Clare so sorry to hear about your workmates loss. I don't think there will be anyone in all of Vic who is not affected one way or another, the scale of the disaster is so huge and overwhelming. Maybe L is just picking up on the general angst and trauma around her at the moment? Some of these little ones are really very perceptive.

Jazah - good to hear from you! We'll have to have a pimple-off. I reckon I'd win on account of my d!cky liver LOL. The only thing that's working for me is to smother my face daily with witchhazel (I think it's the alcohol in it that does the trick). I *know* it's not chocolate either cos I haven't had any for 2 months and the pimples are still as bad.

MM, I hope you get the hair situation sorted ASAP - that's the sort of thing that can undo you at the last moment LOL. I agree with Trill, go for a 'proper' honeymoon, it might not come together like that for you for a long time (DD1 was 5 yo before DH and I managed to get away for a weekend together LOL)! Plenty of time for family holidays later on.

Cally I hope K's immune system is up and firing and she doesn't succumb to the lurgy.

Well I can't really give blood because my veins are so shiatt (it's hard enough to get out a vial or two for blood tests) plus with surgery on Fri not the wisest. I've given DH a push though cos he pumps out the red gear by the litre. LOL We're gonna send some $$ and I'm thinking in the longer term about volunteering with the Red Cross to do Disaster relief work. It won't help this time but in the long run it all helps.

Trill I didn't even think that you might have fires any where near you! I've been all-consumed by the Vic situation. I did notice however that a little town we used to drive thru all the time on our way to Eden's been burnt thru.

hi Md - witchhazel hey? please tell me more. I'm on the estelle brand pill which is supposed to be good for the skin, but this time around it's not working. Jessica had to draw a family picture last year, and my face was covered in little spots - so embarrassing.
we'll probably give some cash as well. It would be great if they set up an 'adopt a family' style situation, but i guess there are just so many families that have been affected. I'd really like to help everyone if i could - but unfortunately i don't have loads of cash to hand out.

It's just the D!ckinson's brand witchhazel, I use it like a toner after cleansing and before moisturising. It's cheap as chips, I usually get it at Woollies or Priceline (haha MD's budget beauty tips).

The fires aren't near us MD, it's just all blown up from the Vic fires. There are a few around Tumut (east of Wagga), but I think they are all contained. LOL at Mr MD being able to donate by the bucket load - when I had a blood test the other day to check my hormones and all that, she took 7 vials!!

Jaz, Don't you just love when they include EVERYTHING in their pictures? My skin is bloody terrible ATM and I'm sure it's cause of the mirena cause I never get pimples.

Jazmum ... Thanks. Can try him in the toddler bed as I still have my other sons set up (as a spare for him). Just need one of those anti roll out things. My eldest was 18 months when he started climbing out so Jack is doing pretty well.

Fal , don't know what else to say

I haven't been keeping up with the fires cause knowing my emotions, I would sit here & cry. To all the ladies who are out there in them, have been in them or has people in them, my heart goes out to you.

Was watching jack climb the stock gate this evening thinking of the comments bout him being a monkey. He had his feet two rows from the top whilst swinging holding on to the top rung.
He's cracking me up at the moment, he's trying to feed the dog the food he knocked on the ground from his dinner.
The boys daycare changed about last week. They have gone from two careers to one & instead of Tuesdays, they go Fridays (and keep Monday & Thursday's). Was a shock to their system as I believe they knew something was up not going to the other mum's place at all.
Jack has had a nasty nappy rash that is under his doodle where it sits on his "nuts" (didn't know which word to use ). The GP gave me a steriodal cream & told me to toilet train him. Will be interesting. Just starting slowly for now, & as he loves Alex's bob tools, they tool box is sitting beside the potty as encouragment.

oops .. .they've escaped out the back door ... bbl ...

    Hi girls,

Sherie: i so hear ya on the cool weather. it is so bizarre! i had goosebumps today! and it's going to be 13 tonight!!!
i don't think i have good blood. last blood test showed crazy small red blood cells. i'll check it out and see if they still want me though.

MD: wow. no chocolate for 2 months...phew that's tough. can you like totally chow down after the op? or is there some kind of waiting period??

Andie: yeah miss L has a nappy rash atm too. the poor thing can't even sit today. i'll take her to the gp tomorrow to get it checked out.

JazMum: i too can vouch for witchhazel. i used it alot when i was a teen and still have a bottle in the bathroom JIC. i use it as a toner and it seems to do the trick.

AFM: well it appears that what was bothering Leila was a nappy rash dying to get out! LOL! it is BAD. i will take her to the GP tomorrow and get it checked, poor thing cant even sit atm.
have just given the rspca my details to assist them for the vic fire appeal. i can do some transport and stuff so we'll see if they need us.

Clare: When Alex had a bad one I was told to toilet train, now I've been told to toilet train Jack. Hope L's clear up. What creams have you tried? Have you tried keeping her out of disposable nappies?

That's the million dollar question Clare. I've been gazing in the Haigh's window at all the nice Valentines Day boxes and hmmm, it is Valentines Day the next day, isn't it?

Andie & Clare, my fallback for nappy rashes is to apply both canesten AND sigmacort creams, together. Of course if the Dr has given you something else, go with that.

    howdy

Clare we use Brauers on L's nappy rash, he gets it really bad when he is teething and its the best thing we found so far.

MD I cant believe you havent had chocolate for 2 months, I think I must be making up for your share lol.

Gosh I cant remember anything else, how bad is that. Might check back in after some ice cream.
