about volunteering with the Red Cross to do Disaster relief work. It won't help this time but in the long run it all helps.

Trill I didn't even think that you might have fires any where near you! I've been all-consumed by the Vic situation. I did notice however that a little town we used to drive thru all the time on our way to Eden's been burnt thru.
