Yules - thanks, girlfriend!! I wish I knew who RAK’ed me ... I know part of the point is not to know, but I still wonder ... was it you? (answer not expected...) and yes, my avvy is done, I’m just waiting for it to show up soon ... very exciting! we’re still sussing out our options re the injury, and will make a decision and follow up with whatever course of action we choose soon ... very heavy, emotional, unpleasant stuff ... As for you, any routine sussed out yet? How are the kidlets coping with the move? Jetlag? I hope Darcie starts sleeping more heavily soon (hey – is Darcie Elizabeth a Pride & Prejudice reference? Ie: Elizabeth D’Arcy [nee Bennett]?). And FX that teething goes well, and she doesn’t bit your boobies! Ouch ... And yay for responsiveness to requests for cuddles and kisses, and waving, etc ... and mega yay for her and Max getting along well

Peta – I’m glad that Alyssa is doing ok with daycare, though I’m sorry to hear the drop offs are still rough ... hopefully they’ll be smoother and more pleasant for you soon! Nice of the ladies to call you and let you know she was ok, though I hope you’re able to enjoy work ... it makes such a difference, having grown up conversations again!! And such a different pace and part of the brain and energy being used, compared to being at home ... I think you’d have to have such good boundaries to make working part time work for you – hats off! Not sure that I could do it ...

Doodle – you’re naked! Boo. I hope someone RAKs you off good and proper soon. Funny about the teething – J-man chomps on the back molars loads, so I wonder whether his will be back to front too ... time will tell!! I hope you’re otherwise well, and enjoying lots of cuddles and slobbery kisses. Re my avvy – as much as I do love the muppets (and as much as I may act like one sometimes ) I’ve selected one that looks a bit more like me IRL ... you shouldn’t have to wait much longer to see it And with eating, J-man just eats what we do, too ... egg, strawberry, curry, fish, whatever. Kids are resilient With sleep, J-man still usually has 3 naps a day, but some days, they’re pretty short and he’ll crack it after being down for 30 mins, and DH just has to get him back up and let him play more (or play with him/hold him). But he does well mostly. And overnight he’ll sleep from around 7pm until 6-7am

Holly – I hope you’ve been able to catch up on some sleep since your last posts!!! And I hope the teething has settled down, and that the rest of them don’t give him anywhere near as much trouble ... J-man also is a star rassberry blower!! Particularly when we’re in the pool ... just adorable!!

Sunshine - :wave: how’s the sleeping etc going now? Improvement? Hang in there, rock star. Lots of love xo

Routine is going relatively well, but not being in our own place throws it out a bit. It's a bit hard getting Darcie to sleep when Max is only a room away playing etc. D loves him so much she hears his voice and she is awake again! Sigh....We'll get there...in the meantime, lots of walks around nap time. Just have to rug up and go!

I hope whatever course of action you take helps you get over your traumatic birth. I can understand to a degree....I've given birth, albeit not traumatically, but I can see where you're coming from, knowing your story.

Darcie Elizabeth....Not really a P&P reference....DH & I both liked Darcie, and I wanted to have her middle name as Eladia (my grandmother) but DH didn't want it So I decided to name her after my favourite Aunty....and D happened to be born on her birthday too, so it all fit together really well! The other day someone here said her name was very Australian! I was like "HUH"!

I can't believe how chatty you all are again & how much our LO's are up to!

Peanutter - congrats on your RAK (that sounds a bit rude LOL!). Well deserved. I have no idea how you have remained so positive & kept going since Joshie's arrival. Thanks for your thoughts on part-time working. I'm still not sure it is for me or her, but i like contributing financially & I keep telling myself the interaction is good for both of us.

HB - I'm not in your facebook crew - Peta Bell, if you wanted to add me. I read often, but don't post that much, though there are pics on there of the 3 of us.

Perth Girls - I hope the fires are no where near any of you. This country is a bit of a mess at the moment isn't it. Hoping you're all safe & also your families & friends.

When do you think I should worry about not teething? Alyssa still hasn't got any teeth though everyone we see swears she's been teething since 4 months. Also, how did you go about getting your LO's to eat the variety of things they do? And did you wait till teeth arrived? I am sensing Alyssa wants more than puree but am a bit scared given she's got no teeth to help chomp. She had some sausage tonight & a bit of vegemite on bread for lunch, plus she has banana's by herself, but I guess I am bit a stuck for what sort of finger foods to go for. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Sorry, not much of a post tonight. I'm hammered & still to do bottles & have a shower before bed. Seriously come about 3pm every day I'm knackered, my back aches & my eyes are sore. Hoping I will get used to this pace soon!

excuse me while I locate and jump up onto my present pet pony: teething and solids.

Joshua has no teeth (YAY!!! Yes, yay I say for the breastfeeding mummy with the toothless child! )

And he's been eating solids for over 2 months.

And when I say solids, I mean solids. As in, we cook dinner or make brekky or lunch or whatever, and he gets some.

Joshua has eaten bread, crackers, kangaroo, lamb, chicken, pie, potato (mashed, steamed, roasted, etc), broccoli, cucumber, watermelon, yoghurt, rice, lasagne, olives, mushroom, spinach, eggs, weetbix, and everything else basically that I've eaten in the past couple of months. And he manages just fine.

Some meals he'll eat loads, other times he'll just nom on a few little bits, and based on what's left on his tray, the highchair, the bib and the floor, I don't think he's had much at all ... but it's all ok!

Because he's learning about flavours and textures and temperature and so on, and he's learning that food is fun ... and slowly, he's making the connection between hunger and food!

But no teeth is no issue ... he gums, sucks, pulls apart, squashes, and swallows his way through it, and loves every minute.

And I am yet to puree *anything* - it's wonderful. No extra food prep - we just give him a little of everything on our plate! Which is also good, because it means we're eating healthier and not adding salt, etc

PETA, I'll add you on fb too having no teeth is nothing to worry about, Darcie doesn't have any either, they do come, you just never know when. D is teething ATM coz I can see them, plus she rubs her tongue on her gums. As far as eating 'solids' gums are hard and can still chew. Obviously not a chuppa chup, but we give like peanutter, anything softish, she loves pasta, rice, rice crackers and all sorts. The world is your oyster really

Poor little love with a cold. Love my fess and the snot sucker! A vaporiser in the room at night also works wonders if they're having trouble breathing, although it can make the room a bit warm, not good in summer!

Food - Logan will pretty much eat anything I give him (and some things I don't that his brother leaves laying around! )
Try get hold of Baby Led Weaning by Gill Rapley, it's a fantastic book and took a lot of the fear out of it for me. I got mine from Book Depository online, think it was about $17. They also have free shipping and it only took about a week to get to me!

On a side note..... where do you girls keep your nappy bags? Mine is currently residing in the loungeroom and driving me crazy coz it doesn't have a 'home'! I'm trying to get organised and de-clutter but this is one thing I can't decide where to keep it!

Big Kid had his first day at pre-primary yesterday and I'm sooooo happy! He just LOVED it! He changed schools from last year to our local one. Last years school was a couple of suburbs away, more affluent area, brilliant naplan results etc... but after 1 year of kindy (2 days a week) we both hated it! The bullying policy in the kindy was non-existent, he had his chair pulled out from under him, kids sit on him, a girl throw rocks at him etc.... I spoke to the teacher about it but it was kind of brushed off. I made friends with 1 mum (she just moved from Mel and knew no-one), all the others seemed to do was compete with each other about who's kid was doing the most activities and who had the most kids at their birthday party! It just sucked! Anyway...... new school yesterday, close enough he can ride his bike and I can walk with Logan, he came home to tell me he made 2 new friends, learnt the names of 5 kids, had a great time and can't wait to go back! The relief in unbelievable!!!!! In his words "I like this school mummy, the teacher put a bandaid on me when I fell over and the kids are much nicer". My poor little boy, I feel really guilty for sending him to the other school last year. Thank god it was only kindy and not year 7!!!

Anyway, off to get ready for the day, more lunches to make, bags to pack and dishes to be done!

Hi Girls!

Good to see you Holly, Sharon & Julia on FB. I always find it interesting to finally see someone after many phone convo's (ie, client) or emails.

Sharon - I keep my nappy bag in the boot of the car. I just find it easier to keep it there, then if we're out I always have stuff ready. Of course, I bring it in to add bottles & food to if we're going on a long day trip. There is also a pile in the corner of our family room which contains DH esky, my handbag & Alyssa's daycare backpack.

Well being sick is no fun when Mummy+ Alyssa are. I think my chest infection is clearing (well I'd hope so, I'm onto day 3 of medicine...) and Alyssa was back at the Dr this morning & now has medicine to take as she has an infected throat, coughs & sneezes. She is still quite happy generally though. Maybe that's just kids when they're sick. I am so tired from trying to look after Alyssa, keep the house going, login & do some work from home + get some sleep. I guess this is life!! Just smile & enjoy it.

Hi all!

Well my little girl has continued to settle in really well with us. She is now crawling, pull herself up to stand and in the last couple of days has starting waving to everybody! She seems to be getting more teeth (currently has 4, front top & bottom), so we have had some trouble with sleep. But last night she slept for 11 hours again & has had 2 x 2 hour naps today, she must have really needed it. We have been going to swimming lessons too, which DD just loves.

Doddlebug - I hang my nappy bag on a hook on the back of the door to DD's room.

Peta - I know a few little ones who didnt get any teeth until after 12 months, that just came later and it was no problem.

Great to hear things are still going really well Chookie. Your little girl sounds like she's very clever!

Warning self indulgent whinge -- why do all bill & bad things come at one time?! We have the rates here, the water bill will turn up any day and now our fridge/freezer which is only just over 12mths old appears to have s#*t itself!!! Yes, it should be covered by warranty, but where do you go on a Saturday night for warranty service?! You call the number on the manual and it just says hours are 8am - 5pm monday to friday. Well thanks!! That helps a ton. Anyway sorry about that, just had to get it out. Luckily we have lovely neighbours who have re-frozen our meat (only beef - not chicken or pork) and we got some ice for the fridge stuff in a fibreglass esky that should keep it for a few days, but I guess tommorrow we will be off to find a cheap fridge to keep things going till warranty sorts out our other one. This is the second one we have had from the same manufacturer which has died within warranty period. Guess what we're not buying again.........

AFM: Max is being a NIGHTMARE at the moment...so over it! Darcie also cut her first tooth yesterday! and has also started some sort of crawl/bum shuffle move! It's a cute one! AND she's started pulling herself up against the couch and attempting to cruise the furniture! OMG YAY!

lilChookie - Your DD sounds gorgeous - congrats!

Yules - describe 'nightmare'? How hard is it with two somedays!!! Mine have just started fighting over toys...let the games begin!!!!

AFM - Think we've surfaced ...a little...off the meds for PND and that's mostly ok...I've come to the conclusion that I MUST get on BB everyday and keep in touch...feeling isolated is not a good thing and BB is wonderful for that. In just 2 weeks I will have a 2 year old...she's doing great and so thankful that she's a great sleeper...little Miss T ...our 9 month old boobie monster is another story....she is feeding 3 hourly day and night and I'm stuffed! Any suggestions? I've got the bottle of water ready tonight...CHN suggestion...not sure it'll work...I cave so easily and stick her on the boob so I can get back to sleep coz I'm so damn tired! DH away so a good time to have her screaming the house down I guess!

Peta - Glad you got the fridge sorted. How'd you go sorting the warranty today?
Ellie - Nightmare, just being naughty, not listening, shouting, and chucking it majorly if he doesn't get his way. Just difficult, you know! Doesn't want to get dressed, but wants to go out....wants to go swimming, but doesn't want to do swimming LESSONS (after I'd organised them!) He is bored though, a week and a half away and we'll have our things back...move into our house so from then, we can start some sort of normal again. You know what it's like, moving Not sure what to sugges for Miss T, Miss D only sleeps well when I'm in bed with her, so who knows what will happen when we move if I even attempt at putting her in her cot (which she's NEVER used!) You can try the water I guess and just see what happens. Darcie also has been feeding at night, but I just do it. She just got her first tooth so that kind of explains it to me. Just do what you have to....extra boob isn't going to break her IMO...just make you a little more tired. So happy to hear you're off the meds too...BB definitely helps to keep the sanity...I know it does me

Thanks for your support Yules...but didn't do the water...had the night from hell...DH away...both went down fine around 7.30...fed Miss T around 10.30 then Miss A woke up screaming and continued to do so till 5am when she finally crashed...pretty sure it's the 2 year old molars...but through the hours of screamming she woke Miss T so many times I lost count so I was going from one side of the house to the other with them both screaming...was just lovely...finally got them both settled and got into bed myself around 5.3o am only to have the dogs start barking at 6am!!! So the boobie did the job...forget the water lol!!!! Also dealing with a girl in my mothers group who is taking delight in the fact Miss T isn't sleeping though because Miss A slept through from very early...how mean is that...she's about to have her second bub so we'll see how she is after that...nasty pasty...not what I need right now!
