Mini sorry to hear your having problems feeding it's extra work pumping and bottle feeding, have you tried a nipple shield at all? with my first son I had issues because he couldn't cope with feeding as he was really jaundiced and couldn't latch on and would scream when the flow started but they gave me a nipple shield in hospital and I'd express to fill it then he'd just drink from that, worked for us and about 8weeks I weaned him as his little mouth was big enough to latch on.

Finally had the clinic nurse come out to check Easton today and he was weighed and he's put on 570gms since we left hospital lol someone loves his milk.... Going to the paediatrician tomorrow for his check up and as my pead is a big formula doesn't believe in Breast milk guy and pushes top ups etc... I will be proud to say see I have plenty of milk for him lol

Hope everyone's doing well this week

Mini, that must be very frustrating for you. I hope L gets it soon so you can have an easier time of feeding him. I have a friend who experienced the same thing, just has to EBM feed her littlie.
Good on you Easton for the weight gain. Woo hoo.
We had our first night at home last night. DH was working so we were on our own but it was actually really nice and I didn't feel any pressure to quickly quieten him, which I felt at the hospital (self imposed coz I didn't like being woke up every 30 minutes by someone else's crying baby not from the nurses). We had to have a second jaundice blood test before we were allowed to leave because the doc thought he still looked off colour. I kept telling them "no he just has my colouring" after the first test came back fine. When the second test came back exactly the same they finally believed me.
I tell you I live this mothering gig. The furkids are not so sure about him yet but they are slowly getting used to him. They don't love his crying but he couldn't care less about them barking .

Mini waking to pump is so much more exhausting than waking to feed. Look after yourself

Blue I found my paed to be the same way inclined. Sounds like your boy needs no top ups at all!! Healthy boy! Way to go you

Miloro you sound so smitten with your little boy it's lovely.

Little H is doing well. Growing and changing and making me proud my family adore him and I love seeing them swoon over him. DP and I are doing better. Finally breaking the drought seems to have put us both in a better mood. Little H and I both have our 6wk check ups next week! Eek where has that time gone..

We had our first challenging night last night. Hunter was so unsettled. Eventually he got to sleep at about 1:30 for four hours but before that he would eat, sleep for five-ten and wake up crying again. I felt so useless. I ended up co-sleeping from 1:30 so I didn't disturb him after his feed. He is such a little angel, I hate it when he gets so upset.

Miloro I hope last night was better for you. Sometimes I think they just want to be right with you.

We had a good night last night! Boob and bum change at 11.30, 3.30 and 6.30. I wake up more often though to check on him.
I had to have an mri yesterday so my mum came along and minded him for 40 minutes or so. I spent the whole time worrying if he was hungry and leaking on my hospital gown

Very quiet in here - hows everyone going?

Busy here. I'm awake most of the night with my party animal who loves to sleep during the day. Went to the health nurse and he's gaining well. 150gms in a week and well over his birth weight. Wound from surgery has healed well. He's still not feeding well so onward we soldier....
    Peace...all ok with MRI?
    Hugs miloro.

Oh how life is certainly busy with 4!
So happy though Laila has been such an easy going bub. She has been cluster feeding lately which has been a bit tiring. I've also started expressing some off to freeze one bag already in the freezer just doing a second bag now.
I measured her length last night she has grown 2cm! She has also grown in head curcumfrence 2cm too! Already almost out of 0000 in length! So booby milk must be doing good!
I'm still bleeding though somedays gone somedays almost period like. I am thinking my whole bleeding problem may still be here like with the boys. So when I see my ob at six week check it will be time too do bloods and anything else to find out why it happens and what we can do to stop it (as no more pregnancies to stop it for 9 months) I was so hoping it wasn't going to happen again but just feel that's wishful thinking.

Thanks guys, the last couple of nights have been better, both nights we had two four hour periods of sleep and could have gone more but I woke him to feed coz my boobs were just killing me. I think it may have been something I ate the other day which must have upset his little tummy (lots of cheese ) so I'll just be a little more conscious of what I eat from now on and not over indulge. I swear I could just spend all day looking at him and I think I might wear his skin out from all the kissing. So in love.

Ashie, that must be a real pain. I hope you and the OB are able to get some answers and a solution to the bleeding.
Peace, how did the MRI go?
Mini glad to hear L's wound is healing, but I hope he starts feeling better soon.
    Take care everyone.

Haha bugger miloro! Lovely to read that your enjoying your little man. Its a different love to anything I've experienced that's for sure.

Good on you ashie it sounds like your doing beautifully at feeding your little girl. Its so rewarding seeing them grow. Hope that bleeding problem gets sorted for you. I bled for 3.5 - 4 weeks and hated it.

Mini glad your little ones gaining well too and your still soldiering on with your feeding.

Not sure with the mri yet ill get results during the week. Hope everyone had a lovely fathers day with their families. I spent the day with my family and dp did his own thing. Sigh. Not even going there.

Lovely Peace. Baby smiles lift your heart don't they?

We had out home midwife appointment today. The little guts has put on 285g in eight days - well above the average apparently. He has grown 3cm since birth too. Little man is growing too quickly. He is still a peach at night, we finally worked out the side lying feeding last night too. Though I fell asleep before putting him back in his basket so he got extra mummy cuddles.
    Hoping you are all well.

Mini im sorry its not been working for you. Your working so hard though and every day you can keep it up is worthwhile. Many would have given up by now.

Miloro im glad your little mans growing good and healthy sounds like your doing a grest job.

We have both had our six week check ups this week. Mine was fine. Im taking yhe mini pill now whilst bfing. Hopefully its effective. Sad to leave the obs office without making another appointment though!
Henrys went great as well. He's 5kg now still refusing to smile at anyone but his mummy. Cheeky boy. Vaccinations are due too. Might have to get dp to take him in for them...poor baby.

    Hows is everyone?

    Wow.little h is getting.big. sounds.like you're.doing well.
My Mr is going well. He's 4.weeks tomorrow. I'm still pumping away. I tried a supply line to help.with bf but I find it more trouble than its worth. $80 down the drain. I'm obviously keen to bf but its.not really progressing so I'll try a little longer as long as mind hangs out. He's putting on loads of weight so I'm happy. Almost smiling too.

Sorry about the typos...I'm on my phone.

Im having a crap day. H was a really restless sleeper last night, so we stayed in bed for the first half of the day trying to rest but I still just feel like a slug. This afternoon I cannot get him off me! He just wants boob and eats so much hes chucking a little at the end. I cant put him down or leave him on the bed after a feed and sneak away because hes crying the second I do. Im not worried about supply at all - I know hes getting enough. I think he just wants to suck so ive been trying to reintroduce the dummy he had in scn but its hard getting him to take it. Is it normal for him to take a bit of persuading to suck on it or should I try a different brand?
My lc's in hospital recommended no dummies for the first six weeks while trying to establish bfing so ive been waiting but I can't be his dummy anymore its driving me mad

Peace L has had a nuk dummy since birth she only spits it when she wants a feed otherwise she is happy to suck away lol.

I stopped bf over a week ago but from the first day the change in Miss was worth it. She was too the point of screaming on the boob 24/7 boobs felt empty she was fussing on them, and she ended up not sleeping soon as I changed her she slept 4 hours and since then at least 2x 4 hour a day. She hasn't even looked or boob so much more content and happy on formula.she is so much more placid even my boys were not at this age, and she is happy to sleep (not all night) but night time she isn't unhappy anymore.
Didn't take long for boobs to go back to pre pregnancy size within a week.
Little miss is starting to smile too already! Has given me a few smiles and even gave her daddy his first smile yesterday! She has happy wake periods sits in her bouncer and watches tv and loves to interact with us. Best thing since the switch she now likes being wrapped and to sleep in her cot! Now mummy has to break the habit of not putting her in our bed lol.

Thats great that you have figured out what works for you ashie. She looks just beautiful and very content.

H will not give me a break. He wont take a dummy most of the time and if he does, hes rejecting it after a minute. He just wants boob constantly and wont let me put him down. Its only been the last few days but its getting draining very quickly. Im starting to dread being left alone with him when dp goes to work. I dont know how much longer I'll go on bfing. I really wanted to do it long term but its really hard. Maybe I need to get a pump so I can leave him with my mum just for a short break. Im getting her to come over most nights and just be with him so I can just not have him on me for a little while. Im sure hes picking up on my vibe and its making things worse. Gah! I felt like I was doing really well and now I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing.
