Thats awesome, good on you YAY!!!!!!!!
Congratulations Katie!!!!! i KNEW something was up!! LOL! that is such exciting and awesome news! you go girl!!! mwahhhhhh!:dance:
Especially seeing as a couple of weeks ago she said she tested & then I remember someone asking how it all went, & I dont think there was a reply to that question ;) LOL cheeky cheeky
omg!!! congratulations honey!!!
you're not pg in your avi though!!!
are you going to have a homebirth? i'm so excited!!!!!
He he he thanks girls, I am actually going to change my ticker back for now as we are keeping it quiet, so if we could keep it off FB that would be great. I must say the ticker was discovered so quickly MM I thought it might take a while lol.
I wasnt sure when to tell, I have been busting to tell since Oz day when I found out. Then with everything thats been happening and everyone so sad I wasnt sure if it was appropriate, in the end I thought perhaps it would be nice to bring some happiness.
Rainy not 100% sure on the homebirth yet but thats they way I am definitely leaning.
wow! congratulations, so happy for you and dh
AAHAHAHA no wonder you were looking into homebirthing options and we were all saying still plenty of time LOL
Awwwwww, you've made me all clucky Katie!!!! Congratulations hun! So this is why the big icy pole craving? ;)
MM LOL I did have a chuckle about that. Mind you when I started looking into midwives I didnt know I was PG
ETA Yep Trill the icy poles have been making me feel so much better.
OMG I'm soooo happy for you Katie - woohoo! You have totally made my day :cheer:!!
congratulations katie
I am so friggen clucky as well Trill, it aint funny hehe!
Not long now MM and you can start TTC.
I think now it is Noni due in August, Arte in Sep and me in Oct.
Just a quick one cause I realised I missed a whole page of posts LOL.
H, that big dark square looking thing is our front dam and to the left of that is the house. Sydney is not quite 600km east of us and the shops are 42km's to the north LOL - puts it all in perspective for you doesn't it?
MD, I hope you have a good recovery from it. I remember when Mum had it done it was still open surgery and she was in hospital for a week.
OK, must dash and get the kids off the bus
Trill - How amazing, its like being in the outback! Listen to me, such a city girl. Your dam is humungous, do the kids swim in it?
MM, Trill IS in the outback LOL.
ROFL MD. DH will take them swimming in it sometimes, and we have a canoe that we go out in. It is a huge dam and when it's full there is an island in the middle of it. When it's empty, if you stand at the very bottom, it is 8mtres from the bottom, to the top of the bank, so there is about 6mtres of depth when it's full. I hate swimming in dams though and I don't encourage the kids to do it either. But since we've had the pool up we've not had to worry about using it.
LMAO whoops, I always think of the outback as the Northern Territory! The dam sounds like fun, with the canoe and all lol how cute.
MD:
9.04am on ABC1 (ch102 to Austar) ... too busy on Playhouse Disney. Though I used to watch in high school!
The surgeon sent me home the day after I had my gallbladder out (then they expected me to return to full time work a week later)
Rainy:
Figured I would try Jack in Alex's old toddler bed, still in Alex's room ATM. They jumped from bed to bed, & ran around like nuts for hours. Then they would lie down together in Alex's single bed.
Hayley:
I have often thought about surf classes as I know somewhere has little nippers. I mite look into it for next season though. You are correct. They are becoming real water lovers & OMG Jack, he loves sitting in the waves & have them break over him. I am amazed just how quickly the adjusted. I guess going every week to the water & constantly, it helps.
I look at the mess & I'm like, are they having fun together, yes, ah stuff it. I don't see the point in ruining their fun as its not all the time they play like that.
Katie:
Aww, congrats. Hope the pg goes well for you.
I get a phone call this evening ... my ex is coming down for a "talk" on Sat morning, mind you things haven't been the best between us the last few weeks (we had a fight over the difference of information he tells me, & then he tells other people diff stories each & all I wanted to do was clarify the stories I was told). So he hasn't been speaking to me. But thats okay, have been w8n for this "talk". But he tells me he has invited his mother down to my house to see the boys, to my house. Apparently we are going for a drive to have this "talk". But he invited her to my house without discussing it with me. Now this place isn't presentable :( & half of my furniture is moved as tracey is supposed to be doing work on the roof on Friday but she has cancelled that so I can concentrating on making my house "visitor" friendly. O did i mention I have to put his mother up overnight. & provide dinner, & cook it. Sorry, I'm not impressed with this whole issue. He knows it too. I'm one that likes notice. Part of my "organising" side of me. Grrr. But, I will have some clarification on some issues after this "talk". But I am wondering if it is worth it. My two week headache has flaired up again ... i'm off to start cleaning ...
take care ladies
Andie - Oh no I'm one for notice as well, besides the MIL should keep her distance, surely she knows that he is coming down to attempt to patch things up? MIL's are sometimes so clueless. I hope she doesnt want to put in her 2 cents worth. Dont worry about the house, as for dinner, do something simple. Pasta bake, bbq, chicken cutlets & salad etc. I hope your talk goes well & you can sort things out, let us know how you go.
Well M has a new thing that she started doing today, and has been doing for the whole of today lol. Everytime she drops something etc, she starts rabbiting on "uh oh, uh oh, uh oh" & it goes on and onnnn hehe. Its SO CUTE! Anyway sitting her before & shes in bed now, then I hear the dummy crashing to the floor beneath her cot & sure enough, "uh oh, uh oh, uh oh......" TOO CUTE!!
MM L is obsessed with Uh Oh, it was cute at the start lol. He does it when he is naughty too, he puts things under the fridge but says Uh Oh before he shoves them under there LMAO. Arent they cheeky.
Hayley .. he invited her & i don't think he wld hve told her. Apparently we are going for a drive for this talk but I think he forgets we are on 25acres. Will let you's know thouth. You ladies have been gr8 & very supportive.
Jack has the whole "uh oh" thing down too. Tho ATM his fav words are "nite nite"
Lol Oz thats too funny what a cheeky monkey!
Andie - Maybe he has invited her for support, but still!!
"Congratulations katie!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for you. ( I did wonder when you made the icypole comment.;) )
I must have missed Arte's announcement too... Congratulations Arte!!!!!!
I've just spent ages reading through the past few pages, and I'm sorry, but i think i may have forgotten a chunk.
Md - good luck for Friday. I hope your ready for some valentine's day action on the weekend. Hehe.
rainy - I really feel for you at the moment. i get upset watching the news and reading the papers, I can only imagine how much worse it is for you being so close to everything - and i know that you have such empathy for other people and animals, and you really take it deep into your heart - that's what makes you so special. You need to vent your feelings as well , so you know that this is the perfect place. (and we won't tell J when you've been ratting on him hehe)
Did you see the video footage of the firefighter giving the Koala a drink of water? So gorgeous, and made me cry.
the girls' school is having a red clothes day on Friday for a gold coin donation. One of the Dad's is organising some transport to take donated items down to Vic as well. Might buy some basics like soap and toothpaste etc. Apparently there is a township called St Andrews' , and the girls school is St Andrew's, so they're hoping that we can form some kind of friendship in order to help the survivors recover.
mm - i didn't watch Find my Family - i had my mum and sister over and didn't want to be a blubbering mess in front of them.
Some of you on facebook have noticed my comment about Hannah....climbing the blasted ladder on the girls' bunk beds. She can get right to the top!! I'm sure she'll be climbing out of the cot like Jack very soon.
Hannah's favourite word at the moment is "MUM". She yells it out loud, even if i'm right in front of her. it's like....."MUM! MUM! MUMMEEEEEE!
Aren't they so precious. :)
hi girls!
Andie: that sounds like it's going to be a pretty intense time with your ex and mil. but as you said, hopefully it will provide some clarification. i am with MM on this one: keep the food simple! being in an italian household it would be pasta all the way! LOL!
Oz: PP is also due (i think just before Noni???). so there is Arte, Noni, PP, YOU!, Rainy and Ange...man not many left! LOL!
Jaz: i love hearing all the words these bubbas are saying! It is so awesome! although leila has learnt to yell incessantly lately so that's not so nice
MM: the 'uh oh' is fantastic huh??!!! Leila now drops things delibrately just so she can say it! LOL! i especially love it when she 'accidently' drops dolly...
Sherie: i never really liked swimming in dams either. all the other kids would be off on the makeshift boats in the middle and i would be on the edge in the goopy mud getting nipped by yabbies LOL! i guess for me i just didnt like not knowing what was in the water, and i always had this fear that i would bump into a drowned cow....man i was a bizarre child LOL!
AFM: all ok here. i think that yet again the penicilan has failed me. the tonsilitis appears to not want to budge. i still have a week of ABs but it's not looking great. on the upside, DH is feeling better, but is still hobbling around like an old man and checking his temp every 15 minutes...
Leila is awesome and going through a really cuddly phase ATM. we are all being drowned in her hugs and sloppy kisses. too cute!
Jaz H sounds like a cheeky monkey lol, actually all our babies do.
Clare is your DH really bad with man flu too??? LMAO I wondered when PP was due, wow seems like there might be a baby every month. Cuddles are great aren't they, Logan has always been very affectionate.
I guess I am going to have to start thinking about getting a big boy bed and moving rooms soon, I will have to get a new car seat too. So much to think about lol. Off to the Big W sale this morning, see what Mat clothes I can pick up and some winter stuff for L.
jaz- thank you, st andrews is the most beautiful little town. they have a big market every saturday morning and everyone turns up- lots of hippies sit up on the hill playing drums and dancing. in the arvo everyone ends up at the pub across the road. everyone is so friendly and relaxed. i've bought lots of clothes from there and organic fruit and veggies, and they have the best falaffel rolls with tabouli and hommus. i'm sure they would appreciate all your help. there's not many people there- i think about 150? and 20 of them have died.
JazMum ... Ooh on bunk ladder. I was watching Jack climb the stock gate the other day & his feet where to levels from the top. I'm sure he was thinking how he is going to get over the blastered thing.
Clare: Thanks. I thinking snags & a bag of frozen vegies thrown in the microwave.
sorry to hear the tonsilitis is hanging around. Hope it improves in the near future for you.
Not long got home from dropping the boys off at d/c. Alex didn't want to get out of the car (I think he is very confused not going to the other carer's anymore) but Jack, he couldn't wait to get out of the car, trying before I could undo the carseat. Well I'm off for some serious cleaning (as tmorrow morn is out with Alex's ADHD app't) ... wish me luck, strength & energy, lots of it! haha
ttyl xox
MM your "uh oh" story is too cute. And Katie's too! E doesn't say it yet. I think it's because I've turned into a foul-mouthed trooper's wife and she can't yet say a string of expletives (:o). But we were on our way to school and DD1 was telling some long and rambly story (like usual) and all of a sudden I realised every time she said "Ummmmmm", I'd hear this little voice saying "Ummmm" from the back seat. Classic!
Andi - cold bbq chook and some ready-made potato salad from the deli!! That's what you get fed when you don't provide notice!!!
JaZaH, I don't know about "action" - I think a chocolate will prolly be as exciting as it gets.
Sorry ladies, GTG, I have a little monkey trying to climb my leg and force her favorite animal book at me to read so she can say Baaa for the cow and Roaaaah for the bunny rabbit (AGAIN).
MD! that sounds even better ... will have to remember to pick some up tomorrow. thx for the gr8 idea ... (unless i make my ex shout kfc! haha) ...
:D .. am tired, in a wacky mood :p
but thought it was cute when Jack climbed into my bed at 7.10 this morning, after sleeping in his cot
morning ladies
hope you all had a wonderful sleep.
md - chocolate would do the trick  are you nervous about tomorrow, or just going with the flow?
that is so cute about E saying Ummmmm. Hannah copies Jessica when she speaks.... Jess talks with her hands alot, and Hannah does it too when she's having a long babble. You could just eat them up, they're so cute!!!
Andie - did Jack climb out of his cot and then jump into bed with you? that would be a wonderful way to be woken.:)
clare - hope you're feeling better soon. doesn't sound like much fun.
oz - hope you find some good bargains today .
Hannah is having an early sleep today, so i'd best get off and do some ironing.
Rainy and Ange, I wish there was something I could do to help you guys out. The fires have been on the news here and I went down to an internet cafe to check you guys were o.k. I couldn't post because I couldn't stop crying about Ange's poor dogs. So much devestation, I just can't believe it.
Katie, I knew it!!! I thought Jan would be your month and you wouldn't give me an answer about your test result! Congrats.
MD, wishing you good luck for you op tomorrow, and much happy morphine for valentines day.
Sorry guys, hard to catch up. The move went well, still living out of boxes but most of our hoarded stuff has gone straight to the sleepout so there isn't too much clutter. We have a severe rain warning here today so I guess we will see if the house leaks (wish I could send our rain over to Vic).
William has handled the move well. He is saying so much it is amazing. I lost count after about 50 words, that was a couple of weeks ago but now they are so thick and fast I can't keep up. The cutest one is pie - he says 'more pie' and sounds just like Cartman lol
Sleeping is much better. I don't feed him at all during the night now and he doesn't expect it. I can usually get him back to sleep with a pat or worst-case pick him up and sing him back to sleep. He has done a couple of 8 hour nights. There was one night where he cried for half an hour and I couldn't get him to settle, eventually he saw a screwdriver on the table and was happy to go to sleep cuddling that (such a boy!)
MD - LOL at the ummmm. How cute!!
Arte - Sounds like cartman LOL too funny!!! Enjoy your new house, but be nice having a house of your own now & knowing that you wont have any unwanted people drop in to fix this & that?
Jaz - Yep M is the same with talking with her hands, its absolutely gorgeous.
Oz - Good luck hunting for bargains at the Big W sale! So excited for you.
I just saw a pic on news.com of totally burnt bush in the Kinglake area, with Melbourne city clearly in the background. I thought this area was a few hundred km's from Melbourne!!?? :o
Jazmum .. that is ecactly what Jack did, though I was awake from Alex coming in & asking to set his Thomas Road & Rail set up. If Alex spends the whole nite in his bed, occassionally he'll crawl into my bed for a cuddle when he gets up before going to play.
Arte, so pleased to hear you're in and getting set up! I was starting to fret about you, for some reason kept thinking of you everytime I was cleaning my teeth (??! Make of that what you will). Well done stowing all your stuff in the lean-to. Maybe I should build one of those for all the gear I can't fit in my house LOL. Is there plenty of room for W to play when it's raining? I can't *wait* for E to get some more words, it's driving me crazy because she is obsessed with dogs that say meYOW and cats that say meYOW (and apparently every other animal on the planet also says meYOW except for cows who say BAAA and bunnies who say ROAARRH) although we had a breakthrough at the pet shop the other day so she now screams (at the top of her lungs) BURDie BURDie whenever we're driving along and she sees so much as a pigeon. LOL
Andi - aw so sweet for morning cuddles. Much nicer than having a toddler peel back your eyelids to see if anyone's in there. LOL
JaZaH - soooo not nervous about tomorrow. Prolly should be and might be in the morning, but you know, it's like when you're going in for a needle. You know it is going to hurt, but then the pain will finish. It's just yuckky while it's happening, you just have to think about coming out the other side of it, kwim? And let's face it, chocolate awaits me 'on the other side' so it's worth bearing up for LOL. Your girls must be a whole bunch of gorgeous together!!
MD good luck tomorrow!!!
Arte yep you knew it lol. I had a good giggle about W sleeping with a screwdriver.
Jaz feel free to come around and do my ironing.
MM didn't get much today. Got L some winter clothes and that was about it. It was like a madhouse in there.
Andie what a lovely way to be woken up.
Got to go L is dragging me away from the computer.
ETA I am back, I knew he would just be dragging me to the cupboard. But now I have lost my train of thought, there was something I wanted to ask everyone too. I am sure it will come to me eventually.
MD - GOOD LUCK FOR TOMORROW! Will be thinking of you.
Oz - I went to the shops too & it was a nightmare.
Anyone else finding shopping these days even more impossible with a toddler? M today was a terror, am I the only one with a child who goes dead stiff when I try to put her in the pram or try to stop her from doing something? & I cant believe some of the looks people give you, especially older couples & other women, either they have never had kids themselves or they are the 'perfect parents'!!
I'm still feeling nauseous, its terrible! I chatted to DP about it last night, he said do another test, I did just before & very clearly a negative. SO thats ruled out at least, but wondering what else it is....!
MM, E doesn't go dead stiff, she flings herself backwards. Spectacularly hard, so I have to grab her and ease her down so she doesn't hit her head/fall onto or off furniture. All whilst shrieking and/or screaming. She had a tanty getting into the car this morning, had to resort to my old trick of pinning her groin in by planting my elbow where the bottom bit of the seatbelt is, that leaves you with TWO hands free for grabbing the straps and plugging them in.
LOL MD, we can laugh about it now but at the time its like omg!!! M sounds much the same, if she doesnt go stiff she throws herself on the floor, oh so dramatic, and has a cry. Toddlers!
Yep, DH and I had a conversation the other day where he suggested that I put DD into care for 2 days not one, specifically because of toddlerhood issues. LOL
