New dawn - hehe for pointing down - they taught me that one in the hospital and I learned the hard way that it's really important (several loads of bassinet linen washing over the course of 2 days)

crumpet - woohoo for sleeping through! after a few dodgy nights, last night was much better - asleep at 7:30, next feed not until nearly 1am - as I'd gone to bed at 8pm, I actually had a good night's sleep (except woke with a headache unfortunately)

lilias - big, big hugs - that's so not fun. Any reasons for unsettledness like wind or reflux?

Mitz - big hugs to you too - it's nice when they just want mummy, but also sometimes not so nice when there's other things that need doing!

Anise - hope the soreness passes soon - I had to express on my right side for a while to give it a break, but now it's all smooth sailing

Disgirl - I hear you on the garlic and oninons - I've eliminated everything I can think of from my diet to see if it helps with DS's gassiness, today's new experiment is eliminating soy (which is hard since I've already eliminated dairy - no cereal with soy milk for me).

fo3 - hi! no such thing as being slack when you're a new mum! don't even think that I think it's amazing that anyone is able to post in here at all! Good job, girls!

csab - hugs to you for your sad anniversaries today - aren't the little bubs we have even more precious because of them

So, long sleeved/legged outfits are so wasted over here - haven't had DS in one at all yet - if I had another summer bub I'd invest in heaps of singlet suits - they're the most used clothing item here.
Had appt with CHN this morning - good to talk over things - DS has put on another 300g in the last week, so he's up to 5.6kg now - at least all the long feeds have been good for something!
DH's birthday tomorrow, so need to make a card to go with the presi - we already celebrated on Sunday, so tomorrow's a pretty normal day - I asked him if he wanted something in particular for dinner and he said whatever I'm making is fine, so no effort required here! A friend who is an amateur photographer is popping around tomorrow morning to meet DS and take some pics, so hopefully I can get him to smile for the camera - he's just started giving big grins this week (usually after a feed) Love, love, love the smiles! Makes it easier to cope with the cranky times!

Hi Ladies, sorry i have been super quiet lately, been very busy and trying to focus on the kids more and less on the computer.

Have been trying to read but sometimes it gets away from me.

Am not great emotionally at the moment, today is a year since my BFP and the start of 20hrs of medical stuff ups that almost cost me my life, finishing with the emergency ectopic surgery. Also have been trying to process Mollys birth and the wrong/right decisions we made with my care throughout her pregnancy. With DH being away so 12 of the last 14days im bushed and confused with all this. I am just so thankful i have molly to gaze at, she really is perfect and a true gift from above. So sorry about my lack of personals, im sure ill bounce back soon. Miss Moo is also 6 weeks tomorrow and i am in complete denial over how quick it os going Disgirl hehe! Dont worry about me, i just wanted to let you know why i have taken a bit of a step back from BB, FB and my mobile phone! Loving the familytime tho.

Love you all and will BBL!

DS3 has been a bit unsettled today, I think it was the garlic and onions in the home-made hamburgers last night.
thats made me want hamburgers for dinner!

Well, as I mentioned to Disgirl, I have some sick kids again, DD2 yet she is at school, Little V and bubba chloe. Poor little things. Poor little Chloe is having a ahard time with the sniffles. Ohh and the smiles she gives me, with her little noises she makes is just too cute. Yet as soon as she gives a smile, a frown on her face soon follows. lol. She looked cranky on her u/s pics, its so funny to see her still giving that cranky look. lol. She is losing some of her hair, which looked quite dark when she was born but has gotten lighter over time, still darker then V's though. Yet will be interesting to see how light her hair gets. I love the way she tries to talk to me, really cute. I will talk to her and she replies. love it.
    oh no!
hope the kids get better soon hun!

Im sorry no personals honestly ive only just skimmed the last page :S WOW has it been a crazy 3 weeks in this house. Good nights n bad ones.Last night was awesome Phoebe went to sleep at 8:30pm and didnt wake till 3am WOOOOO so freakin impressed!! Cant beleive she is 3 weeks already it has gone way to fast and she is growin too fast too.

Do hope you are all ok and i will try to pop on more just has been so full on lil miss has decided that sometimes she just like to cry everytime she is put down lol
spew bout ur milk going away hun!
glad everything is going well other than that though!

Crumpet - So glad Summah is doing well, its nice to have such a trouble free bub. Your doing a wonderful job. As for No.2, I thought I would only have 2, then when I did and it was another boy, I wanted another, then I lost that one and the next, then finally got my DD, then unexpectedly feel pg with DD2 when BFing, then I still felt like something was missing then tried again to have another 2 losses then little V, then i just didnt want V to be alone, and surprisingly ended up pg with Chloe. I wont be having anymore, yet I still have to keep reminding myself of that. lol. Absolutely hopeless arent I. hugs

Forgot to mention that it is the anniversary today for the loss of my twins (it has been 8yrs) also the passing of my dad just 6yrs ago. Cant believe how time has flown.
    thanks hun!
its great to have such a easy baby, i really was prepared for a nightmare baby but she has been such a pleasant suprise!! im hardcore she doesnt change!!

oohhh i can guarantee you that there is no way there will be more than 2 kids, unless a 2nd preg ended up with multiples!

    hope u coped ok yesterday

yay sounds like a great sleep!
its awsome to have a full nights sleep!

yay for DS doing so well!
hope ur DH has a great birthday, yay for smiles too!!

oh hun bug squishy 's hope ur doing a bit better today.....

AFU: well ive scored myself a and feel like absolute pooh.....
looks like ill be scoffing panadol like its tic tacs today!

we have started to swap summah over from being wrapped to sleep to using a sleeping bag.
yesterday her morning sleep, well the pathetic excuse for a sleep, she wore it and slept around 45mins straight, which she usually does but in 15 min stints usually, and then yesterday arvo she did her usual 3hr stint in her sleeping bag.

this morning i woke up at 630 and she wwas still asleep- actually she is still asleep now- and couldnt remember getting up ( coz i didnt get up during the night!) and she is wrapped!!!
called DH and he decided that becasue im not feeling great me getting a decent sleep was more important than getting up 300 times to settle her...
was a bit angry but now im so thankful, so i think we might wait till this cold passes then swap her over to sleeping bag at night as well as during the day!

    so another sleep through here!

tegam - family definitely takes priority over fb, bb and anything else technological Take all the time you want, and it's not surprising you're having a tough time considering you're doing it on your own atm - big hugs to you and yay for those Molly cuddles!

crumpet - boo to the cold - hope u get over it quickly, especially with all that awesome sleep!

Mitz - glad you're getting checked out - better to have peace of mind - all the best with the u/s tomorrow - hugs to you too

Had a less than awesome night, 3 feeds overnight because DS woke for the first one at 11pm - I think he had some wind, which woke him, but once awake he decided he was hungry too. Unfortunately that makes the 3rd feed at 5am, by which time it's getting light in DS's room, so in order to get him to sleep some more he came in with us - I let him go until 7:30am. Has had another nap now - but I can hear him, so off I go . . .

    Hi all,

Jen10, I have been wondering if C has reflux. He doesn't cry alot or arch his back or anything, but does cry out like a single cry and he grizzles alot though, so not sure, maybe a more mild case of it..?? He seems to vomit alot to me. And he wants to feed alot too, which is making me wonder if he's feeding for comfort from the pain, then vomits more because he's over eaten, and vomiting hurts, so he wants to feed...yada yada! I don't know. You'd think 3rd time round I might have some idea! He's really windy too. He farts like there's no tomorrow, and by god does he stink! He hasn't pooped for about 3-4 days either so that could be a reason for him being unsettled too. If I burp him, I will usually get at least 1 burp out of him, no matter how long after a feed I do it. I have tried eliminating everything I can think of that might cause wind- dairy, chocolate, coffee, tea, certain veggies (cabbage, garlic ect...) but I don't know if that's helping or not. I'm desperate for some chocolate but don't wnat to have any in case it makes things worse, lol!

Milly, hello lovely! So sorry you're feeling crappy. I hope you can get out of it soon. Feeling like that really sucks, I know! When does your DH come home? Maybe a bit of time out for you would help? With Molly of course, but maybe you could get a massage or just go out for some coffee and cake without all of the kids with you.
And every decision you made in regards to Molly's labour and birth was right. You both came out of labour and birth healthy and as you say, she is perfect. Be kind to yourself babe. We all do the best we can armed with all of the information we have at the time. You did the right thing. Try not to second guess yourself now. You can't change it.

Crumpet, hope you're feeling better. Having a cold and a new baby is tough. I got sick with my first two within the first few weeks too. It's horrible when you're trying to work this little person out, but all you want to do is rest and you can't.

Mizqte, hope your U/S goes well and you don't have any retained 'products'. And I hope your body sorts itself out too.

I am around too, I have been reading, but finding time to post is the hardest part. And this is with DH home! I have only found time today because the two big kids are at day care today. Well, we are going ok, the last few days have been slightly better than before. Caelan slept pretty well last night, no long periods of wakefulness last night, but still he woke for 3 feeds, til we woke at 5am and were mostly awake til 7am when I finally got tired of trying to get him to go back to sleep. He is still sooo very restless though and cries out alot in his sleep, and grizzles, grunts and growls alot too, which makes for a very restless sleep for me. He's still really spewy too and windy. I am wondering if he'd be better off in his cot by himself rather than cosleeping, but don't know how it will all work once DH goes back to work and DS1 needs me to sleep with him at night too... so not looking forward to next week. I'm thinking I will be a nut case come next Wednesday due to lack of sleep and no DH home with me...
Ok got a mountain of washing and another mountain of folding to try to catch up on, so gotta go, I hope everyone is well!

Ok so question? Phoebe hates pooping.I mean every single time she poops she screams and i mean screams legs out straight red face and all and as soon as she is done she stops and goes on like normal. Its odd and ive never seen it before so.....has anyone else had this?

    Just saying a quick hello!

SB finished his growth spurt/cluster feeding extravaganza and is back in his normal waking twice a night routine (phew!). He still hates sleeping during the day, but I just keep him close. He's already holding up his head a lot of the time and he loves to be held upright so he can practise walking, can't believe I can notice so many changes in him already! DH is hanging out for first smiles

Uni starts in 3 more weeks, I really really hope I can keep up this year...ack!

summah is doing well in her sleeping bag, she has both of her day sleeps in it, we havnt tackled night because of my cold!

we have a morning routine but its not going to help coz i dont have 2 other kids to look after!
basically i get up when i wake up at 7-8am, do a few things till Summah wakes up, change her bum but leave her in her pjs, then feed her, then she plays for a hour and then back to bed at around 9-930, generally she just lays there and whinges sometimes she will sleep a little bit, then up at 1130...

AFU: well we had Summahs 8 week needles done today!

poor thing screamed like ive never herd her scream before, but they handed her over and 30 seconds later she was fine, and back asleep! my little tough nut!

have dosed her up on panadol and have to keep it up for the next 48hrs to keep her comfy and control any temp that might pop up...

other than that she is doing really well...

got another sleep through last night!!! she was wrapped mind you.... im going to wait till my cold has gone and then ill tackle her night time sleeps with the sleeping bag, days are awsome so fingers crossed she does ok at night as well!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY EM!!!

Hi everybody. I'm still here. Just a a quick one again. Like Tegam, I'm spending more time with the boys and less time on the computer and watching tele. I've also starting using the Wii Fit again with DS1 which is interesting to say the least! At least we're both moving around a bit.

Josh is still a champ, only waking up the once at night which is the only reason I have retained my sanity! Loulou, I hear you on leaving the house with all three of them! It takes me 15 minutes just to load them all in the car and do all their carseats up! This morning I forgot two different things and realised at two different times after I'd locked the house and set the alarm. Needless to say, we were late for school...

Okay, DS1 is talking and I can't concentrate anymore. Ciao!

will be lucky to eat my dinner without having to hold her tonight!

a bath just helped but now she is at it again!
even the try old dummy isnt cutting it!

next inline is a early bottle in the hope she will go to bed and get a good sleep!

lilias - could you try an incline on C's cot for a day sleep (e.g. prop up the legs on one side a little) to see if it helps with the grunting etc? I've heard that's what you can do for reflux babies - maybe look into how to do it safely though - I think either the legs of the cot are raised on one end or you get a wedge thing for under the mattress. Does C get upset with his wind? D gets very distressed, especially if he's in the middle of a sleep or is overtired. Other times he pops off and hardly blinks. I'm a bit over the early morning gas pains though - it's every morning at around 5-6am atm and it takes a while to settle him again. Even if I don't feed him again then, it's the same as a third getting up anyway. Fortunately he went down again at 6 this morning and I slept another hour and let him go until 7:30. He only had 4 30-min naps yesterday, so this morning he's pretty tired - fell asleep during morning wake time (totally unusual) and has gone down without any whinging - already 45 mins this morning. Will need to wake him in the next 15 mins otherwise I'll have no hope of an arvo nap from him. Boy, I hate waking him up!! My photographer friend had to cancel on Wed so she's coming today at 3, so I'm keen for him to have a decent sleep before that so he's not too grumpy for photos

fo3 - I'm pretty sure that it's normal for little bubs to get all red-faced as if they're constipated when they poo - everything I've ready seems to suggest it. As long as it's soft when it comes out, there's nothing to worry about. My DS is much better about his now - sometimes I don't even realise he's done it until I change his nappy - in the early days I knew all about it while they were going through!

Kit - that's great you're back to 2 wakes a night! It's annoying when they seem to go backwards with night sleeping, hey? I'm hoping in the next few weeks, D's gas will settle down as he matures and then we should have much better nights (not that I'm complaining - 6hrs sleep is about as bad as it gets over here - mainly because I'm in bed by 9 though!).

Crumpet - hope the crankiness passes quickly - I've got D booked in for his needles, but not for a couple of weeks cause they were pretty busy, not really looking forward to that!

Big yay - we got the keys to our new house!!! DH is leaving work at 3 this arvo to go and start putting sealer on the walls - I think his dad and bro are going to help. Then tomorrow he'll be back at it again and I'll probably head there at lunch to have a look. So, a busy few weeks ahead. Full-on painting for the next week. Air-con going in after that and we need to organise the security screens and blinds as well. Tiler can't do it until early March, so we'll hold off on carpet until then as well. Looking like a mid-March moving date! By that time DS will be nearly 3 months and I'm hoping he can last in his bassinet until then - I was planning to do the transfer to the cot in our new house rather than get him used to a new room here, only to move him again once we're in the new house. We'll see. Anyway, very excited about getting the house finished!

Have a great day everyone - enjoy the cuddles/smiles and hope you get a rest in there too

    Hello lovely ladies!

Jen, I cosleep with DS in a snuggle bed on my bed so i can't elevate his bed. During the day I do try to keep him up for a while before I lay him back down, if I can actually get him to lay back down that is! He's usuallyon me alot of the day. I am going to have to dig out my mei tie sling and carry him I think. It's just soo hot here at the mo, I haven't wanted to use it. He does get very agitated with his wind. That's the main reason why he grumbles. If he's grumbling then I know he's going to either fart, burp, puke or poo. LOL. It's just a lucky dip as to which one it will be!
We have a very unsettled time in the early morning hours too. Though it's usually more like 4am here. Adn if I am lucky it's only for 20mins or so, though alot of the time, I'm up til 6am trying to settle him, then DD gets up around then. At the moment DH gets up with her, but when he goes back to work, I am dreading being awake all of that time. I don't cope well with no sleep
How exciting to have a new house!! Bet you can't wait move!!

Crumpet, I hope Summah is better today. Immunisations suck. I have to get Caelan immunised at 6wks here because there's been a huge outbreak of whooping cough, so they have brought it forwards two weeks for us So not looking forward to it!

Mel, good on you for pulling the wii out! I can't wait til I can start doing stuff again and feel like me a bit more! I took the kids to the park yesterday with DH and DD got stuck on some climbing equipment, I tried to run to free her and I just could not do it. My body just wouldn't move that way, my pelvis screamed at me with the SPD! Plus my inside felt like they would fall out cause my tummy muscles are SO weak.
Lucky you at gettingup only once a night! I seem to have made another frequent feeder and he was just playing with me when he gave me hope that he's be a good sleeper. He is up 3-4 times a night, better than hourly feeds, but still sooo sucky!

Hi to everyone else, seems I have been away too long, a certain little person is calling me...
