Hi guys!
James was born 26th August 3.61kg 53cm Breastfeeding. Nights are better than days. Roughly feeds 6pm in bed at 7pm next feed is 11pm & then 3am & then up at 7am. Feeding 3-4hrs during the day but wakes up constantly during his sleeps grunting lots n generally think he wants to be held or put dummy back in! Didn't think he would become so dependent on me/dummy to sleep already

He also has mild reflux & is currently on a low dose of Zantac & is a very windy baby hence the grunting. Am using gripe water, infants friend & infacol, can't say either one is doing the trick at the moment!
Having an 18month old & 5 week old is proving to be challenging esp when I am constantly resettling James through the day....but we'll get there.

This is a very quiet thread....

I wonder how all the August babies and their mums are doing?

I have no idea what happened to September, the days are passing so fast and I can't believe my DS will be 8weeks old on Monday! DD has continued to be a very loving big sister and the poor guy thinks his name is "baby brother" as that is all she will call him.... and it has caught on. We are still up usually 2-3 times overnight and he doesn't settle until around 10pm. But last night he slept from 10-5 - if only I had gone to bed at 10 when he did

Know what you mean. Weeks are flying by! DD2 has cut to 4 feeds a day and sleeping through (awesome). Can be fussy at breast at times. Still spewing up heaps tho. Loves to scream and make her presence known at about 5 every afternoon.

Hey ladies

My not so little man

is 9 weeks old tomorrow! I cannot believe how quickly it has gone, we have had such an amazing time. He goes down to sleep at 7:30pm and sleeps all the way through until 6/7am its amazing. Its been excellent since i am so horribley sick to get a good nights sleep. He's now onto 200mls every 3-4 hours having 4-5 bottles a day which isn't too bad.

He's a boof! Into 000's and infant size nappies and has been for nearly 2 weeks. I'm so bad i keep squeezing him into 0000's just so i can pretend i have a little baby, haha! DD was just so tiny for so long so its so different having a chubby bub but its great, he is great.

He can get very unsettled which can be stressful but for the most part hes a very smiley cheeky boy.

Can I ask does ur lil man take a dummy and how does he go down for his day/night sleeps? How does he sleep during the day?

He's not a fan of the dummy

I do use it to calm him down when he gets himself worked up but i have to hold it in his mouth and he gives it a good rough suck! LOL its so funny to watch and hear him going at it, but he uses it for comfort. My DD loved her dummy from word go.

During the day he sleeps quite a bit still. So hes awake at either 6 or 7 i do the changing him thing, feed and sometimes a bath. We have plays and he has cuddles with DD then hes down for a nap at 9/9:30 and will sleep until 11 have another feed go back down for a sleep back up at around 2/3 for a feed have some more plays and cuddles then he hits his time of day where he gets really unsettled so i spend lots of time cuddling and singing to him and then 6:30/7 he has a feed then 7:30 he goes to bed.

Some days its different, he may sleep longer or wake during the night.

Hi gals,

All well here too ... my chubster will be 8 weeks on Monday and is already 7kg, 64cm and into 00 clothes. Our CHN reckons he looks like a six-month-old LOL.
He's breastfeeding every 2-3 hours during the day (er, no wonder he's such a big boy!), and I'm getting 6-8 hours out of him at night. He usually wakes some time between 2.30am and 4am for a feed, then back to sleep for another couple of hours. At least it feels like I'm getting enough sleep, thank goodness. Some days DS3 sleeps quite a bit, other days he'll only catnap - on those days I now know he'll scream and scream at witching hour as he's desperate for a huge sleep, but is overtired and can't settle in to a deep sleep. It happened tonight - he screamed and cried for 90 minutes. You'd think he'd quietened and gone to sleep, and two minutes later "WAH!". Anyway, between DH and I, we finally got him down for a sound sleep around 8pm. Bliss!

I catch myself thinking "he's my last baby" quite often, so I'm really enjoying taking the time to sit down and cuddle him, goo and gah with him and absorb the many smiles he gives us. He's a sticky beak and a chatty little fella, so cuddle time is lovely.

Just thought I would do a quick check-in before bed - its a late one for me, normally go to bed after the kids these days!

We're 10 weeks tomorrow, cant believe its flown - a whole school term. She's been wearing 00 for a bit and topping the scales at close to 6kgs already! So weird having a bigger bubba but she's adorable and feminine, has the most divine eyelashes.

Sleeping really well but we're mostly co-sleeping. My partner has really embraced it which is nice.

She doesnt like the car so much any more, school runs have become very stressful driving 30 mins each way on a 100kph road! Halfway on the way up we get tears that build up to hysterics

But other than that all good.

That's tough Kelly - crying bubbas in car seats are tough to manage when you're travelling 100km/h! Hope you have a nice loud stereo in the car

DS3 lurrrves the car - he can be screaming at the top of his lungs as he's put in the car and by the time we're 30 seconds down the street he's in the Land of Nod. But ... he's not so fond of the pram. Generally speaking, I get about 20 minutes of happy bubby in the pram, then Wahhhhhh!

My dd1 hated the pram. Until we put sheepskin in both it and her bed. As soon as she was in it she went to sleep all the time.

No good in the pram here either!! I cant wait to get out in the sun for more walks but it ends up so stressful at the moment unless I carry her! Argh!!!

Will try the sheepskin - totally forgot about that but weather is getting hotter too :-/

Pretty good here OLP. Having more trouble with my DD (2y old), she has been waking up 3-4 times a night! DS on the other hand is sleeping from 9ish to 5am for the past 4 nights, I can't quite believe it. It makes the days so much easier when you have a few hours sleep up your sleeve. Been busy with a stream of visitors and DP's brother staying with us till Xmas. Hope everyone else is good. How's your bubba OLP?

Hi ladies,

How's things with you all and your bubs?

DS3 had his vaccinations on Monday and has sailed through. He was weighed too, and he's 7.8kg and 66cm

He's easily the size of an average six month old and is even starting to stretch his 00s. At 10 weeks I sometimes wonder where my "little" baby went - it feels like we skipped that phase!!

All in all he's doing well. Most of his wind problems have disappeared and he's starting to sleep better during the day. He slept for over 14 hours last night - I couldn't believe it! He'd catnapped for the previous few days, so I knew a "sleepy day" was coming up. He had his bath late in the afternoon, and at 4.30pm he was crotchety, so I put him down for a sleep. And boy did he sleep! I woke him at 10pm for a feed (he didn't really wake up but BF'd well), he woke at 4am for a feed and went straight back to sleep ... and at about 7am he decided it was time to wake up!! Unreal. I don't expect that will happen again anytime soon, and I do wonder if it was connected to having been vacc'd on Monday. Whatever the case, he obviously needed it

Wow Andi, he's a decent size! Last MCHN visit Amaya was close to 6kgs and was 57cms I think? She was 55cms born so not sure if thats right, I forget. In 00's comfortably!

Non vaxing here.

Had my first run in with lower supply yesterday, Amaya was pretty much feeding all night for the first time, have been so exhausted today with next to no sleep. Made lactation cookies though and seem to be back on track this arvo, but will alter the recipe as I dont think I had it right. They were nice, but not as nice as I was expecting.

Amaya is poking out her tongue heaps, its so funny, she can touch all the way down to her chin and laughs - must have a long tongue from me lol! Cooing and making excited noises lots now. Shes such an angel.

We're still cosleeping which has been great, not been pacing the hallway for hours or anything as yet, just a couple of bad nights early on but its been great getting o.k. sleep. No joy in the car or pram yet (school runs are a killer 25-30 min each way) and had a meltdown today over it, as its resulting in me feel pretty housebound when all I want to do is get a walk in the sun sometimes, or go buy myself something for lunch.

Hope everyone is doing well and all those brothers and sisters are enjoying their new siblings. I know mine are besotted and love helping - gaps are so awesome!!!!!

Hi all! Ava is coming up to 12 weeks and is also in 00s!! Her big sister was so tiny for so long it's quite amazing! Loves her milk and is still feeding well. Bf and co-sleeping is making such a difference, I feel so sad that I denied my instincts with DD1 in terms of co-sleeping and babywearing. Oh well, she's such a gorgeous big sister I can't have gone too far off course with her :-)

Ava had her hip ultrasound at 6 weeks - SOP for breech bubs - and she's fine. I have been taking her to my chiro to help her with alignment and sinus issues. It's a work in progress!

She is incredibly hard to settle between about 7-9. Wednesday night DH and Itook shifts. 3.5 hours of rocking, pattong, singing, feeding... Wow she has some staying power!!

Busy couple of weeks coming up - DD1 turns 2 on the 18th! My parents are coming to stay so I'm gearing ul for the criticism re: co-sleeping and babywearing...

PP - we had trouble settling her around then too, but I started noticing a pattern and jumped into bed with her at 8-8.30 and she feeds then falls asleep - so much easier now, hardly any crankiness unless we're late doing it! Then I get a bit of time with DP most nights before we sleep too.
