Long time no chat!
Farmgirl - wtg on the crawling River is happy rolling around and kind of does this half-down-dog thing but mainly out of frustration. I think he will be crawling within a month though.
GG - that is awesome saying dadda! My lil guy has said "mumumum" a few times which I fully take to mean "mum", LOL. He has said dadada once or twice, but he said mum first *giggle*.
Porsche - River is the same with solids, very slow going. After Caden who would eat your left leg if you stood still long enough, I was surprised to have a reluctant eater. I might take a leaf out of Farmgirls book and do some more finger foods. He seems to like the tactile feel of food and wants to put everything in his mouth.
Hello everyone else! Way to go you busy mummies that have headed back to work. Great news on all the rolling/crawling/teething/solids that the little monkeys are up to.
AFM - been flat out busy these days. Getting Caden ready for Kindy with parent teacher nights etc. Working on my business so check out my website by following the link below *shameless plug* and of course mad about my River. He is getting so big, just over 8kg and in 0s. He is rolling and chatting and generally very happy baby. I have taken him to some business things including a baby market and he was so cruisy. I am so glad he is an easy bub.
I have been getting into running which has been really nice to have some "me" time. I had to prioritise my exercise cos I was so caught up doing everything else that I lamented not having enough time to work out. The gym seems so difficult what with creche times limited and River has a big sleep in the morning. SO, I decided to work out during his first morning nap. It could be 45 minutes or an hour and half depending on how he sleeps. I just love it, and have lost all my baby weight now and then some
Sadly trying to gear myself up for next year, with Caden in kindy and then going back to work. I am not due to return until July but am looking at other options for return to work, a more senior role that can be more flexible - like work from home etc. Hopefully there is one on the cards, but I will update you as and when.

You all must be so busy, it's so quiet in here these days. I love reading everyone's updates, and can't believe some of you have time to start your own business. So in awe of you!!
Well Amelia is growing so much faster then I want her to. She is my last baby and I so wanted to enjoy the baby days for longer, but she is deteremined to catch up with her brother. She has mastered the art of sitting now, and crawls all around the house. The draw locks and corner bumpers have come out again, and I've hadto teach my son about the dangers of doors and baby fingers. She now stands up on her own whilst holding onto the furniture. Her balance isn't real good if her feet aren't well positioned, but she has learnt how to sit if she is going to fall (although we have had a couple of banged heads on the floor). Her poor daycare mum has had to keep her within arms reach to prevent any injuries.
Amelia also loves her food - she just shoves it in. Loves carrots, mashed potato, sausages, watermelon, banana, avocado and generally anything I'm eating. Last night she had pasta and ate twice as much as I expected. At least this eating has given me a break with the expressing. I only need to express twice a day now instead of three, which is much kinder on the nipples.
We also had the first tooth cut through last week.
Still only a little thing weighing just 6.1kg, I'm sure the doctor is going to speak to me about her weight in the next week when she has her injections. Still wearing 000 and 00's, her christmas outfit is a 0-3 month pumpkin patch dress. At least I'm getting value for money from the clothes.
Can't wait to hear what new things everyone's bubs have learnt to do.
chloe is 7 months this week, no teeth, loves her food, loves her booby even more, refuses a bottle etc. so goes with out for 8 hours 3 days a week, while im at work. But we make her porridge with formula etc so she gets it that way.... but when i get home she cant wait to get a feed lol, starts nuzzling for it lol.
Despite her appetite she too only weighs 6.4kg but our doc not worried about it as she still on average (just under)
LOL Farmgirl, yes is so busy at the moment! Wow Amelia sounds like she is going fantastically . For such a tiny thing she sure is developing nicely. I would scoff at the doc if he/she plunks on about her weight. Sounds like she is reaching all her milestones and then some.
Bern - love the booby girl. River is a booby boy too, not much into his solids and is very much in love with "his" boobies *giggle*.
No teeth here yet either but they are definitely on there way, little lumps poking up through his lower jaw, must be aching like crazy poor bub. No crawling, but lots of rolling and sitting up. Caden crawled at 8 months so I think River is not far off either. He really prefers to be either carried around with me or in his jolly jumper. He is also weighing around 8.5 kgs so not a tiny monkey that's for sure. Lots of healthy rolls of fat and still only on mainly bm, LOL.
AFM - all good here myself. Farmgirl IKWYM about wanting them to slow down. River is my last too and I feel a melancholy ache every time I think about that. I need to get over it I guess. DH is adament he doesn't want anymore, and tbh, I actually think two would be best for me too. It is just he is growing so fast and that very special pregnancy time and newborn phase is now over and I will never experience it again . It is just a bit sad. I am only 33 and hear from heaps of mums that if they were younger they would have more. And here is me, perfectly young enough (I think, lol) and I am not in the position to have more. Oh well, that is my rant for now.

Need some advice. I having issues with my boy about his sleep patterns. I don't have him in a routine and just wait till his tired signs to put him down. I usually have him fall asleep in my arms and when I try to put him down when he is awake he chucks the biggest wobbly. So I have to pick him up again.
I am pretty sure I have committed all the sins a first time parent does but really need one advice to get him on track. For example tonight, he woke from a 1/2 hour nap at 6:30pm and didn't go back down until nw - 2:00am
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I am getting so tired from lack of sleep
Jubear, you're doing a wonderful job. Our first is not always easy as every new day brings new lessons. I'm still learning new things with my second. Good on you for asking for help too. It's one thing to recognise when something is not working for you, it's another to admit it and ask for help. So big hugs to you for taking that step.
My first bub was not always the best sleeper, he had trouble falling asleep without help and took a long time to settle if he woke. I have some ideas for you which I'll post tonight. I'm at work on the phone at the moment and it makes typing slow. Hang in there, this too shall pass.
Welcome Jubear. I agree with Farmgirl your doing a great job. This will pass in time. Not easy though. With my kids I would just put them to bed and if they cried I would let them cry for a while. after about 5 mins or so give or take I would go back in and roll them on their side and pat them on the back until they were quiet and then repeat the routine. If bubs really doesn't settle try a nappy check and a burp and repeat the cycle. Remember never to make eye contact with bubs or it's all over red rover. It may take a few days for this tequnique to work but is totally worth the effort. I have had no problems with any of my 3 with sleep after learning this. I have never looked back. I never go in or pick bubs up if she's awake and happy because there is a possibility she'll self settle and go back to sleep. I don't even in if she has a little cry during the night because she'll go back to sleep. It's only if she cry's for more than I think is "something more going on crying" that I'll get up and check on her.
Bern - L is 7 months old as well. Time is flying lol. Chloe sounds like petite little thing. Still a light weight lol.
Dragonbub - It's hard to enjoy your last when time seems to be slipping away before our very eyes lol. Before you know it they're moving out lol.
Hi Farmgirl - I'm so glad bubs loves her food. We're a bit slow on the food. Had a few hiccups but hopefuuly on track now. I can't believe she's crawling already. Baby cage here we come hahaha. She's growing up way too fast. This time last year we were counting down the days til their births.
AFM as I said bit of a rough start to the solids thing but she seems to be getting the hang of it now. She's sick ATM too. Has a cold. Runny nose phlem and a horrible cough. She hasn't been to daycare this week because of it. Poor thing. Just doing the panadol, fluids thing up and see how she goes. If she's not better by Friday then a trip to the GP is in order. Also we are head first into a FET and we have our TF on Tuesday. So by the New Year I could be UTD again.
Well first my expereince with a bad sleeper. I never had a routine with Noah, I just went with the flow. Right from birth, he would wake if he wasn't in my arms, slept for 20 mins on his back, and at night, his best sleep was for two to three hours. I spent many nights sleeping on the couch with him ( I know this isn't recommended). I was totally against letting him cry, probably to my own detriment, but if it took him sleeping with me, that's what I did.
When this arrangement didn't work for me anymore (around 4 months), I started making small changes to the family nights. This included introducing a night time routine, and moving him into his own room. I discovered he preferred to sleep on his stomach, and this made bedtime routines so much easier. I would give him a bath, then a breast feed whilst I sang nursery rhymes. I would then transfer him to his cot whilst singing. Over time I changed this to putting him to bed awake and singing him to sleep. As I had returned to full time work when he was just 8 weeks old, I didn't mind his needyness, it gave me good reason to cuddle him.
I found out over time I was the one who was encouraging his bad sleeping because I had insisted when he was young on always turning on a light to breastfeed, sometimes the TV too if he was taking a long time. I also was missing a lot of the early sleep cues and then trying to deal with an overtired baby. I learnt my lesson, and with my second, I had a nightime routine from 4 months, and I learnt early she too is a tummy sleeper. This ment the difference between 20 min naps, and three hour sleeps. I don't turn any lights on at night, and I don't talk to her. It's a cuddle, breastfeed, cuddle and then straight back to bed (she is generally asleep anyway). A couple of things I have found that help to settle her in the middle of the night if she does think it's time to play is my ipod playing kids sleepy music, another feed, a couple of times even a bottle of EBM to fill her up, and if necessary me singing nursery rhymes.
I would suggest a routine for nighttime bed, limiting day sleeps to get him used to sleeping more at nights, and reducing stimuli at night when he wakes. I use a dummy with Amelia and this is very comforting for her. Try tummy sleeping if he has good head control, and maybe a radio with classical music. If all else fails, hand him to daddy in the morning and go back to bed, they both need you to be well rested (says me with my eyes falling out of my head at 8pm )
Porsche - Yep, Amelia is meeting all of her milestones well ahead of time. She has an amazing cheeky character coming through, including crawling after me whilst laughing through her dummy, and then if I turn around she hides and chuckles. I love it. She finds her brother hysterical, and laughs so hard she runs out of breath. Generally at his bad behaviour which is all the encouragement he needs. She stands up on anything she can find now, the draws, the fridges, bin, lounge chair. Her latest trick is to let go and hold on with just one hand. Noah was the same, he walked at a little over 8 months. But they do come from a long line of early walkers, so what hope have I got? I just have to make sure she is well supervised and her environment is safe.

Jacob and I still cosleep, he still wakes 2-3 times a night for a feed. He seems to have stretched out taller before my eyes these last weeks, he can finally touch the floor in his activity centre and started to move in it he is commando crawling around and destroying everything in his path! Still no teeth!!! Is that weird to still not have teeth?!
Haven't gotten any sensible words out of him yet either, although Grandpa is trying his best to teach him 'bugger'!
Can't wait to go to Sydney next week for his first Christmas!!!
My family can't wait to see him either, been over 3 months since they saw him (except on Skype).
Also excited to be growing my shoe business in the new year with a proper website instead of just Facebook, so close to 3500 fans, hope I get there by Christmas day!

BBB - Chloe doesnt have any teeth either but Not worried as her sister never got a tooth till the week before her 1st birthday and she has a great set of teeth now

DS and I are having bait better sleep, I just need to continue my settling routine as suggested.
Otherwise he is doing well. He doesn't have any teeth, either BBB. I thought it would best to worry after 12 months and take each day as it comes. He also doesn't crawl but can get on his knee's and has started to rock back and forth... So I think that should be occurring soon, I just need to give him more floor time. He likes to stand on my lap and look around, so I'm not sure if he will walk first or crawl. At the moment he is babbling da da and the letter g. I'm trying for him to say mum but he just smiles....

Sorry i havent been on in months the twins keep me tremendously busy, both are rolling now. No crawling yet or sitting or teeth but for prem babies and ones who have battled illness which was potentially life threatening the drs and peads are impressed with where they are at.
Both weigh just over 7kg now and this weekend we are packing up most of the 000 and breaking open the 00
Where has the time gone!
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Hard to believe that our littlest ones have shared their first Christmas now!! Special.
Bree has finally rolled all the way over to her belly, she still hasn't worked out completely how to roll back on to her back, but at least she rolls onto her belly and is happy to be in that position and play for a few moments now. She sits up really well now, she still falls down occasionally, but for the most part she supports herself with her hands. I guess when you got that many toys surrounding you it gets a little tricky at times. We are going to have to get her a little toybox now that her toy collection is starting to grow. She still only has the 2 teeth but her gums have been giving her such grief in the last couple of days. She had a tummy ache too and was constipated for a couple of days leading up to Christmas, but she has recoevered from that now, she has been drinking on average about 60mls of water each day.
Oh I have to tell you. I couldn't believe this. I took all 4 kids to see santa a few days before Christmas, but we got to the shop just after 9am and santa didn't start until 11, so we went and done some shopping, visited the hairdresser, had some lunch and came back to line up to see santa about 20 minutes before he was due to start. We waited and waited, and Bree started to get cranky as she hadnt had her usual morning nap. Anyway, santa finally came and He said hello to all the children lining up, including Bree. He went and sat in his chair and the family in front of us went in to sit with Santa and have their photo taken, but by the time we were called through, Brianna was sound asleep. We put her on Santa's knee thinking that she would wake up but she didn't, the photo was taken while she was asleep on his lap...
Then we went to the Lobethal lights a few nights after that. The parade started at 7:30pm, and, well, Brianna's bed time is 7-7:30pm, she fell asleep 5 minuted before it started. DOH
Then on Christmas Day, we had the extended family over for lunch and Brianna fell asleep in her highchair 5 minutes before we started lunch... DOH
I think Christmas was a little boring for her LOL although she really enjoyed playing with the wrapping paper... Later on after lunch, she had Grandad showing her his phone, it was playing music and he was dancing for her, her face expression was priceless, but then she went off to sleep straight after he finished...
Hope your all doing well and I wish you all a happy and safe New Year! Think I will be staying in, wouldn't want to disrupt Brianna's bedtime lol
Bern - congrats on the first tooth, hope the others come in with not too much trouble.
Gemma-Girl - it seems that Bree was very relaxed through her first Christmas. My man was really good with Santa but on Xmas day, he didn't want his naps and became very grumpy. He also cut his first tooth that day too, so was in a bit of pain. Hopefully next year she will be awake for her photo.
AFM - as mentioned Seth has cut his first tooth. At first I could only feel it but now can see it raising.... He also has been learning to pull him self up to standing position in his cot and play pen... So I think he will start moving soon.
GG size 2 !! Woah! Jacobs in between 00 and 0 still! Is she having many solids? Jacob is on 1-2 solids a day now, some cereal in the morning and some fruit or a biscuit or custard in the afternoon.
Jacob is standing up and holding onto furniture and has walked forward 3 steps holding onto a wooden cart. He had the biggest grin on his face too, was very proud of himself!!
Still no teeth here!
He's had so many long, busy days with new faces and people wanting cuddles and going out all the time. Routine has been out the window over Christmas! Can't wait to settle things back to normal. Jacob got very spoiled from family for his first Christmas, but all he wants is an old wooden spoon from grandmas kitchen and a placemat and he's happy for ages!! Haha! I got a lot of clothes for him, which is great, won't need to buy him anything till winter now hope you all had a safe and joyous holidays with your bubs xo
