I suspected silent reflux right before Easter, having googled it after seeing something on BB, and realizing he had so many of the symptoms.
Saw my brilliant GP ASAP after Easter and just told her I thought that's what he had due to xyz. I also told her he seemed different to my DD as she had the wind pain but not other symptoms hence I knew it wasn't just wind. She said we could put him on Losec or wait and see - I chose the Losec option (it decreases acid production so it stops the pain). He's been on it since Tuesday last week. Only had one major screaming-in-pain session since then. Other things we are doing is trying to elevate head end of the bassinet, keeping him upright for a little bit after feeds, using Infants Friend etc to try to help get rid of wind. I was told by a pharmacist that the bodies response to wind is to produce more acid. So wind seems to be an important factor.
Sleep is still not really improved but I'm hopeful (praying!!) it will soon!
Oh and GP said there's no side effects from the Losec and that he would need to be on it for a good couple of months to be sure if it was working or not.
