daytime naps here are all over the place - corey has been asleep for just over 2 hours now & he slept for 2 & a quarter hours on sunday morning but yesterday he slept for about an hour in total all day. and some days he'll have around 3 40 minute naps during the day. i guess he's still getting used to 'life on the outside'! i'll be interested to see how he goes for the rest of today - after his big nap on sunday morning he only had another 30 mins later in the day & was very grumpy by the time he went to bed
we're off to get the 4 mth needles tomorrow & then my mother's group has organised to do a baby/children's first aid course & our first session is tomorrow evening. has anyone else done something similar?
ugh, grace fed every two hours last night. I seriously need some sleep. I just reaslised this has been going on for over 3 weeks now and it has coincided with me trying to loose weight and cutting back on all my snacks... I wonder if that has something to do with it, or if I should start introducing solids as she seems hungry all the time. I'm calling ABA today to ask what they think...
Off to a mums group now and then to get lumpy... no rest today for me

Arlea is rolling so much now I have started calling her 'Flipper' As soon as she is on her back she rolls to her tummy. After a bit she gets cranky though & then we have to 'rescue' her - she's not quite go the hang of rolling back yet, she's only done it a couple of times. She is doing much better at tummy time now though, yesterday she spent around 20 minutes on her tummy!
and she has decided she wants to sleep on her tummy too, last night I put her to bed on her back - she rolled - I rolled her back - she rolled - I rolled her back again & then came downstairs to express - when I got back up she was asleep - on her tummy we have the Angelcare monitor though so that makes me feel a bit better & there's not much we can do about it now if she wants to sleep like that.
haven't had her weighed yet, they have been busy every time we have gone over, I will take her to the chemist tomorrow she has gained a bit morethan last time.
jasp - that sounds hilarious, little monkey rolling around like that!
ryatha - oh you poor thing. interesting coincidence - I can't imagine that cutting down on snacks would make that much of a difference though. I hope ABA can come up with some useful advice.
sarah - that's a good idea re the first aid course. I might bring it up with my mothers' group cos I have been feeling a bit naughty for not having done one yet. The other day Zac had a bit of a cough and splutter and went all red in the face and I got a bit panicky, so should really do something constructive about it.
BekZ - I reckon it's good that Eva was happy to take the formula - it will give you a bit of peace of mind I suppose? My nephew refused to take any bottles and I remember how awful it was for my sister to have to BF through a bout of gastro
AFM - Melbourne Cup day today so DH was home from work although he had to work yesterday. It's always nice to have him home, however we seem to end up arguing a bit lately - he wants to have some 'personal time' and while I sympathise with that I can't help feeling a bit resentful as it seems like I get no personal time whatsoever - the times that DH does take Z and I can go and do something it's always something highly exciting like the groceries! I love my bubba and DH to bits, but it's a huge adjustment from being independent to having to constantly consider somebody else kwim?
Even though Z is sleeping fairly well most nights I am feeling soooo tired. I just want one 8-hour stretch of blissful, unbroken sleep hahaha. So I'm off to bed now - nighty night every one!
Jasp - isn't it funny Hayley is exactly the same!! Has mastered rolling from back to front but can't go from front to back, she has done it a couple of times in the last few days, but mostly just gets stuck and starts whinging after a while. she is starting to spend more time on her tummy though and waving her legs around...I think she will be crawling in no time!
cate - I know what you mean about your DH...we are going through the same thing. Guess I feel a little resentful towards DF because it seems like his life hasnt changed at all, if anything he spends even less time at home... he never takes Hayley, except if I have to duck out quickly while she is asleep. He has never bathed her and I cant remember the last time he changed a nappy or gave her a bottle. he would be lucky to spend 10 mins a day with her...it's like well do you want to be involved in your daughters life or not? We have been having a few arguments lately...and I am so sick of him not doing anything around the house.
we had a play date today at a friend's house, she has twin girls about 6 months old, and another friend was there with her little boy who is exactly a week younger than Hayley. they had a great time, we will definitely have to do it more often.
hi all just a quick hello im doing ok. had the kids godfather and son come visit from broadmeddows lastnight left this afternoon enoch and faith are both spending the night with their dad and charity has got a friend over for her 1st ever sleepover her friend who is 4 has never been away from her dad but is doing very well she just camed to me and said she misses her dad who is a single parent so ive asked if she wanted to call him she said no and went back to the bedroom and has ended up in bed with charity hopfully they will go to sleep soon

Jasp, yey for Arlea and her rolling! Ash seems to have very little interest in rolling these days. He went from back to front a couple of times a few weeks back, but now doesn't even try. Mind you he seems to love being on his tummy now (how things change, he hated it for months LOL) so I guess he doesn't see the point. He has started trying to commando crawl though. He doesn't get very far, but is definately putting in a lot of effort, so maybe he will skip the rolling all together...
Ryatha hope calling the ABA helped...
Any improvement with the naps Sarah? Ash is also all over the place, some days he doesn't sleep for any more than 30 mins at a time, then other days he'll have a long 2 hour one as well...
How's the cradle cap going Leckert? Have the steroids made any improvement?
Bekz, glad to hear you survived the week. Have you made the move to the big cot yet? We changed Ash over a week ago and he loves being able to spread out and spin around, he was getting pretty squashed in his bassinet. We've also changed our pram over to the seat, I still have him laying back, but now at least he can see out and he is loving it!
AFM I think my AF is coming back. I'm on the mini pill and have had the odd bit of spotting, but the last couple of days it's been pretty consistent. Still not back to a proper period, but I suspect it might be coming. Ash is sleeping through about half the time so it doesn't really suprise me though... Has anyone else had it come back yet?
I'm taking Ash for his 4 month checkup on Friday and can't wait to see how much he has grown. He seems huge these days so it will be interesting to see. Then we're doing his 4 month needles next week, I'm really not looking forward to it because he was a bit unwell for awhile after the last lot. Oh well hopefully he'll do better this time around...
I caught up with my boss last week and have started doing a little bit of work, mostly from home or only for meetings where I can bring Ash into the office with me. So far, so good, it's nice to use my brain for something other than parenting and also nice to know that work still values me. Anyway, we'll see how it pans out over the next few weeks, but at this stage it looks like it could work quite well.
Anyway, better get a move on, I'm expecting Ash to wake up any minute (but who knows, his sleeps are all over the place) and need to start getting dinner organised. Hope everyone else is doing well x
