HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAP!!!!
how is that gorgeous little J going? i hope N gets over his cold quickly. pull out that vaporiser!
well i took lewis to mothers group yesterday for the first time in 3 months!...and all the mums were completely freaking out over how huge he is. he is a good head taller than all the other kids....and i have had to pack up most of his size 2 clothes, they are just too small! i can't get the bonds tops done up and the pants are all 3/4 length. i can't believe it! so now he'sgot hardly any clothes that fit.......luckily dh said i could have some $$$ and dad said we might take a little trip to......yep, you guessed it......Country Road on wednesday...woo hoooooo, dh is spewing they put this new store right near us!!!!
hope everyone is doing well. dh is supposed to be working today but he's still lying in bed with jimmy- slackers!!!!!
Rainy: i can't believe that L doesn't fit the size 2!!! that is so tall! leila is still well and truly a 0-1...my little gnome LOL!
PP: the close carrier looks good! i was always a bit intimidated by the apparent coordination of the HAB...no doubt one gets savvy, but i know my unco limits LOL!
Noni: really sounds like bubba blue is getting his shut-eye for the Big Event. you guys will be awesome and soon you'll be smothering him in newborn cuddles and love... xx
AFM: all good here. we are going to brave the shops and go to target for some b'day shopping for a little someone who turns 2 in about 5 weeks...omg. i am thinking a new dolly pram...but what else?? i would love a cubby house but with all our possible moving (and let's face it, the crap melbourne weather...) i am hesitant. so maybe for next year...so far i have got her the FP little people animal friends set from the BW sales...arrghhh i need ideas!! i was thinking maybe a cooking/tea set? and it would be cool to get her a mini table and chairs thingo...but might be better at ikea for that. oh, and dolls bath...she loves that stuff. and maybe some duplo...as you can see i have no idea....
Rainy, L must be so tall! He and Alister can form their own basketball team when they get bigger lol
Clare, I just got a little cash register and trolley from toy library and W has spent all morning beeping the groceries, loves it. A little table and chairs is good and those little foam couches, they seem to love having their own kid sized things.
What has happened to SupaB? Hope Trilll is having a good weekend away. Did she say where she was going? Hope it is somewhere fun and not some obligation weekend.
Hi all
Rainy & cally am taping east of everything atm
All is ok here j seems to also have a cold which is a bit of a worry makes feeding hard etc
He was v unsettled all day yesterday could not put him down for 12 hr think was his tummy called nurses and they told me not to eat chocolate!!! Not going to be easy!
N has been difficult today too avting up a lot & also rejecting me a bit which is hard and du
And I are v snappy so all in all rough day!
Need to feed bbl for personals sorry so selfish atm
just hang in there pappy
i absolutely promise you that it all gets easier
i found that once jimmy hit 4 months everything just fell into place and we all found our groove
let us know if there's anything we can do....not much from afar but probably just listen
PP: sounds like the newborn whirlwind is well and truly at your place! in a way, i guess there is comfort in that it is all normal and will pass...thanks rainy! there are gunna be crapulent days and with sick bubbas it's hard to avoid xx
i'm not going to be on much next week as i NEED to get up to toowoomba. opa asked me to come next week rather than this weekend but i am regretting listening to him. yesterday oma got really bad and couldnt breathe and had to be rushed to hospital. she was so 'lost' that when they asked her why she was there she kept saying 'to see A (my mum). it really distressed opa and now the drs are telling us she wont make christmas. i am a mess. my oma and opa raised me for a good part of my life and i think this must be what it's like to lose a parent in a way. it's hard to know that the person that showed you strength and raised you can no longer be that person...
ah well, sorry for going on, i just cant stop crying.
ROFL Arte! Funny you should say that about it being an obligation visit. Yes, we did have to make the effort to see my Dad Nan and Pop and my uncle I love visiting - my Uncle is more like my Dad and he treats me with more respect, but anyway, you can't choose your rellos can you? Dad just raves on about pointless **** and carries on about my brothers and sister and how they are this that and the other and are just 'no good oxygen thieves' and I feel like saying well FFS! if you were actually a father to us instead of being more intested in chasing bogan women and dissappearing for months at a time without telling us then they might not have turned out the way they did. So yeah, we have to pretend that we like to see him. We went to Albury, then down to Glenrowan to take the kids to Kelly Country LOL and then across to Corowa for a few days. Dad started hassling me about fb and asking if I were on there. I said yeah, but you wont find be because I can't be found by searching - plus i actually have him blocked LOL. I have no intention of adding him on fb either.
Anyway, I'm back and it will take me a day or two to catch up on everything around here LOL, so I'm sorry for not doing personals. I have missed you all though
Oh and PP and Cally (and anyone else who wants to come) I will be heading to Canberra on September 11, staying the 12th and then heading home on the 13th. So we will have to work out where to meet etc. I'm so excited about it!
Clare, I can't imagine how crappy that must be for you. Wish there was something I could do to help.
Trill, glad you survived the visit with your dad. Definitely a downer that you can't choose your family lol. Did he put his dogs out?
PAP, hope J doesn't get too sick. I couldn't eat chocolate until W started solids. It was a very long 6 months.
Rainy, I did it! I just put W to bed with a bottle and told him I had to fold some washing and would be back in a minute and he went to sleep by himself!!
woo hoo arte!!! i told you it would work! i'm so happy
now you just have to do it a few more times and soon....like today, i just pop him in the bed with a kiss, a bottle and a teddy and walk out.
clare- big hugs...sorry for everything you're going through
trill-welcome back. your dad sounds like a nightmare!
Oh Clare, so sorry to hear your Oma has taken a turn for the worse. You know we are all thinking of you and sending big mega cyber hugs (can ya feel them ???). Cry all you want sweetie, no good holding it in...you will want to be strong when you visit but you know what, it's ok to show your feelings while you're there too. xxx
PP - ah so sorry you're having a rough time, just remember, it will pass, it will get easier. Don't forget you can massage J's tummy and bicycle his legs and that might help too. xxx
Trill - ah you're one awesome family-surviving woman! Good on you, it sounds like you've worked out how to deal with your dad long-term and I reckon all power to you. xxx Nice to have you back
Arte - I'm so pleased for you! Well done, hope it continues and gets easier and easier!
Jazah - there's nothing slacko about you my dear, you're just busy off being a wonderful mummy!
Rainy we are having a clothing crisis too. I made the mistake of putting E in size 1's (which fit her when it first turned cold) but now she's bursting out of them and because i was broke during June (2 birthdays = never any money to lash out at the sales) and now there's no winter clothes left at any of the shops! Well, in size 1s and size 3s and freakishly lots of size 2 boys clothes, but nothing for girls (!!) Managed to find some long-sleeve ts at Kmart but that has been it...will just have to limp thru until spring now. With a little crack of singlet showing LOL.
Noni saw on FB you are still feeling better, hope DH is mending and you're getting more R&R now. Any niggles, any signs?
Kate - how are things going with you? I have been known to tip cold water in my DH when he's fallen asleep at inopportune moments (yep we did the hard yards in the early years of our life together) and needless to say, he now knows when to pay to attention. I found often the problem was that DH didn't realise how distressed I was over certain issues, once he understood how major it was he tried harder to sort it out, kwim? BTW - nice work on the cubby house!!
Katie - is your DH ok now? I'm sure L will go really well at FDC - it's a bit unsettling when they first start but you will find he'll love it and will thrive. It really adds something good to their lives to spend that time with someone who has a different way than you (i have found, anyway).
I've been wondering about Supa too...she did mention it was getting harder to get on the internet since they moved cos they're not getting their neighbour's free wifi anymore LOL.
Had a wonderful weekend here, met up with an oooooold friend who's been living in china, then lunch out up in the hills today - very nice. Missy E has coped remarkably well without a proper sleep this afternoon - suspect she will be in bed early tonight!
Hi all just a quick one from me as I am on I touch before I put n to bed
Trill look fwd to seeing u in sept cally will u be here?
Thx for all the reassurance I know just hard time that will pass Im just a lot more emotional this time too. N is being so hard think combination of toddler norm and new baby
We've been sick around here this weekend. Sarah brought a bug home and passed it around . Shes now developed a cough that is sounding not so good so am keeping an ear out and perhaps booking a gp appt to ease my mind.
DH and I are still struggling but getting somewhere at least. Put it this way...our wedding bands are back on our fingers, literally. Hes gotta make an appt at the doctors this week to check on his tiredness levels as well as lack of libido (part of the tiredness). I think this is a turning point...if he doesn't make an effort to visit the dr then it sorta shows that he's not interested in making the marriage work. I think he's more worried about losing S then losing me. Anyway...I' m feeling pretty serene about it all. Sort of like Que Sara Sara. Don't get me wrong, still have breakdown moments but have got a game plan in place if things do head south.
Enough about me and this selfish little post....like I said before hugs all round (and yep, i'll take as many back as I can..)
Kate, we are all here for you, not that we can do much but feel free to vent away. I know that when things have been really rough between DH and I it is only W that makes us make the effort to get things going again.
Noni, hope there is some action at your place soon.
MD, I met up with one of my high school best friends a while back, we hadn't seen each other since we were about 18. It was good to catch up, but after the who is doing what catch-up it got awkward - she talked for about 15 minutes about some weird medical condition she has that gives her stomach ache and red urine and I was really glad when DH and W walked by and I made and excuse to go lol. It is really hard to find a groove when you haven't seen someone for ages.
We were up for 3 hours with W last night, he won't stay in his bed by himself and wakes up and throws a massive wobbley if you try to leave. Not sure what to do next.
