MD, good luck with uni, I like to think that most people are reasonable and would realise that you have had a lot on your mind. It is a secret shame of mine that I like Hannah Montana - purely to catch a glimpse of Billy Ray!! Achey Breaky Heart will always be one of the best for me.

MM, I find that with pay t.v there is still nothing on - just takes longer to find out lol. Is your DH still enjoying the plasma?

Rainy, that does sound like W. He sleep talks sometimes about the most random things - the other night he woke talking about batteries, he is obsessed with them. Out of the entire toy catalogue he went past all the toys and spent ages looking at the ad for batteries lol
I wouldn't worry about L's talking yet, there are a bunch of kids from sept-oct 07 at mothers group that range in vocab from W who is perfecting syntax to another boy who has not a single word and then there are about 4 kids at various stages inbetween. They all say that boys are slower to talk too. Apparently heaps of kids will go from not much language to heaps of words really quickly at around the 2 year mark. But as MD said, if you are worried get on a waiting list because you can always pull out if he is talking by the time the appointment rolls around.

Clare, I missed your post about you grandfather. No wonder you are in a funk. Wish I could do something to cheer you up.

Cally, hope that K doesn't have whooping cough. It has been around town here lately and I was worried when W picked up his latest cold - he still hasn't had his 15 month immunisations (mix of constant colds and uncertainty on my part)

Aww, congrats to the PAP (newly extended) family. I had tears reading of how proud her DH is of our beautiful PAP. I wish you a fantastic babymoon and can't wait to hear how it all turned out...and of course the wonderful naming announcment.

Loving having the cricket back on - can pop on here in the evenings and not feel at all guilty because DH is plastered to the TV!!

MD - fingers crossed the uni is lenient on you. great news on the liver front.

Rainy - K only has said a couple of words and they aren't often repeated IYKWIM? The speechie we saw wasn't too worried as DH and I both spoke quite late and K was obviously fully understanding everything that was asked of her. We were told to try and make her vocalise instead of point (like do you want milk or juice - but don't have them there in front of her at first so she can point to them), have toys that she can make noises with (ie cars that you can make beep beep noises as you move them around so she gets the idea from that). The big one for us was not to talk in full sentences, just focus on the key word. Rather than say 'Did you want some more?', just say 'more?' Also encourage her to say it afterwards 'more. Katie say more'. Also it probably took us almost 2 months between the referral from the MCHN and actually seeing the speechie through the public system.

Noni - hope the excema isn't too bad, I'm sure she will get the hang of showers quickly.

Can't say I have seen much of Hannah Montana, but seeing as I record H2O, Just Add Water (great teenage mermaid show) I think I would probably be into it.

The doctor didn't ring back today so I'm not sure to take it that they aren't concerned or that she didn't get the message. Although the receptionist I spoke with has a daughter in the toddler group and I know they play with each other a fair bit so I think for her own peace of mind she would have made sure the doctor got the message.

Some of my school friends are getting together (without babies) for dinner next week and DH told me I should go up to Canberra for the night so I think I will do that. Will be staying with my sister so I can catch up with her too so that will be good. I'm having all of next week off work so will have to take DD out by herself a few afternoons to make it up to DH (especially as he will be home with her all the next week)

    hey everyone,
thanks for the hose idea md i got dp to pick one up and it worked a treat.. we are only using sorbelene to wash her except for her hair and are using after the bath too as shes quite dry.. dr isnt sure if its eczema for sure yet but we have a paed appt today so maybe he can clear it up for me.. spent 2 hours on the phone yesterday ringing around to different paed offices trying to get asha in to talk about allergy testing as well as to get her rash looked at and a possible asthma assesment *sigh* why now?? finally got someone to feel sorry for me because before this place the only appt i could get was september!! even with private paeds which this one is too! basically she just double booked me coz i said id be happy to wait if it meant we could see someone, me being so heavily pregnant and also considering asha has come up in welts a few times now and we dont know what it is!! eeek
anti natal appt this morning and that this avo shopping and lunch in between with mum.. gonna be a big day! ive been so lazy lately too just laying around, no motivation or energy!!
interesting re kids that cant switch their brains off i think that might be Asha too.. even when she comes into bed with us sometimes she will roll over in the middle of the night and shake u to wake u up and just look at you with very wide eyes and say "hiiiii mummy" its very cute but can be very frustrating in the middle of the night!!
md - meant to say also have my fingers and toes crossed for you!!
must be off gotta start getting my crap together for the day hope everyones having a lovely morning and maybe even a sleep in!!

Actually that makes sense, they are always on the go during the day, must be hard to switch off their brains at night. I know if I dont have a 'wind down' time after work or a full day, I take forever to get to sleep.

Noni - What a mission trying to get an appt. Glad you got one in the end, hope you can get some answers and get to the bottom of it.

Cally - Thanks for that info it has helped me too. I will start trying using one words and encouraging her to repeat.

MD - I like your idea of booking for a speechie now & cancelling if need be. Might do that for M actually. I am actually thinking of having her hearing tested, she always had ear aches when she was younger & I notice her ear is often really gunky - dont know if that would be anything suss but the doc always comments on it but doesnt seem bothered. How did uni go? I start back at uni in a couple of wks

Arte - LOL Billy Ray are you serious!? HEHEHEHE so funny. YES DH is still loving his plasma. As for foxtel, its a bit over rated I think, but we are on the basic $40 a month package anyway. The top package is like $100 odd a month!!!!

Rainy - Good luck with J's needles.

Off to toddler town with M this morning, seeing as we had an indoor day yesterday & toddler gym has finished for the term. I signed her up again for next term, its only $75 per term & she loves it. Apart from that it works off so much steam she has a good sleep after it.

Does anyone know what age they start dancing? M is still loving her dancing, I think she will be like me & my sisters, we are all dancy people lol.

Kate - I don't think the new series starts for a while (says late 2009). I'll help you keep an eye out!!

Noni - how did you busy day go? Did you have to wait for the paed for long?

Only one more day until the school holidays. I think DD is really ready for it, the last two days when DH has picked her up she has been sitting in the pram - happy, but not wanting to be out and about with all the other kiddies.

The doctor rang back today saying chances of DD having whooping cough are less than 5% but we can get her tested if we want. Not sure if I will bother, she is home for the next two weeks anyway so won't be infecting people if she does have it, the cough is getting better and it's a pretty slim chance she has it.

Hi all, just wanted to jump on and tell you all it was APPROVED!! WOOHOO and uh-oh cos now I actually have to churn out a coupla essays

Noni, glad the shower hose thing worked...I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a few visits to the drs to get to the bottom of the skin thing. It will be a relief to you to get the allergy testing done, tho, I imagine.

CAlly that's a relief about the whooping cough, it does sound like it's given you the miss.

Busy day today, went to the farm barn to play with the animals - lambs, baby goats, fluffy chickens, bunnys, milked a cow, fed emus & deer and stuff, etc. Unfortunately E was a bit past it because DD1 exclaimed loudly in the car just after E snoozed off on the way there (long drive) and she woke up and refused to sleep for the rest of the day. I'm very tired too after a record breaking episode of insomnia last night. GP has given me a script for sleeping pills but I loathe the very idea of them so it all depends on how desperate I get I spose! Anyone else used them??

BTW Arte - finished watching BSG and the final ep was an absolute ripper!

    Hi everyone
I had time to catch up on the goss, as DH is watching Transformers

Md - I'm so happy that you got the approval from Uni. Also absolutely fanatastic news with regards to your body beginning the healing process. I can't wait to see the Hannah Montana movie - I also like the character of Jackson, he's hilarious.

Clare - I'm so sorry that you have had a family member pass. I'll keep your oma in my prayers as well.

Leanne - you've been having such a fun time lately lovey! It's so uplifting reading your posts here and on facebook - you've alot to smile about

Cally - i had to laugh when you said you tape H20. My girls love it, and i have to say i enjoy watching it too. My eldest, Jess, wants me to buy her a H20 locket - "they're only $100 mummy'.

MM - once you start watching some of the crappier shows, you'll be addicted to your foxtel lol.

trill - i hope your family is feeling better today. It's not much fun when they're sick.

rainy - how are you feeling?

Kate - are you having a catch-up with Leanne? Sounds like fun!

Arte - hope you're doing well

Hi to anyone that i've missed.
I'm going to try and keep up from now on.

    hey everyone,
well appts went well.. bubby is 4/5 engaged but they said on the scan report he was 3/5 so hes probably gonna move in and out right up to whenever it is ill go into labour now.. theyve given me a warning about my iron levels, midwife said i have an anemic look about me haha i shouldnt laugh but i just couldnt help it.. she said i have 2 weeks to take some supplements and then they will do a blood test coz they need to know before the birth how low i am because if i drop below a certain level after the birth its blood transfusion eeeeep thats a pretty good insentive to take the supplements!! she recomended a liquid one coz im having alot of trouble with the tablets.. i tried it this morning and its not TOO bad haha none of them are nice tho.. gonna take it for a week and see if i think its making a difference and if i dont feel a big difference i might go to the go and just have 1 injection to top it up or something yuck damn iron!!
Ashas appt went well too paed said he dosnt know if she has asthma but if she does its not a bad case atm so just something to monitor for now.. her skin he pretty much suggested the same things our gp did as well as sorbelene 3 times a day atm because her skin is quite dry and flakey.. he gave us a referal for the allergy testing but said there was a chance they wouldnt find what it was because there are sooo many things she could be allergic to.. he said to keep a close handle on what shes eating and if i suspect a certain thing i can test it at home.. for anyone whos interested he said all you do is first take that food and rub it on the back of the hand where the skin is tough, leave it for half an hour and then wash it off, if theres no sign of reaction you can rub a small amount on the lips and keep a close eye on it if theres still no reaction your ok to go ahead and feed it to them and then if still no reaction its obviously not that particular food..
md - sooo glad everything got approved!! get cracking on those essays hehe!!
cally - we didnt wait long at all.. glad she booked me for 4 tho, everyone with their school kids seemed to be turning up just after my appt wont be making a later appt then 4 there ever!!
mm - how was toddler town? i think dancing classes start at 2? not sure tho..
anyways hope everyone is well.. am going to go and bludge before its time to get Ash ready.. its her day with my mum today, and thank god because i am soooo tired!! tho if i dont do some housework i think dh will have a nervous breakdown the house is really bad atm!! hopefully ill squeeze in a rest too tho!

Noni - Enjoy your baby free day, I hope you can get the housework done. Yesterday I swept & mopped the floor & the house is gleaming, but for how long I wonder hehe. I hope the iron injections tablets work, I was anaemic too. Do you eat red meat? Good news about A's asthma, hope the allergy testing comes up with some results so you know.

    Kate - YAY so jealous!

MD - Oh woo hooo glad uni approved it. How could they not? You would have to be a pretty heartless person.

Cally - How is the balance of work/daycare going anyway? Sounds like K needs a little break from it, perfect timing.

Jazmum - YEP we have discovered all the crappy, hillarious shows on foxtel. Last night was 'naked & funny' (noooo its not porno lol) Have you seen that one? DH & I were wetting ourselves laughing.

Went down to Big W sale last night to put a couple of things on lay by. However both things I wanted (water play table & little bike thingo) had sold out. Probably because they were so cheap lol. So will be doing some ringing around today trying to track them down.

    hi girls!

Leanne: aww! i wish i still lived in brissy as i would SO be there!!!!

Noni: so are you gunna try the test on Asha with the tomato? i vote for the injections! they are so much easier, especially for a quick boost. i am soooo over taking iron supplements it aint funny. the only thing to consider with the liquid ones is that they are not as strong, so you may not be getting enough iron from them...maybe ask the pharmacist and see what they reckon.

MD: you go girl! but yeah bummer that you have to the essays LOL!

MM: yeah there were HEAPS of things that i wanted from the sales, but i was 3 days late and most had already gone so annoying!

JaZ: everyone i know has been harping on about this transformers stuff! i must have been hiding under a rock lately cause i totally missed that boat!

Cally: have you planned anything to do with K while holidays are on? i can HIGHLY recommend farm visits if you have them around! like MD mentioned, they are great fun and the kids can go nuts!

Rainy: how did mr J go with the needles?

wonder how Ange is...enjoying her island escape....

AFM: all good here. disliking the cold big time, but am feeling positive about tomorrow's auction. no doubt it wil be a fizzer and we still wont have a place, but i *think* i have prepped myself enough to cope if we dont. that said, i am over our current lodgings...we can no longer shut Leila's door and we can no longer open ours if we close it...grrrrr.
we have been noticing that Leila's comprehension is really rocking ATM. we can now do alot of recall of the days events and she really engages with it. so much fun! she managed to tell her Papa all about the childrens farm and all the animals we saw and patted. Too cute!
