Glad to hear you all enjoyed easter.
Camping sounds awesome. Our nephews are 5 & 6 and we can't wait to take them when Alyssa is a bit older. Certainly won't be anywhere near a winter time though - I can't stand the cold!!
Yay for Joshie!! Your DH will soon be spending all his days chasing Josh around and moving things out of reach (or saying no). Alyssa just laughs at me when I tell her no (eg don't touch the stereo....ha ha ha, do it again). Little rat!
With the work/daycare/teething thing, I ended up taking Alyssa back to the Dr Thursday morning last week after she woke with a very slight fever (gave her panadol & it went). The doctor confirmed she couldn't see anything wrong with her & that the cough must be to do with teething. So called daycare when I got back home & asked them whether she was allowed to come in with that prognosis & she was. So, maybe it has just been me putting too much stress on myself about keeping her away with what I thought was a cold. I just would like to think that if I do the right thing & keep her home when she's sick other parents will do the same with theirs. I have been told by many people though I am being silly & should just always send her & wait for daycare to call me if they don't want her there. I don't really agree with that though.
Back to work for 4 days tommorrow then its another long weekend up here for labour day. Thinking of you all, have fun! xo

Hi All,

I have been MIA for who knows how long. I think just knowing what time it is now - 1.40am explains a little as to why. I never seem to have time to myself to sit and read and type, so eventually something had to give. I have really missed my BB community though.

I haven't read much back so have no idea what has been happening, so I'm sorry.

What has been happening with us? I went back to work in March, which has been very stressful, for a number of reasons that I won't bore you with. Emmelyn is now in CC 3 days a week and loves it. Very different to Jett. Her first day I went in and sat her down and she picked up a toy and waved 'bye' and it has continued that way!

She has been really unwell for the last few weeks though. It started when she started getting her top teeth - she would just randomly throw up in the middle of the night in her sleep - and it would be her undigested lunch that would come up. Was not gastro as it would only happen every now and then. And she was happy otherwise apart from resisting sleep. Eventually after a week, I thought I would take her to the dr, just to make sure it wasn't something more serious than teething. Turns out she had a middle ear infection, and we were past the peak of it. Didn't I feel guilty? She was happy and no obvious fever! So, we finally have one top tooth, but the second, although is imminent, is being a little more stubborn. Enter next illness about a week ago, just in time for Easter long weekend This time there was a fever, and she was going downhill quickly. Off to the dr again, she had ulcers in her mouth, a spotty bottom, fever, snot and drool everywher. Dr listened to her chest and it had just started creeping in to her lungs, so back on ABs again to try and avoid pneumonia. She has brightened up alot, and has started eating and drinking again, so hopefully things will continue to improve, although she still sounds a little wheezy.

And now because of all the extra attention E has been getting, J has become super clingy to Mummy. So, I go to work and do my job and come home and am 'in demand' Mummy and so by the time they go to bed I am exhausted and go to bed myself ready to start the cycle again. So not much time left over to do anything, let alone spending the necessary time to read and write on here.

Good to hear babies are beginning to walk and talk. Emme isn't walking yet, but is cruising furniture confidently and experimenting with standing unaided. Talking - she is a little mimic and tries to say a number of things, but commonly used words are Mum, Dad, Tyson (our dog).

Well, it is now 2.10, I've given E a boob feed and she is lying awake on my lap with a horrid cough and I've typed almost this entire post one handed. Time to call it a night!

so much to do at work, but at least the house is getting into better order, slowly but surely ... Joshua has the most terrible nappy rash at the moment, though ... with any luck it will be gone soon.

OMG MT I wonder if that is Alyssa's problem. Did Emme have problems balancing? Alyssa has been falling over more than usual & having chucks at awkward times too (she never normally chucks at all).
I guess I best take her back to Dr on Tuesday. Do ear infections run in families? I know her cousins had heaps when they were bubs.

We have a long weejend here again for Labour Day. Woo hoo.

Not much else to tell, Alyssa is barely eating anything much though today she has had 3 bottles & kept down dinner thus far. We have given her smaller portions today. She did have another mega chuck at lunch but DH thinks she just ate too much all at once. So, I have been pacing her since that. Fingers crossed there's no more chucks while in bed tonight. That was a gross discovery the other night.

Petaa, I think it does run in families. Sounds like you might beonto something with the balancing too. The not eating could be another sign. I'd say docs..... Especially as aly isn't usually a chucker.

I had to take both max and Darcie to the doc on saturday. D has impetigo.... Blergh and max ear infection! A break from illnesses would be nice!

Peanutter - hope j's yucky nappies stop for you soon. Maybe another tooth is on the way!

It does sound so similar to Emme. Especially as you said it seems she has had endless colds, cos apparently it is just the mucous that comes with colds not draining away properly in the inner ear that causes it. And it would most definitely affect balance. Does she seem to resist sleep or lying down at all?

I too ended up at the doc again on Saturday. As I wrote in my post on Friday night, Emme had the horrid cough which was keeping her awake and the wheezy breathing had me concerned. So apparently she now has Bronchiolitis - the viral lung infection! Luckily it wasn't too serious and a bit of Ventolin helped but I really had to watch her to make sure I didn't need to cart her off to hospital. She has improved heaps now, so I think we need a break from all the illnesses now too!!!! I am so tired , but it is back to work today!

I just realised my avatar still shows me as pregnant! Ooops!

Peanutter, I can't help sorry. I'm sitting here wondering if I'm up preggers again or just late. Knowing my cycle (or lack of) I'm just late & its just my body being itself. Preggers would be cool though & most unexpected! It could just be O for you. If you are worried maybe you could see the Dr, though this is probably the last person you want to see after everything you've been through.

Ellie hello! Glad to see you will be with us more now.

MT - how are you doing? And J & E? I hope they are both doing much better. Alyssa had enlarged tonsils so has been on amoxilyn for the last week. Made her a bit sick I think, No.2's today have been yucko! Back to the Dr tommorrow to check if tonsils have shrunk otherwise it will be off to a specialist.

Yules how's everything over there? How long till your fur baby arrives now?

AFM, had Alyssa's birthday party yesterday. All went well & she was very spoilt. We had absolutely gorgeous weather here so the kids were out running in the yard playing soccer. The cake icing turned a bit pinker than I meant (who knew you only were meant to put a little bit of food colouring in) but tasted yummo.

Has anyone got a forester XT? Just thinking of getting one (swapping the big tank 4wd for something smaller than handles & goes fast, I miss my speed) & wondered. We had a forester once before but only the XS and it was an auto (I will NEVER buy another auto forester, it drove me batty).

Hey Peta...I have just swapped my pajero for a ford territory and it was the best decision...no more hassels with parking and so much more room on the side to get bubs in and out...forrester looks fab have only heard good things about them...happy shopping

I'm not regular atm, but have never been, except for when on the pill! so not sure ... I poas before AF, but not since ... but AF only recently finished, and this feeling started almost as soon as AF left, so not sure ... but still having it periodically!! no idea :head:


peta - so completely not wanting to go to the Dr for anything unnecessary at the mo! but would be AWESOME to be belly buddies again maybe both of us this cycle? and so glad that alyssa's b'day went well

otherwise - I've been given the all clear from the surgeon very tentative smile - the surgeon I saw was not my usual one, and while he had a really thorough look up one place, he didn't really look elsewhere ... ... but I described my concerns, and he listened and referred to them, so maybe there's another way for him to understand and dismiss my worries? But he definately knew what I was saying, so I guess it must all be ok...
